Or in simpler words: If you are doomscrolling, or otherwise making yourself suffer in any way just because the world suffers, without actively alleviating the world's suffering, you are not helping anyone, you're only adding your own suffering. To demand this of others is, in my humble opinion, obscenely arrogant and misguided.

my bad tooth is gone! after he pulled it he was like "you made the right call having an extraction instead of a root canal, because it was so deep and right up on your gumline it couldn't have been a normal root canal, you would have needed complicated surgery that involved bringing the bone higher" and i was like. yeah. i could feel it was pretty bad. he also had to make sure the rot hadn't hit bone and that there wasn't a hole to my sinuses (there wasn't, looks like i'm in the clear). it had stopped hurting a while ago (p sure the nerve died) but it was very validating on account of That Shit Hurted
