I get the criticism of the Hunters of Artemis from a narrative perspective—it sucks that it essentially boots interesting female characters out of the story—but it always baffles me when people viciously hate Artemis for *checks notes* doing damage control.

Like. Thalia explicitly goes with Artemis to avoid the prophecy, and I definitely think that’s the reason Artemis tried so hard to get her to join—hell, you can view the hunters trying to recruit Annabeth as a way to get Thalia to join. And Bianca? You can’t convince me that Artemis didn’t guess there was something up there and react accordingly.

If Percy or Nico were even a little bit girl-adjacent you bet your ass she would be all over them to join. No one actually wants to risk the Great Prophecy happening, and Artemis is doing a hell of a lot more to stop it than anyone else.

ik i talk abt high control groups kinda often but i do encourage anyone involved in discourse in any capacity to watch folding ideas' "this is financial advice" video, because a lot of what he says about the gamestop apes being a self-organizing high control group imo also explains the more toxic discourse tendencies, and i feel like most discussion around high-control groups on here focuses on the tradtional kind that has one or a few distinct leaders which makes it harder to draw parallels between the signs. so i think its important to point out that these kinds of groups can still create that same energy as a unit even if there isn't one specific person calling the shots

I really keep forgetting how much that movie shaped us and our gender growing up. Disney may be a hell corporation, but I had an easier time conceptualizing our gender cause of that movie.

Imagine an 8 years old Yanfei with a strong sense of justice. She sees Hu Tao getting bullied. She gets pissed off and goes and defends her. Then, she finds out Hu Tao was being bullied because she was trans.

At this point, Yanfei (who is also trans, Madam Ping and Hu Tao's grandpa are very supportive) loses shit and starts fighting the bully and in the end she beats the shit out of them.

Madam Ping heard about that and gave her the penal code.

It helped her a lot on controlling pent-up rage and agressiveness. However, nowadays, she might enter her feral mode when shit is being unfair to her client. She also is gonna quit in the middle of trial if she finds out her client is the wrong one in the story.

she was such a foundational part of my early youtube experience, one of the very few people i'd point to as a potentially bigger/more well known youtuber than dnp (at least at a certain point in time? maybe???? baby me thought that) so like. the fact that thee biggest names in youtube to me all turned out queer is amazing.

i literally texted like so many people the news when she came out. like people i fully had not talked to about youtube in years.

also. i am infinitely delighted by the fact that my husband (also trans) was absolutely having a gender about charlie circa 2012/2013. (kind of a venn diagram with matt smith at the time). i love how us trans folks end up latching on to other trans folks ages and ages before any of us even know what that spark of recognition is.

charlie didn't seem pretentious to me but that is very likely because i Also absolutely come across as pretentious (it can be argued that i am a hipster).
