You see if i played Tommy Ross in Carrie: The Musical during the scene where Tommy asks Carrie out and the prom scene I would make Tommy seem more reluctant to ask out/dance with Carrie.

Back to Beginnings
Thanks so much to @mangywayway for the hand over ^^ Here's my contribution to the @harringrove-relay-race. Second year participating and looking forward to seeing everyone's contributions <3 My fic this year is focused on Billy and Steve going to California for a basketball match. Back to Billy's home town where he's not only faced with some of his past but also a bright future. This is also based on some of the story beats from Volume 6 of one of my favourite sports graphic novel series, Fence. Over to the wonderful @sepulchralsmile for the next contribution to this relay race :3 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Okay everyone, get on the coach please!" The boys jostled each other playfully as they fought for the right to be at the back of the bus. Billy on the other hand couldn't really care for it. His mind not only fixed on the game ahead of them, but on the fact for the first time, he'd be going back to where he was from. Facing the school he'd have been at if his dad hadn't dragged him away to Hawkins. If his mom hadn't just....upped and left him. He didn't have a clue what his life might have been like, only he couldn't imagine it being like this. He'd have been able to stay with Argyle and his friends. He'd have been able to continue to surf and go to the beach every day. Carefree. He would have been able to see his mom's beautiful smile, her flowing dress and big white hats as she joined him on the sand. Instead he was stuck with a sarcastic step sister. A quiet as a mouse step mom and a dad who he swore got meaner as the years crawled by. California had used to be a haven for him. A safe place with his mom and the waves and the breeze which he missed so much. Everything in Hawkins felt stale in comparison. Like it was just browns and greens all merged into a mess and not the bright colours or freedom he associated with California. The beach and the sand. But then there was also the...feelings. The truth was, California felt like both a blessing and a curse deep down. He really wanted to return but at the same time, it felt like home had been ripped away a really long time ago.
Steve Harrington on the other hand, he didn't have those worries. Cos what did wonder boy have to worry about? His perfect hair? His big house with the private pool? Fine cuisine? The guy had everything but the Captain position. And the guy for some reason didn't seem to be vying for that. He seemed to be just fine, hanging out with Tommy Hagan, bantering with the guys. To be fair, Billy liked their Captain. Ross Patricks was not only a good guy but he'd really turned the team around. Brought them up to standard, made them a force to be reckoned with. Pity he was a senior. Billy knew this competition was final call for Ross. One final chance to show that he could take a team to victory. It would certainly seal his chances too; he knew teams were already interested in Ross but being at the top of the High School League would set him up well for that NBA place he so wanted, and in Billy's opinion deserved. Steve on the other hand, had his head stuck in a different place. His dad being out of state again meant he'd been home alone for a week before finally this trip had come around, And boy had he been counting down the days. Tommy had helped, staying over with him a couple of nights when Carol was busy. Carol joining them other nights so that Steve was rarely alone. He'd been struggling recently with loneliness and what he thought of as the "sads" so he appreciated them keeping an eye on him. He'd tried to swim and train too, in the moments he'd been alone, but his mind hadn't been into it. He also had other concerns too. His growing and apparent crush on a rival of his. Master Billy Hargrove. Him and Billy...well they at first hadn't seen eye to eye at all. They'd been rivals, vying for the same position on the Hawkins Tigers basketball team. Hargrove had also gotten it into his head somehow that Steve was also desperate for the Captain spot. He wasn't. Basketball wasn't really his sport of interest, but as his dad had ruined his chances of making it in baseball, basketball was the next best thing. He had swimming too. But that was more a lone sport than a team one and he'd not wanted any more time in his head than necessary. So he'd made extra effort to get on this team. In the end both him and Hargrove had made the cut. Steve spending more time on the bench but he was slowly getting more play time. And Hargrove? Well he was centre stage most matches and Steve had to admit; the guy had talent. His three score technique was flawless. And as then as a team? They worked pretty damn well. It had been slow progress but the pair really had something going on and more and more they were working together rather than against each other. And whilst Steve hated to admit it, it felt rather nice. -------------An hour later-----------
In the dorm room, the boys were already staking their claims to bunks. Their bags shortly joined by their bodies as they slammed down on their chosen spot. Looking around, Billy noticed how Harrington had beelined for the right hand corner and of course had taken the top bunk. Typical, but it also brought a smile to his face. Yeah people could say it was the whole King thing and maybe it still was a little but Billy also knew something different. A slight twist to it. Steve knew, through the pair having shared the same room for the past year when at away games, that Billy sometimes suffered from night terrors. So the bottom bunk was safer for him, in case he rolled out and ended up on the floor. Less distance to fall, less chance of injury. And so when he finally got to him, he nodded up to Harrington who was taking a moment to rest. A thumbs up from him and Billy was slowly opening his bag on his newly claimed bunk. Laying out his kit and clothes, toiletries, Billy lined it all up carefully. Checking that he had everything and that he'd not have to venture to a store to buy anything during their down time. That would suck; even having to go and buy something stupid like a toothbrush would totally blow the mood. Waste valuable rest time. But thankfully nothing had been missed and Billy could breathe easy. Relax. And actually face this town without preoccupations. Well....sort of. As the others started to group and pair off and move out, Steve hopped off the bed and went to do the same. Nodding to a small group that included Hagan and Ross before turning to Billy, and seeming to think better of it. Moving a little closer to him instead and waiting for the others to go. For once, the King, almost seemed nervous. Standing still next to him but tapping his foot a little. Not in impatience but almost like it was involuntary, and as Billy turned, he looked almost shy? Nah. Steve Harrington shy? Never. The man didn't even know what shy was. "Well," Steve started, looking at the door and then at Billy, a hand going to the back of his neck. "Seeing as we have time to kill, I thought we could go to the beach."
Billy watched as the rest of the room cleared out, his eyes on them before going back to Steve. What an assumption to make. But under his skin, his heart was starting to race. His cheeks already feeling heated. Would this be the moment? The moment he'd been thinking about over and over recently? "And pray tell Harrington, what do you plan that we all do whilst there?" An unusual silence descended before Steve shrugged, his hand now going onto his hip and then added, "Oh I wasn't planning on inviting the others. Thought it could just be me and you." It was only when they finally got out into the corridor after Steve had patiently waited for Billy to repack and zip his bag up, that it became clear, why. "Just us.....?" Billy blinked, actually taken aback. Nah, it was a hang out. Stop with the nonsense Billy. But the way Steve looked at him and then scratched the back of his neck. Face starting to actually flush and his eyes darting away. Well holy shit..... "Wait...is Steve Harrington asking me..." "To have a nice romantic walk with him on the beach?" The other chuckled, but the hand didn't move off the back of his neck and Billy realised, oh shit. Yeah. Yeah he really was. "Yeah I guess I am man. If you wanna....." "Yes. Yes I do. Can I.....can I go and get changed?" Billy gestured at his outfit, chuckling before Steve joined in. Him leaning against the wall as Billy shook his head and laughed. About time, about freaking time. What had taken them so long? Fear! Embarrassment? A misunderstanding? It didn't matter now. It was happening. It was real. "Sure man. See you in 20? I'll go and do the same.
------------40 minutes later--------
This wasn't where he'd imagined going whilst back here. In fact, he'd planned not to. But the offer from Steve, to actually spend some time with him, was too good an opportunity to miss. The guy had even dressed up a little and so Billy had too. A nice black shirt and jeans combo. Hair nicely in curls, the little one he so loved flicking out the front. And Harrington…well he always looked great. Today rocking up in a red t-shirt and jeans and one of his many pairs of Nikes.
"So what's it like being back?"
"Strange….." And it was. Really really surreal in fact. Like part of him had stayed on this beach all this time. But thats not what he said back to Steve. Instead, he snorted, glancing back at the other guy and grinning.
"Don't tell me you only invited out here to get my backstory."
"No but I mean….. If you wanna tell me a bit about yourself, it would be good. I don't really know you man." Steve then chuckles in turn, "other than knowing you have quite the thing for my leg."
"Well you seem to like putting your ass there," Billy grunted, though with no malice and a playful tone. Still grinning as he fully turned to face Steve who'd parked himself on the sand. Billy elected to join him.
"Cos you keep getting closer enough that I can feel your breath on my neck."
"Well quit wearing your pretty boy cologne to basketball matches then."
That set them both off. Laying back, they cackled together in the sand. Holding onto their ribs until it hurt to breathe. Billy feeling like his spirit was lifted. It shouldn't be so funny. In fact it wasn't, but there was just something about this easy banter that seemed to have gotten to both of them.
Soon though, a familiar figure in the distance soon had his mood plummeting. Him bolting up right as Steve slowly got up beside him. A look of deep concern Billy rarely show on his face.
No…it…it wasn't. It wasn't her. Their silhouette had just so similar that for a moment, he'd thought it was. And that….hurt. It stung so deeply and he looked away for a moment. He didn't want Steve's pity or sympathy but, he wasn't going to get it if he didn't try to at least explain.
"My mom…..she left when I was little. Troubles with my dad. Fighting, shouting you know all that shit." He waved a hand in the air as if it didn't matter, but Steve could see it did. It really mattered. Whatever Billy was about to say was clearly hard for him to spit out.
"I thought she'd come back for me you know. After she'd settled. That's what she'd said she would do man. I used to ring her and. Well you know that Susan and Maxine are in the picture and she's not. So you can figure out how things turned out."
"Shit man….."
What could he really say to that?
"Yeah…but hey. You know."
Steve kept looking at him. Wondering where the sudden bitterness had come from. Should he say more? What could you say to a guy who'd just told you he'd been abandoned by his own mom? Left in a household known for heinous things? He'd heard the rumours after all. Seen the bruises. Billy's dad was a prick of the highest order and Billy? He wasn't the best but he didn't deserve to be treated worse than shit under someone's shoe.
Looking out at the waves, Billy could feel the rage building. But the waves also brought with them a familiar scent, which filled his mind with a strange comfort. Let him calm down a little but erased none of the bitterness from his voice.
"It's not like you'd get it. I mean, you're the King of Hawkins High. Golden boy extraordinaire."
"It's….."
Billy stared out to the ocean, his eyes tracing over the horizon as he waited for Steve to continue. He might have seemed more interested in the landscape to the casual bystander, but he was listening. There was something about Steve's tone which had caught him off guard. Was the King of Hawkins High struggling? What did he have to sound so down and out about?
"My dad. He's this high and mighty business man. Has his own company as you know. But everyone thinks that it's all sunshine and roses and it's just….such bullshit."
The way Steve seemed to chew on the words, to Billy, was like the guy has a bitter taste in his mouth. Like he's just sucked on a lemon and would do anything to get rid of the taste.
"It's so easy for people to look at the big house and think everything is okay. But when the house is empty and your own voice echoes from the walls… Everyone just sees the image man. Even those who I really thought didn't just want me for that."
He'd not expected any of this. Nevertheless from Steve Harrington of all people. But didn't it just go to show what happened behind closed doors? Billy was internally kicking himself. He should have known there could be more to things. He knew better himself. To have placed Steve in a box he didn't belong, it didn't feel right. Guess rich kids could really come with their own issues which money really couldn't buy their way out of.
"I'm sorry man. Really I am," he sighed, looking over at Steve who looked small than Billy had ever seen him.
"That freaking sucks. Families…they're meant to be there for us. They're meant to protect us but more and more I hear people say how theirs fail them. That it ain't like it is in the movies. Makes me wonder if it is for anyone."
"I….I dunno man. I see it from time to time." Steve shrugged, his eyes on the sand and Billy found himself moving closer to him. Wanting to take Steve in his arms. Because it's clear that Billy had stumbled over something which the other had been hiding for a really long time. The way Steve was now visibly struggling, like if he didn't't hold onto himself, he'd just fall apart. And Billy doesn't want that for him. He wanted to do something.
"I know of a place."
Steve looked up, big hazel eyes like a puppy. Billy wished he could take it all back. The thoughts, the cursing. Even though Steve would never know all of them, he can see in the way he looked at him that he knows some of it at least.
Steve Harrington may not have the top grades but he wasn't stupid and Billy knew that. Noone got to the top of the social ladder through stupidity and it's rare that the most popular kid was also the smartest. And they didn't need to be.
"A place that has the most amazing sundaes."
"You…eating sundaes?"
"Don't sound so surprised Harrington. I know I'm in peak condition but a fit guy can still indulge you know."
That had Steve snorting, rolling his eyes as he drew an arm across his face and then pushed himself up off the sand. More looking like the guy Billy knew than the scared, sad kid who Billy now feared lurked behind the doors of the house he knew did not contain all he'd thought it had.
Patting Steve gently on the shoulder before getting up, walking with him, side by side, Billy felt a shift between them. But not in a bad way. It may have not been the romantic walk Steve had wanted. But it was the walk they had both needed. --------Twenty minutes later--------------
As soon as Billy walked into the sundae store, it felt like walking back in time. The decor had been slightly modernised. A fresh lick of paint, different materials and brand new booths and a shining floor. But the layout, the colour scheme? It was all still just like the last time he'd come here. All blues, yellows and whites, with big booths in the middle and small ones around the sides.
And there she was, the woman herself. Owner and main waitress. A familiar face after all this time. And over there near the window had been his spot. The place he'd always gotten to with his friends. A spot right next to the window and a fantastic view of the ocean.
"William? Oh my heavens, it really is you!!"
Maisie trotted over to him, arms around him and a big kiss on both cheeks. Which Billy would have minded from other people but not Maisie. She was one of his favourite people in this whole town and so in a rare moment, Billy hugged her back. Not caring if Steve found it strange or weird. Finally a face that he saw home in here.
After letting Billy go, Maisie stood in front of Steve, like a mother seeing a new partner for the first time. Scrutiny written on her face before smiling in approval and saying "Now whose this handsome young man William?"
"Steve Harrington. He's my date," Billy grinned, all the while watching Steve for his reaction. Which was pretty much what he expected; a cool grin. But what he didn't expect was the flash of shyness in his face before it fluttered away.
Nodding to the window seat, he then added, "'m okay taking my usual spot Mais?"
"You can have any seat in the house my dear," she beamed, stepping to the side to let Steve through. "Lovely meeting you dear, I'll be right over to take your order."
"Nice to meet you too Maisie, real nice place you have here."
Always the freaking charmer. But Billy just smiled, leading the way over to the table. Excitement bouncing in every step. Steve seemed to really like the place and that meant a lot. He'd hoped, no, prayed Steve wouldn't turn his nose up at it. Think it was beneath him and he hadn't. Another assumption smashed.
He couldn't stop staring. This was ridiculous.
Sat here with and his tiny ice cream whilst he was here with his favourite sundae. Cream and chocolate and banana and glory. That wasn't the ridiculous part though. It was just being here. With Steve. Their legs barely touching under the table but feeling like electric. The way the guy looked up at him from time to time with those soft eyes and something under them which made his heart pitter patter. Like that rabbit out of the deer carton, which he couldn't remember the name of right now. Because he still can't believe that finally they'd gotten to go out on a date. And despite the way his heart ached due to the events of earlier, he wouldn't change it for the world.
He knew Steve better than he ever had done. Never would he have thought they'd be more similar than their love for basketball and cars but it turns out that beneath the surface, the pretty boy had a lot going on. And Billy wanted to find out so much more. Know about about the guy under the crown. Who Steve really was. Not the mask or the image. The real freaking deal.
"DUDE!"
Drawn out of his thoughts and staring, his spoon stuck in a scoop of chocolate ice-cream, Billy's head spun towards the entrance. He'd would recognise that voice anywhere in the world. One of the guys who had had such an impact on his life. His brother from another mother and the guy who he'd been hoping to see more than anyone in Cali. Argyle. His best friend, his amigo.
"Amigo!!"
Big hugs, high fives and chatter was what surrounded the group as Steve sat at the table. He'd watched the four guys approach and then Billy jump up hastily to greet them. Smiling softly at the scene, he listened to them catch up in fast forward. It must be nice to reunite after all this time. Shame they couldn't stick around for longer.
Billy was positively glowing, something which Steve didn't see in Hawkins. A light in his eyes the town clearly extinguished. Steve wondered what it was like to have to leave a place where you clearly belonged to be shoved somewhere so alien and unfamiliar. He'd lived in Hawkins all of his life after all. Glimpses of other places coming from holidays and the few business trips he'd been taken on before he became the man of the house more often than not. Expected to be responsible, to do the right thing.
It felt like in different ways, they'd both been robbed of something but in this place, maybe they could just put that aside for a moment.
"And whose the handsome amigo you have here then?" Argyle gestured, a white smile as wide as the guy's face as he tilted his open cap towards Steve.
"This is Steve and well, just had to show him the sights whilst we're here."
"The sights huh? Well if I don't see you amigos at Surfer Boys pizza at some point whilst you're here, I'm going to be so sad."
"Can't ever have that man." Another high five and then Argyle and the others nodded. A friendly smile to Steve before the group turned to find their own booth. Giving the pair some privacy again.
Steve smiled, looking back at Billy. His friends, they seemed so different from who the guy hung out with usually. Or rather, maybe Hawkins just didn't provide the right people for Billy. Maybe these were his people and the others were just ones Billy was stuck with.
It didn't matter though right now. Those people were far away and they were here. Scoffing away ice cream by the sea. "I can't believe you're able to just tuck that away," Steve jested, gesturing to Billy's toned physique. Billy looking down at himself and then pointing a spoon at Steve's meagre amount.
"Well you could have had a sundae of Kings but instead you went with whatever that is."
"The best god darn ice cream I've had."
This takes Billy aback, so much that for a moment he just stared. Sat back in some kind of awe or something; he wasn't even sure what it was later when he was pondering on the bus. Steve sleeping at his side. It just meant something more than Billy thought it would. Hearing such praise from Steve Harrington himself. Whose sat there tucking into his scoop of bannofee whilst scanning the place. He's intrigued, he's happy and Billy? He's happy too.
This place may have only been a sundae place to some, a place to get ice cream and chill. But for Billy it was a solid part of his history. A place where he felt safe from the drama at home. Where him and his friends regularly came and Maisie would let them try all the new flavours. He'd even got to name one, and that was one of the scoops he now had in his sundae. And he knew now, if he ever got another chance to name anything else here, he'd name it after the guy in front of him. Whose now making his heart melt with that soft smile, which then turned into a smirk,
"Get over yourself Harrington," Billy scoffed, flicking ice cream at him and then grinning. The King of Hawkins trying to dodge it and failing miserably.
Yeah….He'd totally misjudged Steve. He was an ass, but Billy would give anything to keep this feeling he had right now. For Steve one day to be with him.
And Steve? He can't stop smiling. This place, it was like a calm cave out at sea. It was simple, it was clean. It was the sort of place he could imagine writers and artists coming to . Gazing out to the nearby beach and taking their time. Man, Hawkins had not a patch on this place. No wonder Billy missed it so much.
No wonder it felt like he was finally seeing the whole guy here rather than the persona and mask. His friends had seemed like the kinda people who would do anything for Hargrove. Would stand by his side because of him, not his status, not his looks. They were true friends, amigos Billy had called him. And he'd not heard Billy use that term sincerely in Hawkins. It was more a insult, a threat and not an endearment.
Like something someone would say to demean or mock. But with those people, it wasn't like that. And he'd also never seen Hargrove so calm or vulnerable.
The funny thing was, despite having never been here, Steve felt it too. A freeness which made Hawkins feel choking. He didn't have to be the King of Hawkins here. He didn't have anything to prove out on the beach or here with a sundae. Even if Hargrove had teased him on his choice of ice cream. It didn't matter. It wasn't like he was trying to provoke him. More like they were both in on the joke.
So back went a little bit of ice cream, splat straight onto Hargrove's shirt and the other guy scoffed, rolling his eyes and dramatically putting his hand to his hand.
"My most precious polo! How will I ever recover?"
Steve snorted into his ice cream, tempted to flick more ice cream at him as Billy grinned and left the mark on him. Like a badge of pride. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Race ya."
The pair jumped in sync off the steps down to the beach. Billy shoving Steve playfully out of the way as he ventured to find the quickest path. Sand was tricky to run in but over the years Billy had grown a talent. He knew how to bounce, how to stride and which parts of the beach was his friend. Steve on the other hand, well he didn't have such advantages or luck apparently. Bumbling around and now going face first. Billy throwing back his head and laughing in triumph, spinning on his heels. Arms crossed and grin bare as he waited by the water line for the other to finally join him. Bent over, hair flopping down towards his feet. Still pretty. Still one of the most handsome guys Billy had laid his eyes on.
And still an ass. One quick shove and Billy was down, right on his ass into the water. The salt water quickly seeping through to his boxers. The little shit.
Another quick shove and Steve was over, now also in the water and laughing before they both jumped up, then they were off again. Tugging at each others' jeans and shirts. Smiling like this was the best thing in the world. Falling over one another and rolling around in the sand laughing. Brushing themselves off and then running again. The sun warm enough to dry them off and not leave them with wet asses for the journey back to the dorms.
"I swear, these better dry before we get back on that coach Harrington." And that's when it hit them. They were meant to be back at a certain time and it was time for the coach, shit! The pair looked in horror at each other. How could they have forgotten? The school they were staying at was on the outskirts of town, almost outside it and they'd all been dropped off by the team coach this morning. If they weren't picked up, it was a long long way back. They had to hurry.
They were late. They were so late that Billy feared that maybe the bus would have already left. The feelings of worry boil up onto the surface as they dashed, Steve's hand in his. He wasn't sure when they linked hands but he didn't care. He does know Steve can feel the tension in him, the way he ran his fingers over Billy's knuckles and then stopped him. Pulling him towards him at a rate which made Billy stumble. A soft embrace before Steve took the lead. The final dash before they got to their destination.
Their hands fell apart as they got in visual sight of their coach. She wasn't looking impressed at all. Hands on her hips and looking at her watch as they approached, nodding to the bus.
As Steve passed, she glanced at him a look of warning and as Billy did, she put her hand out. Stopping him in his tracks.
"I know it must be hard, being back here. I need your head in the game. But if that helps, then…" She gave a soft smile, a nod in Steve's direction that no one else sees but Billy. "I'll look the other way. For now."

