Just a random ask, what are some weird JTTW adaptations you’ve seen or heard about?

I can’t even begin to call them all but… if you bear with me, I shall try.

Here are a few games that I always found funny additions!

Starting off strong we have Journey to the West: Undersea Adventure (2021)! I have never seen it but LOOK AT IT.... THEY FISH

Six-eared Monkey (2021) where Six Ears goes back in time, accidentally adopts Wukong not knowing he is his future enemy and gives his life to save Child-Wukong despite knowing who he grows up to be.

Wukong's Christmas Adventure (2019) is like... saving Ruphdolh or something and Wukong is going through a mid-life crisis and also kinda depressed but CHRISTMAS. Also the Erlang and Nezha models in this movies are TERRIFYING... and also they have Wukong rap so take a look.

Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons (2013) is weird but like in a GREAT way like... I love the monster designs they give Wukong, Bajie, and Wujing, it is such a different vibe then any other movie I have seen and Honestly LOVE It for that. Really sells just how HUMAN Sanzang is dealing with POWERFUL YAO that could kill him in a second.

Bling (2016) is strong that it didn't hAVE to be Xiyouji coded characters like the Monkey, Pig, and Frog are robot storage performers, wannabe heroes and they follow their creator who is trying to propose to his girlfriend but there really is not journey or ANY need to have the robot being Wukong, Bajie, and Wujing.

Spark: A Space Tail (2016) is also BARELY a Xiyouji film but like it does have a monkey with a staff and turns out he is the son of a king and a queen of monkey planet. Really more like Lion King with the evil uncle trying to take over but with space monkeys.... and also Bajie is there.

Mo mo King (2011) is something I'm not completely sure what's it about but just that it is like a whole monkey island that Wukong-like protag works at... and also Bajie is there.

Devil's Chip (2002) again NO idea what it is really about but there is space and time travel and for some ungodly reason no wukong from what I have seen but Sanzang and Bajie company the space/time travler

Flying Monkid (1996) I have no idea why this was ever MADE like there is barely a connection to Wukong and every other demon is new or some kind of version that is barely recognizable, not to mention the animation is barely any better than Pixal art.

Flying Superboard (1990) I always just found this one strange from the animation to the art style to the design choices. Like making Wukong some kind of skateboard, nunchuck, mouse-looking creature and giving Bajie a machine gun is.... something. I have no idea what they did to Wujing, made him like a bat, goblin thing.

Midnight Goku (1989) is like a sci-fi detective story where the protag has like computer eyes that can see through people and a bo-staff and honestly, I haven't seen but just the STRETCH they use to make this Wukong-related is so insane like would have never thought of it.

Little Wukong (1987) honestly not SURE what this story is even about but like... it is nearly lost media, this is so obscure and out of the way I have a feeling it was probs a children's education show or something but idk.

The Legend of Red Boy (1989) is something that looks like candy land spat out and while I have not seen it I am so sure that it is filled with nonsensical elements I cannot begin to describe.

King Kong's Adventures in the Heavenly Palace (1959) is... more of a crossover than anything else. Just imagine a movie where instead of Wukong destroys heaven... it is Kind Kong. Legit THE king Kong from the OTHER MOVIES YES.

Pink Journey to the West (2015) is honestly not that strong I would say besides that it is just Journey to the West but they are all girls... haven't seen it but who knows maybe it is good!

Overwatch with Xiyouji skins just think it is adorable honestly. Love the Winston as Wukong

And while this isn't EVERY weird (there is a lot) one these are that I thought were at least interesting enough. Like a lot of Xiyouji movies have strange plotpoint but honestly, they are more boring and confusing than anything memorable. At least these were the ones I always thought were fun!

I know I haven't posted anything about the Strikes in a while, but I just wanted to drop this little anecdote for the conversations of 'well, if the writers want more money, they should writer things people actually want to watch':

Apparently the writers for the Sonic the Hedgehog movies were approached by Warner Bros to make a Tom and Jerry movie. And the moment those writers DARED to say 'hey, maybe a Tom and Jerry movie should... Focus on TOM and JERRY rather than some random human characters', Warner Bros booted them from the project and we ended up getting that... Confusing Tom and Jerry movie back in 2021 instead.

