Hello all of my soccer stars (I’m workshopping some names to call you guys). Since one of my most popular quizzes on Sporcle is the 2020 USWNT Roster Quiz, I decided to make one for 2021. And I will probably do the same for 2022, and maybe earlier years if there is interest.
So, without further blabbering, I give you the link to my soccer quizzes:
https://www.sporcle.com/playlists/valazzaj/soccer-playlist
Of which, the newest is the 2021 Roster Quiz. How well can you remember 2 years ago, because the answer may surprise you (it surprised me how much I forgot).

“ Honestly, I feel like some overestimated Valentina's strategy decisions. Like, yes, the decisions made in Tokyo were good decisions that made sense even prior to hindsight (ex: despite Gera being good on beam, even good beam scores were lower than mediocre vault scores. So for a higher team total, Lilia had to be on the main team). But the thing is, she didn't have to be a strategic mastermind for Russia to win gold. She just had to be a better strategist than Tom. “

Mitrevski leaps into Australian Olympic team
Chris Mitrevski has produced the standout performance on the final day of the Australian track and field championships, winning the long jump with a leap that would have secured a medal at every Olympics since 1992. The 27-year-old Victorian soared out to 8.32m to move past the likes of 1984 Olympic silver medallist Gary Honey and 1998 Commonwealth champ Peter Burge into sixth spot on the…

#OneJumpataTimeMyStory #NathanChen #BookReview #AudiobookReview #Olympics #HarperCollins #GoldMedal
I love the Olympics and the great comeback stories that always come out of the games. #OneJumpataTime by #NathanChen tells his story of falling in love with figure skating at the Salt Lake City Games and his quest to #OlympicGold #Bookreview #goldmedal
In this exhilarating memoir, three-time World Champion and Olympic gold-medalist Nathan Chen tells the story of his remarkable journey to success, reflecting on his life as a Chinese American figure skater and the joys and challenges he has experienced–including the tremendous sacrifices he and his family made, and the physical and emotional pain he endured. When three-year-old Nathan Chen tried…

🥇🇩🇪 Happy 2 year anniversary to Alexander's Olympic Gold Medal at the Tokyo Olympics
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It's so hard to believe it's been 2 years since Alexander's monumental win at Tokyo 2020. It was such an incredible moment, he played such beautiful tennis throughout the whole tournament, stopped a top-form Djokovic who had just won 3/3 of that year's Grand Slams en route to becoming the first ever German man to win the Olympic tennis Singles Gold medal 🥰
I still remember like it was yesterday; most of the matches took place in the middle of the night UK time, so I stayed away from any news sources that could have spoiled the results and watched each match the following day. And I vividly remember smiling so much when he won that final gold medal-winning match, and the emotional moment of seeing him stood on the top step of the podium, so happy to see him happy 🥹❤️
And it's truly moving seeing how many people came out to celebrate the win, all the fans who lined the streets of Hamburg to welcome back their Olympic champion, and the heartwarming site of him embracing his parents and Lövik ☺️❤️
No-one deserved it more than you, Alexander. And I'm so happy you can properly celebrate your 2-year anniversary of winning Olympic Gold having just won the Hamburg Open. Both are proof of what you are capable of: the culmination of your mental fortitude and all your hard work and dedication to the sport. Congratulations again, and good luck for the rest of the year. We are so proud of you ❤️
(The video of the supporters who came to welcome Alexander back when he landed in Germany is from @ ransport on IG)