Show Me Yours | Matty Healy [25]
chapter twenty-five, act three: so far (it's alright)
masterlist
Tumblr media
March 3rd 2015
“No, no, no, no. No.”
Tommie groans rolling her eyes a she yawns loudly, “Rod-”
“No, please don’t lecture me right now, just- just let me rant.”
She doesn’t argue, just falls back onto the cushions behind her as he turns to Adam, “I need more… more emotion.”
“More emotion?” Adam asks, rubbing his hand from how long he’s been holding his guitar. This is the eighth time in the last three hours (yes, he has been sitting in the booth for three hours with no break) that Matty has interrupted his guitar solo in their new song they’re recording.
Adam runs his tongue across his teeth, “I have some emotion for you, Matty-”
“If you say anger-”
“It’s anger, that’s the emotion I have right now.”
Matty sighs, hands clasped in front of him, lips pursed as they rest on top of his fingertips like some sort of painter studying their muse.
His hair is tied up and his glasses are on his face, “Okay, yes, channel the anger, it’s a song about the patriarchy-”
“Pretty sure it's a song about your narcissism.” Tommie pipes up from the floor and he kicks at her foot as he passes, slapping an asleep George on the shoulder causing him to jump awake.
Tommie rolls over, head propped up on her hand to look over at Ross who's lounging on the only settee in their little makeshift studio in London.
“You relaxed over there?”
He grins, “Very, might just have a nap.”
“Yeah, have one for me.” She groans getting up and grabbing the guitar from Adam to take his place, “What if I do the solo?”
Everyone looks at her slowly and she shrugs, “What?”
“You never want to do solos.”
“I believe you said, ‘why would I solo when I don’t feel yolo?’.”
“That’s such nonsense, why would I say that?”
She did say it. Yesterday. After Adam begged her to do it since Matty had already been on his arse about it.
Matty sighs, pushing his glasses up on his head and pinching the bridge of his nose, “Fine, whatever, I don't care, just someone do it.”
She shoos him out of the studio and puts the headphones on, they push her hair up awkwardly and when she catches sight of her reflection in the window she pats down the little Elvis styled quiff. She listens to the drum beat they’ve been working on the past week through the headphones, her head bobbing along to the beat.
Her fingers make quick work, instead of playing what Adam had been doing she lets her mind wander, moving with the beat of the drum line instead of the bass where she thinks is maybe what Adam was struggling with.
Matty swings open the door running over to her, she barely has time to put the guitar down before they’re on the floor and he's peppering kisses all over her cheeks and forehead, “You are my favourite person in the studio right now. That’s exactly what I imagined.”
She pushes him off of her and lifts herself up, smiling at Adam who mimes, ‘thank you’ through the glass.
She checks her phone for the time, 3:33 am, sighing as she stretches until her back pops, Ross distantly yelling his annoyance at her habit, “Call it a night?”
“No, wait, we have to finish-”
“Matty,” She says, turning to him and taking his hands in her own, “Everyones exhausted, it’s only been three days and we’ve almost finished the first song on the list, we’re on track, we’re not going to fall behind. And if we don’t all have a good night's sleep, in an actual bed, then we’re not gonna go much further than that.”
He sighs, head falling to rest on her shoulder as she moves her hands up and down his arms, tracing over his tattoos, “Yeah?”
His voice is muffled into her top as he repeats the word back to her.
“You tired?” She asks softly.
“No-” His word is broken off by a yawn and he brings a hand up to cover his mouth as he watches the rest of the guys start packing up.
“Come on, I’ll drive us back.”
“I’m okay.”
“If you fall asleep at the wheel and we die, I’ll kill you.”
She snatches the keys from his hand, collecting only her phone and jacket, leaving her bag here for tomorrow as she collects the boys one by one.
She drops Adam off at his place, promising to pick him up later than scheduled so he can have a nice lie in, then she drops Ross off at the end of their street before parking in the car park.
She’s staying with George and Matty for the next couple weeks as they record, it saves for the journey up and down, and she's hoping they’ll finish earlier than planned so she can go home to her own place.
When she gets in, George goes straight to his room, placing a kiss on her head and thanking her for driving before disappearing.
Matty comes up behind her as she's kicking her shoes off to wrap his arms around her and lazily lean himself on her. She pushes him off for long enough to line her shoes up with the skirting boards that are lining their flat walls. As soon as she’s standing upright again, socked feet on the cold floor, Matty’s arms are around her again.
“Go to bed.”
“Okay,” He whispers quietly, letting her go to walk to this room, “Do you-”
“Bed.”
He nods and closes his door making sure not to close it completely like George had as she lies out on their settee.
It probably takes her five minutes after her head hits the pillow to fall asleep, she’s not sure how long it is when her name is whispered and she’s shaken awake from her dreamless slumber.
It's still dark, and she feels groggy. That's how she knows she hasn’t been there long.
“Tom?”
“Hmm?”
“Watch a film with me?”
“It’s like four in the morning.”
He shrugs, “It’s four thirty.”
“Go back to bed.”
“I can’t sleep.” He whispers, then when she looks up to see him, where he’s sat on the coffee table watching her, she sees the desperation in his eyes, “Please?”
He picks at the skin on his hand and when her eyes drift down to it he notices, pulling the sleeves of his crew neck over his hands to stop himself.
She nods and goes to pull herself up but he shakes his head, “Don’t, don’t get up, it’s okay. I’m sorry, shouldn’t have woken you up-”
He stands and she reaches for his hand, turning onto her side she pats the cushion and he sits there beside her. Her stomach is pressed into his side and she lifts one leg to slide under him.
“It’s fine. What movie?”
He shrugs, “I don’t know.”
She’s still holding his hand, thumb rubbing back and forth over the back of it. She looks up at him, his long curly hair falling over and covering his eyes.
“Okay, you pick one and I’ll-”
“Stay right here, it’s okay, you don't have to move.”
He moves to get the remote, putting the volume right down as George is sometimes a light sleeper.
Then he slides down to sit on the floor but she tugs at his collar, “Come up here.”
“I won’t fit.”
“You will, come on.” She pushes herself back into the cushions and he awkwardly lies in front of her. She wraps her arms around him pulling him back into her chest, her legs fitting in between his.
Button perks up from the armchair she’s been sleeping on and jumps up with them, curling herself up behind their slightly bent knees.
Matty lifts the remote, looking through the channels until he settles on some old American war movie on the history channel.
Tommie yawns, forehead resting against his neck as she plays with his long hair.
“Any reason you can’t-” She breaks herself off with another yawn, “Can’t sleep?”
He shrugs a little, his hands falling to where hers are on his stomach, “I don’t know. My head is going too fast.”
She unlaces one hand from his to lift it up to his forehead, rubbing slow circles into his skin until his eyes are fluttering shut.
“I feel like,” He shrugs a little, trying to find the right words, “Like we’re running out of time. Metaphorically, I mean we’ve completed three songs already last year, this new ones almost done, we have plenty of time. But I’m scared.”
“Of what?”
“People. What they’ll think when this new one comes out, I mean they reacted-mostly- good to the first one. What if they’re disappointed. You know, what if their expectations are so high-”
“Are you happy with what we’ve done so far?”
So far they've completed UGH!, Paris, The Sound and are half way through Love Me. A few others songs are written, he also has some he won’t let any of them see yet.
“Very, it’s all gre-”
“So am I. And Ross, George, Adam, we all are. That's all that matters.”
He sighs before awkwardly twirling so they’re face to face, his nose brushes her, and when she yawns, bowing her head a little, his lips brush against her forehead, “Do you have any fears?” He asks, “About the album?”
She gives a playful scoff and nods, “Of course I do. I’m a right Anxious Annie, you know that.”
He lifts his hand, slowly tracing his fingers up her arm until they reach her face leaving goosebumps and a warm trail behind. Then he moves just his pinky finger across her cheek bone, dragging along until he pulls the stray strands of hair behind her ear.
She’s silent, holding her breath as her eyes stay on him, only him, and he whispers, “Show me yours, I'll show you mine.”

March 29th 2015
“Thanks for doing this.” Tommie says as they collect their luggage from the carousel.
Matty lifts his head in acknowledgement, “Yeah, I wanted to record out here anyway.”
She nods, “Still, thank you. It means a lot.”
“Tommie!”
She turns, smiling as they see Caleb through the crowd waiting for her. Matty watches the smile brighten just a little and he takes her suitcase nodding for her to go ahead.
She walks over to Caleb, letting his arms swallowing her into a hug as he sways them back and forth, “We finished it,” He tells her, “The EP, which means that for the next, however long , that you’re here, you and I-”
“Caleb, I’m here for work too, not just pleasure.”
“But, I’m done now, we can spend a little more time together.” He sighs taking her hands, “I know things between us have been… rough lately, but-”
“I know, and I’m happy for you guys, can’t wait to hear it, but I have recording to do too. We have to go straight there right now, you can come if you want.”
He steps back, “Uh,” He glances up at the rest of the band as they approach, eyes meeting Matty’s who's staring right at him, “I’m good, got plans with the guys, see you for dinner tonight?”
She nods, leaning up on her tiptoes, instead of letting her meet his lips he turns his head so she kisses his cheek.
She purses her lips, trying not to allow her annoyance to show and clears her throat. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay, I get it, we’re in the same industry, remember. I understand.”
“Same industry, different levels.” Matty says as he walks on ahead, sunglasses on ready when he sees the distant flashes outside of the airport.
Tommie pauses for a few seconds as Adam comes up beside her, “Let him go out and distract them, we’ll sneak on past quickly then.”
She nods watching Matty lift his hand to wave at the fans and paparazzi waiting, she goes to turn and grip Caleb’s hand but sees he's walked ahead already, slipping out unnoticed with no attention on him.
She groans and turns to Adam who holds his hand out for her to take, Ross pulls her hood up and covers her face making her giggle as he tightens the strings. “See?”
“No.”
“Exactly,” He grins, “You can’t see them, they can’t see you. Logic.”
George shakes his head, sliding his glasses on, “That is awful logic.”
⋆。 ゚☁︎。 ⋆。 ゚☾ ゚
Tommie winces as the door is a little too loud as she closes it, she glances around the dark apartment, her backpack still on her shoulders and aeroplane clothes still being worn.
She yawns, checking the time on her phone, 5:32.
She drops her bag by the table and creeps towards Caleb’s bedroom, only he’s not there, the bed is empty, it’s been made and his bag and phone aren’t in their usual spots.
She blinks, trying to get rid of the jet lag she still feels from their long flight, never mind the added fourteen hours in the studio.
Taking her phone out she sends him a text.
To: Caleb
Where are you? X
Delivered 5:36
She sighs and looks around his room, it’s plain. White walls, three photo frames, one for each of his family members on the wall, a little wardrobe and a bed with a total of two pillows.
A noise in the kitchen startles her and she gets up quickly to go out into the kitchen.
She creeps out quietly, peeking through the little window, suddenly a head pops up and she jumps with a frightened gasp.
“Jesus!”
“Nope, just me.” James grins.
She holds a hand over her heart and shakes her head, “Scared the shit out of me.”
“Sorry, OJ?”
“No thanks.”
She leans through the opening to look at him, “Uh, where’s Caleb?”
“Oh, he tried calling you, did you get his message?”
She shakes her head slowly, “Friend of ours from back home, well, his childhood best friend is out here visiting, so he’s gone to see them, said something about staying at their hotel with them.”
She nods with a sigh and purses her lips heading for her bag, “You can just stay here, sleep in his room.”
“Gonna go back to the studio, left early anyway.”
James nods, “See you later then.”
“Ta-ra.”
“Who’s Tara?”
She sighs, closing the door behind her and getting her phone out. The line rings three times before he picks up.
“Can you come pick me up? Please.”
“Yeah, of course. Where are you?”
“Caleb’s place, he’s not here.”
“On my way.”
She smiles to herself as she heads downstairs, “Thanks, Matt.”