So, again, for every Nepotism baby who will just write whatever because they know they have mummy and daddy's money to fall back on, there are a dozen who actually want to write good scripts but are either browbeaten into writing crap or dismissed by executives and producers who are horrifically disconnected from what audiences want.

Leave me alone

Iv been seeing so many avatar modern au’s ( @naavispider & @lost-girl-2021 ) and it inspired me to do this little snippet of an idea/small story

In this situation spider was told he was going to be moving in with Quaritch the next day. This is very angsty so warning

It was really happening. this monster finally got what he wanted, to take me away from my happiness, friends, where he grew up. Spider sat at the bottom of his bed, knees tucked into chest thinking of what was going to happen to him. Then the idea sparked he wasn’t going to let Quaritch take him.

He grabbed his duffel bag and packed the essentials toothbrush, soap, clothes, small blanket, water bottle, pocket knife, torch, rope, phone charger, headphones and teddy bear (kiri gave it to him years ago for his birthday). It all fitted nicely into his bag, in a smaller bag he put all his money and coins he found all around his room. He was ready, he had hidden all of his things ready for tonight. “ dinners ready!” Jake shouted from down stairs.

Dinner was awkward, no one knew what do say so their was a sad silence across the hole table. Spiders heart was beating fast it felt like it was about to break. He was struggling to breathe, he swallowed his food and took a deep breath of his inhaler. Everyone looked at him, now they knew how scared spider was. Lo’ak put a comforting hand on spider’s back, Lo’ak then gave him a smile. With such a little face movement it said a lot of words like ‘it’s okay buddy we are all feeling the same’. They continued eating, once dinner was done Neytiri said she would clean the dishes.

When they went up stairs they all hung out in Lo’aks room, after awhile the thought that spider was leaving tomorrow left and they were all laughing and joking around playing. Spider looked at the clock 9:17pm, please slow down spider thought to himself. “I’m going to bed now sorry” Lo’ak huffed their was a croak in his voice it was clear how sad and tired he was. Spider gave him a hug spider felt a tear roll down his shirt on his back, Lo’ak was crying. Kiri & Neteyam left the room to give them privacy. “Please don’t leave” Lo’ak begged. Spider let out a sigh and left Lo’ak to sleep a tear rolled down spider’s cheek when he glanced back at Lo’ak. What made it worse for spider is that Lo’ak thought he was going to see him tomorrow.

Spider walked to Kiris room, he would miss her beautiful room filled with plants and her 2 gold fish Tom and Jerry. “You can feed them” Kiri offered passing him the fish food container. Spider dropped In a pinch of food. They sat on Kiris bed talking with Neteyam. It was not as funny with Lo’ak but it was still nice conversation.

“Night kids” Jake and Neytiri yelled from down stairs. Their was silence after that, spider heard Tuk and Lo’aks soft crying in the background. Neteyam stood up and walked to the door and giving spider a small wave and smiled before he left. It was him and Kiri, spider sat on the floor and got Kiri to braid his hair like Neteyam and Lo’aks, she didn’t know why and that was good. Kiri passed spider an envelope ‘your first decoration for your new room’ was written in perfect cursive. Kiris writing was as pretty as her.

“I’m going to bed now” spider croaked leaving Kiris room. He stood in front of his door and listened now he could hear all of them crying Lo’ak, Tuk, Neteyam and Kiri. Spider put on his jumper and put on his bag and skateboard on the bed. he waited until the house went dead quiet, even Kiris quiet music stoped. Spider snuck down stairs to the kitchen and shoved around 50 muesli bars into his bag. He put on a hat and put a pair of sunglasses in his pocket, he grabbed a pack of garbage bags and a spare house key, he wrote a letter

Dear Sullys

Thank you so much for looking after me for all these years, your such a caring family for taking me in. I’m sorry to leave you but I can’t bear living with Quaritch after what he did, so I’m going off the grid. I’m sorry for taking the things I took but I hope you understand. Once again I am very sorry and I couldn’t of asked for a better family xoxo- Spider.

