i'm trying to get back into working with loki so what i did is i asked him for a sign every day this past week (sunday-saturday) to really know if he wanted to work with me.
sunday and monday i saw spiders just around. (one while i was trying to piss and the other two while i was in the shower). i do see spiders every once and a while in my house in general, but three over two days is a few more than i'm used to lmao.
tuesday i saw a stained glass spider on my tiktok fyp, i've never searched or even seen glassware or stained glass stuff on my fyp before and i haven't since, so i took that as loki's tuesday sign.
wednesday and thursday there were just spiders around again. one in the shower and one in my bedroom, simply watching me while i was sleeping.
FRIDAY. OH MY GODS FRIDAY. i had a friend over and we decorated christmas cookies and all that fun stuff. she had to use the bathroom, BUT WHEN SHE CAME OUT SHE WAS PANICKING A BIT. she essentially had a staredown with a massive spider on the bathroom ceiling. i took that as another sign, first of all because of the spider and second of all because of the little trick on my friend.
SATURDAY WAS THE REAL KICKER THOUGH. i was minding my own business, watching tiktok and shit, AND MY BROTHER COMES YELLING IN THE HOUSE "LOOK AT WHAT I FOUND OUTSIDE".
he brought a snake in the house. the snake was very friendly and curious.
needless to say, i took that as a sign as well.
thank you loki for the weeks worth of signs at my request, over the coming days i will try to work subtly to devote myself to you. any other lokeans who might happen to come across this, if you feel comfortable, please share your tips and tricks for working with the trickster god themself.
Veles, the Slavic god of Death, Water, and Livestock. Created by the Supreme god: Rod, Veles was seen as the chief god: Perun’s opposite and greatest rival. This is accentuated by the pair’s most popular myth, in which Veles in the form of a dragon steals a prized possession of Perun (typically his cattle, but sometimes either his wife or daughters). Because of this theft, Veles brings the cold seasons upon the world. But Perun chases Veles across the mortal realm, attempting to slay him with his thunderbolts, and when Perun eventually succeeds, the warm seasons return to the world. Veles’ abode: Nav, lies within the roots of the Slavic World tree. Veles guides recently departed souls through the watery realm, with Veles’ throne lying in the center atop a swamp.
Contrary to modern day consensus, Veles as a death god wasn’t believed to be evil. Even in his prominent myth of fighting Perun, he’s sometimes been displayed in a positive light, protecting Farmers and their cattle from Perun’s lightning. This adds to the belief that ancient Slavic spiritualism never had any overtly good or evil spirits, as universal good and evil weren’t a concept in Slavic mythology. It’s because of this that the speculative chernobog is so highly contested, as in a spiritual system where there is no universal good or evil, there could not be a god of said evil. Instead it’s posited that Chernobog was just a reconfigured Veles, much like the belief that Belobog was a reconfigured Perun. Their Dualism doesn’t end there as in the modern day it’s survived in the body of Santa Claus/St. Nick. Like the myth of St.Nick protecting livestock from St.Elias’ thunder, to the concept of Santa and Krampus. Veles’ role connects him with many different deities like the Norse Odin and Loki, to the Gaulish Cernunnos. He’s even sometimes likened to the Wiccan horned god.
