Bloom [Part Two]
Fandom: Yuuri On Ice
Ship: Viktuuri [Viktor Nikiforov x Katsuki Yuuri]
T/W: nothing, apart from confused&toogoodforanyone!yuuri and troublesome!viktor - dont forget though, if you read this and feel that there should be a specific warning added for whatever reason, please dont hesitate to reach out!
Summary: Chamberlain Yuuri Katsuki has grown into quite a hard-working young man. He's efficient, really, and surprisingly strong (at least when it comes to hauling ridiculous heaps of laundry, and trapping the likes of royalty within his arms on a whim). Although considerably quiet, irrational and paranoid, one thing's for sure: all he wants to do is see the gorgeous blooming of The Royal Azalea. What happens when someone interrupts his way there, in a partially concerning, and definitely suspicious way?
[Part One] [Part Two] [Part Three]
a/n: yayyyy!! part two of bLooOoM!!! I had a sudden spout of inspiration and wrote this at 2am last night! awesome, right? :’)
anyway, this chapters quite long actually - a lot longer than the first, so sorry for that. but still, i hope you enjoy! and don't forget, constructive criticism is always welcome! thank you!!
---
"...What do you say?"
Yuuri could only stare at the prince; entranced by his words alone.
Not like he wasn't completely floored by other aspects of The Prince Viktor Nikiforov - considering this was probably the only time he'd held more than a three-word exchange with the man, he could barely believe the circumstance he had somehow found himself in.
It was most definitely a dream.
And Yuuri most definitely prayed to any deity that was willing to listen, that he would wake up.
Any time now.
See, Yuuri was more than horrified that he had not only touched the prince in an unwarranted manner, but that the prince was set on thanking him for it!
His gaze trailed tragically along the extended arm laid out before him (since when had that happened?), as if his majesty had expected for Yuuri to take his hand and ride into the sunset with him in a golden carriage, like a damned princess.
And the chamberlain, quite unfortunately, knew he was anything but.
Yuuri retraces his steps, recalling how exactly he had found himself face to face with the crown prince of Vreosia, who was next in line to take the throne and become king.
---
It had been quite a long day.
And Yuuri was more than ready to fall asleep on the hard, cold, so very cold, floor of the corridors.
For he had insisted for some unknown reason, that he were to cover for Guang-Hong Ji - who had not incidentally, no, purposefully, attended to his own chores in the castle.
For the last three days that is.
How had he not been caught?!
Yuuri couldn't help the small, indignant screech that had echoed the walls of storage room when the launderer had first cornered him, early in the morning, begging for help. Supposedly, he had been sneaking around the castle to meet one of the guards. What was his name, Lenny? Lucas? No, it was...Logan...? Wait! Leo!
Anyway, their schedules had never lined up, so Ji had risked it all for a little rendezvous.
It was basically love at first sight, he had whispered dreamily.
Yuuri couldn't help but roll his eyes at that, and yet a subtle smile graced his lips lovingly.
And because of his golden heart, he had thus agreed to finish up Ji's aborted chores around the castle.
With the condition, of course, that this would never happen again, and Ji would do his own chores from now on.
The launderer had agreed with much reluctance, to which Yuuri had responded with a light sigh and a general 'if you want to see that soldier again, you're going to have to put the work in - and not get into trouble'.
Much to Yuuri's dismay, there was a lot more to do than he had first expected.
He could barely fathom the pile of dirty sheets in the corner of the spare bedroom Ji had ended up secretly leading him to - it was almost as tall as him for goodness' sake!
Not to mention the additional list that his friend had sheepishly handed him: an entire two pages.
If Phichit saw him now, he'd never hear the end of it.
Three days worth of tasks, and Yuuri had exactly one day to do them all.
He was going to die.
And probably by suffocation of laundry.
-
Luckily, he did not.
He had just managed to sweep the floors of the spare bedroom and change the linen of the bed as dusk so elegantly arrived. Getting rid of the evidence was far too demanding, though Yuuri swallowed his complaints; he would never in a thousand years jeopardise Ji or himself for being caught for something as menial as a failure to do the laundry.
Prior to that, he had laboriously struggled with said laundry, the whole day consisting of his efforts to drag ridiculous masses of extravagant cloths down to the laundry rooms to be washed.
It was laughable, Yuuri concluded, how an entire castle full of at least fifty, had enough riches to provide for them all - and yet it was spent only on such materialistic values, that just the royal family could actually use or even touch.
Yuuri shook his head, he needed to hurry up. He had been planning to make way to the gardens for weeks now - but hadn't had such a chance. Especially with having to tend to Ji's overlooked errands.
The maid sighed as he paced through the halls, away from the bedrooms and further downstairs. The Royal Azalea were rumoured to bloom quite beautifully during the springtime, and as luck would have it, the castle gardens had quite the selection. Though in the three quiet years that he had been working for the royal family, he'd never been able to actually take a look.
Once, Phichit (a very close friend who he had first met when he started working in the castle) had recognised that the Rhododendron Schlippenbachii were quite so extravagant.
Trust Yuuri to avow shamefully that the binomial name of this flower had slipped through one ear of his and out the other.
But to Yuuri's relief, Phichit had also disclosed the more manageable name, albeit excitedly spurting more random facts about the flowers as well, which Yuuri could barely remember.
It was the chamberlain's own fault for becoming friends with someone who specialised in plants, specifically that in the Castle’s herber.
Hurrying slightly, the young man sped almost desperately through the castle - wishing to see the flowers already. He had things to do tomorrow, and God knew that he was too impatient to miss the blooming for the third time in a row.
He continued, carefully watching out for any patrols - as a now usual resident of the castle, and a working maid of so, he was nonchalant. He thought about which route to take, knowing that conveniently, going through the kitchens would be quicker and there would be less a chance of being stopped by guards outside. Yuuri shuddered: he wouldn't know how to explain himself if that happened.
"Oh, I just wanted to see The Royal Azalea in bloom, so I snuck out of the castle after dark! Which violates the rules of the castle, because you probably mistook me for a barbarian or worse! Not like you can get worse than that or something. But either way, that meant having to leave your posts to chase me down! What a waste of time and space!"
Now that he had reflected on it, there was actually nothing to think about.
He headed straight to the cookery.
As he skipped stealthily into the aisle leading to the kitchens, his breath caught. He stiffened. His eyes glued relentlessly to the back of a silhouette that creeped through the large, umber doors and into the kitchens.
A-a thief?
Yuuri shook his head.
No. There was no way a thief could've managed to sneak through the guards. Not with the new recruits...
Then Yuuri painfully remembered, most had little to no training nor experience, for the castle had been suffering a shortage of soldiers for quite some time now. Vreosia had always been a peaceful kingdom, but with new threat now arising from a nearby domain and its ruffians, the royal family had decided to take precautions - blindly, if Yuuri could say so much, taking in as many willing volunteers and making them swear their loyalty over to the Nikiforov's.