She got the title of the 'Ghostface Princess' when she started to do content of Scream on social media
The title of 'Serpent Princess' was because the cast f Riverdale started to call her that during filming and interviews
While rehearsing for Carrie: The Musical, she was Chris Hargenssen while Spencer, her boyfriend at the time, was playing Tommy Ross, and during one rehearsal, she pulled the rope with the bucket (empty) and accidentally hit him in the back, he was okay, only a bruise for a few days (they broke up in january because he moved to Iowa)
The one sided feud with Kira started because she thought Y/N last name was weird and funny, until she found out who was her father

What if...
1. Joel cheated on Rosebud (could be of any reasons, like they had a fight or like the ROSS reason "we were on a break".) I feel like since they are meant to be they would find there way back but I just wanted to see your outake on this
2. If Rose cheated on Joel, how would it all play out?
Extra question cause I'm extra
3. Tommy found out that either Rosebud or Joel cheated.
Tumblr media
Okay, so first off, NEITHER OF THEM WOULD EVER CHEAT. They really are that couple that’s 1000% devoted and don’t so much as glance in someone else’s direction.
However, if we’re playing the alternate universe game…
1: Joel cheating on Rosebud
The only way that Joel would ever cheat is if he’s drunk out of his mind. I can see there being some fight over something small that blows up out of proportion, Rose would probably tell him to leave her apartment and Joel would storm off into the night to a bar. He’d get completely shit faced and some girl would start talking him up, to which he’d be fairly stone faced until she asks about a girlfriend. Joel says he’s got one and that they got into a fight and she threw him out. The girl would immediately start flirting and talking about how no sane woman would throw someone like him out. The cheating, however, would be a grey area. The girl would probably catch Joel off guard and kiss him, he’d pull away at first but he’d be so out of his mind drunk, he’d think for half a second he’s kissing Rose and let it happen. The realization of what he’s done hits about .000001 seconds after it happens and he runs out.
The next morning, he’d go to Rosebud’s place and confess because he can’t live with the guilt. He’d say how drunk he was and out of character it is for him to have more than two beers and that he didn’t initiate anything and was way too wasted that he thought it was her and he loves her and he’s so so so so so sorry.
At first, Rose’d be livid and hurt and throw him out again. After a good cry, she’d consider all that he said and find the logic in it. He didn’t initiate anything, he was completely inebriated, and that he thought it was her. She’d drive over to the Millers pretty soon after, where Joel’s facedown in his bed with tears in his eyes. Rose would come and sit with him, tell him she forgives him and they agree that the whole fight just snowballed. They make up, but Rose definitely tells him to go brush his teeth and use extra mouthwash before she even considers kissing him.
2: Rose cheating on Joel
Again, the word cheating with these two is being used very loosely because it just wouldn’t happen.
Rose’s misstep would come when an ex-boyfriend calls and says he’s in town and wants to go to dinner. Since they’re on good terms, Rose would agree and tell Joel, who immediately locks up. He says he wants to come because he doesn’t trust some out of the blue ex calling his girlfriend up and trying to take her out. Rose would tell Joel he’s overreacting and that there’s no feelings on either side. They’d get into a small argument, with Rose eventually telling Joel that as much she loves how protective he is, he doesn’t own her or make her decisions for her and she’s going. Joel lets her walk out, silently seething with jealousy.
Rose would go to dinner and enjoy herself, until she takes a good look around her. The restaurant’s romantic, there’s a rose on the table that isn’t on anyone else’s, her ex keeps finding any reason to touch her hand…but she doesn’t want to make a scene, so she tells herself she’s imagining it.
At the end of the night, when they’re both heading to their cars, her ex would move in for a kiss. It’s established that Rosebud has a hard time putting up a fight or defending herself, and she’s so caught off guard that, completely paralyzed by anxiety, she lets it happen. As soon as her ex’s lips hit hers, she finds the courage to push him off and says that she has a boyfriend. The ex would probably get snippy and a little passive aggressive with her, causing Rose to hurry away to her car. She cries all the way back to Joel’s house, trying to compose herself on the porch before knocking on the door because she doesn’t actually know if she’s welcome or not after their argument.
Joel answers the door and as soon as he sees the tears, he’s bringing her in with an arm around her shoulders. Y/n separates from him and confesses that he was right and that her ex kissed her. She says how she was so fucking terrified in that moment that she couldn’t move and…it happened. Her apologizes are one after the other and she’s crying softly, waiting for Joel’s reaction.
At first, yeah, Joel’s pissed. He’s more angry at the ex, but he’s also frustrated with Y/n’s lack of ability to fight for herself. He probably excuses himself to the backyard, needing to take a few deep breaths of fresh air before continuing the conversation. He’d compose himself, telling himself that it wasn’t her fault and she was caught off guard. He reminds himself that her delicateness is one of the things he loves about her, how she’s soft to the world and its intentions, even if it’s sometimes her undoing.
Joel comes back into the house where Y/n is sitting in tears at the kitchen table, basically waiting for him to kick her out. Joel comes and sits next to her, taking her hand and sighing. They don’t really address it, Joel just asks that she not go out with any more of her exes, which is an easy promise for Y/n. Joel would probably place a kiss to her forehead before kissing her lips so deeply that, even though she’s sitting, Rosebud’s knees go weak. He’d make some smug comment about her ex not being man enough to kiss a woman properly, and Rose just pulls him back down to her…
BONUS: Tommy finding out about Rosebud and/or Joel cheating
It probably wouldn’t come up in any conversations for a while, so when Tommy finds out about either of Joel and Rose’s “infidelities” he’s blown away. If he’s driving when Joel mentions it in passing, he’s going to nearly swerve off the road. He’d ask for details and after it’s explained to him, he’d just laugh and say “only you two would consider that cheatin’.”
These two would just be too in love to see anyone other than each other💞

Stranger Things Headcanons: Being Dustin’s older sister, a nerdy metalhead, and becoming closer with Eddie and Steve - Part 3
Tumblr media
Masterlist
Word Count 14 K (This is almost like an oneshot written on items)
Warnings: Eddie and Steve simp for the reader in their different ways. There is one smut headcanon, but the description of it is more of an implication. Some more of my usual cultural references.
Pairings: Eddie Munson x (Fem) Henderson!Reader, Steve Harrington x (Fem) Henderson!Reader.
Notes: Im once again reminding you that my memory of the timelines suck, sorry for that. Like i mentioned in a recent post, this goes deep into the prom headcanons because i got very into imagining that concept. That means that this series is going to be at least one part longer than what I expected. In between this and part 4 I will be as well posting an oneshot that will follow the inmediate moment after this one’s ending.
Also, I was halfway into writing this when I stumbled across this smut headcanon post for Eddie that blessed my dash and gave me some unusual inspiration. If you want to get more context for why I included that casual little hint of smut, reading that and being unable to stop the thoughts in my head afterwards made me do it.