Spider left the note in the microwave and left outside. Spider spotted Kiris push bike it had a basket on it and bungee cords Tuk used as a ‘seatbelt’ and it was fast. Spider secured his duffel bag and skateboard in the basket and started riding away, running away. After around 20 minutes of riding spider checked to time 12:15am, around 5 hours until Jake wakes up and around 7 hours until someone probably notices I’m gone.

spider rode on Kiris bike as fast as he could like his future depended on it which it did breathing from his inhaler every 30 minutes. finally the edge of the forest he looked at the time as he saw the sun starting to peak through the clouds 5:47am. Now it’s time to hide he rode his bike down the bush path tall trees reaching to the sky. The sun was fully out now as it peeked through the tree tops, Spider was puffed this much riding for a kid with asthma wasn’t the right sute.

Spider reached a little bridge over a puddle it wasn’t connected to a river, spider was confused why it was there. He took out all of his stuff from the basket and put Kiris bike underneath the bridge. Spider grabbed the bungee cords form the bike as well. The forest was thick around where he was and we’re he was going, he wandered off the path jumping over fallen trees deep into the forest.

Spiders tummy grumbled he was hungry, he looked at the time 4:23pm night was near. He climbed up a tree and used the rope he packed to tie himself to it, he had watched enough survival shows with Jake to know what to do. He used the bungee cords to keep his duffel bag secure. He sat there eating his muesli bars, looking up at the sky. He loved going camping the nature and stars with Kiri and Lo’ak . He wondered what would they be doing, he didn’t have to think to hard as he knew there probably looking for him. He knew that they would be devastated, and what he knew was correct they were.

I might do a part2 not to sure 80% chance depending if you want it or me to write something else.

The Million Dollar Cat (1944) Tom gets a million dollars so long as he doesn't harm Jerry. When Jerry follows him to his new home, Tom goes to attack him when Jerry points out the telegram. Tom kisses Jerry's cheek, then tries to flee.

Nit Witty Kitty (1951) 2. After being annoyed with Tom acting as a mouse, Jerry tries to hit his head and return him to normal. When he succeedes and Tom is back to normal again, Jerry is so happy he gives Tom a large kiss on the lips.

Nit Witty Kitty (1951) 3. Tom is hit on the head again by his owner and returned to being a mouse. When Jerry goes to sit on his bed in disappointment, Tom goes in the mouse hole and kisses his cheek, then steals his bed.

Hic cup Pup (1954) Spike will beat up Tom if he wakes Tyke. Jerry straps horns to his feet, goes to where Tom is waiting outside his house hole and gives him a big kiss under his nose, barks, and then they chase.

Little School Mouse (1954) Tuffy, after passing how to outwit cats tests by being nice to Tom, teaches that cats and mice should be friends. Jerry shakes his head in disagreement. Tom nodds his head in agreement wirh Tuffy, takes off Jerry's dunce hat, then kisses Jerry on the forehead.

Mouse for Sale (1955) Jerry is treated as a dancing house pet so long as he is colored white. Tom eventually paints himself white and the owner agrees to let him in "but you must promise to be friends [with Jerry]". He gives Jerry a little kiss and nods. He then dances to beat up Jerry.

Tom and Jerry Dell Comics (1949-1980) 1

#106 (May, 1953): Tom abandons chasing Jerry and Tuffy in favor of trying to hunt a bird. Jerry and Tuffy get jealous and try to dress up like the bird so Tom would still technically be chasing them. Tom shoots the "bird" and a woman gets angry at him for hunting it. Jerry and Tuffy go to rescue Tom from the woman by scaring her, she lets Tom go. They chase briefly before Tom catches them and gives Jerry a kiss for helping him out.

Gene Deitch [1961-1962] 1

Buddies Thicker than Water (1962) Tom is freezing and starving while Jerry is hidden in a penthouse. After Jerry drags him inside and warms him with a heated blanket, Tom gives Jerry a kiss on the cheek. Jerry then makes him instant food.

Chuck Jones [1963-1967] 4

Is There a Doctor in the Mouse? (1964) Jerry invents a potion that makes him go fast and eats Tom's food before he can. After eating the banana, he tries running away in the peel. Tom picks him up and peels back the banana peel. Jerry gives him a peck on the lips, then escapes right as the potion fails.