The chamberlain winced. He squeezed his eyes and counted slowly.
1...2...
This wasn't his responsibility.
...3...4...
He should just make a run for the maid's quarters; pretend he saw nothing.
...5...6...
He didn't want any trouble.
...7...8...
He was only a maid.
...9...
He'll probably die if he followed them.
10.
Yuuri sighed in frustration. A long and deep exhale gushed out of his nostril and onto the cupid's bow of his lips.
He continued after the mysterious shadow.
In doing so, he slipped through the doors leading into the cookery, and watched discreetly, as the offender passed the island in the middle - their silver hair gleaming in the moonlight that squeezed through the cracks in between hanging cutlery, and from the mighty window beside.
Wait-
-silver hair?
Silver, as in...
Yuuri gasped against his will. He quickly covered his mouth in disbelief, the realisation hitting him square in the face like a brick.
It was Viktor Nikiforov.
No, it was The Viktor Nikiforov.
The Prince Viktor Nikiforov: beloved by the entire kingdom for, well, everything.
Not only was he, for lack of better words, Prince Charming - but he was also the same man who had given Katsuki Yuuri quite a memorable first day at the castle.
With that, Yuuri recollects, the time he had witnessed Prince Nikiforov get absolutely hounded by both the King and his advisor at what was barely sunrise, for sneaking out of boundaries at such a late time.
Yuuri had spent the day being somewhat awkwardly showed around by none other than Phichit and Guang-Hong Ji, as well the the Steward; Georgi Popovich.
And funnily enough, the day didn't exactly end there.
He giggles, barely audible, as he remembers the way the entire castle had been awoken by Yakov's uninterrupted reprimanding, along with the King's very audible (so much so that it was slightly concerning) sighs and face palms.
All the staff, now disturbed from their slumber, stayed curious and intrigued in the lower chambers of the castle. They had somehow managed to convince Yuuri and Phichit (mostly just Phichit who had tugged Yuuri along without much pity) to go and see what the fuss was all about.
The two had made their way to the Great Hall, where Prince Nikiforov was sitting at a marvellous table, surrounded by the King and who Yuuri had assumed to be the prince's advisor, Yakov. He also remembers the four other guards present in the room, who seemed to shrink away as Yakov continued to yell in absolute annoyance.
He doesn't remember what exactly they had been discussing, but Yuuri reminisces the bored look on Viktor's face - but also dwells on the underlying fear that had been ever-present in his body language.
He goes as far as to think about the fact that he swears the crown prince had saw him then, behind a small entrance to the left, where he had hidden stupidly with Phichit: who seemed content staying in the corner behind Yuuri, listening carefully to the gossip but shielding himself away from the source - much to his exasperation.
With a hesitant flinch that became a full turn of his head, he remembers the way his highness' eyes had widened ever so slightly at him; the unmistakable eye-contact.
Curious blue eyes that glinted magically in a dizzy haze - an almost taunting look that beckoned Yuuri from the darkness. He also remembers the vague purse of his lips, a thin line that the maid couldn't help but fantasise about. Not to mention his shining hair and smooth-looking skin.
He wonders briefly what it would feel like to hold his face in his hands.
He's never told anybody about this.
Not Guang-Hong Ji, nor Phichit - who, as previously mentioned, had hidden behind Yuuri at the time, and so he missed exact moment the prince had possibly seen them, because it had been blocked off from his field of view. And either way, if Yuuri had ever told either of them about his little crush on the blue blood, he'd never live it down. They'd tease and meddle and so on.
The chamberlain was much more content admiring such beauty from afar. Quietly, that is.
And he knew, obviously, he wasn't the only admirer of Prince Viktor Nikiforov: royals and peasants alike.
Yuuri's glad it was almost pitch black in the Hall then, save for a few lit candles that had been placed atop the dining table as well as the one that the advisor had been holding, well, waving around quite dangerously.
If it hadn't been-
He's suddenly snapped out of his thoughts, after hearing an almost silent but nevertheless, shrill creak of a door.
The back door.
Why was Prince Nikiforov...?
Oh...
He was sneaking out.
Again.
Yuuri raised an unimpressed eyebrow - of course, this handsome but likely spoiled brat was intent on getting into more trouble.
He hadn't truly met the man, only exchanging polite greetings when he happened to set foot into the same room as him - a room in which would coincidentally happen to be where Yuuri was carrying out a task of his or two.
This had only happened a measly three times, over the expanse of his near three-year stay in the castle.
He supposes it's not fair to call his majesty spoilt or a brat, or any combination of the two. Not when he at least acknowledged him when he entered the room, unlike other important people who had visited the Nikiforov's kingdom for whatever business.
(And being born into fortune wasn't his fault anyway - it didn't automatically make him the selfish person Yuuri had first prejudiced)
He'd always kept his down during his completion of tasks, though - never fully looking the prince in the eye, minding his own affairs and scurrying away as soon as he'd finished.
He feared that he would be recognised from that night in the Great Hall, a good three years ago - if the royal had truly seen him.
He had taken extra precautions anyway, always avoiding the prince when he could afford to, and dragging someone with him to hide behind when needed. He knows he hadn't let the his majesty get a good look at his face, and yet, it wasn't enough to truly ensure that he wouldn't have registered his face by now. But it was enough to deceptively relieve Yuuri of the constant nagging worry that he'd be punished for eavesdropping on a fairly private matter.
And besides, it wasn't as if he had run into the man in question a countless number of times afterward - again, Yuuri could recall their one-on-one encounters on only one hand.
Even more so, he recounts that there had been a sort of business that the royal family had to attend to over the course of his first week there, meaning that Yuuri and other newly hired staff hadn't been properly introduced. Additionally, they never found the time afterwards, and soon enough two years and three quarters had passed, and no one in the castle felt introductions were quite so needed anymore.
This meant that his majesty hopefully wouldn't recognise him if he saw him, nor would he recall his name.
Yuuri had begun to head back out the kitchen, making a silent promise to visit the flowers tomorrow, when he noted a flicker of black through the corner of his eye.
A shape that had flitted across the expanse of the large window of the cookery.
Out of intuition, Yuuri ran over to the crown prince, wordlessly apologising before yanking him by the shoulders, away from the door and forcing his mouth shut with a single hand.
He had underestimated his own strength - or overestimated the prince's; it seemed that the taller man struggled in his grasp, bending backward to accommodate Yuuri's stand.
Perhaps carrying all that laundry had toughened him up.
The chamberlain stumbled blindly over to the wall behind, grappling against the royalty he had bundled up in his grasp.
It was then that he had begged the Prince to stay quiet, which had somehow proved effective with the sudden stillness of the man.