- News would travel fast but you decided to act faster by telling all your friends about your date. After all, you had nothing to hide because you were doing nothing wrong.
- Well, almost nothing. Steve’s invitation was a huge surprise. Despite it having perfectly logical motives, you couldn't help feeling... Flattered? Amazed? He seemed so worried about your answer, it wasn't what you would expect from a friend that was simply asking you a favor... Why did he have to make you feel like a pretty girl for it?
- That was exactly how you felt, for as ridiculous as it sounded to you... and he was causing it. His adorable nerves were something new, never before you saw a guy reacting like that in front of you. Even when you knew you weren't the case, you felt like one of those truly gorgeous girls that make boys stutter when they approach them.
- In reality, the closest and most believable explanation you found was that your new threatening look was what made him nervous. If you intimidated Steve, it must have happened in the spirit that would make someone fear a dragon, not the kind of fear making a boy nervous of approaching a cute girl.
- Your thoughts were going against the evidence of your everyday experience and realistic self deprecation. It was the proof that Dustin's wishfulness over you two was finally poisoning your mind. You were smiling to the idea of going on a fake date with your friend, wondering if that was how Carrie felt when Tommy Ross asked her out for prom, and feeling very stupid about it.
- He treated you sweetly and he sold the concept to you so easily. It almost felt like if he truly wanted to take you on that date and you wouldn't be just the replacement for Nancy.
- A fact that you didn’t mention in your talk with Johnnatan. His reaction was of a similar surprise regarding Steve’s attitude, but your acceptance of the ask wasn’t that much of a weird turn for him. He guessed that you were invoking an old pact you two had for that sort of thing, making Steve benefit from the contract breaking because then he was the one without a girlfriend. Congratulating your friend for his romantic achievement, you were picking up the pieces of the mess left behind of it.
- Or that was what he thought. Even if you wished that date was real, nobody would care. Populars would surely be making you two the token of all the jokes anyway, but no one whose opinion you actually cared to hear would see it as an issue. Despite his previously expressed arguments against Steve, you thought Eddie wouldn't care because he would never look at you like that.
- The truth that you wouldn't get to see by yourself was that he felt very conflicted and hopeless with the news. He cared, jealousy was killing him from the inside and he was even more surprised than you.
- So far, his theorized fear was about you getting some hopeless crush on Harrington after he played hero in that fight with Hargrove. The new evidence turned everything upside down and he began to wonder what the basketball player wanted with you.
- " I am merely applying a standard protocol I have designed with Johnnatan under the assumption we both were going to remain as dateless losers till graduation." You tried to bring sense into the facts appealing to a very real thing of your highschool loser lifestyle. " My friend got a girlfriend far before that could happen, that girl dumped another guy for him and now that guy is graduating."
" Bullshit, it is a thankful gesture for your brave knight. " Eddie replicated. He didn't seem pissed off, but he was clearly not happy with your explanation. " You just want to wear a cute dress for him and get to play Cinderella. "
" I am a replacement, Eddie. Second choice, late hour call. He wanted to go with his girlfriend but now he doesn't have one anymore... How romantic do you think that can be?" You insisted, showing annoyance. " The protocol stands to protect any helpless loser friend of mine from being shamed over not having a date. Guess what? I am a helpless loser and I know how it feels to be rejected. "
It wasn't completely obvious, but you were thinking on your assumed as unrequired feelings for him in that last phrase.
" Prove it. "
Since he would insist, you just had to make the simple one on one pact into an official rule valid to be applied for all your friends. In short terms, involving Hellfire into the agreement.
" Anyone here needing the same sort of help I'm giving to Steve is welcomed to actívate the emergency protocol. "
The silence indicated that it was most likely they were actually considering it.
" What if a few of us would graduate at the same time? " Gareth finally spoke, with well intentioned curiosity. " You can't be everyone's date at once. "
" In that case we may need to solve it the old way." You kindly answered, making up a new rule for a code that was imagined with only one guy in mind. " A tournament. Eddie picks the tests and we let fate decide. "
- Eddie knew that he would have to invent some terrible excuse to keep his jealousy hidden. Everyone else seemed satisfied with your answer but he wouldn't get convinced.
" The code stays. It is a brilliant idea and not the actual center of my questioning." He replicated, faking a solemn neutrality. " I disagree with its applicability for the case of Harrington because he is not one of us. Before accepting his request for appealing to it you should have convocated us to council in order to deliberate if It was worthy of consideration."
" IT IS MY CODE!!" You complained. " I created it with my loser best friend and I get to decide how to use it now that it doesn't hold any utility for him. "
" If you want to be one of us you will have to accept that certain choices must be made in the community. Like, for instance, your involvement in that popularity shitfest holding hands with that disowned jock. "
- Despite the concept being a nightmare to him, he didn't make a single Carrie joke. In his mocks, he only compared you to Cinderella and that alone should have sended you a message. He was thinking on you looking all dolled up in some beautifull dress and it felt dreamy as fuck, what he hated given that he wouldn't be the guy taking you to the ball.
- The most curious thing to you was that, for someone who hated the idea, he seemed way too interested in it. He would even make occasional asks about the state of your plans, encouraging you to ramble about the outfit ideas you were thinking.
- The style was your main struggle. If there was one thing you had in clear, that was how you didn't want the princess-like look of Carrie. In that snake pit full of popular people you would be at high risk of being mocked and you needed something that could give you confidence. The problem was that you had no idea of where to start digging for it.
- The first clue on the direction you wanted to take came directly from Steve at one night he was at your house joining you, Dustin and Mike in watching one of your favorite tv shows.
- It was a horror show dedicated to class B movies that were either too niche or too awful to be transmitted anywhere else. Your mother had some discrepancies about the revealing dressing code of the show's hostess, but she would allow Dustin to watch it with you anyways. In the opposite case, Karen forbade Mike from watching it because, of all the stuff the show displayed, she chose to get scandalized about the sexy gothic lady introducing the movies and laughing with the audience in self aware jokes.
- Steve only knew of Elvira as a merchandising pin up girl, learning with you that the character had a cult show that was the delight of freaks. Like in any other case, you were ready to begin an exploratory ramble for him.
- " She is more than a poster girl for horror fans, Cassandra Peterson is awesome. I read an article about her once in a horror fanzine and it was super inspiring. She is not there just to look sexy in a way that attracts freaks... She is one of us herself! "
Your excitement was a bit adorable to him.
" ... She came from a small town just like this one and she suffered a lot of bullying. She was an outcast girl, mocked for her looks because of some burning scars she got in an accident. She grew up being told that she was ugly and now look at her! She puts into her character and she shows such incredible charisma. I love that woman, I aspire to have that confidence."
- Steve wasn't clearly thinking about what he said to you afterwards. Otherwise, he wouldn't have spit it like he did.
" Well, you can work on the confidence part because you already have the nice boobs. "
- He regretted it immediately but it was too late. Mike, the rebellious guest seeking to watch the forbidden program, was then visibly disgusted and your brother made the callout for you.
- " SHE IS MY SISTER! Man, you can't be talking of her like that."
" It's not like we forgot that you also used to date my sister. " Mike followed. " It's not cool, don't make it awkward. "
You fixated on the TV screen pretending that you didn't hear anything of what was being said, but Steve made things worse with a dorkish sounding clarification of his misfortuned phrase.
" Boobies are a totally normal thing that we shouldn't be ashamed of. I mean, she wears oversized rock band t-shirts for a reason. Looking like her I wouldn’t want to be the only girl in the nerds table at school, better if they don’t get to notice. "
“ Says the perv who is talking about her boobs” Mike rushed a comeback. “ Don’t stereotype us, we aren’t all creeps.“
“ I’m just saying that she is very pretty overall, but that is the sort of thing that gives those dudes clues about it.”
- Awkwardness aside, that conversation led you into a positive discovery. To let your fears of being mocked behind, you could develop through fashion choices an entire concept for a character you could play as a self aware joke of your weirdness. Make fun of yourself before others could do it, take control of the jokes and, maybe, abuse the court jester privilege if the context invited you to do it. As you said to Steve in the middle of your ramble, you wished you could be as much of a confident freak as Cassandra showed to be through the character of Elvira.
- Your character had to be a witch. A dark goth vampiric looking approach wouldn’t work the same way symbolically and fashion wise. Censored Elvira, cleaned up from the sexy aspects of her look, was just Morticia Addams and you weren’t going to straighten your hair anyways. Curly hair was a pop culture trait of witches, an image so instaurated in common sense that the phrase “ witch’s hair” was used before by some well intentioned adults to describe yours in a bad hair day.
- Besides, the popular iconography of the witch as a suspicious woman fitted better with the mysticism implied in the comments of Steve about you being the only girl in a numerous group of weird dudes. It was also an excellent way to satirize the entire concept of the club’s stigma.
- Among all those very cool sounding reasons, you also picked it because Eddie had lovefully compared you to a witch before and his sweet words made you melt each and every time he did it. If confidence was what you needed, evoking those memories was going to be a good point.
- The dress had to be red in honor of Hellfire. Elegant, but with some subtle accentuation of the cleavage. Enough to be a change in comparison to the oversized shirts, but nothing scandalizing. The witch thing was a thematic concept for a formal dress, not a Halloween costume.
- As your preparations advanced, you made sure to consult Steve before adventuring into dress shopping. It was not your intention to spoil the surprise, but you needed to be sure if he was going to feel comfortable with what you were planning to do.
- He was amazed to hear how much effort you were putting into something that was about him. You knew that you both would be surrounded by quite a few bullies so you were planning your way to stay strong for him. You were taking all that bother and you weren't even trying to make him like you through it. He adored you for it..
- " Facing normals as your date is not going to be easy, so I am going to create a confident character for it. A sort of thematic inspiration for my look and it is going to be about witchcraft." You were explaining to him" By now you must know that we are going to be mocked, that's why I'm going one step ahead of them. I'm not gonna be waiting for the bucket of pig's blood to fall over my head. "
" That is great, I love to see you have fun with this. " Steve sweetly encouraged you. " I want you to be comfortable, whatever it takes to make you smile is good for me."
That time you were the one blushing.
- Joyce offered herself to take you dress shopping. It was normal between her and your mom to make arrangements on who relevates who over certain activities involving their kids.Yours and the Byers were the only fatherless homes in Dustin’s friend group and the only case in which all the existent siblings were very close friends with each other as well. Your mothers got used to helping each other in the work-life balance combining their schedules when necessary.
 - She was like a second mother to you, her house was your second home. The bonding over the years of friendship you and your brother had with her kids made it particularly special.
- Inviting Nancy wasn't an option, you simply couldn't submit her to that awkward moment. It was a bit of a letdown of the situation, because you two were getting progressively closer through discovering certain points of contact within your passions. The incredible amazement you felt at the realization that you were, in fact, like the intrepid reporter contextually forced to join forces with the (lowkey self insert) horror writer in a standard cliche horror-mystery novel shocked you in a positive way.
- You could have got very sad about your lack of female friends to share that sort of thing with, but El's infinite sweetness took you by surprise as she asked you by herself to let her accompany you.
- Max joined you as well, approaching your issue with sarcasm to make you feel less alone. " Does it look like I have many friendships with girls?" she told you at the time you were excusing yourself for bothering all of them due to your lack of girls among your same age friendships. The phrasing implied a certain ' It's just us' feeling and she closed the topic making a random joke about how you couldn't let a bunch of guys be your second opinion for a prom dress.
-  Since you knew that no store would offer the exact same thing you wanted, you worried more about fitting. You tried on lots of red dresses strategically picking the ones you saw as more apted to be transformed.
- Style changes could be made later, working with your mom and the sewing machine. Like in any October when Dustin would get an idea for a Halloween costume impossible to find at stores, you could be changing the details yourself while asking your awesomely supportive mom for guidance.
- You all had so much fun, the company felt amazing and you didn't feel any sadness over not being able to bring a friend of your age. El and Max were the young witches of your small coven and that was nice anyways. In fact, one of them was actually like a real life witch.
- You began to wonder if you were perhaps on a viable road to build with any of the girls something similar to what Steve got with Dustin. Be that cool older friend they could see as a support in the girl issues they wouldn’t talk with their male friends. Hero worship aside, of course, you didn’t need any of that.
- Once you had what you wanted and began to work on the concept you noticed that there was a barely imperceptible missing piece that you didn't consider in that shopping getaway: you needed a new bra. It wouldn't make a difference for the outside, but it would for you. A red bra of perfect fitting, something that could make you feel perhaps a bit sexy and help with the confidence boosting. To the realization, you made your plans of going for it alone at some quick escapade after school.
- Plans that Eddie almost ruined completely because, in his unawareness of it, he wouldn't stop insisting on wanting to hang out with you.
- " You know how much I love to spend time with you, but I can't this time." You were trying to explain him without being direct, the light disappointment in his beautiful brown eyes was killing you. " I have some things to do, it's about my outfit for the party and I don't want you to get bored with that sort of shit."
" I'm never bored when I am with you." He sounded so adorable and he was about to get even sweeter. " What's about? Do you need to try on new shoes? I volunteer to play Prince Charming for your Cinderella."
“ Sorry to disappoint you, but I am not a princess.”
- You had to tell him, there was no other way he would get why you really needed to be alone for that.
- " Do you remember that I told you I am going to wear a red dress in a witchy style because I'm taking seriously that deal about representing Hellfire? "
Of course he did and he loved you for it.
"... Well, I need to buy a new bra. It seems like a minor detail but it can make the difference." You began to explain, trying to make the fashion talk equivalent of the old ' talking of menstruation to make men uncomfortable into stop asking questions' " I need one of the same color with nice fitting so I can actually create the cleavage effect in a way that wouldn't look cheap or overexposing."
- His mind went blank after listening to your description.
- " Sounds fun, sign me up." Was his unfortunate reply, that you interpreted as a joke.
" I don't need any second opinions for that, thanks. " You answered after some brief chuckling. " Is a detail I want to add to the look for a plus of confidence. I haven't told the guys because I don't want to hear any bad taste jokes, but I got the idea from watching Movie Macabre. The comedy style of Elvira is an inspiration for girls with low self esteem and weird interests. "
He was listening in silence and you felt sure that the girl stuff talking must have accomplished its purpose. By the way he was looking at you, you guessed he had to be feeling uncomfortable, so you closed the topic.
" They can't burn me at the stake if I am already on fire. I learned that from you and I want to make you proud."
- Eddie was a mess of mixed emotions, all feelings that were one way or another linked to romance, and he didn’t know what to do with them. You were his friend, the only girl around who showed herself willing to join the club and you were so excited about it that you were even trying to prove yourself a fitting member before asking to make it official. To you, simply being included in his group of weirdos was some sort of honor.
- You were also one of the few confirmed existent Corroded Coffin fans. He felt his heart about to explode when you secretly confessed to him, after a couple of times seeing their shows, that he was your favorite band member. He was so happy after getting to know that he managed to impress you like he actively seeked to.
- He was crushing on you so strongly and he admired you in every sense of the term. He loved your sweetness, your sense of humor, your awesome talent, your great imagination, your cool music taste and that wonderful way of understanding each other you two had… But he also loved your soft skin, your perfume, the taste of your lips, that he only tried once to end up dreaming awake with another casual chance to kiss you.
- The thought of you wearing a sexy red bra was too much to take. Then you choose to share with him, only him of all the dudes in the group, that you were adding that invisible touch because your inspiration for the witch prom dress concept was the Mistress of the Dark herself. You were talking of the comedy aspects in the character's hostess routine, the part about making fun of the movies and of herself with the audience, but he wasn't nor couldn't think of that.
- It wouldn’t be your intention, for sure, but the mental association of concepts brought to him some interesting ideas that did not match the complete reality of what you were planning. Wildly loose hair, red lipstick … a sexy red dress making you look like the style of witch that could be cover art of a metal album.
- There was no way you could have realized that your talk meant to make him feel uncomfortable in a ' I don't need to know more, just go' form caused a particularly contrary effect. What you were seeing wasn’t the awkwardness induced by something gross: Eddie was turned on. .
- He knew that, despite how much he sucked at hidding it, you had no idea because you were so innocent. Not in the sense of pureness or prudeness, more of absolute unawareness. It was as if the possibility of causing that on anyone would never cross your mind. An understandable attitude for a shy loser girl used to being ignored, he still couldn't believe that his were your first kisses.
- Knowing who you were made him feel awful about the things you made him think. Eddie was protective of you, his most adorable friend, yet he couldn't protect you from his thoughts. The romantical ones were nice crush induced stuff that he didn't mind indulging in because those were often inspired by your sweetness, but the sexual ones were torture for him.
- It would have been better for his sanity in all the aspects if you could have gone for the princess concept in his jokes, risking to feel like Carrie. It was obvious that you weren't going to dress like in his dirty fantasies, but you were going to look so beautiful in a style that he would love and it was all going to be for the eyes of Harrington. A guy that wouldn't even catch the symbology behind the idea and wouldn't appreciate it in the same way. That asshole didn’t deserve what you were doing for him, he didn’t deserve to be your first date.
- Like in your case, Eddie hasn’t dated much before. He may pretend in front of you to be this more experienced friend, but the real actual gap on that matter between you was not as huge as you thought. After all, you both were outcasts and even if you considered him way cooler than you, that was mostly in your perception but not a popular opinion.
- There was some excitement in the rest of Hellfire after you shared with them a very vague idea of what you wanted to do for your date. It certainly dissipated any initial doubts about your involvement in Steve's prom. Some of the boys even offered collaboration with ideas for subtle characterization details.
- Gareth was a total sweetheart, he wanted to do your makeup, but Eddie wouldn't miss the opportunity to make him his spy. After you accepted the offer, he gave him specific secret instructions of what he wanted to obtain. He could just show up at your house without warnings and find out by himself, but he wanted to avoid making a scene in case his jealousy could get out of control. After all you told him about your little brother, he couldn't afford causing a terrible first impression.
- Fortunately for you, things weren’t stressing because Steve made the ask with enough time ahead. Dealing with Dustin’s excitement was actually harder than the whole thing. It’s not like you didn’t appreciate his good intentions, but he was too young to understand certain things. Yes, you were going on a date with a sweet, handsome boy that cared to invite you, but that wasn’t an automatically erasing factor of your feelings for Eddie. Even if you could be catching feelings for Steve, that wasn’t going to make you forget him anytime soon.
- Your brother’s well intentioned intromissions were what was driving you crazy, so you begged him to stop. That only made him limitate himself to keep invading just Steve’s planning, pretending that he wasn’t at all tracking yours.  In the spirit of his interventions, he even made him watch the film adaptation of Carrie.
- “ When were you going to tell me that my character dies like an idiot?” Steve complained to him about the ending. “ If I would have known that, I wouldn’t have followed your idea.”
“ First, it is a merciful death compared with the rest of the Bloody Prom. Second, it is symbolic.” Dustin defended his point by bringing out his inner horror nerd in a way that would have made you proud to see. “ Tommy is Carrie’s hope for happiness, social acceptance and love. He dies and that leaves her empty: now she has nothing to lose and is free to take revenge on everyone who ever hurted her. “
“ At least I can see now why my date has refused to take the spot of Carrie.”
“ She switched the plan because she is trying to protect herself from the disappointment. Carrie chose to fall for the princess fantasy, she is running in the opposite direction.”
“ I’m not like Tommy, I do want to date her.”
“ I shouldn’t say this because it is technically violating some form of sibling confidentiality, but I’m going to do it because I love her and if this helps, she will eventually forgive me. ”
Dustin made a pause, his silence was a strong indicator for Steve to understand that what he was going to say shouldn’t leave that room.
“ My sister got used to facing disappointment with crushes, it runs in the nerd blood of the family. She is the sort of girl with spin the bottle traumas because no boy wanted to kiss her. You know when some dickheads do this thing of bothering the boy they know the weird girl crushes on, just for him to deny it acting repulsed by her so the rest can see her getting humiliated? Or the ‘ Hey, my friend likes you’ pranks? That was middle school for her. She has been crushless all High until she got to like some dude who didn't feel the same and that broke her heart. She is awesome, but she has lost all hope of crushing on someone who could want to be with her. Be her hope, Steve, that’s what I mean with this.”
- The revelation filled him with angry sadness because it just wasn’t fair that you had to feel that way. Steve was then able to understand why you were so worried about the mockery. It wasn’t about you not wanting to face the jokes, you were trying to protect him because you feared that having to stand that situation could repulse him. You deserved so much better than the bullshit lessons in your bad experiences, it was unbelievable for him to hear that you have lost any awareness of your attractiveness to isolation, bad romantical luck and bullying.
- For how long have you been ignored or mistreated to convince yourself of that? Did he ever indirectly participate in it? He did remember that Carol used to pick on you, doing the femenine counterpart of his bullying to Johnnatan. That seemed to stop precisely as you got close to Munson and his group, the fear he inspired surely made her think twice before daring to keep bothering you. Steve couldn’t remember any particular episode, but the mere idea of you suffering because of something that Carol said and he stupidly supported was killing him. If it happened, it was surely just to see Johnnatan’s helpless anger about your pain, but he wasn’t able to forgive himself thinking that he could be part of your problem.
- Those were all lies of people that didn’t know you for real, fools that wouldn’t look at you twice like he once was. You deserved to know how beautiful you were, to stop separating yourself from the concept of a pretty girl. It was so normalized in your trivial speech to do that, not even in debate at any point of your normal conversation, and that was frustrating to hear for someone who fancied you. He was able to understand where it came from, but you didn’t have to feel that way if he still had any power left to do something about it.
- Every single praise commentary he said to you, he meant it. Even the terrible ones like that one escaping out of him accidentally in front of Dustin and Mike. It somehow ended up expressing a true inner worry he had about your bonding with other guys. You were the only girl, a hot nerdy girl, hanging out with a bunch of lonely nerd dudes. As a friend, that triggered on him some protectiveness. Because of his crush on you, he was perhaps a bit jealous.
- He had no clues of what your dynamic with the group was like, but he was able to imagine you as their freaky queen. All the nerds at your feet, subtly fighting each other over who is going to clean up some space for you to sit at their table because all of them want to be close to you. As their leader, Munson decides that you should sit next to him and you smile in agreement, unaware of what was going on between them because of your presence.
- In that imagined escenario, Steve thought that it must have become an implicit rule among them that the leader was the only one habilited to make subtle moves on you. It was his way of explaining why he was the only one of them who was so damn close to you all the time. Everytime he got to see Munson at school, it always happened around you and he was always touching you.
- Hugs from behind that he used to casually give you in the middle of a conversation that he wasn’t initially taking part in, but seemed to enjoy interrupting. Forehead kisses, playing with your hair tracing the patterns of your curls with his fingertips. Once he even got to see him sneaking his hands underneath the back of your shirt to make you squeak from the metalic coldness of his rings. It was a joke, but it showed a high level of physical intimacy between you two
- That used to awaken some secret jealousy on Steve. If he could just touch you as easily, if you could only show to be so physically comfortable with him as you were with your so-called friend Eddie. You two have hugged many times, but it wasn’t the same. He craved for chances to try different levels of physical intimacy and his prom would be the perfect space for that because it was, after all, a date. He wanted to test waters in all kinds of romantic approaches: hand holding, slow dancing, sweet whispering of cute nonsense.
- Perhaps, if there would be a proper opportunity for it, he may even try to kiss you. A bit of a rushed thought, especially remembering the advice he gave to Dustin on the matter some time before, but he couldn’t contain the excitement. It was strong enough to force him into a self reminder of not staring at your lips for too long while paying attention to your talk a couple of times. He was counting the left days until having you really close and all for himself.
- Then, the day finally presented itself and, along with your own excitement, you got to discover that your mom was one within your brother’s. They were both practically on the same page, but for different reasons. She was more about showing pride over your social accomplishments. Over that school year you made incredible progress and there were some noticeable changes, besides from the more obvious one in your self embraced appearance. You had a circle of friends that were around your age, you were going out and having fun like parents expected from their teen kids. Although she appreciated Jonathan, she was glad that he wasn’t your only friend anymore and you were keeping that very important friendship while cultivating new ones. Your social life was expanding and that was a great thing.
- What you told her of Eddie and Hellfire was very vague for some obvious reasons, including your secret getaways to see the shows of their band that she wasn’t supposed to find out. However, she wasn’t the kind of paranoid mother worrying over ‘ bad companies´. It was pretty pointless with you, since you never ever gave her troubles and your loneliness worried her more than that. For so, she was very supportive of what she got to hear regarding your involvement with them. Hearing that Gareth was going to come over to help you out with your make up got an optimistically happy reply out of her, insisting on your permission to invite any of your new friends anytime. She really was the best mom ever, so adorably supportive that you felt slightly bad for the tiny details you were hiding.
- For her, your date with Steve was like a peak in that started process of improvement she detected going on in you. Only the fact that you were going on a date was a wonderful thing to celebrate, but it was even better knowing who was taking you out. She got to adore Steve while getting to know him first as this very nice new common friend of her kids. His attitude around her helped, but she was already inclined to have a high esteem for him.
-  Time before she was listening to Karen brag about the wonderful boyfriend of her Nancy, ´What about your (y/n)? Any boys on the radar that you may have heard of?’ She asked her right afterwards, a question that sounded well intentioned but it was more like an extension of her bragging under the known assumption that you weren’t like Nancy.
- The funny thing was that when she got to find out about the breakup, because your best friend would talk with you about his dates with the eldest Wheeler, your mother was unaware of a lot of things. Very important pieces of the context for that breakup were lacking, like how Nancy and Johnnatan got close through the first interdimensional crisis. Those gaps gave her proper space to develop her own theories.
- She got convinced that Steve dumped Nancy for you because the dates matched that explanation. Since he began to show up at your house at the very same time that relationship ended, she thought that his initiated friendship with his son was an excuse to see you. The incredible amount of pride she felt about it was vindicating, even if it was based on lies your brother allowed her to believe. She couldn’t wait for you to go on that date so she could later brag back, she even invited Joyce to witness the moment so her claims would have backup. She was going to show up anyways, but the idea of helping Claudia to make Karen swallow her shitty casual comments for once was great too.
- Will and Johnnatan came with her too, which surprised you for a few reasons. The youngest Byers boy knew that Dustin would be at Steve's, providing him of support during his own preparations, while the oldest could get into an awkward situation if crossing paths with your date.
-  “ I have to remind him of taking good care of you. If you get bullied because of him and this dumb idea I swear I will kick his ass again.” Your best friend explained when you got to ask him about that part. “ and this time I’ll not be alone..”
You smiled, touched by his support yet intending to ignore the teasing reference, and replied with a little harmless joke made in complicity with his little brother.
“ I’m so sorry that your family has dragged you into this, Will.”
- El was also going to come, you invited her after getting to notice how purely happy she was when getting to do girly things in company. Hopper was supposed to bring her and leave, but he chose to stay as soon as he saw Joyce. They both became the adult company keeping your mom entertained.
- The greatest surprise was that Max showed up to be there for you while you were getting ready. You weren’t waiting for her because, after all, your little date was going to take place in the same context of Billy’s prom. In that simple gesture, just with her presence, she was indirectly showing to choose Steve and you over her step brother. It was sad, but it gave you a special kind of joy regarding the chances for bonding you had with her.
- You actually wondered if Billy cared for it, if he would notice her absence and get upset. Would he be taking it on both of you at the party? Should you get ready for it? It was a pretty evident possibility anyways, he was still obsessed with Steve even after stealing from him everything he used to care about. He was going to be crowned King in the once rightful place of your friend, yet it wouldn’t be enough. Billy was so stucked in his fixation with proving to be better than Steve at everything that you wondered if, deep down, he was jealous of how Max seemed to prefer him.
- At that particular time, she amazed you at a personal level through her accidental development of a similar role to the one Dustin was assuming with Steve. They were both, in their different ways, being the leading encouragement in your cheer boosting processes previous to the date. With the blasting of loud music as a confidence inducing factor, both kids were there to pump you up.
- In your house, the witch was being awakened to Motley Crue’s ‘ Shout at the Devil’. Despite your once expressed choice of giving up on Crue, because the mental association with the new asshole king of the school almost ruined their music for you, the truth was that their tunes were your place to go when you wanted to feel confident in a bitchy way. That was something that usually happened only behind the closed door of your room, but would have to come out in public for the situation you would be facing.
- Inspired by Max, you decided that Billy would only take Crue from your cold, dead hands because you weren’t giving up their music as you wouldn’t either give up your confidence to his possible attacks on it. Gareth arrived just in time to see the merry scene Max, El and you provided while jamming to ‘ Looks that Kill’ as you were working on your hair styling and he mocked you a little bit. First because he catched the joke, but also about how glam metal was esentially born as strip club music. However, you both agreed in the aspect of the awesome make up and he ended joining the mood anyways on the ‘ Helter Skelter’ cover. The Byers boys later laughed of the whole thing and you chose to take advantage of the opportunity to practice your first few in character jokes with them.
 - Gareth made a good first impression on the kids, but he was terrified of Hopper and practically ran to your room so he could hide from him. He did nothing particularly scary to get said reaction, your friend just wasn’t expecting to find the chief of police chit chatting while having coffee with your mom and Johnnatan’s.
-In a secret conversation, you simplified explanations for him saying that you bonded with Hopper through being his sitter. That sweet girl who complimented his black painted fingernails was actually the chief’s adopted daughter and a friend of Will, Max  and your then absent brother, who was with Steve. That didn’t stop him from freaking out, but you tranquilized him a bit claiming that it was a good thing because, if Eddie would ever get in trouble, you may be able to help.