Ah, Sweet Mouse Story of Life (1965) Tom gets stretched after chasing Jerry down a downtake pipe. Jerry helps him escape by blowing the air horn. Tom thanks him by giving him many kisses on his forehead. Jerry wants more kisses, but Tom realizes Jerry tastes delicious and tries to bite him. Tom is still long.

The Brothers Carry Mouse Off (1965) Tom puts on a costume and perfume to look like a female mouse. Jerry instantly falls for it and kisses his hand and arms. However, many other mice also fall for Tom, and so Jerry continues kissing a path away from Tom. Jerry then watches the disguised Tom get chased by a bunch of cats as the camera pans to a heart on the tree and then the end credits.

Guilded Mouse ille (1967) Tom gets blasted back to the stone age. Tom is about to clobber Jerry when Jerry offers him the bone he was nibbling on to share. While nibbling, Tom accidentally kisses Jerry. Realizing he is tasty, he gives Jerry several kisses on the cheek. Then tries to actually eat him. (Counting under other)

The Tom and Jerry Comedy show (1980-1982) 1

Farewell, Sweet Mouse: Tom floods Jerry's mouse hole, the resulting water pushes him into the rain and pops his balloon, leading Tom to gleefully think he drowned. When Tom gets back, he looks at a picture of him and Jerry, imagines Jerry as an angel, and Angel Jerry kisses picture him's cheek. (Counted under other category due to it being a Jerry kiss, but Tom's imagination.)

Tom and Jerry Kids (1990-1993) 1

Hawkeye Tom: in a move that's a similar to Sufferin' Cats and A Mouse in the House , Jerry puts himself in Tom's hands then kisses Tom's cheek before sticking his tongue out in taunt to a bird.

Tom and Jerry tales (2006-2008) 2

Abracadumb: Tom was looking for Jerry under cups, but Jerry was on Tom's shoulder. Before Tom can retaliate against Jerry, Jerry gives him a kiss on the cheek and gets caught between Tom's hand

Don't bring your pet to School day: Tom tries to eat Jerry. Tom's owner tells Tom to say he's sorry to Jerry. Tom gives Jerry a kiss on the forehead. And again. Once more that's more of a suck and then he eats him.

The Tom and Jerry Show (2014) (2014-2021?) 8

Bottled Up Emotions: Love potion (in bubble form) hits Jerry and he falls in love with Tom. Kisses his nose. Kisses his hand when Tom tries to shove him off. Kisses feet when Tom tries to push him away.

Return to Sender: Flower shop owner picks Tom and Jerry by scruffs of their neck, sings "take a chance, to romance", then forces them to kiss

Splinter of Discontent: Tom begs Jerry and Tuffy for help as Tyke has a splinter and Spike is threatening to hurt him. Jerry agrees to help and Tom kisses his feet.

Catitude Adjustment: Tom had been under a spell that made him too clingey/nice to Jerry. At the end of the episode they get him back to normal and he chases Jerry again. Jerry makes a stop gesture, Tom leans down and glares, Jerry gives Tom a kiss with a heart to Tom's confusion.

From Riches to Rags: Jerry, after losing to Tom all day and going to bed starving, has a dream where Tom is his servant and Jerry harasses Tom until they get into a fight. After getting hit by a chandelier he wakes up, runs downstairs to Tom who is asleep, gives him a hug and kiss on the nose, lookes sheepish, kicks his nose and then the episode ends as they chase one another.

Kiss and Makeup: Toodles (Called Misty Makeup Marvin in this short) has magic and wants to kiss Tom with this evil Lipstick in hopes to mind control(?) him so she can retire in the haunted mansion he lives in. Jerry and Tuffy have been trying to prevent this kiss from happening. When Toodles goes for a kiss on the couch, Jerry jumps in between and gets a kiss from both of them on the cheeks. Then Jerry turns into a bat.

Mirror Image: Tom gets stuck in the mirror dimension and there's an evil mirror Tom in the real world. Tuffy, who is trapped with Tom, tells Jerry to make the evil Tom touch the mirror so they can get out. Jerry does so, and Tom escapes with both Tuffy and Jerry in his hands. He gives them both a kiss on a cheek before laughing at his mirror self's misfortune.