Or maybe it was because he could now hear the idle chatter of two guards from outside.
Yuuri's fairly sure he heard the name 'Leo'.
The name of the mystery man Ji had been sneaking around to meet. The very man who was probably the reason why Yuuri found himself backed up into a wall, currently giving what might've looked like a back-hug to Prince Viktor Nikiforov, but was instead a strange and sad parody of something more aggressive.
He silently curses him.
Soon enough, the guards had dashed away, and Yuuri had mentally started saying thank you, to who, he wasn't sure - yet, it didn't cease his sudden joy for successfully staying hidden away from said guards.
Yuuri can pinpoint, however, the exact moment it all went to shit.
Prince Nikiforov had half the mind to, all of a sudden, push Yuuri off of him, and pin him down to the wall - reversing their roles of captive and captor.
The maid recalls the initial overwhelming fear that had possessed his body then, and he was certain he was to be executed by dawn.
Who would've thought he'd live to tell the tale?
---
His lips parted in anticipated response, not yet fully knowing what he wanted to say.
Viktor Nikiforov now knew exactly what he looked like, as well as his given name. All his efforts over the years, gone lay to waste.
He should've minded his own business.
He could try to run as far and fast as his legs would allow, but it would do nothing to aid Yuuri, for the royal family could put a bounty on his head with such information.
Wonderful.
The prince stood, awaiting, arm still stretched out invitingly toward Yuuri, hopeful blue eyes that made the chamberlain feel small.
Yuuri flushes yet again, embarrassed and unsure - the crown prince was quite the charmer, he'd allowed himself to admitwithout much indifference.
It was then that the abrupt clatter of armour could be distinctly heard again, and two out-of-breath soldiers came bustling through the back kitchen door - one pointing accusingly at the maid himself.
"I told you I heard something!"

Degrees of Taurus and Naruto characters (namely Sasuke, Itachi and Naruto)
I’ve recently started reading about the meaning and significants of each degree in the birth chart and have decided to utilize my new found knowledge for the purpose of drawing a more accurate chart for Naruto characters.
In this part I’ve focused on the third decan of taurus. I’ve mentioned before that I’m certain Naruto has something in Taurus and Itachi apparently has more than one planet in taurus. We’ve also established that Sasuke has his moon in taurus.
I’ve got these descriptions from the first document that pops up in google when you search taurus degrees meaning.
I’ve only guessed two of Itachi’s taurus degrees, the other probably isn’t in the third decan. Also I have 2 guesses for Sasuke and I’m not sure which one is more accurate.
If you happen to have the same placement as the one I guessed for Itachi (28-29 degrees taurus) don’t take this to heart.
20-21: maybe Itachi
related to poison
It indicates a silent, watchful disposition, inclined to caution, method, and thrift, but liable to assaults from unexpected sources, which will overthrow many carefully designed plans. It is a degree of ANTICIPATION.
A frugal, cautious, watchful, silent and close character bearing the hallmark of individuality, a deep mind, a pitiless logic, a precise and methodic intelligence, more suited for analysis than synthesis. The native will rely but on himself, yet destiny will baffle him with gleeful spite and take a cruel delight in hitting him just where rational logic would rule out failure or even danger. The collapse of his most accurately prearranged plans will tell on the native’s temper, whose guardedness may drift into suspiciousness, and misanthropy into wickedness.
Strategic, self-directed but perhaps egotistical Aries-Scorpio degree - certainly never content to sit, always having a plan, project or alternative waiting in the wings. Can build great accomplishments and find success if temper and lusts are kept under control, and if it can avoid “yes men” and opportunists. Desired to be admired. Sexual attractions often include great sacrifices. Infighter or revolutionary - anarchistic and opinionated. Must develop Libran traits.
A very resourceful sportsman. One whose judgment can be relied upon in estimating values.
Witnessing dispassionately the flow of time. Standing outside of all linear progression and knowing what is likely to happen here. Supremely disengaged from surface affairs, even lightly dismissive of all secondary considerations, but tuned right in to the thread of prophecy and inner vision. Granted a certain grace to follow the inner track. And serving a larger function as part shaman, part seer, and part commonsensical advisor. Salty wit, earthy and pithy, no nonsense. You know where the bones are buried. Penetrating insight. A throwback to simpler worlds. One who warns of dangers ahead, and is not amused by factions and fragments and phantoms of common assumption.
Highly intelligent. Quick, analytical, objective mind. Clear thinking. Strives to understand the larger context, philosophical view, and underlying assumptions of any idea or concept. Interested in economics
Silent, methodical, and clear-sighted character. Sly enemies abound and conceal their real nature while waiting for the moment when they can successfully grab what does not belong to them, be it money or an already married person. Fortunately enough, one displays vigilance and providence, and therefore one is able to avoid the most dangerous traps. If in the natal chart, Saturn is powerful, prudence and concentration capacities are strengthened. With Mars, energy is increased, and with a Venus, kindness is enhanced. In some cases, this degree indicates gifts for occultism or, at least, above-average perceptiveness.
22-23: Sasuke (I personally think this is more likely than the other one)
can lead and inspire but can fail
It signifies one who will suffer misfortune in the height of his career and whose fall will be dangerous in proportion to the height he has attained. The native will be too apt to depend on his own powers and will essay feats which will be beyond his natural powers. Ambition will lead him into dangerous positions, and at a weak moment he will fall. Let this be taken as equally affecting his physical, moral, and social welfare. It is a degree of COLLAPSE.
A great spiritual force, a generous, passionate character whose mind, compared to a large heart, may appear limited. Faith in one’s power is excessive, hence a tendency to overreach oneself by a display of arrogance, weakness, light-headedness and foolhardiness which may head the native for a dangerous fall. This may be taken in the literal sense of bodily falls, as well as in the metaphorical one (financial, social, moral, or spiritual).
Imaginative, irascible: a symbol of individual freedom in motion - Sagittarian wanderings brought down to earth long enough to establish turf and be noticed. Master of human and animal nature. Desire for self-expression and talent to do so. Humorous, optimistic, spiritual, passionate character, which might lead to light mindedness and dangerous risks at times. May make bad choice of partners, but generally fortunate in career.
Great strength of will and if character is also indicated by other testimonies in the chart, one capable of great works. Cruelty in undeveloped types.
Nothing to say, everything to do. The self cannot be articulated because it is far too busily pressed out into emergency mobilization twenty-four hours a day. No personal life, no personal world, no personal self. Just fantastic availability to the call, the collective vigil, entered upon willingly and selflessly. The demands and rigors of this position and stance are punishing and extreme. You are so hard-pressed, so rabidly attentive that nothing else exists. The assignment is clear, brutally so. Be on the spot at every level, maintain order, keep everything going and stay tuned to everything unusual and strange. Follow it out, keep it in your sights and make absolutely sure that you stay sober, integrity sworn and minutely diligent to hold the center and uphold the law with a steadfastness that is beyond belief, and simply true.
first half :   A deep sense of his own individuality and nobility. Devoted to family. Searches for a mature, objective, broad understanding of life.
second half:  A deep sense of his own individuality and nobility. Vital and energetic, perhaps a reforming or revolutionary spirit. Innovative.