- In the meantime, Steve was with Dustin pulling out a full show to ‘ King of the Mountain’ by Bon Jovi, fooling around together as he was getting ready. In the process of becoming close with you, he passed from a casual listener to an actual fan of the band and the associated memories had a lot to do with that. Even if it wasn’t something you would listen to all the time, or wouldn’t admit to your Hellfire friends to enjoy that much, Steve associated it with you precisely because it was this little first thing you got to share.
- Back when ‘7800 Farenheit’ was released he wanted to get a cassette copy of the album as soon as possible so he could share it with you, but his plan for you to indulge together in your guilty pleasure wasn’t about doing it in the safety of your home. Steve brought it to school so you could listen to it in breaks sharing your walkman.
-For as simple as that sounded, that ended up being an intimate moment between you two.. You needed to be very close to share the earbuds and the silence going on as you listened forced you to communicate with less words. Staring into each other’s faces to share reactions, subtle touching, Steve even got a good while to hug your waist and you seemed to be comfy in his arms. At some point you even ended up laying your head in his chest as you closed your eyes, but the damn bell announcing the end of the break screwed up the moment.
- He slowly began to embrace the comparison Dustin created around him and the marketed personality brand of the band’s singer. Deep down, he liked the idea of being this sweet, non threatening handsome boy bringing in some romance into your life and that was exactly what he wanted to do. That’s how he wanted to romance you, if there were any chances for it.
- El was the one who brought the question about romance to you. Comparing it to her experience as Mike’s date at the Snow Ball, she asked you if you were excited about dating Steve. Of course you were, but you weren’t going to get into the lovey ramble that she expected to hear. You created a deviation of topic through a self aware joke about your dating experience being shorter than hers despite you being older, what got you into the ‘ ‘first dates’ talk instead. Gareth made a joke from the perspective of the boys, something over the lines of ‘ How do those kids get to play dnd and get dates?’, to which you answered with another self aware mock. ‘ I know! Compared to me at their age, they socialize like preps.``
- There were no suspects on him from your side, you didn’t know nor imagined Eddie had intentions of spying on you through Gareth, but you wouldn’t confess in front of him anyway.
- The final result of the visual concept in your look for the party was outstanding and you were so happy. You felt to have accomplished your goal of looking slightly hot in an elegant look that had parodically rebellious undertones in its conception. Not audacious enough to break the dress code, but sufficient to make Joyce stop Hopper from throwing a protective comment as part of his immediate reaction.
- It was definitely a brave stance coming from you, perhaps one of the bravest you ever had, and you couldn’t wait to know Steve’s opinion. Your teen friends seemed impressed, Johnnatan being mostly shocked by the great change while Gareth was more about appreciating the final result of something you accomplished together.
- You hated to think about it as intensely as you did, but you were dying for one of Eddie’s reassuring comments. He would have praised you so enthusiastically, making a scandal of your looks in a way that wasn’t proper of any of your other friends. His supportiveness was different, it would feel so different to you and you thought that perhaps that had to be with your huge crush on him.
- Yet, there was something else about him. Certain doubts that you couldn’t decipher, so you labeled those as silly hope inspired perceptions. Eddie didn’t have any other female friends, there was no way for you to check if that was his standard behavior in friendships with girls.
- Confusing details, like the pet names. Johnnatan had a friendship of years with you, absolute trust, yet he would never be calling you his sweetheart. Eddie had a long list of lovely things to call you, that being the one at the top of it. Baby girl, dollface, my best girl, no other friend of yours was using words like those… with the exception of Steve’s heartfelt sounding ‘ darling’. There was also that time he called you babe and Eddie didn't let it pass without making fun of him.
- Another previous similar incident also derived in teasing, but from a very different sort. While Eddie mocked him as if he wouldn’t be allowed to use those sorts of words with you, Billy laughed at you as if you were the proof of Steve’s downfall. ‘ Are you that much desperate for pussy, Harrington?’ he said in the short pause between his loud laughing from a similar joke Tommy commented before. As if that could be the only reason Steve should have to call you nice things and that should be a shame for him because of who you were, a plain looking nobody compared to the girls he used to have before. Never in years did you wanted to slap someone so badly.
 - There were no justifications afterwards, as usual when a pet name for you would sneak into his phrasing. In that particular time, Steve was also too worried about comforting you against any possibility of being affected through an insulting comment that was meant for him.
- Looking good, in the measure of your possibilities, was a matter of honor. Not only yours, but Steve's. You weren't Nancy, but wanted him to feel at least a bit proud beside you. The proudest he could be alongside a girl like you, what wasn't saying much in your opinion.
- 'If only you could be good enough to make that dickehead regret from spitting hate', you would think while remembering the rage you felt. If he would have known, Eddie would have found the way to convince you of it.
- Despite the normal  doubts, you were feeling the change as some sort of dehinibitive transformation. You were ready to ruin with your attitude any possibilities for anyone to bother Steve through you.
- By the time the doorbell rang you were still being photographed by your friends. It was Johnny's time to shine, he took some pics of you with the kids, with your drummer friend and a few solo ones while you were playfully pretending to pose for him as if you were modeling. Max took a few Polaroids for you as well, relieving the photographer so he could also get pics with you.
- Dustin rushed to find you before Steve would, all smiles because of how happy he was about the whole situation.
- " You look so beautiful and badass. " He commented on your looks with excitement. " You ARE a beautiful badass. "
You hugged him on spot.
" I love you, Dusty."
" ... and you will love me more once you will get to see Steve."
- It took him an instant to notice the stranger around and his mind got quickly into one wondering. The dude looked like a metalhead, but he couldn’t tell which one. Was he the one you have been suffering about? The one who got your date with Steve THAT MUCH delayed because you simply couldn't stop thinking about him?
- ' Chill, he is the drummer. ' Johnnatan whispered at him ríght before introductions would happen.
Dustin didn't have to speak for him to guess what was going on in his mind.
- All you got to see was your brother gently welcoming your friend as they were being introduced. Dustin actually asked him about his instrument, wordlessly guessing him a member of Corroded Coffin. When Gareth confirmed for him that he was a drummer, he gave him a weirdly on spot compliment. According to the kid, it should have been easy to guess because he looked like he could fit into the ' smiling sunshine drummer' stereotype.
- There was no doubt he was your little brother, he knew exactly what he was talking about. A few minutes of small talk were enough for him to give proof of the awesomeness you always described.
- Before doing your walk of glory in direction to your date, you deviated for a quick last look in the full body size mirror on your mom's bedroom. What you found was pretty nice, definitely not that bad. You were a fitting replacement, good in a double context. Your looks worked as a different, but mildly adequate substitute for Nancy as Steve's date. Also, as you heard Dustin pridefully commenting, you looked like you could be a censorship pushed replacement character in your beloved trashy horror show.
- In that one you had to disagree, you were seeing it more like an imaginary occasional supporting character showing up from time to time to pop a joke with Elvira and only in very few episodes. That was the energy you were feeling at the moment, a more adequate description of how you were mentally preparing to deliver the comedy mechanism in case of need.
- On the long awaited meeting the amazement was very much mutual. You managed to hide it behind your smile, but Steve was almost gone in the contemplation. You had no doubts that you must have surprised him, because only your voice got him back to reality.
- " Hi, Steve. " You shyly saluted him, the confidence you were feeling faded a bit because of how handsome you found him. " Are you ready to do this?"
" You are stunning. " He replied, still in awe. Heat flowed through your cheeks because he said it as if he was truly convinced of it. " Who the hell cares who will be crowned tonight? You are a queen... Can witches be queens or is it against your rules? "
" I'm sorry if you expected an alliance with some enemy kingdom through this arranged marriage. " You joked as a parody of what you imagined as a fake date situation. " I am just a witch. I can only be called a Queen through you, since you are King Steve"
" Not anymore."
There was acceptance of that in his voice, not the same disappointment you heard some  time before. Yet, you couldn't help yourself and you just had to say the sweetest thing that crossed your mind.
" Thorin didn't stop being acknowledged as ' King Under the Mountain' by the dwarves of Erebor just because Smaug usurped his kingdom. You may have been kicked out of your spot, but I don't mind who has it. You are still my King… and you look way more handsome than Tommy Ross ever could."
- Steve wished he could have kissed your lips ríght there, but he gave you a tender peck on top of your forehead instead. You later kissed one of his cheeks and caressed the other.
- From that startpoint, the romance could only escalate.
- After the typical smiling prom couple photo session, and some more pics with Dustin that you wanted to have now that he was there, you both were ready to go. The adults filled you both with typical goodbye advice and congratulated your date for his graduation one last time, while your best friend took his moment to make the promised warning. It didn’t come out as a scary threatening thing, but Johnnatan was letting Steve know of how much he cared for you. The chief of police would have loved to help if a scare would have been the intended effect, but he was pretty sure that Joyce’s son was handling things very well.
- On the way to your destination Steve filled you with all sorts of reassurance. He told you for the hundredth time that he was absolutely happy with the choice he took when he invited you, revisited your plan with you and even allowed you to listen to whatever music you preferred on the car ride.
- As a result, you arrived there blasting “ Go to Hell” by Alice Cooper, a track in a mixtape you picked from your own collection. Self aware self-bullying making fun of claims made by others,a middle finger to the horror inspired in the normals. Your maniacally sounding singing, purposely trying to make your voice deeper, was hilarious to him. The party wasn’t even beginning and your warming up to get in character was already making him chuckle really hard.
- You stepped in holding hands, a gesture that you initiated halfway in the parking lot. Steve couldn’t help rooting for you as he felt in your tight grip the nerves you were trying so hard to hide. That time you were for once the clueless one crossing unknown territory: it was your first date in your first dance since middle school. You were going 0 to 100 in one take, about to attend a prom night when it wasn’t even your graduation year.
- People did stare at you, showing a mix of reactions that oscilated between surprise and amusement. It was most likely that many weren’t expecting he would show up there with you for real. No one would say a word, of course, until the King and his little court would make the honors. Tommy and Carol, commanded by Billy, couldn’t wait to begin the humiliation of Steve.
- “ You know? When I said ‘ There are plenty of bitches in the sea’ … I didn't mean this.” Hargrove cassualy commented to him, making the opening for the other two.
“ … Just when we thought you hit rock bottom. '' Tommy followed. “ Have some fucking self respect, Harrington! This is low, even for you. A whole new fucking level of low, you are taking out the freak’s trash!”
- Glancing at your date with confidence, showing determination, you let him know that you were going to handle them and he was invited to join the fun.
“ Which freak’s trash am I ? You gotta be more specific, I know way too many dudes that fall on the label: Byers, Munson, Hellfire itself.”
“ The perv, not the satanist. “ Carol added, happy to get a free way to bother you once more like in the old times. “ He got rid of his puppy friend because he doesn’t need it anymore, now he has the princess.”
“... While this dumbass is stuck with me because he is alone.” You cutted her off. “ Yeah, I know. Thanks for the reminder, Carol. Pointing out the obvious, as always. Steve over here should be ashamed of himself for showing up in public with the bitch that not even the perv of Byers would fuck. A sad, pathetic maggot that he befriended to feel bigger than someone else for once and now Munson protects for pity.. Is that the whole speech or am I missing something? “
She didn't see it coming, neither did her boyfriend. Time before, back when it was only Johnnatan and you against the world, you would have remained silent.
“ No one asked you, Henderson. Enjoy the princess’ spot, but you are still a frog.”
You cracked a strident laugh, not forcefully delivered in a witchy tone, but so spontaneous that it felt maniacal.
“ Is that all you have, Hagan? “ You clearly challenged him, intense eye contact showing so. '' On that you are mistaken, allow me to show why. While you got distracted playing Tommy Lee for Billy’s terrible Vince Neil-like acting, I found my purpose. What I was always meant to be: I am not a princess, not a frog … I’m a witch. “
- You blatantly ignored the happily hateful couple, confidently advancing towards Hargrove. At that point no one, not even Steve, could tell what you were about to do.
“ I have the most wholehearted thanks to you, Billy. You came to change everything.  ” You ironically commented. “ Last year I used to think that Steve Harrington,Tommy Hagan and his bitch were the worst bullies in existence… but you showed me the light! The truth is that Steve sucks at being a bully and his pathetic ex followers barely do a bit better. They are dumb children compared to you! Our true King, the previous one would never reach your league! King Steve was clearly meant to join your crew of flatterers, hoping he could learn a thing or two to improve his bullying routine, or perish in exile among outcasts like me. My lips don’t tremble at saying that you, Billy Hargrove, are the most efficient King Hawkings High ever had and you leave behind yourself a legendary legacy.”
He was genuinely confused, but didn’t stop you because he was evaluating Steve’s reaction. After all, it was a flattery speech even if it was for the wrong reasons.
“ Your inaugural act? Stealing the more plastic and badass looking aspects of metalhead culture.. FREAKIEST FREAK SUBCULTURE? Woow, what a power move! You told us all that this time it wouldn’t be just insults and punches, you came here to take our identity. You were a threat for what we weren’t immediately prepared for, you managed to surprise the most cynical and skeptical crowd here … and that was just the start. “
“ I don’t know what the hell is wrong with you, but I can't say that doesn’t sound flattering.” He mocked you, trying to bother your date through that. “ See, Harrington? Even your freak bitch knows I am better than you and she is not even afraid of saying it.”
Steve was about to cackle, but he allowed you to continue to not spoil the surprise effect..
“ Of course you are, Billy! The best ruler we ever had, for so, the most despicable human being I have come across in my goddamn school life. “ Was your speech’s punchline. “ You have no idea of what your rullership has created, or how it personally helped me. I owe you so much, I will be eternally thankful. Because of you, the freak nation has finally united and I stopped hiding. You took our shit, you beated up our children … you gave us no choice. In the peaceful times of King Steve I wasn't joining forces with Hellfire yet here I ended up!  Laughing my ass with Eddie Munson because of how dumb you look when you copy some of the badass shit that made him famous as a weirdo. The same shit I love, but wouldn’t make evident because I was afraid of being me in front of the lovebirds hiding behind you. ‘Fearing WHO?’ I began to ask myself, ‘ IF THAT DICKHEAD OF HARGROVE CAN DO IT, WHY NOT ME?’ “
You were absolutely unhinged and you could feel it in yourself.
“ Your realm ends tonight. Next year we will have to face Jason Carver’s realm of terror, but we will do it more united than ever. When the Spanish Inquisition will be hunting down heretics, I will not be hiding anymore and I owe that to you.”
“ Seriously, man. I wouldn’t want to be in the shoes of your successor. “ Steve followed you. “Those freak bitches are crazy! Because you invaded their thing now they think they have the right to invade ours. Great job, King, you leave this place in chaos!”
An ironic comment about how you were there because he invited you that he closed while giving Billy a path on the shoulder, then turning back cackling with you.
- When the heat of the moment calmed and you realized what you did Steve was even more excited than you and his ramble about it actually got to impress you.
- " THAT WAS FUCKING AWESOME!! We just did the same thing the Sex Pistols did to the british queen. You were two seconds away from saying ' God Save the King’ "
He kept laughing, unaware that you were staring at him in awe.
" How do you know about that?"
Realizing it slipped from him accidentally, Steve got a bit nervous while explaining himself to you.
" I have been learning stuff in case of needing a cool conversation topic so you wouldn't get bored. " He admitted. " Fantasy was way too complicated, the world buildings are so confusing, so I tried with some history of rock. "
- it was the sweetest caring gesture he could have shown to you, making you feel as weak for him as he was for you.
" I can't believe it! You have been saving it all for tonight.”
" I didn't expect to be talking about the founding fathers of punk so soon, but what we did was very punk."
"... Wait, wait.. Are you learning about subgenres?" You asked, with curious amazement, then delivered a little tease. " Stop ríght fucking now, Harrington. Coming from you, that feels like dirty talking."
“ I just want to keep my date entertained.”
“ Damn it, you are so sweet! Now I will have to learn about sports rules.”
- Despite the fact that there was a world of people there, you were too deep into each other to care. You laughed, drank and danced, not caring for what others would think of you.
- Of course, you also got into some casual talking with whoever that would dare to approach you. Many people did, mostly to salute Steve. Joking was your way to go in your own interactions or when asked stuff about you. Steve was able to tell that the amount of complexity was proportional to your comfort in the social situation. When being around people that made you feel mildly comfortable, you would pull the sillier ones. When the environment was more hostile, you would get creative.
- Then, Chrissy Cunnighan approached and you went insane. Not like the last time, it wasn’t ironical aggressiveness. You were excited because the sweet cheerleader had a very positive reaction to your jokes. Her first comment directed to you, after greeting Steve and commenting about this older friend of hers who was graduating with him, was a compliment about your dress.
- “ I gotta say it, I’m getting strong Carrie flashbacks with this.”
She laughed, what surprised you for real, because to do so she had to understand the reference.
“ Do you know what I am talking about?”
“  I watched the movie once.. The bullied girl that moves things with her mind, right?”
- Your immediate thought? No wonder why Eddie liked her, that girl was a ray of sunshine. Still, you didn’t let your jealousy ruin the moment and you choose to react with the same excitement you would in front of any other cheerleader catching one of your horror references. Keeping your harmless mocks, you told her that the red dress was your self brought bucket of pig’s blood and you weren’t Carrie, but you were still a bit of a witch.
“ Don’t worry, (y/n) is not here to kill us. “ Steve added, joining you for support. “ She wants to look like a witch because of some stupid nickname Tommy and Carol have given to Nancy. They call her princess, so my current date wasn’t feeling comfortable in a princess dress.”
You glanced at him, feeling exposed because of a motive you didn’t tell him, while his response was smiling at you with something stronger than support.
- Some of your more creative comedy material was delivered there for Chrissy in a non confrontational way. Following the dress topic, you invented a story about how it was made for you in Hell on the same red fabric of Satan’s cape. A boatman brought it to you on Express Infernal Mail, a parody of Charon that you presented as the Devil’s delivery guy bringing stuff to the lakeshore. The tale was getting exponentially crazy as the laughs of your two persons only audience intensified, your imaginative storytelling being then at the service of the comedical goals.
- It was a matter of time until Jason would arrive to try to screw up the moment. Protectiveness over his girlfriend and his own spite against you caused blatant horror on him as a witness of the situation.
- “ I know that you want to be nice, but some people just don’t deserve it.” He sweetly explained to Chrissy right after doing a shitshow about how you were a freak and she shouldn’t get close to you.
- Steve’s blood was boiling, but he choose to defend you by following the rules of your defense mechanism.
- “ Chill, she is vaccinated and free of fleas. I made sure she wouldn’t be bringing up anything contagious before bringing her in.”
You immediately followed the joke, acting out as if you were a dog angrily growling and teasing with biting if Jason would get any closer to you.
- It wasn’t your intention, but Steve couldn’t help finding your attitude a bit hot. The challenging way in which you were pulling out the joke made him think of you more as a shewolf than his dog pet. It probably had to be with the fact that he was already into you, but he definitely found it sexy despite it being intended to be funny.
- Chrissy kept chuckling and she commented to her boyfriend on how funny she found you and how surprised she was by just finding out that you were Steve's date. Jason told her that he had heard of it before, but refused to believe it.
- There was such an outrageous disgust on that dude, as if you were committing a crime against nature just by standing there next to Steve. It inspired you into bringing on the best joke of the night.
- “ It’s not a date, he is a zombie. I hexed him and now he obeys my will. “ You began to explain in a deathly serious tone to make the crazy tale even funnier. “ Some time ago Billy Hargrove attacked the group of baby freak friends my little brother is in. He wanted to beat the crap out of them, so I told myself ‘ Enough is enough, I have to protect my boys: time to get a jock babysitter’, and Steve was right there. I put a spell on him and.. problem solved!”
Seeing that Steve was comfortable with the joke, you got straight to the great finale.
“ He is my first prototype, Eddie thinks that by the time I will become a master of the magic arts I will be able to create an entire army of zombie jocks solving our every need. My plan is to give each one an unique function: Steve is the babysitter, I’m thinking I could take revenge on Hargrove by making him a trophy manwhore… What is yours good at, Chrissy? Besides basketball and ruining everyone else’s fun.”
-  Before the madness could escalate, Steve made Jason follow him into getting you and Chrissy something to drink. It was an excuse to have private conversation while giving you a bit more time to interact with the person who made you feel the most comfortable there, besides from himself.
- " Seems like our dates are having fun without us." He commented to Jason with a certain amusing complicity that only reflected how happy he was for you.
There was no direct answer, only a return from the point he made before that this time felt like honest jock to jock advice.
" I don't get you. What are you doing with that freak, Harrington? Are you out of your mind?"
" More like thinking on my own for the first time in my life. " Steve frankly confessed. " I know, you look at her and all you see is a weirdo. People like you,Tommy, Carol, even Billy... You think of her as some sort of abomination and she knows it, that's why she chooses to act like that. She is giving you all what you want before you could try to get it violently, bullying her. Look at yourself, for instance: you used to ignore her, you don’t even know her name, yet since she hangs out with the nerds she has become to you the witch servant of the devil you see in Munson… You have no idea of how wrong you are. "
He could have stopped there, but he chose to trap his interlocutor into a ramble about very precise little things showing the niceness in you.
" She is top of her class in English and she wants to be a writer. She practically begged me to let her check the writing on my college applications because she wanted so badly to help me out, but i refused because she is so smart and I didn’t want to look dumb in front of her. ``was his introductory point. “ ( y/n) is a total sweetheart: she refuses to read Pet Cemetery because the thing about animal death makes her extremely sad. She thinks that someday she will be able to, but hasn't tried yet. She cries to the original Frankenstein, even more now because for some reason mad science horror reminds her of a little girl who is friends with her brother. “
He made a very brief pause before getting into his favorite topic.
“That boy is her life, she loves Dustin more than anything in the world. Whenever he has had a bad day, feels nervous or sad, she sings him. He is 13 and super ashamed of letting anyone know that he still enjoys it, but I discovered it once when I stayed with them for a sleepover just to cheer him up. It is always the same song: Stairway to Heaven. She thinks it is the most cliché thing ever because it is the most cliché Zeppelin song, but she began doing it years ago when she didn't remember by heart as many rock song lyrics as she does now. Since then, she has never been able to switch the song. She once risked trying with Don't Fear the Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult, but she felt it didn't have the same effect. She actually doesn't like her singing voice because it is not a metal voice and that is a bit of a frustration for her. It's true, hers isn't raspy or aggressive and she complains about how all she sings ends up sounding like a lullaby, but I think that's magic. That girl over there, that you see as some bitch doing business with the spawn of Satan, loves her little brother to death and sings to him like a freaking angel. "
That wasn't going to change a thing, but at least he spoke from his heart. If you would have been able to hear, you would have discovered the pure adoration he had for you being blatantly exteriorized.
" Maybe there is some truth in what she says, you could be hexed for real. Have you thought about it?" Jason concluded, a mock regarding the evident and very fast change in Steve." I would be more careful if I were you."
- It wasn’t a spell, those were his feelings talking for him. He simply couldn’t stand the way in which that guy showed to despise you. It didn’t seem fair, especially because you were having a good time right before that.
- The highest peak of awkwardness happened when Chrissy and Steve danced together for a short instant, leaving you and her dickhead boyfriend one on one wondering what the hell were you both supposed to do.
- You two couldn’t even attempt to do small talk without pissing each other off.
-  " It is part of the cult initiation to develop Munson's nonsensical sense of humor? "
His comment was nonsensical, but you didn't mind answering to it.
"That was just my own version of a horror comedy routine, moron. ' Elvira, Mistress of the Dark' ... Ever heard of that character? "
Jason looked at you in the most despicable ' Are you serious?' way. It only made you want to snark back harder.
" Ríght, I forgot. It must be hard to find chances to watch tv on the ruins of an abandoned summer camp. All you must be doing is sharpening that machete waiting for the next round of dumb teen campers. "
As silly as it sounded, that still seemed to annoy him. It was most likely about being used to being the one controlling the jokes, not being laughed at.
" Do you really think you are funny just because that freak of Munson cheers for you? "
" Of fucking course, I am hilarious.” You confidently affirmed. “If you were smart, you would be preparing a Jason Vorhees costume for Halloween, but I know you aren't gonna do that. You are incapable of admitting a flaw, you can't laugh at yourself and that's where I win."
Inspired by the situation, you finished with a simple warning.
" I feel I need to let you know I am not switching masters. Perkins and Hagan lost the power over me they once had, but you are not gonna be occupying that void. Never again, I will not let anyone of your kind bring me down. "
He managed to deliver a comeback that actually surprised you, although that reaction wasn't about him.
" Harrington believes you are different, he even seems proud of you. Try to not disappoint him. "
- You didn't hesitate in asking Steve what was that about. It was how you got to find out that he tried to pitch you to Carver as a nice person.
-" I did it because he upsets me, that lame ass church boy doesn't know shit about you. " Your date justified himself. " You are the sweetest, kindest girl, you would give anyone a second chance. That's what you did for Johnnatan after that questionable photography scandal we all try to forget. Later you did it for me, giving me a fresh start after all I have done. You have given Munson the first chance that nobody gives him and I am sure that you would even give a second shot to Hargrove if he would someday ask for it. That's who you are, you have the patience and mercy of a saint. "
" Don't exaggerate, you don't have to keep praising me like that. I really don't care about your past as a bully. "
" But I do care about other bullies hurting you." He sweetly insisted. " Next year I will not be there for you at school. If Carver is taking the lead, I wish he could be a bit nicer to you. All i did was planting the seed, what he does with that is on him. "
His concern was adorable, you really loved him for trying despite of how naive that was.
" Are you trying to make me his exception?"
" Chrissy seems to like you, she was having a lot of fun with us."
" Jason Vorhees makes no exceptions. He is a zombie settled in automatic pilot to kill anything that triggers him. You can't beg for your life, you can't argue with him. All you can do is disguise yourself in his mother's sweater to distract him and pray for the best as you pick a weapon to fight back."
" What if Mama Vorhees tells him that you are a good girl?"
His occurrence was way too funny.
" Do you see yourself as Mama Vorhees in this, Steve?"
" Well, someone has to and it can't be Chrissy. That would be too weird."
- He was hugging you and you began to laugh so hard that you buried your face against his neck to hide. Ríght there, he felt he couldn't be asking for anything more.. Except, maybe, feeling you place a kiss or two since you were in the fitting position for it. That would have been heaven.
- Steve was determined to get that first kiss, his feelings were overwhelming him. As the night advanced, he kept revisiting in his mind his perfect fairytale plan to make it be the most romantic moment of your life.
- After the coronation, during a slow dance. It was the most meaningful moment to do it, showing that he really didn't care about anything you thought he did. Only then you would see that you weren't there just to be a post breakup, post popularity emotional support.
- His heart was racing at the moment of the announcement, an ironic contrast to how the old Steve would have felt. If he once thought he would have been excited about getting the spotlight through being crowned King with Nancy as his Queen, all he wanted then was getting lost in the shadows with you.
- Things took a very unexpected turn when, as Billy and his date were proclaimed elected royalty, you were the one pulling Steve closer for a kiss and you wouldn’t let him go. Your spontaneous reaction got him into the happiest shock, he would have never seen it coming.
- That wasn’t how it was supposed to go. You, his so far dateless freaky friend, kissing him before he could get to kiss you? It was a ‘Carrie revealing her power’ level of surprise, but with very happy consequences.
- “ What the hell was that?” He whispered to you immediately afterwards, blissfully numbled to anything else.
“ I’m making Max proud.” Was your vague explanation, some of your usual shyness returning from the high.
“ You really transform into someone else with this look. Is it like your superhero costume? Are you the Scarlet Witch now? “
The sweet tease surprised you again.
“ Steve!” You happily exclaimed. “ Where did that come from?”
“ I’m making Dustin proud.”  He confidently explained before falling a bit into dorkish territory once more. “ I heard him making jokes and just tried to copy that. I have no idea who she is besides a witch dressed in red.”
You smiled sweetly for him and that was all he cared about.
- Although you had a clear objective, it couldn’t be said that you weren't acting on your own impulses. Your main goal was to ruin Billy’s chance of bragging to Steve from the peak of Olympus, preventing him from obtaining a direct reaction when he would glance in his direction. However, a part of you did want to kiss him.
- What was the point of not doing so? You didn’t have a boyfriend. Your friend/crush was into someone else and that girl was so wonderful that just in one interaction she made you wish you could befriend her.
- Strictly speaking, you were applying the very same concept Eddie taught you when he offered himself as guide and test subject of your first making out experiment. Steve needed a distraction so when Billy would search for his reaction from his spot on the stage, he wouldn’t get it and wouldn’t taste the triumph. That’s what friends are for, it would be rude not to do so.
- After a while to cool things down, Steve made you follow him into the very first real slow dance of your life. “ I Want To Know What Love Is” by Foreigner was the sounding background of your clumsy attempt in replacing Nancy at the peak romantical moment of the night. That was the time in which you were expected to pretend to be the princess, but even a thirteen years old girl raised in a lab once showed to be more ready than you for that.
- “ I wasn’t made for this.” You mockfully excused yourself to Steve in a shy whisper that sounded like a true call for help.
“ You aren’t self bullying out of this one, darling.” He cutted you off.” Not with me, I know your game and I have seen enough of it.”
He stared intensely into your eyes, absolutely serious in what he was about to say.
“ You deserve lovely things happening to you because you are lovely. There is no one else I would want to be dancing with here and now.”
- Changes in the original idea aside, his plan was still accomplished and it was the most romantic thing that ever happened to you, at least in a traditional sense of romance.
- You arrived back home late and your excitement was such that you were sure you wouldn’t be able to sleep. Dustin fell asleep waiting for you, he passed out on the couch and you chose not to wake him up. There would be plenty of time in the morning to talk about everything.
- All you wanted was to lock in your room to collapse in your mattress and think, process all the stuff that happened before you could get to focus on understanding it. Once you got there, switching lights on and sitting in your bed for an instant, you thought on what to do next.
- First, you needed to remove your make up and get in comfy clothes. Get rid of your alter ego, back into your usual approach. After a good while passing by the bathroom to collect some of the stuff you needed, like a remover lotion that was in a shared little cabinet for makeup, you returned to your bedroom and into a shocking discovery.
 - “ Hi, sweetheart! You should really check that backdoor. Does your brother sneak out a lot or are you the naughty one?.” Eddie received you, standing in front of you and inside your bedroom with the sweetest, most innocent smile.
There was no immediate reply, you were confused and speechless.
“ … Look at you, honoring us all while looking so damn gorgeous. “ He continued and you couldn’t help feeling weak, even if you weren’t sure of how to process his presence. “ You are a hot babe.. You know that? It’s like if you were born for that look, too metal for jock hell. I bet you terrorized a lot of populars.”
Your brain was begging you for self control, yet you giggled like an idiot.
“ Are you up for an after-after- party? Just you and me, of course.”

