The Toa Otoka
The Toa Otoka were the second Toa Team to be formed on Okoto Nui. They were formed in response to Matoran going missing along side sightings of strange, never before seen Rahi.
Each of the members of this team knew each other prior to becoming Toa, having met in Metru Nui before the Reformation. Though they bicker at times, they work together fairly well as a team.
Emana Toa of Psionics and a former Scholar and Archaeologist. She worked for the Grand Archives and studied the Agori Ruins found across the island. Though she wasn't much of a fighter, she was trained in fencing, training she puts to use as a Toa. She has an interest in the macabre, something she shares with Vhoke. She and Rakewii are in a relationship.
Rakewii Toa of Fire and mask maker. Rakewii lived in the hustle and bustle of Ta-Ifo working as a mask maker for a local mask shop. He has decent aim making him a perfect sharp shooter for his team. He's often jokey and rarely takes things seriously. He and Emana are in a relationship.
Rakota Toa of Lightning and village guard. Rakota can be incredibly blunt and rather impatient at times, but she cares deeply for her friends. She's closest to Melu, as both traveled together across Mata Nui before the move back to Metru Nui. She owns a pair of Sentinel Hounds.
Vhoke Toa of Plant Life and a former Rahi care taker. She worked at a rescue shelter in her village on Okoto Nui and has very extensive knowledge of Rahi. Her hands and feet had been modified, both for defense and locomotion. She has a pet Guurii.
Akale Toa of Iron and former caravan guard. Akale is the leader. He is the most outwardly mature, and his time as a caravan guard in Po-Oko gave him all the experience he needed to lead and protect others. He wields a heavy blaster, which has only become more powerful as a Toa.
Melu Toa of Air and former courier. Most of the Toa Team met each other through Melu. Even before the Great Cataclysm, he worked as courier in Metru Nui. He and Rokota met and traveled together on Mata Nui, and after the return to Metru Nui he met and befriended Emana and Rakewii, and would later meet Vhoke and Akale on Okoto Nui. He's not the most heroic individual, but tries his best to be useful for his team.
Though they aren't part of the Toa Team, there are several other Matoran tied to this team that try to help them in their efforts to find the source of these strange Rahi and why they are kidnapping Matoran.

Metara, Fallen Toa of Psionics
Controlling a Ce-Toa is difficult, but Makuta Reytez still made a solid attempt. A partial light drain and regular doses of antidermis mostly did the trick, but her grip was imperfect, and Metara ultimately escaped. With the assistance of another partial-Shadow Toa, and days of intense meditation, Metara was ultimately able to steady herself, and learn to control her dark powers.
Metara heavily favours telekinesis, and uses it to wield her Aura Glaive. In contrast to some of her fellow Ce-Toa, she feels uncomfortable rooting around in other people's heads, and is wary of the damage it could cause.
Like all members of Reytez's Hagah team, Metara was given two biotech implants made from crystallised Kanohi, granting her two additional powers. In particular, hers were Shielding and Quick Travel.
Metara wears a Mask of Intangibility, that was recarved to resemble a Kakama upon becoming a Toa Hagah.

Telsi, Toa of Psionics
Aqua Magna, c. 100,000 AGR
Second in command of the Toa Magrath, Telsi is looked up to with a kind of awestruck reverence by those matoran who dream of being toa one day on meki nui. Compared to her more understated brothers and sisters among the island's protectors, her exploits seem grander, her skillful fighting style more impressive, he detached personality more befitting that of a living legend. Yet in her own heart telsi knows that the greatest wisdom is humility and attentiveness, so she appreciates her teammates, stays on task, and doesn't let the matoran's hero worship go to her head. Mostly.

Do you think it was weird for Toa of Psionics meeting organic beings for the first time? Orde doesn’t seem to have any difficulty reading the minds of Spherus Magnans, so presumably they’re similar enough in structure and function overall.
But, jumping off an earlier headcanon that Matoran have a CPU in place of the lower neocortex levels, the lower levels of the brain would appear quite different. It would result in Matoran having underlying computer program instincts rather than animal instincts like the Magnan species .
So a Toa of Psionics getting a read on Magnans for the first time would be going “Okay… emotions… normal… logic and reasoning capability… normal… dreams and imagination… mostly normal… wait, why is there a lizard in here?”

I am very intrigued by how the "Toa Tool" thing works.
Like, yeah, some are made by Arthaka or other famous universe toolsmiths, but for many matoran-turned-toa, their tools are often related to their professions or straight up are tools they had in hand that are transformed alongside them during the metamorphosis.
Vakama was a mask carver, carving masks from kanoka disks, and his tool turned out to be a launcher that could use the raw materials of his profession as projectiles (well, not a hard thing considering they already are used as projectiles by many, but still...).
Takua's Chronicler staff became Takanuva's Staff of light, a powerful weapon that, coincidentally, could also function as a rather deadly version of a Kohili Stick.
These items also seem to be strongly tied with their own wielder physical being, as the toa Hagah weapons were transformed along their users, but despite this, they can also be left behind for the sake of better equipment (Mahri Kongu) which, although understandable in some cases (Two hands), still feels weird. That's not just a weapon, that's a part of you.
Its such an interesting concept that seems so often discarded in favour of elemental powers and mask, but like... Its YOUR weapon. It is related to a matoran entire being, their life, their experiences and things they enjoy. It's a way to use one's passion in a way that lets them protect others, and often also have additional functions based on what they may need. How cool is that? Think about it.
There could be a toa of ice whose job as a matoran was janitor and their weapon is a mop that can freeze its tendrils and become a morningstar, or generate a frozen layer over what its passed over, painting ice paths in an instant.
There could be a toa of air who had a passion for botany and took care of the MU version of bonsai trees, their precision shears turned into a huge, bulky pair of scissors that can be used as a broadsword that can also manipulate air currents to cut things from distance.
There could be a toa of iron whose main job was welding, and lo and behold, the clunky, cumbersome equipment he struggled to drag around became a big flamethrower that it wears like a backpack, complete with a welding mask integrated on top of their own kanohi as a visor.
There could be a Toa of stone who enjoyed the life of a performer, juggling, somersaulting, doing precision throws and whose tool is now a set of spiky or bladed clubs that can bounce on surfaces and enemies alike and then return to them.
A toa of Psionics whose dream to write stories manifested into a strange staff, originally their writing stylus, able to manifest masterful illusions by writing words inside the enemy minds and trap them in stories through the mere strength of their narration.