This degree describes a reversal of fortune at the pinnacle of the career. The fall is commensurate with the social status and indicates a risk of dishonour and all kinds of losses. One relies too blindly on one's own strength and undertakes projects without having carefully assessed its assets and weaknesses. The danger of fall also applies to physical accidents, as well as moral and social matters.
23-24: Sasuke
A man, yet one greater than a man! His mission is a world mission, but present conditions will scarcely admit of such a development.
It signifies one who will take his course through useless tracks, and by too much trust in others will suffer depletion. Yea, though all has life long he may minister to the wants of others, yet, in his advancing years, he will be abandoned to the mercy of wayfaring and deceitful men. This illustrates virtue misapplied. It as a degree of DECLINE.
Assuming as we did that no degree of the zodiac can convey any meaning if not looked at in the light of the horoscope as a whole, this rule does not fit any degree so thoroughly as this fifty-fourth degree which has something mysterious, or transcendent, in itself. Should the rest of the pattern be of a spiritual nature, an intense but hidden inner life would be the result. If the other features concur into a majestic picture, the native may have been assigned a mission reaching beyond his country and his age. “At the limit,” to borrow a mathematical expression; that is, in such a cosmically vast and sublime horoscope as can be drawn in the heavens only once in mankind’s history, this degree becomes one among many other components from which, written in star characters; the announcement of the Redemptor’s birth was given.
Daring Leo degree may have a mission from God, or a self-appointed one - or some karmic feeling it must follow. Guilt or ecclesiastical upbringing may create humility or piety, appearing naive, but faithful and a Samaritan - and not likely to do much to insure its own protection or growth. Self- conscious, nervous, superstitious, but goodhearted and blissful-usually. Dedicated and warm, but must not be over-loving ruthless or over-protective.
One who serves and is inclined to be servile. A patient worker who should free himself from the thralldom of others and develop his latent ability.
Thematic worlds coming round again just as before, just like always. The highest and the best, maintained and sustained beautifully, impeccably, superlatively. Knowing inside that what counts, what is essential, is to abide, to be. You are a vast world unto yourself, an extraordinary network of intersecting dynamics. But the witness consciousness is blissfully sitting back in a restful perch, letting everything go by. And in the very center of this dispassion and wakeful scrutinizing, one indwells a Buddha realization attained by hard work in many lives and now being your innermost identity in an identity less way.
Very particular and precise. May be easily irritated when things are not just right. Creative intelligence, capable of original ideas and novel projects.
Generous, helpful, and gullible character. Misplaced confidence results in sufferings and disappointments. One generously shares everything one possesses with less fortunate people. However, on must spare enough resources for oneself, otherwise, one is in danger of falling into the dire poverty which one has helped other people out of. In such a case, no one will come up to lend a helping hand. This degree indicates ingratitude and unrewarded qualities. There may also be eye problems.
24-25: Naruto
This denotes a very mysterious character. Whilst living among men, a stranger to men. He has a life of his own, a world of his own, he is content to live and die unknown (never showing his true self).
It indicates a powerful and haughty nature; one who is disposed to justify himself by force of arms rather than by intrinsic merit. Such a person will make many his servants but few his friends and in the end his state will be a pitiable as that of a dying lion. It is a degree of PRIDE.
The subject’s inner world will stay closed and unknown to all. Yet this is no cowardly nature, rather an arrogant one; the native is innerly proud, haughty, overbearing, but not vain. As he is spiritually isolated among his fellow beings, he will have justice done to himself, if necessary, by having recourse to arms. As he is misunderstood, he will endeavor to have his own way even by resorting to violence; as long as his strength does not fail him, he will see subdued servants around himself, never friends.
Stately Leo and serious-natured Capricorn furnish this degree with cold spirituality, pride, perhaps haughtiness. Arrogant, but with a firm desire to achieve goals and dominate its sphere, hopefully with justice and mercy. Helped by earthly features and mannerisms. Bound by family ties and genealogy; may take up arms of face violence, or may be mean and cruel. Religious dogma- dictatorial. Should be aware of the practical welfare of all people.
One with great mental strength but whose power and ability will be acknowledged only by few. Too advanced for popular acceptance.
The inward image and the outward reflection are worlds apart. Building up inside to a state of being that carries immense challenges. You see your own personal nature as an objective universal force to be reckoned with, and persist in seeing egocentrically. Preferring massively your own company, contained within yourself, imaginatively self-enchanted. Yet also capable of radical turnabouts and rebirths. Awakenings false and true, great and small. Knowing yourself to be somebody special. Self-consciousness enshrined. A dead-end or a path, oblivious or realizing the way of things, getting out of the way or being squarely in the way. Self-importance and its overcoming.
Good sense of balance, tact, sophistication, and harmony in his work and life generally. Progressive, enterprising, active. A good worker in any business or organization.
Assertive, combative, and haughty character endowed with leadership abilities. One prefers forceful means to dialogue and arouses much hatred. One makes the difference between one's few genuine friends and all the numerous flatterers. This degree indicates a risk of violent death or suicide, especially if in the natal chart, it is in conjunction with the Ascendant, the Sun or the Moon, or the ruler of the 8th House. In conjunction with the Part of Fortune, there may be seizure or confiscation of assets."
28-29: Itachi
associated with eye problems
It signifies a tyrant, who takes delight in power apart from its uses, and whose opinions are bigoted and selfish. To rule, without regard to qualifications, is the passing ambition of one born under this degree. Death, which frees the slave, will bind the hands of a tyrant in irons forged from his own heart. It is a degree of DESPOTISM.
Commercial, Venusian, fashion and possession flaunting degree due to Libra here better for females - causes grief for males. Gifted with beauty, believed more than it should - can pick and choose partners and mate who are subjects and followers. Always “right” in its own world, and therefore an unconscious danger to others, apt to take them down paths best left for the foolish, Danger of addictions, Magnetic and proud; good organizer and able administrator.
Too many divergent interest brings a life of confusion. The development of the will is necessary and will bring success in property ownership and development.
Tyrannical, selfish, and fanatic character. There is a strong propensity for debauchery and sexual perversions. One imposes one's narrow-minded ideas to members of the family, friends, and employees, which arouses much hatred. Sooner or later, slaves are freed, and the despot is overthrown. If in the natal chart, the Moon is waxing and in conjunction with this degree, the constellation of the Pleiades promises high social status, fame, and honours, but it also warns against accidents affecting the face, impaired sight, or violent death.