Redeeming big brother; Steve Harrington x pre-teen sis reader
*Author’s note*
Okay so this is a pretty short sweet little ficlet that went around my head for awhile. Like I said I’ve been wanting to write a Steve Harrington fic since s.2 came out but I didn’t have the time nor the inspiration to write him a story until I decided to first do a platonic fic and BOOM!! Cause let’s face it, Steve is the Babysitter and I could imagine him being the type of brother that I made him in this oneshot so I hope you guys enjoy this little fic and until next time :)

“Look all I’m saying is that he could’ve at least had his parents drive to pick you up.” Steve said to me.
“I told you Steve, Tony said he was carpooling with his friends because his dad’s mustang was in the shop.”
“The shop right yeah.” He muttered.
“You know you didn’t have to drive Dustin and I to the Snowball, we could’ve asked his mom.”
“No, no I needed to make sure that little shit didn’t try anything with you.”
“Eww Steve what the hell! Dustin and I do not like each other like that. You know that.”
“Still I just wanna make sure that even when you’re dressed all……you know—”
“Barbie? A slut?”
“Hey! You are not that don’t ever call yourself that even if you’re joking. You-you look beautiful. Really you do. It’s just…..” he took a deep sigh as clenched the stirring wheel.  “You don’t dress up this nice like most girls do. And I’d hate for those boys to suddenly see you and think they need to jump your bones.”
“They’re not like that Steve. Plus Max will have my back, and you know how savage we can be together.”
“Believe me I saw it for myself. All I’m saying is don’t let any boy try to take advantage of you. Especially this Bobby guy.”
“His name’s Tony.”
“That’s what I said, Darrell.” I rolled my eyes as Steve pulled into Dustin’s curb and honked the horn.
We sat there for a few minutes which allowed me to check my makeup, nothing too extreme just some blush, a bit of eye shadow to match my blue dress and checked to make sure my hair was alright.
“Hey, c’mon now.” Steve lifted the visor up.  I looked at him annoyed but he assured me with a gentle look in his eyes “I already told you, you look beautiful.”
I’ll admit.  He really was trying to be the brother he once was.  Ever since he became ‘King Steve’ he never wanted anything to do with me. Said I was too nerdy to be with someone ‘cool’ like him.  It really hurt to lose my brother like that to the poison that was popularity.
And he only seemed to get worse as the years went by, especially when he was involved with the whole Nancy ‘the Slut’ Wheeler vandalization at the local theater.  But ever since he got involved with the Upside down, and he broke free of that dick Tommy Hagan and that bitch Carol, he started to change.
Especially this past year.  He’s even tried to mend our bond but when the events of the Upside down began to come back with Will, the Demodogs and Max’s asshole brother Billy (not Upside down related, he’s just an asshole. Nearly killed me, Dustin and Lucas while we were biking home from school on Halloween).  And Nancy broke up with Steve, he seemed a bit more—emotionally vulnerable.
He wanted to be with me but I had other problems at the time with Dustin and his ‘secret pet’.  That’s when Steve, Dustin and I became the starting team in this whole demodogs thing, then one disaster fell after another until we were finally able to get the gate close permanently and get rid of all the demodogs.
Finally Dustin came racing down and I couldn’t stop but stare at the nest on top of his head.
“Thanks for the ride guys.” He said getting into the back seat.
“Uhh Dustin, what the hell happened to your head?” I asked him.
“What?”
“Your head. I’ll need to find Diana Ross’ number because I think I just found her hair.”
“Shut up!” Dustin snapped at me.  “My hair does not look like hers.”
“You’re right you’re right. It actually looks like if Elvis was given a bad perm.” I laughed.
“Alright you little shit ease up on him. Ignore her Dustin, she’s just jealous because it took her five hours just to get her hair like this.” I punched Steve’s arm and ordered him.
“Just drive asshole.” As Dustin giggled from the backseat, Steve turned the car back on and he drove us to the school.
He pulled us in and we could see from the cat some of the Snowball decorations and could hear the music playing loudly.
“Hey Hover switch seats with me, I need to check the mirror now.” Dustin said.
“Dustin you know I was kidding right. You look great.”
“She’s right. Now remember, when you walk in there.”
“Pretend I don’t care.” Dustin said.
“You don’t care.”
“I don’t care.”
“Honestly why did you have to say that? That’s literally the worst advice ever Steve.” I scoffed rolling my eyes and shaking my head solemnly. “Dustin continues to listen to you and he’ll be single until he’s 30.”
“Okay that’s overexaggerating. Don’t listen to her Henderson. You’re gonna go in there, look like a million bucks, and you’re gonna slay them dead.”
“Like a lion.” Dustin then let out a purr to which both Steve and I cringed.
“Yeah don’t do that.” Steve told him bluntly.
“Ever again.” I also told him.
“Right.” Dustin agreed before he got out of the backseat and I followed suit.  Soon pulling up behind us was a large black SUV it slowly came to a stop before the front door opened to reveal one of Tony’s friends, Andrew.
“Thanks mom. See yah at 10.” Soon the back door opened and more of Tony’s friends piled out until Tony was the last one to come out. My heart fluttered in my chest as my palms started to grow a bit sweaty.
“What you just gonna sit there and gawk (Y/n)?” Dustin said to me.
“Shut up Henderson.” I said.  I took a deep breath and took about two steps forward only to stop and see someone else coming out of the SUV as well.  It was the biggest bitch in the whole seventh grade, Jenna LoDuca and she was holding Tony’s hand.
“Thanks baby.”
“No prob babe. Ready to head in?” Tony asked her.
“Yeah thanks.” She said as they walked hand in hand towards the gym following behind Tony’s friends.
My heart shattered and fell into my stomach as I looked down. So he really didn’t care.  He never cared to begin with. He didn’t even have the guts to tell me that he was gonna take out Jenna instead of me, he could’ve at least told me.
“(Y/n)? Hey it’s…..” Dustin started off but I didn’t want to hear it.  I took off running as tears fell down my face.
I don’t know where I ended up but all I know was that I wasn’t at the back entrance where the dance was but I was still within the school grounds.  I kicked the gravel under my feet harshly scuffing up the 1 inch high heeled shoes mom got me on her last business trip (even though I hate anything that isn’t a sneaker or sandal on hot days).
“(Y/n).” I sniffled and crossed my arms over my chest.
“I don’t wanna hear it Steve!” I snapped.
“Okay. Do you…….do you want me to take you home?” he asked in a nervous, unsure tone.
“No. Because then I’ll have done all this for nothing. Plus Jenna will rub it in my face Monday.”
“Wait she bullies you?”
“It doesn’t matter Steve. Just go home and don’t bother me with this anymore.” I walked back towards the school and tried to clean my face off as best as I could before entering the school with a big fake-ass smile on my face.
I met with the guys at the table and they were surprised to see me come walking in.
“(Y/n) you—you actually came in.” Mike said.
“Of course, why wouldn’t I?”
“Because of Je—” Dustin started off by saying but Max kicked him in the shin.
“Don’t listen to them, there’s more to life than stupid boys. C’mon (Y/n) let’s get something to eat I’m getting a bit peckish.” Max came over and took me away from the boys.
“Thanks Max, I owe yah.”
“I’ll remember that for later. But for real, don’t worry about those turd wards. You’re more badass than the two of them are popular.” Max said playfully shoving my shoulder with hers.  That got a small smile out of me as we reached the food stand and we each got a plate of crackers, cookies and a cupcake.
As the dance went on, it soon came time for the slow dancing. At first Max declined Lucas’ offer to dance but since I could tell how long Lucas had probably rehearsed this, I told her it was okay so she and Lucas went to the dance floor together.
Then a girl from mine and Will’s art class came up and asked Will to dance (even though she called him Zombie boy).  Then Dustin went over to a group of popular girls to ask one of them to dance leaving Mike and me alone for the first song (it’d just be awkward to dance together).
When the next song came on, we both took notice of El coming into the gym now, all dolled up and pretty.  Mike stood up and walked towards her without saying a word to me (but truthfully he didn’t have to).
I was now all alone at my table, in fact looking around every one of my peers had a partner or were in their friend groups chatting along the sides of the gym.  And just ahead of me I could easily spot Jenna and Tony dancing together, hell they pretty much remained in my visual range throughout the whole slow song montage.
It was then my favorite Lionel Richie song, Truly began playing through the speakers.  I shifted in my seat uncomfortably and was just tempted to leave the gym and stay outside for the rest of the dance.
“Hey little Hover.” I looked up and saw my brother Steve wearing his homecoming tux and sporting his Risky Business shades.
“Steve? What are you…how did you get in here? You didn’t ask to volunteer.”
“I know. I’m not a volunteer. I’m your date.”
“Steve……”
“C’mon please. Don’t make me get on my hands and knees begging over this song cause you know I will. In front of all your friends and these people I’ll…..”
“Okay! Okay you big hairy oaf!” I said getting up and took his hand before we went over to the dance floor.  We stood before each other and he took my right hand into his left while his right rested along my waist and my other hand rested on his.
“He wasn’t worth it.” I looked at him as he lead me in the first few steps of our slow dance.  “Your tears. Boys this age are incredibly stupid and he’s gonna regret leaving you for that.” He gave a slight gesture of his head towards Tony and Jenna who were looking at us.
“Maybe it’s because I really don’t live up to the Harrington name.”
“Hey now…...”
“No Steve it’s true. I mean, look at her. She’s popular than me, she’s smart, and she’s way prettier than me.”
“Now that’s total bullshit.” He gave me a gentle spin before bringing me back into him.  “First of all you are smarter than your older brother. In fact you’re too smart. I swear dad never shuts up about how my 13 year old sister is smarter than me, a senior in high school. Second, being popular really isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, especially if it changes you for the worst.”
He stroked a baby strand of hair from my forehead and tucked it back over my teased hair.
“It makes you cruel and makes you blind to what’s in front of you. I swear the last thing I remember was you clinging onto your teddy bear you won at the 4th grade fair and now here you are. A teenager in the works who I think is the most beautiful girl in all of Hawkins.”
“Even more beautiful than Nancy Wheeler?” I asked skeptically.
“Especially more than Nance.” He said without hesitation.
“Best not let her hear you say that.”
“Truthfully I think you were her favorite Harrington more than me.” I softly laughed.  “No I swear, she’d always ask me when she’d see you. She even said at times she could trade Mike in for you.” Steve said through his laughing as he spun me outward our hands keeping a firm hold on each other before I spun back into him just as the song came to my favorite part.
Right as Lionel’s voice hit that crescendo, I was resting my head against my brother’s chest as my arms wrapped around his waist.  I felt him slightly pick me up and he placed my feet gently on top of his as I heard him softly sing along to the ending of the song.
It brought me back to the early days of my childhood when Steve and I were the best of friends.  Whenever I was sad or felt lonely from mom and dad’s constant work travels, Steve always played a slow song  over dad’s radio, he’d have me standing on top of his toes and the two of us would sway like this as he’d sing the song to me.
After the dance was over, I was just getting into bed when I heard a knock at my bedroom door.
“Knock, knock.” Steve’s voice spoke from the other side of the door.
“Speak friend and enter.” I said.
“You know I don’t speak that nerd language.”
“Then you cannot pass.” I teased him.  He knocked again and I couldn’t help but say, “I hear yah knockin, but you can’t come in!”
“(Y/n) at least tell me your decent.”
“Yes I’m in my jammies.” He opened the door and came right on in.  “No respect for your sister’s room. Why do you think I asked you to speak the password? It’s not that hard, the password is Mellon.”
“I’ll slow dance with you, sing to you, even fight interdimensional monsters with you. But never on this green earth will you get me to speak that nerd language.” He said as he came over and sat at the edge of my bed.
“It’s not nerd language is Elvish. Sindar to be exact.” Steve buried his face into his hand groaning softly.  “Hey, Dustin and I got you to watch Star Wars with us and you loved it. Which makes you a nerd too Stevie.”
“First of all just because I enjoy it doesn’t make me a ner—okay I see what you’re doing munchkin.” He said as he ruffled my head. “So, your first school formal. Besides the little jerk that shall remain nameless in this house, how was it before I got there?”
“It was alright. Mostly Max and I talked and of course the guys were giving Dustin a hard time with his hair. I think his natural curls just really threw the Farrah faucet spray off.”
“Yeah it did. But the kid needed the reassurance. Now correct me if I’m wrong but did he call you Hover back in the car.”
“Hover is my D&D character’s name. She’s a level 16 rouge assassin. Sometimes Dustin calls me that outside of the game.”
“So you used my nickname for you for your nerdy game?”
“Steve it’s not…..” he raised his hand and continued.
“I was just going to say it’s actually kinda sweet.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. Though I wish it was still between us. After all I’ve been calling you that since you could walk.” He said booping my nose. “Well it’s late, you should get some sleep.” At that point I let out a soft yawn and got under the covers.  “Goodnight Hover.” He stood up but before he left my room I grabbed his hand. I sat up and hugged him before kissing his cheek. “What was that for?”
“For being my big brother.”
“But I…..”
“I know you’ve been an asshole for the past few years now but in the past year you really have been trying. I could see you putting in the effort to try and fix things between us. You could’ve stayed the way you were, or worst become like Billy.”
“I’d rather get eaten by one of those dog things than ever raise a hand to you like that asshole does to Max.”
“I know. That’s why I’m grateful to have a brother like you. You may not be smart, but you’re a damn good big brother and I love you for that.” A smile came at the corner of his lips as he ruffled my hair again before leaning forward and kissed the crown of my head.
“You’re not so bad either squirt.” He pressed his forehead against mine and continued, “And I love you too.” I smiled softly as Steve pressed another kiss to my forehead before we told each other goodnight and he left my room and I soon fell fast asleep.

