throwback to my genshin impact/tsubasa resevoir chronicles au thing, some more notes on it at the bottom

-paimokonas. yeah.

-aether and lumine are basically both like sakura, they store power + memory in their wings. in an attack on their home, aether's powers are sealed, while lumine loses her memories the same way sakura does

-originally was planning for kaeya as fai and childe as kurogane. thought that kurogane's backstory would be particularly fitting for childe, especially with the whole "losing family" thing. and both lumine and aether would see his backstory after touching the memory book at the same time in the memory book world

-in payment for being able to travel between worlds to recover lumine's memories, aether gives up the memory of the person who instigated the attack on them. he'll never be able to remember that

-however, lumine does eventually remember that, and this splits their party briefly (at abt a similar point in trc when sakura sacrifices herself to change fai's fate); lumine travels with kaeya a bit and aether with childe + paimokona. iirc i was also trying to parallel the twins' split in genshin with one going to khanriah's side and the other on the opposing side

-several of the worlds they travel to used to be one world (teyvat), but was torn apart by someone, resulting in the countries fragmenting into their own worlds and then one country (khaenriah) completely being lost. the twins have the power to fix this. also if yanfei yuuko, she's trying to gather evidence to . . sue. the person who did this. hence the "taking aether's memory of who did this" thing. -had a whole mess of ideas for kaeya's backstory, including diluc either being thought dead by kaeya or actually was dead, but also diluc is (stay with me here) in the sword (STAY WITH ME HERE) that aether takes back from the digital world (like the fire sword syaoran takes into reality). no idk how that'd be possible, i'm pretty sure i was trying to adapt the clones shenaniganery so that it's not aether and lumine being clones. man idk

-there may be a tiny bit more but this is beyond long enough. yippeee

The question “Where does Syaoran’s DNA” come from is going to send me to my grave.

I’m really good at solving paradoxes, but I can’t solve this one. I cannot for the life of me think of a single thing that would prevent a time traveler from getting cloned in the past and from that clone getting married and giving birth to the time traveler. It’s incredibly unlikely, but how do you stop it?

If you have any insight into why this would or would not work or where the heck the DNA in such a situation would work, please tell me asap, thanks.

Okay sooooo you know about the alternative universe? It is a widely used resource in the fiction, those stories where there is an alternative universe that is identical but like the diferent at the one we see/know

Aaaaand I was thinking, what about writing something like that?? I mean, there are diferent ways to write about it, the ones where the version of you had a diferent story/context (the one we normally see on the fanfics that are diferent au, also you can see it in Tsubasa Resevoir Chronicle), or also had develop in a diferent way because a situation or choise (like, the ones we can see in Spiderman into the spiderverse or everything everywhere at all times) or on those stories where the alternative universe is the opposite of the one we know (like in a link between worlds, this actually is more common in cartoons, I remember a episode of pokemon were Ash take place or his version from another universe)

Kinda related to that sharing a name kin in law. Its funny seeing fandoms share acronyms. Reading mk and not being sure at first if its mortal kombat or monkey kid. trc as the raven cycle or tsubasa resevoir chronicle. Tf as team fortress or transformers. We can usually tell by context, but its funny trying to figure out what the hell sort of canon someone must have had before you realize they are they are talking about a different source.
