I’m Rebecca Sugar, animator, singer-songwriter, and I’m proud to be bisexual, nonbinary, and a member of Trevor’s Board of Directors!

The Trevor Project’s support of LGBTQ young people has always meant so much to me. I hope you’ll join me in supporting Trevor’s mission in two ways:

Tune into my free virtual concert, September 17! I’ll be playing music from “Steven Universe,” “Adventure Time,” and more, and I’ll be joined by some very special musical guests!!! — tune in on Instagram and TikTok on Sunday, September 17 @ 5-7 PM PST/ 8-10 PM EST. The Trevor Project shares the first episode of Sharing Space, moderated by  Daniel Radcliffe. Sharing Space  provides a  platform for young trans and nonbinary voices.

“If you’re going to talk about trans kids, it might be useful to actually listen to trans kids," Radcliffe says.

“I was incredibly fortunate to meet six young people who agreed to come and share their stories with us. And also to have a conversation about allyship and the people in their lives who have shown up for them and made a positive impact on their journeys. I’m excited to share that conversation with you.”

It feels harsh to say, but I am not the person you should go to if you are struggling with thoughts of self harm or other dark thoughts. I am not a professional. I am a random 23 year old with problems of my own. There are actual resources out there to help you. You Are RAD is a charity that provides free therapy services. They can actually provide long term support.

This in an article about Zander Mahaffey. It says ANOTHER. How many trasgender people have to die for the world to realize? 700? 1000? I really hpe not, because LGBTQ+ people already have enough problems. Being killed? Yeah, why not? Oh, they're not shooting me, but they make me feel like sh*t. Suicide? Marvelous idea.

The Trevor project is important. If you're young and thinking of suicide, please, call the Trevor Project. I think you can only chat if you live on the United States, but I'm happy to help if you can't contact them.

hey so if you're trans and american you've probably heard of the trevor project, and if you haven't -- it's a resource for LGBTQ+ youth who are struggling to express their identity and feel accepted in a world where being gay or trans can feel terrifying.

personally, i've called their crisis line several times during my transition, and every time i was met with a peer counselor who listened to me and talked me down and made me feel at least a little better about the world.

they also have been union busting. the workers there recently organized in a movement spearheaded by (and centered around treatment of) BIPOC employees and they have been met with nothing but crackdowns. Union leadership was laid off, workers were illegally prohibited from discussing concerns, and corporate leadership refuses to bargain in good faith with union reps.

so, the friends of trevor united (the trevor project union) filed an Unfair Labor Practice charge through their parent org (the communication workers of america) with the national labor relations board.

They have also created a petition demanding that management bargain in good faith with them. i encourage you, tumblr user, to sign the petition. you don't have to be gay, trans, or even american.

i usually try to avoid longer discourse posts like this, but the trevor project has been such an invaluable resource for me, personally, that i felt like i had to post something.

A Suicide Helpline for queer youth. They have calling, texting, and messaging, and you can easily close the page without leaving a trace.

They have saved me a few times. They're already pretty well known, but it's good to remind people. You aren't alone, and people care about you.

One topic at a time has helped raise over $100,000 to support this project. You can donate through his YouTube, and other places as well. I believe that Hot Topic (yes, the store) donates there as well, specifically with their partnership pride merch.

Very fucked up Trevor Project is recommending trans teens sign up for groups that’re allowed to call the cops on you if you show signs of being "dangerously" suicidal. Especially since they don't even tell you about it when they recommend it and will, in fact, actively try to avoid telling you if you ask directly.

Before we start not reading, not researching, & jumping to conclusions via reblogs & things with the speed per capital society we live in, where is it sourced specifically (that isn't a tumblr post or a tiktok without citations) that the Trevor Project is in support of KOSA?

We have sources for GLAAD, GLSEN, and PFLAG (August 24, 2023), but I wanna know where the rest of this info comes from. Pretty convenient to say that an organization known for helping trans youth is in support of a shitty bill amidst all the ongoing chaos, especially when we live in an age of misinformation.

If anyone could link it to me, I'd greatly appreciate it.