I think another kinda confusing thing about Joel and the date is how comfortable he was with Jan during the bar outing the last chapter.
Like, he didn’t shy away or look uncomfortable with her touches and even just excuses it away with that she’s just a bit drunk.
And even as just a reader/outsider, it kinda makes you go “hmm…” so actually being in that situation as the reader (confusing lmao but just seeing the reader as an actual character kinda thing) I can’t imagine how confusing that would be for her, especially after everything.
I know she definitely has her flaws and problems and has done some things wrong but seeing everything from her perspective, I just can’t help but feel for her. And be mad at Joel. All of this is just so hard and confusing for her and he just adds and adds to it. What did he think she would feel like? He has sex with her and immediately afterwards tells her he’s going on a date and the next day she sees them together with Jan being all touchy and everything. Like, to me, that would be a huge fucking hint to get lost! To forget all about him and try to move on!
Now, I’m trying to not be super harsh on Joel but he was being a bit of a shithead in that bathroom. I don’t wanna think he’s a stupid fuckboy that doesn’t care because there’s clearly a lot of feelings there from his side and I really want to give him the credit that he’s not that much of an idiot. (I know they’re both technically free to do whatever they want but this feels a bit like a Ross “we were on a break” situation lmao! Like yeah technically…. But it’s obvious it would be shitty?) I like to think that Joel is pretty emotionally mature and I hope he does get to prove that to us because right now… it doesn’t seem like it haha!
I am so glad the reader opened up like that, even if it was in a bit of a rage. I think her emotional reaction definitely shocked Joel a lot and I hope he realises that there’s also feelings from her side but that these kind of feelings are harder for her to deal with. I think Joel loves a lot and he loves very freely so it’s easy for him? It’s comfortable for him. But that’s not how it’s going to be for everybody! I’m very curious to see how this will continue with them. If Joel is gonna be honest about his date and if reader will tell him the actual reason for her injury and if they’re both just gonna admit there’s feelings and actually talk! And eventually Tommys reaction too! I feel like he’s gonna absolutely kick himself for setting up that date for Joel!
I’m very excited to read more hopefully soon! I’m really liking this and really loved the last chapter a lot! (I’ve reread it like 4 times now lmao!) much love to you!
🤍 YES, YES, AND YES TO EVERYTHING!! 🤍
Tumblr media
Thank you soooo much for this ask 😍😍😍 I hope you're prepared for a bunch of memes lol:
I think another kinda confusing thing about Joel and the date is how comfortable he was with Jan during the bar outing the last chapter. Like, he didn’t shy away or look uncomfortable with her touches and even just excuses it away with that she’s just a bit drunk. And even as just a reader/outsider, it kinda makes you go “hmm…” so actually being in that situation as the reader (confusing lmao but just seeing the reader as an actual character kinda thing) I can’t imagine how confusing that would be for her, especially after everything.
Hell. Yeah. Can you imagine? As you said, it's confusing as fuck for reader because all of this is coming out of nowhere and all at once! They've been seeing each other more or less regularly for like half a year at this point and he's never once told her about other women. (Of course, we don't know 100% if he never actually hooked up with anyone else or if he just never told reader.) But still, this situation is completely new to reader since Joel's been pretty open about only wanting her, and possibly wanting something more serious.
And yeah, what's up with the touching? Is he sleeping with Jan or was he just too polite to tell her to fuck off in front of everyone? Maybe Jan really is just drunk / not realizing what she's doing, or maybe she's just an affectionate person like Tommy for example? 🤔
She's giving in to her feelings a bit after they have sex and asks him to spend time with her at her place (which is a huge step for her!!) and then he pulls this shit...My reaction lmao:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then he's in the bar with someone else's hands all over him? Can you imagine? You've spent all this time with this guy, guarding your heart, being careful, keeping him at arm's length. And then, when you realize hmmm he's not like my ex or the other assholes I hook up with, he makes me feel safe and appreciated, and maybe I could let myself be happy with him, it looks like he's moved on. You've waited too long and lost your chance with him. Or maybe he never actually wanted to be with you anyway and you're just delusional. That's what's going on in reader's mind right now. Can you imagine how much that must hurt?
Can confirm: he is in fact not a stupid fuckboy! He's just dumb, like we all are sometimes. I think he has great emotional intelligence and he's a mature guy with life & love experience, but that doesn't mean he's perfect and won't make mistakes.
Tumblr media
I am so glad the reader opened up like that, even if it was in a bit of a rage. I think her emotional reaction definitely shocked Joel a lot and I hope he realises that there’s also feelings from her side but that these kind of feelings are harder for her to deal with. I think Joel loves a lot and he loves very freely so it’s easy for him? It’s comfortable for him. But that’s not how it’s going to be for everybody! And eventually Tommys reaction too! I feel like he’s gonna absolutely kick himself for setting up that date for Joel!
AAAAAH YOU GET IT!!!!!
Tumblr media
That's exactly what is happening!!!! Joel and reader are soooo different when it comes to expressing love / feelings!!! That's why reader was so shocked and hurt by the fact that Joel is going out with someone else. He's always been so open and comfortable with expressing his affection for reader and now she's super confused.
And Joel's so shocked at reader's admission of feelings because she's always held them in so much. This is literally reader lol:
Tumblr media
And now all of these feelings are out in the open and they can hopefully sit down, communicate and be honest with each other and themselves. 🤞 Also, lmao at Tommy. Do you think he knows already? Do you think he'd find it weird? He loves reader to death and I can't wait to show more of their relationship and why/how they know each other in future parts!!
I’m very excited to read more hopefully soon! I’m really liking this and really loved the last chapter a lot! (I’ve reread it like 4 times now lmao!) much love to you!
Thank you thank you thank you!! I'm so happy you're enjoying the ride! 😭🥹 What an incredible compliment that you're rereading my stuff! 🙏🤍 I'm currently working on a little one-shot with these two. It's a prequel to part 1, and I'll hopefully post it soon! 😋 I love you!!! 🤍🤍🤍🤍

Putting her back together | C. White
Tumblr media
Summary | When Tommy Ross sees that Carrie has sloppy bandages around her arms, he tries to help.
Pairing | Carrie White x Tommy Ross
Word Count | 503
Whumptober Prompt | Touch Starved + Sloppy Bandages
Tumblr media
"Carrie, come on, let me see." He reaches for her arms, but she pulls away, tugging her sleeves back down.
There's always been things on her arms; scrapes, welts, scars. Hell, once she'd walked into school with her arms in different shades of black and blue. But this is the first time he's seen her arms wrapped in actual bandages.
"No!" She can't look him in the eye anymore, not when hers are welling up with tears. "I'm fine." She's lying. She's so obviously lying and it kills both of them.
He reaches for her hand, gently intertwining their fingers, his thumb rubbing circles on her knuckles. "Carrie, you're not fine. Just let me see. You don't have to tell me what happened; I just need to make sure that you put the bandages on right." She sniffles, still won't look at him, even when she grabs the hem of her sweater and lifts it over her head.
He grabs her arm gently, holding onto her elbow as he takes note of 3 things. 1, There's a blood, a lot of it. 2, The bandages are way too loose to have any purpose. 3, He's going to fucking murder Margaret White.
He takes a deep breath. Stop, he thinks. You can't get angry right now. "You didn't put them on right, see? They're not tight enough," she only hums, tears starting to leak out of her eyes.
He grabs the first aid kit off the wall, opening it and taking out a roll of gauze and some disinfectant. He mentally prepares himself as he grabs her arm again, already knowing that what he's going to see is bad. He starts to peel off the bloody bandages slowly, letting out a shuddering breath as the injury came into view. It's a large gash, running from her inner elbow to her wrist. The other side has two slightly smaller ones, one on the outside of her elbow, just below her elbow, and the other is on running from the base of her thumb across her hand. The cuts aren't pretty. They're red, and covered and blood thats both dry and bleeding at the same time. If it's enough to make him feel sick, he can't imagines how Carrie feels right now. He runs his fingers over her arm gently, like she's made of glass and if he lets go she'll fall and shatter into a million pieces.
"Tommy," she pulls away. "What are you doing?" Her voice cracks and her face crumples. This is too much. The affection, the gentleness. It's something she's craved for so long but never been given, and now someone is giving it to her willingly.
He wraps her in another hug. "I'm sorry," he whispers softly into her ear. "You don't deserve this. Please let me take care of you." It's a plea, he knows. A desperate one. She doesn't deserve this. She deserves better than this. She deserves happiness. And he wants more than anything to give that to her.

How I’d approach the Vision spin-off that’s in development (Vision Quest):
STORY
The story starts with Vision exploring his connection to Ultron. This leads to him meeting MCU Victor Mancha, who Vision learns is the “son” of Ultron. In reality, Victor was created by a robotics engineer named Marianella Mancha, who combined pieces of Ultron she stole from SWORD with her own DNA. It’s pretty much the same concept as the Terminator in that Victor’s human parts are real, he just happens to be half-robot. Marianella also rebuilt Ultron into another human/robot hybrid and claims that this new Ultron is nothing like the original.
So, “Vision Quest” is a road trip drama centered on Vision traveling with Marianella, Victor, and Ultron-2. They’re on the run from SWORD, who are aware that Marianella stole Ultron from them.
Although Ultron is in the series, the main villain is Andrew Forson, a SWORD scientist who was planning on reviving Ultron for sinister reasons. Before he could do so, Marianella stole Ultron.
FINALE: Vision manages to get Marianella, Victor, and Ultron-2 out of the country by staying behind in order to hold off SWORD. After making sure the Manchas are out of harm’s way, Vision gives himself up and is arrested. However, while being transferred to prison, the SWORD convoy is suddenly destroyed. Vision flies away, unsure of what just happened.
Post-credits scene: It’s revealed that Wanda Maximoff was the one who destroyed the SWORD convoy in order to free Vision. However, instead of reuniting with Vision, she retreated to an unknown location. It’s revealed later on that, because Wanda no longer has the corrupting influence of the Darkhold, she is in hiding due to the immense guilt over her actions in “Multiverse of Madness”. It’s to the point that she can’t even bring herself to be with Vision.
CHARACTERS
The 4 main characters: Vision, Victor Mancha, Marianella Mancha, and Ultron-2. Ultron-2 is played by Ross Marquand (Aaron from “The Walking Dead”) since Ross voiced Ultron in “What If”. I don’t have a fancast for Victor and Marianella.
Main villain: Andrew Forson, a SWORD scientist who was planning on reviving Ultron. I pictured James Spader in the role, which is intentional since Spader played Ultron in “Avengers - Age of Ultron”.
Other characters:
* Wanda Maximoff (only in the post-credits scene, and maybe some flashback scenes)
* Dr. Helen Cho (reappears as Marianella’s friend in the robotics field and a member of SWORD’s engineering division)
* Leo Fitz (Iain only appears in the last two episodes. Fitz’s appearance is teased early on by Marianella mentioning that she was mentored by a “former agent of SHIELD who specialized in engineering”. The Vision Squad then visit Fitz’s home in the UK in order to escape SWORD)
* Jemma Simmons (see above, it wouldn’t make sense to have the Vision Squad visit Fitz’s home and not have Jemma there)
MISCELLANEOUS
* Vision’s character arc is about him reclaiming his original identity now that his memories have been unlocked.
* Marianella and Ultron-2’s relationship is meant to be a direct parallel to Wanda and Vision. This also makes Victor Mancha a parallel to Billy and Tommy, which I imagine the show would explore through Vision and Victor’s interactions.
* In case it isn’t obvious, only Vision appears as a “robot” among the main characters. Victor and Ultron-2 are human/robot hybrids and Marianella is just human. But to save time on makeup and special effects, I’d imagine that Paul Bettany would also play “human” Vision as well.
* Just to clarify, Victor Mancha was made from the parts of Ultron that aren’t from the “brain”/CPU, which is why Victor identifies as his own person. Ultron-2 was made from a backup of the original Ultron, just like Quaritch in “Avatar - The Way of Water”. That’s why Ultron-2 identifies as a version of Ultron.
* Ultron-2 and Vision are supposed to parallel each other. Both feel that they are separate entities from their original counterparts since Vision only has the original’s memories and Ultron-2 is a backup. They both reach different conclusions at the end of the series since Vision embraces his original identity while Ultron-2 rejects his due to his positive experiences with Marianella and Victor.