Crystallized imagination. The inside of the inside remembered and evoked whimsically. There is no form, no pattern, no binding reality. Dreaming the world into being from a greatly bemused stance-- other. Twinkling observer-witness consciousness. Off on tangents that call, a life, a cycle, a realm set aside for inventive play without boundaries. You feel exultant in the freedom. Swept away beautifully. Answerable to nobody and nothing except the muse.
Intelligent, original, energetic, self-reliant. Honest and straightforward, sometimes tactless and blunt.

Your Life Matters
The way my personality works is that, unfortunately, I care too much; I care to a fault. I love everyone; black, white, tanned, rainbow coloured… It doesn’t matter to me if you have translucent flesh and come from outer space. I don’t care what your skin looks like and I don’t care where you originate from. I don’t care if you’re human, animal or plant. All living things are equally important in their own way.
There are millions of people who feel the same way as I do. Unfortunately, they are the ones who go noticed because we are too busy focusing our attention on those who make the most noise. We allow the squeaky wheel to capture our attention and manipulate our emotions.
The problem with caring to excess is that these emotions can easily override my sense of what is actually real, which means I end up suffering for no reason. Additionally, as a result of failing to examine my own mental and emotional processes, I put myself at risk of being blindly led to fulfill the selfish agendas of those who really couldn’t give a shit about me (or anyone else, for that matter).
I found the antidote to my excessive care in the practice of an equal amount of reason and logic. I study the facts and then some... I examine statistics before I can allow myself to form an opinion on anything. It is necessary, and the only way to function as a “normal” person in today’s world where we are constantly inundated with information (not all of which is factual, and much of which is based on people’s egos and the desperate need to appear like a moral human being.) It is called people pleasing. Therein lies the danger of following the crowd – people’s motivations are hidden, even to themselves. The result is not good.
If this movement is not about an innocent man being murdered by a corrupt cop, but rather, a black man being murdered by a white man. If this is about the police brutality and the justice system being fundamentally racist. If every single member of these institutions (including blacks, women and those who identify as LGBT) are racist. Then why are black people attacking everybody, without consideration or mercy? Worse yet, why are we actively encouraging it?
Why are we saying it’s okay to behave like criminals, like crazy people? Why is it totally acceptable to destroy all businesses (including the mum and pop stores that are barely surviving as it is)? Why are we saying it’s okay for people to post stolen items on social media, knowing they have ruined the lives of families and children who simply do not deserve such injustice? What about those guys? And what does it have to do with police brutality and racism?
Why are we encouraging people to leave bricks outside protest areas, knowing full well they will be used for destruction? Some people are just a-holes and like to sit back with a bag of popcorn and watch people hurt one another. That is how they get their kicks and it’s sickening. They have no investment in the cause and could not care less about racism. They don’t care that black people are losing their lives in these protests (17 and counting…) and that they helped contribute to such a tragic turn of events. They sleep perfectly well at night, while families grieve. Why has death become the answer to death?
Let’s imagine something for a moment. Let’s imagine that the statistics which show that white people get it just as bad as black people are in fact correct. (The sources that support this statement are incredible if you wish to venture outside the echo chamber.) Not only would this mean the system is hurting everybody, regardless of skin colour, it also means that all those white victims of police brutality and justice system unfairness died in vain. (If we hate white people so much, that fact alone should suffice for cause of celebration. Because racism is not okay. Unless it’s towards white people, yes?)
Getting back to my point, if just as many white folks are suffering at the hands of authority as black folks, then the problem truly is about police brutality and corruption of the justice system. Can we at least agree on this point? This is our enemy, not each other. This is what we should be fighting against. But we are not doing that. We are making all white people our enemy, which is so pointless and absurd that it does my head in. Yes, racism exists in the world. Yes, there are ignorant people walking among us. This cannot be helped. People are racist and ignorant all over the world, not just white folk areas.
In fact, what seems obvious to me is is that white people are the ones who are learning faster than the rest of the world that racism is simply not okay. Clearly, otherwise our little hearts wouldn’t be so hurt and we wouldn’t be fighting so hard. We simply wouldn’t care. White people fought to help end slavery. Does anyone remember this? It was called the American Civil War. It is behind us now. Why can’t we accept this glorious achievement in history? Racism and slavery is still practiced in other parts of the world, such as Africa and the Middle East. Why aren’t we focusing our efforts on this little problem? There are open air slave markets in Libya. That stuff should have ended in the Roman times, but it hasn’t. Nobody bats an eye though.
Why? Because facts require the effort of research and once we reach the Truth, it is really uncomfortable to share it with others. Per chance we might appear “racist”. And right now, all white people are shoved in the same category of racist. We really, truly cannot escape the label, and we dare not try, because we are too nice. And too scared. So we just let it continue and take it from every angle, even if we know ourselves to be loving and kind people. Name calling is the only way some people can make their point and it is something that’s very much on-trend these days. That and hating yourself for being white.
Because self-hatred isn’t the number one most damaging thing to mankind or anything, and we don’t struggle enough with it, as it is. There aren’t enough self-help books published to help us out of such a toxic mentality. Yes, more guilt and shame is what we need, even if we weren’t personally involved in the enslavement of black folks and even if zero people in our bloodline were involved in such a hideous way of life.
Let’s just hate ourselves for being white in the name of “solving” racism, because that makes heaps of sense. Let’s not communicate or brainstorm actual ides for it, because that’s uncomfortable. Let’s just self-flagellate till the end of time, to prove what wonderful, caring human beings we are, and how much we love everyone, clearly, because we hate ourselves. No. Just no.
Calling one another racist should not mean anything anymore because it’s become such a common go-to insult, but unfortunately it still has an effect on our fragile sense of identity. Feeling triggered? Name call. Losing a debate? Name call.  Here’s the thing: name calling is not an argument. It is what little children do in the playground because they haven’t yet developed their emotional intelligence. It is not what adults do.
We cannot continue to make emotional noises with out mouth holes and call it an argument. But because tribe mentality is part of our human nature, it’s easy to worry about what people think because nobody wants to be rejected and cast aside at the end of the day. It just isn’t a good feeling. But here’s another thing: we should not fear insults, because it is just sticks and stones. Our fear should center around conforming to illusion and bad ideas instead.
Here is yet another uncomfortable truth: racism is not about skin colour. I should know, I had white Australians as well as Indigenous Australians tell me to “go back to my own country” when I arrived as a newcomer. (I hate the word “immigrant” so I deliberately use “newcomer” instead.) They showed me how intolerant they were of those who didn’t speak a word of English and didn’t fit in with the Australian culture. Regardless of me clearly feeling scared and alone, and trying my best to assimilate to a foreign environment.
