Heyyyyyy!!! Im hoping you could help me find a faceclaim for a story I'm working on. I'm looking for a drag queen who gives off "youngest sibling who is fun and goofy and makes everyone around them smile" vibes. Preferably poc, and in the late 20s to late 30s age range. I would also really appreciate some suggestions with body diversity!
If you could please help me out I'd be so so so grateful!
Heidi N Closet, also known as Heidi Ho, Heidi Hydrates, and Heidi Afrodite, is the stage name of Trevien Anthonie Cheek, a drag performer and one of the Season 12 contestants of RuPaul's Drag Race, who placed 6th. The world is going to miss this amazing drag queen who should have won the crown on RuPaul’s Drag Race. She was amazing, beautiful and so unique in her style on the show. I thought Heidi was going to be the next winning Queen ofRuPaul’s Drag Race, season 12. 👸🏽👑🌏
Pericles, Prince of Tyre is one of Shakespeare’s most heart rending and weirdest play. A story about a man on a journey. The play starts with Pericles discovers the truth about King Antiochus’s incestuous love for his own daughter and flees from Tyre. An exiled prince navigates a stormy sea of magician, criminal, brothel, pirate and plot against his life. We can explore incest, love, murder, disloyalty and passion in this giant theatrical performance…
Cheek by Jowl’s French language production places Pericles on a single, cobalt-blue hospital room to represent this storm-tossed oddity. This blue space can play as a boat, a brothel even a palace during the performance with the changing of the lighting and sound. At the beginning, Pericles is a patient lying in a comatose state, efficiently doctor and two nurses tend to him, while his anxious family waiting on chairs. And smooth music and soothing voices trickle from a radio as well. The set designer Nick Ormerod describes that the idea of a hospital room stems from the notion that Pericles is a man running from himself, specifically from a vague but violent fear, a paranoia. Hospital is also a special place including birth, death, sadness, reunion and healing. Therefore, the whole weird plot is more like a long fever dream or illusion for a comatose patient. It is obviously the director Declan Donnellan has made enough use of this blue space, and a lot of clever changes have been arranged within 1 hour 40 mins.
The blue space is fixed and naturally separated into two parts, a bed on the left side and a waiting area on the right. There is a central door leading to a corridor. It is the only entrance into the space and you can see the goddess would appear from it, and the body of Thaisa would be abandoned to the sea from it which is very interesting. There are 7 actors play more than 20 characters without any changing of costume, but naturally fall into two groups at the beginning: the patient — Pericles and his wife, daughter and daughter’s boyfriend, another includes a doctor and two nurses.
The play has 5 acts and everything happens within this hospital room and the actors instantly change character on the stage without any help from costume. Every change is going to depend on the lighting and sound. So the action never moves from the hospital room but the audience will participate in a knightly tournament or visit a brothel in Mytilene. That maybe confuse audiences and the plots of whole story are not explained very clearly, but is also the most special part of this play. We could seamlessly move from the real world of the family waiting with the soothing voices trickle from the radio, into all the other locations keeping characters on stage. That is also one of Cheek by Jowl’s principal that the audience must be made to work imaginatively.