Show Me Yours | Matty Healy [2]
chapter two, act one: antichrist
Tumblr media
May 29th 2010
"You've what?"
"Changed the name of the band."
Comes the reply over the phone, "Why?"
Adam sighs on the other end, "Not sure, think Matty's going through an existential crisis again."
She snorts, "When is he not?"
She twirls the pen in her hand as she leans back, and lifts her feet to rest on her desk, "What's the name?"
"Uh, 19- sorry, the 1975."
She starts laughing, holding a hand to her mouth to hold it back, but the smile can be seen from miles away.
"He's very specific about the."
"Yeah?"
Adam hums, "Is it some kind of inside joke?" He asks, "Your tattoos? I don't get it, he won't tell anyone."
"Our little secret, Ads."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. I'm just glad I don't have to describe to girls why we're called Drive Like I Do, anymore."
"What girls?" She teases and she hears him laugh sarcastically on the other end.
It's silent for a few moments, and she picks at a string on her cardigan, "We've got another gig lined up."
"Really?"
"Yeah, a few, you gonna come up soon?"
She sighs, "I don't know, Ads, maybe."
"Matty uh, he bought your book yesterday. Was pissed I got a free one and he didn't."
She scoffs, "Didn't want him stealing my stuff again."
Adam laughs too, "It's great, Tommie, really. You're an amazing writer, you should do something with that."
"Maybe."
"No, you should." He says firmly.
She glances to the side, the little book sitting there staring at her, 75 pages of her own work. Her writing, her words, her poetry.
"Has he, uh, has he read it?"
"About a hundred times."
"Really?"
Adam hums, "We all have. It's good, Tommie." He hesitates a second, then adds, "Song worthy, band worthy."
"I'm not-"
"Yeah, I know. Thought I'd try again."
She wants to get off topic now, and talk about something other than her work. The thought of Matty reading it, understanding it, makes a red blush rise up her neck and across her cheeks.
"Did you hear what Nan and Granch are doing?"
"No." She can imagine his furrowed brows and confused tilted head, one that makes him look so much like their grandfather.
"Moving to France, or Spain, they haven't decided."
Adam laughs, "A place in the sun?"
"All the time, I can't come downstairs and see it on tele anymore, I'm going crazy, If it's not that it's an antique roadshow making him think he can become some sort of pawnbroker."
Adam chuckles again, "I think he's bored."
"I know, being retired doesn't suit him, he's trying to convince Nan to retire but she's still got four years before she's old enough."
"Doubt she will either, she loves her little break from him once a day."
"How is it over there?" He asks then, "At the McDuff household?"
"Great, actually, great."
"Tommie?"
She hums, moving her position so her feet are back on the floor, going back to staring at her notes for her English class, "How's things at the Fern household?"
"Well, dad's pissed he lost the custody battle. But, he did turn up to court drunk four times, so... that's his own fault."
"He seen you?"
"He asked me to go to dinner with him three weeks ago, still waiting for him to pick me up."
"What time was he supposed to be there?" Adam asks.
"Three weeks ago." She repeats slowly.
She hears him sighs, can imagine the pity falling off of him, "Tommie-"
She cuts him off quickly, not wanting the pity, "Nan's calling me, think dinner is ready, I'll call you monday when I get more credit."
"Okay, bye, Tommie."
"Bye, Ad."
Adam turns away as he hangs up, opening up the door again to step back inside Matty's place. Despite the early hour, seven thirty, both Ross and George are passed out on a sofa each. Matty's curled up on the beanbag he'd brought down from his bedroom, book in hand, glasses on, leaving the armchair open to Adam.
"She okay?"
"Yeah, revising for exams."
Matty nods, not tearing his eyes away from the page, "What do you think she means by 'watch my inane tears'?"
Adam looks up, "What?"
"In her one poem, she's written, 'the consequential ignorance, as you watch my inane tears', what do you think she means by that?"
"You know, if there was a poem in there about you, she'd have told me."
Matty closes the book, sending him something between a glare and an embarrassed look, "That's not what I'm trying to find out. I-"
He sighs looking away, "Your cousin is a very private person. She only reveals things she wants to, and I'm very nosy." The other boy just raises a brow slowly, "I'm trying to understand how her mind works, she's- so, I don't know, her mind is just- amazing."
"But," Matty asks, "What do you think she means?"
"Which poem is it?"
"The art of eye contact."
Adam remembers their conversation where she talked about it, "It's about her father, ignoring her and moving on to the next child. So, I guess she means like- I don't know." Adam shakes his head then looks at Matty, "But I have a feeling you think you do?"
"Well, I had to use a dictionary, no idea what inane means, or how to pronounce it. But according to the dictionary, it means, 'lacking sense'." Matty sighs, "I think it's her saying that her tears are worthless because they make no sense, she's been holding them back for so long at this point she's crying over things she doesn't need to cry over."
He looks up at Adam, "Is she okay? When you talked to her?"
"She's fine, Matty."
"Really?"
"Yup."
He nods, then he looks down at the page again watching his scruffy handwriting in blue ink beside the printed words as he reads the poem over and over until it's engraved in his head.
The Art of Eye Contact, by Tommie McDuff
Look at me, In your condescending way, Judge how I am free, And then watch my words decay. They fall upon deaf ears, The consequential ignorance, As you watch my inane tears, And ignore our indifference. We are not the same, One man, One full of shame, No more than. A plain chaste, Woman of a child, Destroyed in her haste, But even then she smiled. Look at me, Again, meet my eyes, The baleful banshee, It's time you realise. Again, look at me, And allow me to distract, After all this is just the Art of eye contact.

June 3rd 2010
Sixteen.
She thought maybe it would feel different but as she rolls over, noticing the yellow post-it note that's been placed on her pillow she sighs.
Happy Birthday, sweetheart. Working late tonight, see you then x
As she scrumples the paper up and tosses it into the plastic bin beneath her desk she lays back down in bed.
She thought being sixteen would be different, thought being sixteen would make her mother try and stay around for a birthday.
She sighs then checks the time, eight-thirty. She doesn't have an exam today, next one is on the eight, history and maths. She hates maths.
Hearing her grandfather tottering around downstairs forces her up, she smiles when her foot hits something and recognises her nans terrible wrapping skills lying at the bottom of her bed.
When she unwraps it she smiles at the soft fabric. A little knitted green cardigan lays inside and she lifts it up.
Her nan's been really into knitting lately, reading books on it until she perfects the little thing.
Tommie had asked for a new cardigan, the one she'd bought got caught on a door at school and ripped, she'd been heartbroken. It was her nannie's, the only thing she'd had of her after she died.
She pulls on some grey sweats, an old Stereophonics t-shirt then her new green cardigan over the top and heads downstairs quickly.
"Morning."
The dog, Taffie, is the first to greet her, the little Jack Russell that's still like a puppy despite her age of fourteen.
She leans down to pat the dog's side, smiling as she turns to lick at her hand.
"Good morning."
She stands quickly turning to the settee, "Hey."
"Cute slippers."
She rolls her eyes, looking down at the little cow slippers on her feet, "What are you doing here?"
Matty grins, looking up as her nan walks in with a cup of tea in her hands, "There you go, Matty."
"Thanks, Mag."
She settles beside him and then notices her granddaughter, "Tommie, happy birthday."
She gets back up to kiss her on the cheek and she smiles, "Thank you, and thanks for my present."
"Granch has got some pancakes on."
She goes back out into the kitchen with a promise of a cup of tea for her and then Tommie goes back to looking at Matty.
"Happy birthday, Tommie."
She smiles sitting beside him, "Thank you. But seriously, what are you doing here?"
"Fulfilling my life goal."
She rolls her eyes a little and shakes her head, "Matty..."
"What?" He shrugs a little avoiding her burning gaze.
She plays with the sleeves of her new cardigan, "It's four hours here from Manchester, and it's only nine."
"Actually, it's three hours and fifteen minutes, and I've been here since eight."
"Matty."
He shrugs, "I couldn't sleep, then I thought to myself, 'Wow my amazingly talented and funny best friend has her birthday today, I should go see her'."
"Thank you," She says again, "But you didn't have to."
"But, I wanted to-"
"Breakfast for the birthday girl."
She smiles at her grandfather as he walks in, he places a kiss on her forehead, "Happy birthday, my little flower."
"Thanks, Granch."
As he hands her the plate he checks his watch, "Oh shit, I've got to go. Late to go to the station."
He kisses her head once more, "Happy birthday."
"See you tonight."
"Tomorrow," He says as he leaves, "I've got to pick up a night shift."
Her nan shakes her head, "He's supposed to be retired. Always running off to 'look after' the engines."
Her nan sticks around until lunchtime, pestering both her and Matty to make sure they eat something before she leaves for her shift at work.
"What do you usually do on your birthday?"
"Sit around, watch tele, eat, cry, eat, watch more tele, eat."
He groans loudly, "Right, get up, put some actual trousers on, and some suitable footwear, we're going out."
"Out? Where, you've been here twice before. And got lost trying to find ASDA."
"I've been researching."
"You asked, Adam?"
He blinks at her slowly, "Get dressed."
⋆。 ゚☁︎。 ⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。 ⋆
"Gonna tell me where we're going?"
He sighs, fingers drumming the wheel, "I have to, I have no idea where I'm going." She chuckles, "I was going to take you to that ice cream place, in Brecon."
She smiles to herself, "Third exit on this roundabout."
She turns back to look at him then with a smile, "You're taking me for ice cream."
He nods, looking over at her with his own little smile, "Gonna make it the best birthday ever."
"No need," She says, leaning forward to mess around with the radio, "Already is."
"We haven't done anything yet."
She shrugs, "You're here, I've left the house and we're on our way to get ice cream," She turns back to look at him as Katy Perry fills the car, "It's already the best birthday I've ever had."
His smile only gets bigger as he keeps driving forward, taking in the beacons and the sunlight peeking through the trees as they go.
⋆。 ゚☁︎。 ⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。 ⋆
"Where are we going?"
She laughs and keeps running, dragging him behind her through the field until finally, they stop, she turns walking backward then falls flat on her back.
He chuckles, walking closer, "What are you doing?"
"I used to do this as a kid with Granch, star gaze. He's a big constellation freak. Come here."
He sits beside her then slowly leans back into the grass, "Bet you've never seen stars like this, Healy, huh?"
He tilts his head, "They're so much brighter."
"That's 'cause the street lights in the city put all the stars to death."
"Wow." He chuckles and she turns to look at him, "How poetic of you."
"Shut up, it's true."
He sighs looking up, "Okay, what are the constellations?"
She snorts, "I don't know, never really paid much attention."
He tilts his head, "That one looks like a blunt."
She snorts, "You're such a junkie."
"A junkie wanna-be, baby."
She scoffs, "A sycophantic junkie."
He raises a brow, tilting his head down to look at her, "Really? Sycophantic? Thought I'd at least be like prophetic level."
"Since when could you see the future?"
He turns fully onto his side, "I can predict the future."
"Go on then, read me, Healy."
He closes his eyes, hovering his hand over her face and she giggles, he peeks one eye open to look down at her, "Shh, I need to concentrate."
She purses her lips, looking up at him as he closes his eyes again, his curly dark hair falling across his forehead causing him to try and blow it up out of the way.
"I see... a band-" She pushes his hand out the way but he fights back to keep it there, "And- an album. Loads of money, big houses, parties, celebrities, red carpets-"
"Wow, like living an actual nightmare."
He opens his eyes now, "You wouldn't want that?"
She shakes her head, "Not for me. I'd rather have enough money to get by and live in a little house with a dog or two alone, for the rest of my life."
"That's a sad life." She shrugs her shoulders, closes her eyes, and lays down again.
Matty sighs, shifting a little. He's the opposite of her, never one for silence whereas she thrives in it.
"What would your superpower be?"
"Um..." She sighs, brows furrowed and eyes still closed.
"Reading minds."
"Boring."
She elbows him in the rib and he dramatically cries out, rubbing the area, "Why is that boring?"
"It's such a basic answer."
"You don't even know why."
"Okay," He nods, turning to her, raising his one eyebrow in a challenging way, "Why?"
She flicks his forehead, "So I could see what's going on in there." He catches her wrist moving her hand away.
He shakes his head laughing and she laughs too, moving up onto her elbows, "What? I'd love to see inside your mind."
"Why? It's a scary place."
"Oh, I don't doubt it. But so I could see how you come up with your songs,. Like Lost Boys, ooh, and sex, where'd that one come from? I know for a fact little Matthew Healy never asked anyone to meet them in the back of his van."
"I did, actually."
"Lies." She calls him out immediately, then giggles to herself, "You sound like a paedo in that song."
"Gee, thanks."
"You're welcome."
⋆。 ゚☁︎。 ⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。 ⋆
Matty stops the car, pulling up the handbrake then looking over at her with a huge smile. "Home."
"Thank you." She says sincerely as she shrugs off the seatbelt.
"Happy Birthday, Tommie."
"Uh, you wanna stay? I can set up the spare room, it's in the attic and a little creepy but I'm not staying in there, so it'll have to do."
He chuckles, watching her pick at a string on her jeans, "I'm okay, I've got to get back anyway."
"This late?" She asks, she glances at the little watch on her wrist, brows furrowed and he chuckles at her confusion.
"Two twenty."
"At twenty past two in the morning? You've been here since early this morning, Matty, surely that's not healthy."
"I'll be fine."
"Healy."
He grabs her hands that pick at her thumb and squeezes it, "I've gone longer and further with no sleep, at least I've had a couple of hours."
She sighs, knowing he's too stubborn and she won't win. Nodding her head she opens her door and smiles as she leans down but he jumps up, unbuckling his seatbelt, "Wait, wait..."
He runs around to the back of the car, opening up the boot and calling her over. He takes a big case out and hands it to her but she hesitates, "Matt..."
"Happy Birthday."
"I-"
"Just open it, please."
She unzips the bag slowly gripping the guitar by the neck and then looks up to him. That adorable pout and head tilts of hers staring up at him.
"Matt."
"It's the one Alex Turner plays."
"I know." She smiles and nods quickly, looking down at the Fender Stratocaster in her hands. It's a dark green colour, her favourite.
She rubs her fingers over the colouring, plucking a few strings, briefly playing what he recognizes as a tune of crying lightning.
"I can't-"
"You can, it's a birthday present, can't give them back."
"It's too expensive."
"It's not just from me, it's from all of us."
Her shoulders drop quickly, "Is this some kind of ploy to get me in the band?"
"No, I think it was Adam's idea to get you to stop stealing his when you're over."
She looks down at the guitar again, she turns and sits on the edge of the boot, resting it on her thigh, "Play me something." He requests, hands in his pockets as he leans against the side of his car.
"What?"
"Anything."
She thinks for a moment, hands moving as she plays around, plucking a few strings here and there.
She finds herself doing a favourite of hers, C'est la vie by Stereophincs, she hums the lyrics a little as she goes on.
"See? Natural." He says.
After putting it back in the case, swinging it over her shoulder and looking up at him she smiles once more up at him.
A big toothy smile that has the corner of her eyes crinkling and cheeks tinting red in the cold air of the night.
"Thank you, Matty."
He nods hands still in his pockets as he turns away from his now closed boot, "Happy birthday, Tommie. Did I do it?" She raises a brow, asking him to explain, "Prove birthdays can be good."
She shrugs, "Not really." His whole demeanour changes, shoulders sagging and his smile falls. "Everyday with you is like this. Fun, adventurous, happy..."
His head lifts again, and he lifts a hand quickly to wipe away the curly dark hair that has fallen across his forehead.
She steps closer, lifting up on her tiptoes to kiss his cheek, "Thank you."
He nods, watching her step back again before turning to go into her house. As he gets in he doesn't see her turn back to watch him drive away. Or hear her mutter warnings to herself about having a crush on her cousin's best friend.
Who not only lives three hours away but is a good few years older too.
"Stop it, Tommie," She says, quietly closing the door, "He's your friend."
~thanks for reading! x

BLUE VELVET (1986) “Perhaps no greater illustration of what we Gazelles mean when we say ‘Light and Shadow”: the saintly golden good-girl played by Laura Dern or the gateway-to-the-darkness of Isabella. KyMac goes all in on both, the robins from heaven and the bugs they eat. This movie is somewhat Lynch-ian, no? I agree with psycho Hopper on only one thing: Fuck Heineken” -Sonny Gazelle
“Weirdness gateway drug that only gets better with age. Watched it far too early but instinctually understood the ‘dark Hardy Boys’ vibes and recognized that Dave Lynch and I were bros for life. I think this was the first time I ever saw Denny Hop act and I was immediately terrified of him for life, which seems actually justified. Dude was difficult. Izzy Ross shadow is the obvious choice for me, but I wouldn’t argue with someone that prefers Dern’s light. This was perhaps the best outcome of Dave agreeing to direct DUNE, as it ensured him funding for whatever he wanted afterwards. Now just imagine he had agreed to direct RETURN OF THE JEDI, which he was offered. EWOKS, dude.” -Tommy Gazelle