Pumpkin Punks: Jerry is hiding in root vegetables, popping out to taunt Tom, then going back underground. When Tom gets tired, he pops out and gives him a kiss on the cheek with lots of hearts (then waves and runs away so Tom can chase him)

Tom and Jerry Movie (2021) 1

1:33:50 Spike, Tom and Jerry begin to chase and start to destroy the wedding. Human cast gives them disapproving look. Spike apologies and Tom kisses Jerry to show they are friends. Tom closes ending curtain then goes back to chasing Jerry

Tom and Jerry in New York (2021-) 1

Dream Team: Tom dreams he's in a basketball game against Butch, but due to cheating/skill he has no points. Jerry climbs into the ball and helps him win, however becomes very dizzy. When he topples out of the ball, Tom picks him up and gives him several kisses. Then he gives the real Jerry an ice cream bar, to Jerry's confusion. (Tom's imagination but we're counting it under Tom kiss)

Here’s the Cartoon Network schedule for Monday, November 1 to Sunday, November 7, 2010.

First off, let's talk how many shows there are on the schedule. 34 SHOWS are on the schedule. in 2023, CN only airs about 13 shows a week (not including ACME Night or Cartoonito, but definitely better than how it was back in 2021). But let's take into account that the schedule is broken down into 4 sections at this time:

Section 1: Weekday Morning Anime

This was where the anime (Bakugan, Beyblade, Pokemon) aired, might also include some action cartoons (Ben 10, Hero: 108, Hot Wheels) aired.

Section 2: Old Cartoons during Mid-morning/Early Afternoon

You'll probably remember in your youth, when you were "sick", These shows aired during that time, semi-recent cartoons that ended aired at the time (Lazlo, KND, Gym Partner, Chowder), some imports (JT, Garfield), and Tom and Jerry.

Section 3: After School Cartoons

I would consider 2pm the start of the After-School hours, although some schools don't let kids out until 3pm. Some imports (JT, League of Super Evil), some older, but beloved, toons (Billy & Mandy, Ed, Edd n Eddy, Courage), and the 6pm hour was a rotating slot (This month had live action shows at the 6pm slot) that would be followed by some primetime shows, or Garfield.

Section 4: Primetime

This was the gem for CN at the time. Mondays had the newest hits, notably Adventure Time and Regular Show, other new toons like MAD and the underrated short-lived Robotomy, Canadian toons like Johnny Test and Total Drama World Tour, and reruns of Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated.

Tuesdays and Wednesdays were the days that they aired Live Action shows, Tuesday was the more serious side (Tower Prep, made by Batman writer Paul Dini), while Wednesday had the more wacky side (as in it felt like TruTV's live action of the time) of Live Action Shows (Destroy Build Destroy, Dude, What Would Happen?, and Hole in the Wall, the one that had the families, not the FOX version). Listen, I know Live Action didn't belong on CN, but I was 5, so I remember them fondly.

Thursday was a repeat day for Monday, as they previously had a new Thursday night block before Mondays were the night. but Friday is where all the new Action shows aired. Shows like Generator Rex, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, Star Wars: the Clone Wars, and Sym-Bionic Titan all aired on this night.

If you missed anything on Friday (besides Batman, but who didn't watch Brave and the Bold on Fridays), they all aired on Saturday Morning, in between anime like Pokemon, Beyblade, and Bakugan. Saturday also had a couple Pokemon episodes that led to a Pokemon Movie.

Speaking of Movies, Cartoon Network had them, Saturdays at 8pm is when the Flicks aired. This week, Flubber reran. (the movie with Robin Williams playing a Scientist who creates some Flying Rubber), that would later air next day at 7pm.

Also, yes, this was when back when CN had the 9pm hour. CN had that hour up until the next month. I really miss primetime CN, and how it was scheduled like this.

Sym-Bionic Titan - Friday at 8p

Generator Rex - Friday at 8:30p

Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Friday at 9p

The Super Hero Squad Show - Saturday at 6:30a

Beyblade: Metal Fusion - Saturday at 7:30a

Bakugan Battle Brawlers: Gundalian Invaders - Saturday at 10a

Run it Back (a show recapping a week in the NBA, not a really notable CN show) - Sunday at 8a