* Which is more than I can say for some cultures who refuse to assimilate and want literally everybody to work around their value system by using their “cultural beliefs” as an excuse to get away with horrific behaviour, such as domestic violence against children and the “traditional” practice of repression of women. This is unacceptable behaviour and nobody should stand for it. But we do, because we don’t want to appear racist. At the end of the day, we should be protecting women and children, no matter what.
But getting back to my story, what I was shown by whites and non-whites alike was that I was not welcome because I was different. It was that simple. A brutal lesson. Unfair. And had absolutely nothing to do with my porcelain complexion. It had everything to do with a fear of “other” and an incredible ignorance and laziness of mind to boot.
The looting, theft and violence of the Black Lives movement needs to find a different angle, because it is not about justice anymore. One cannot receive justice through violent acts. One cannot force justice onto society by inflicting pain on the innocent. Therefore, I truly believe that what is happening here is a long-waited for excuse to behave badly and get away with it. And we are all for it, cheering on the protesters and handing them bricks. (Feeling triggered? Name call.) The truth sucks, I know. I almost want to name call myself. But we need to look at this issue clearly with both heart and mind, and not just heart.
It makes me wonder what hope we have as a society when even health professionals are actively putting people at risk by saying “it’s okay to protest in these times”, knowing that social distancing rules will be broken and many people’s lives are at great risk. These professionals are directly going against their Duty of Care for their patients and the code of ethics initially agreed upon when they started their doctoring, or whatever it is they think they’re doing.
The idea of putting my life in the hands of doctors now terrifies me, because they too are not immune to pushing their agendas onto people, and they too are scared of looking like they don’t support the movement and are therefore racist (because that makes soo much sense!)  If we cannot trust our own health care experts to stop encouraging us to protest at any cost then who can we trust? https://funnyjunk.com/Only+protestors+will+be+getting+sick/jqdmMwd/)
Some of us support the destruction going on around us, not because we are bad people. But because we are sick to our stomachs that racism actually exists and we are letting our emotions run away with us, hoping it will make a difference. What we actually need to do is step back and look at the bigger picture from a bird’s eye perspective and consider all angles.
However, those of us who love a riot (until it affects us personally, of course) should review our value systems and what we pass down to our children, who are the future. As well as check that we’re not actually psychopaths. That would be a good start. This is what freedom of speech looks and sounds like. If such a thing truly exists (as it claims to do) then I should be allowed to have my say, like everyone else and not be crucified for it. I value freedom of speech. I need freedom of speech. I will hear everyone out, no matter what their point of view, as we are all learning how to properly human in this fucked up world. I will never stop people from expressing themselves. Ultimately, I will check all the facts but come to my own conclusion. As it should be. If I am wrong in the way I am perceiving this movement, I welcome the challenge of my ideas. I don’t mind civilised and honest debate as long as it is not a screaming contest and based on actual facts. I want to learn as much as I can about the world and the human condition, and I will never stop exploring. However I do reject name calling and unnecessary put downs in the name of “being offended”. Because, newsflash! Everybody is offended right now. I am offended, you are offended, the entire world is offended. That doesn’t mean we have to walk on eggshells around one another until the end of time. Please, can we not do that anymore?
In fact, there is great danger in submitting to that sort of game, as Steven Fry would agree: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJKXJNM3W-c&feature=youtu.be
* For some comedic relief after such a heavy topic, here is Steve Hughes’ video on being offended too. It’s much more light hearted but ultimately makes the same point. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fHMoDt3nSHs
I am a human being, like everyone else, and I want to live in a better world. I want future generations to have a better planet in which to thrive. This requires me to speak my mind and I expect the same courtesy returned. We are not monkeys anymore; we have evolved from that. Let’s leave the past in the past and invest our energies on further growth and evolution. Let’s communicate. Let’s debate. Most importantly, let’s invest our very souls in the Truth, by allowing the antidote to our vulnerable sense of empathy to be introspection, hard research and the civilised sharing of ideas. It is the only way forward.
May it be so.

characters based on tarot: the major arcana
under the cut is the twenty two major arcana cards (or main cards) of tarot personified as characters. if you are looking for character inspiration, muse, or archetypes this is a good list to give you a base character idea. you can also do more research on your own for each card and their art to help once you’ve chosen, and i might do a reversed card character help too!! i will also be doing this for each of the four sections of the minor arcana cards!! i hope this helps you in building a character and if you have any questions or need any help send me an ask cuz i love talking about this stuff!! thanks!!
Tumblr media
1. the fool: this is a character on a journey, full of excitement and potential and happy to see what the world has for them because their blindly optimistic on this new journey. think hercules at the beginning of the disney movie when he goes to phil’s, so ready to find his place and the epic journey of his life. this is someone following their heart and their dreams, and believe everything happens for a reason even the bad things that are thrown their way is a learning experience. this is a character who develops in a positive way, growing for the better, and is so optimistic it’s in an almost childish way. this is that character who has their few belongings packed into the back of their car and are going on a roadtrip with only three shirts. they don’t need a lot, just their positivity and maybe a really good book and pet. their biggest flaw is their innocence or naivety, and while they can brush off some bad things well they still have a lot to learn about the world and are at risk of being hardened.
2. the magician: this character is, unlike the fool, is goal oriented and has a straight plan for their life and career. this character is extremely ambitious, more mature, and are very balanced in everything in their lives. they are grounded, know their worth and place and have a lot of inner power because of that. this is someone that is highly educated both in their studies but in the world, being very cultured as well. they have unlimited potential and refuse to allow anyone to get in the way of that.
3. the high priestess: this card is known as the card that “sits at the gate before the great Mystery” and “in front of the thin veil of awareness, which is all that separates us from our inner selves.” so um...everything (my fav card obvi). this is a character who has a silent power, so completely sure of themselves and everything in them that they have no need to scream it at the rooftops and let everyone know, because their actions so it and in knowing your own truth you don’t need to prove it to others. this is the character that always trusts their gut cuz it’s always right, they have great intuition. this is another character that is mature, and more so an old soul. this person recognizes the importance of both good and bad in life, the duality of people and that no one is fully good or bad. they’re like a lawful neutral to true neutral in other terms.
4. the empress: this card represents femininity, fertility, and beauty. they’re if aphrodite was a tarot card. this is a character who is very much into nature, finding comfort in the breeze in the woods and being near the beach. they are very down to earth and peaceful, a pure spirit and very peaceful. they’d be the mom friend if they weren’t so chill.
5. the emperor: this character is more harsh, someone who borders on cruel with their blunt words but covers it by claiming it’s “tough love”. this is someone who is mature and has been through a lot to get to the good position where they are. they are hardened by the world and very pessimistic because of that. they insist on being the leader even if they aren’t always the best of it, because they are too headstrong to be anything but the leader. they always take action and initiative, but don’t think their actions through sometimes or see the other side of an argument because they immediately think their opinion is the correct one. they are the harsh dad friend, gruff who rarely has nice things to say but you think they still love you? maybe? you can’t really tell. it takes a lot to get this character to open up or trust someone.
6. the hierophant: this character is religious and deeply rooted in family and tradition. they are very big on family, whether that means being really close to theirs or wanting one of their own (or both), but they think very little is as important as family. they follow the set rules, values, and moral of their religion or family and instead of adapting and changing with their situation they find a way to put their beliefs in their situation. this character is a mentor to those around them, an older soul who wants to help others in the way they think is best.
7. the lovers: while this card usually represents the bond between two people, it can still be used for one character!! this is a character who is a hopeless romantic and has been hurt a lot because of that, used emotionally and sexually by people they thought were the one and weren’t. now they are in a place of healing, still looking for love and romance but healing from their past romantic failures and trying to mend their heart for the person who will treat them right.
8. the chariot: this is a character who has victory as the light at the end of the tunnel...if they can get through all the crap that’s being thrown at them. this is a character who has everything against them in their journey or goal, going through relentless struggles until they can finally reach the goal and that’s only if they can get through all that and handle the struggle. they have a lot of drive and determination though, and that should keep them going through the obstacles of their lives. character wise this could be a character who comes from a low income family putting in a lot of effort to get a scholarship to their dream school for example!
9. the hermit: there are multiple ways you can go about this character. the most common one is the literal hermit, someone who is super introverted, alone, shy, and generally sad. maybe they have a reason for always being alone and a past trauma. maybe this person is just really anti social or afraid of interaction. maybe they are pessimistic and just hate everyone and think they’re the only one worth being around. these are all various ways you can go for a character, though it makes it harder for interactions especially in a group rp so i propose a more social version of the hermit!! a character who loves being alone but not of disdain of others, but of love of themselves. this is someone who has gone through a long journey of self discovery and learning to love themselves when they didn’t always, and now has more awareness of the world around them and who is worth their presence now that they have more self respect for themselves. they surround themselves with those close with them, don’t take shit from anyone and will drop you if you’re not a good friend, and wants to be single. they are still in a spot of self discovery and need to focus on themselves, not a relationship but if love comes we’ll see.
10. strength: this strength doesn’t necessarily mean physical strength (though it can), but inner strength. this is a character who has a lot of inner strength. they are calming, loving, compassionate, and strong not only for themselves but those around them. they can tame anyone and anything (in a good way) with their loving nature, showing people love and helping them relax from moments of anger or stress. they are the total mom friend, the one who takes out their friends when they’re feeling bad or brings over ice cream and movies when they have a bad breakup.
11. the wheel of fortune: tbh i can’t think of a character for this!!
12. justice: this character, clearly, believes in justice. they are the ultimate lawful good, they’re probably a lawyer, cop, or fbi agent or something that has to do with justice. this is a person who believes in karma, people getting what they deserve for their actions, and taking responsibility for yourself and what you’ve done. they are very serious, especially about their work and equality, and could easily be a social justice warrior. they can be kind of harsh and judgmental though, and might not be the friend you go to if you make a mistake out of fear that they’d say “you deserve it for doing that.” while they are harsh, they have a good heart and just believe in the best of people and insist on people being the best version they can be, and won’t stand for any less.
13. the hanged man: while you may not expect it, this character would most likely fall under the archetype of the hero, the tragic one more specifically. this is the character who is willing to sacrifice themselves for the greater good, the martyr to save everyone else. this is someone who was once a very self righteous type of hero, seeing themselves as the ultimate form of justice and clarity, that they are the true hero of the world and it isn’t until they see the world through a different perspective that they realize they might not have always been right, or that the only option for the happiest ending for the mass is to surrender. they remind me of steve rogers for some reason.
14. death: this is a character that is killing off a past part of themselves, their life, or have lost someone from their past. either of these options lead to the same thing for your character: a large change in their life. this is a character being thrust into a big change whether or not they’re prepared. they are being reborn into something new or into a new life, and this is for the best. they are a bit disoriented, but it’s all apart of their journey.
15. temperance: this is a very cautious character, afraid of something that could throw off the balance of their life that they’ve worked so hard on having. they’re kind of introverted, someone who blushes easily and refuses to drink while at the party. they have a deep connection with nature and are comfortable being on their own, but wouldn’t deny company if it came.
16. the devil: this is a character with a lot of bad traits. this is that character who is the rich kid that spends their money on drugs and parties, is rarely sober and when they are they’re hungover, and can’t seem to get on top of their shit. this is someone who has chained themselves to bad habits, whatever it may be (sex, smoking, drinking, drugs, etc) and tries to hide their problems from the people that care about them by waving money in their face and showing all the “good” they have. they can’t seem to free themselves from these addictions and hateful thoughts towards themselves, because while they may act like they like themselves they loathe themselves.
17. the tower: this is a character who reminds me of cassandra from greek mythology, who doesn’t intend to but brings catastrophe in their wake. they try to warn people of the negative consequences but no one believes them, and bad things happen everywhere they go.
18. the star: this character is like the fool in the fact that they are overly optimistic and naive. they remind me of ariel from the little mermaid, hopeful for the world and all it has to offer while not fully knowing or understanding it. nonetheless they are an absolutely adorable character, someone people love no matter what and want to protect from the cruelty of the world so they maintain their happy disposition. unlike the fool they aren’t as easily going to brush off negative things happening in their life, as they are very vulnerable and sensitive and their heart can be broken very easily.
19. the moon: this is tied with the high priestess as my favorite card, as this card represents mystery and the unconscious mind. it reminds me of shows like twin peaks or gravity falls, where something seems quaint, simple, cute but underneath there is a dark layer to it. this is a character with a not necessarily evil in them, but some dark part of them pushed deep down in their subconscious that is trying to bubble out. they might not know they have this in them, having erased it from their mind, or they might be in a constant struggle to push it down and hide it. they are in a constant struggle with themselves, and the secrets they keep.
20. the sun: this is the ultimate optimist, and is most definitely a leo zodiac wise. they are always loud and fun, sometimes too loud where it kind of embarrasses their friends when they’re at dinner and they’re screaming. this is a character who is just generally happy, fun, bright, and chipper. they are literally the sun.
21. judgement: this is similar to justice, but less judgy (even if they are judgement). while justice is the friend you don’t want to go to for advice or emotional health, judgement is. if you’re unsure if you made the right choice you go to judgement, this is the character that can see all sides to the picture and give good advice. if they agree with you or give you a thumbs up on your decision you know you made the right choice. this is the character that has their shit together, and could easily run an advice column on a website or in a newspaper.
22. the world: this is the character who seems to be on top of the world, finally achieving all they’ve ever dreamed of and finding balance and clarity in their life. they’ve been through a lot to get here, but it’s all worth it in the end and they can finally relax and enjoy all they’ve gotten.

What hogwarts house would you sort the trollhunters characters into?
okay so first im gonna sort based on the WHY (why the character does something)/ HOW (how the character does something) in relation to the Houses, and then bold the House I’d put them in if I had to pick one
Blinky: Ravenclaw/Ravenclaw
Arrrgh: Hufflepuff/Gryffindor
Toby: Hufflepuff/Gryffindor
Claire: Slytherin who relies on some System when her people are fine; I can’t decide which System, Ravenclaw or Gryffindor/Gryffindor
Jim: Slytherin who relies on a Hufflepuff System when his people are fine/Hufflepuff
Strickler: Slytherin/Slytherin
mostly brief explanations under the cut
> I don’t think I need to explain Blinky. He values knowledge and learning and goes about this through research from both books and experiences (as we witness during Blinky’s Day Off). He likes to have a plan. Likes to strategize. All very Ravenclaw in both Why and How.
> Strickler’s pretty self-explanatory too. I could’ve argued him as a Gryffindor Primary if he was interested in the Janus Order because he felt like it was the right thing to do after the changelings have been treated badly all these years, but nope he only wanted to be the king of the new world and has to keep his own interests in mind and really only cares about Barbara. I’ve no choice but Slytherin for his Primary. And then for his Secondary he’s (quite literally) a shifty cunning little shit. I hate cliches, but he’s Slytherin all the way, man.
> Arrrgh and Toby are both Hufflepuff Primaries and Gryffindor Secondaries. They both value loyalty, kindness, fairness, living things. Arrrgh’s literally a pacifist, and Toby was the one to see the good and worth in Gnome Chompsky. He couldn’t kill him. Didn’t want to, and grows attached to him (and Arrrgh) very quickly. Arrrgh chooses to stay with his family (and die for them) instead of saving himself. Toby is the loyalest friend, sticking by Jim’s side through Hell or high water, doing his best to keep Jim sane and happy throughout everything. Toby throws himself into the team and defines himself by it, really wanting to be seen as a valued member. Arrrgh and Toby have fiery Secondaries (especially Toby) both charging into any situation with passion and enthusiasm. Their shared Primaries and Secondaries are probably why they get along so well and form such a close bond so quickly. Overall I think they’d both fit best in Hufflepuff House over Gryffindor, but I can see Gryffindor too.
> Claire and Jim gave me the most trouble. Claire seems to be a Slytherin Primary with her main motivation being to save her little brother at any cost, even if it means risking unleashing Gunmar. We haven’t seen much of what she’s like before her bro’s taken, so its hard to say what system she usually relies on when her people are fine. I think she tends to live in a Gryffindor system because I don’t think she values knowledge and learning more than people. Sure, she’s good at school, but I think its more cause her parents expect her to maintain good grades rather than her actually having a passion for knowledge and learning. She could be Modeling Ravenclaw, but its not her actual Primary’s system. As such, right now I lean more toward a Gryffindor system for her, but that might change in time.
Claire could also have a Ravenclaw Secondary with her immediate reaction to realizing she could save her brother being to research, to read the books and learn the language and just be familiar with everything, but it’s done with such an aggressive, reckless fire…I think Claire’s more of a charger and improviser rather than a planner, which is why I say Gryffindor suits her Secondary best. She’s a natural warrior. Overall I think she’d fit best in Gryffindor House. I can easily see her being one of the few kids that braves asking the Sorting Hat to put her in Gryffindor (and little Jim and Toby are just staring, in awe of her bravery and confidence, from the moment she sits down to the moment she steps off the stool grinning like crazy.)
> Jim…My bf and I went in circles trying to figure Jim out and as a result he’s gonna have the longest explanation here. Luke has lovingly dubbed Jim a Slytherpuffdor. For now I’ve decided he’s a Slytherin Primary like Claire because he has that fierce personal loyalty (its even more obvious than Claire’s), but he lives in a Hufflepuff system when his people are fine.
Jim values like every aspect of Hufflepuff: the loyalty, patience, dedication, justice, fair play, you name it. He’s completely selfless for his mother, whom he loves more than anything. He’d do anything for Toby. He’s devoted to Claire. He’d risk his life for Blinky and Draal and Arrrgh. He’s usually willing to help anyone really. He’s warm and kind and honestly such a good kid. On the surface he seems so Hufflepuff it hurts (and I really do think he belongs in Hufflepuff), but that Hufflepuff-ness falls away when his people are in danger, which is why it’s not his actual Primary.
When NotEnrique is being held down roughly by Blinky, Jim’s like ‘hey take it easy’ until NotEnrique says Claire’s in danger. Then Jim does a total 180 in a second, slamming the changeling back down on the table yelling “They’re after Claire?!”, and rushes after Claire alone, forgetting about everything else. The first time Jim breaks his personal ‘no killing’ rule is when Toby, Blinky, and Arrrgh are being attacked by the changeling in the dentist office. I thought it was when Jim killed Bular, but no it was here and Jim doesn’t hesitate, running the changeling through with his sword instead of trying to disarm her or pin her down or anything, because all he’s really thinking about is protecting his friends. Jim’s fully ready to kill Strickler for even touching his mother until Strickler mentions how he and Barbara are bound together. Only then does Jim halt but even then his sword shakes in rage for a few good seconds. That fierce personal loyalty emerges so brilliantly. Not because its the right thing to do, but because they’re his family and friends, his people.
It’s his downfall. His enemies know it. The Elder Trollhunters know it and constantly worry about it. All the past Trollhunters were able to put aside their personal connections to do their job, but Jim can’t. He can’t let his people go and they influence everything he does, and the Elders are terrified Jim will get himself, his friends, or many others killed because of it. Even at the end of the season, Jim only decides to “work alone” because he doesn’t want to lose any more of his people. Im also pretty sure the only reason Jim starts to see Strickler in a new light is because Strickler helped save Jim’s mom. I think the only way you could start to earn Jim’s trust back after losing it is by showing you care for his person(s) as much as he does. All of which is very Slytherin personal loyalty.
But Jim’s a Hufflepuff Secondary, preferring to toil and use what he’s learned from his hard work rather than blindly charge or improvise. He’s capable of improvising–probably even developing a Gryffindor Model to keep himself and others alive in a fight–but I don’t think that’s what he prefers. He doesn’t have the natural fire Toby and Claire have. He’s more steady and patient and earthy, for lack of a better term. He’s humble. Unconcerned with self accomplishment. Overall, I say Jim would fit best in Hufflepuff. He has a Slytherin’s personal loyalty, but that’s about it. Even if the Sorting Hat were to consider putting him in Slytherin, Jim would pull a Harry and beg not to be put there, so he’d end up with Toby in Hufflepuff. They’d be best Puff bros.
