God is putting me through trials LMAO

#currently in Boston helping my wife move in to get apartment #drove for 6.5 hours to get here 😭 helped her move stuff out of the truck and clean up the apartment washed the dishes drove us to target #the target in question? NO MOPS... we came back with half the groceries we were looking for- on the way back? got lost twice looking for #the parking lot and then looking for the entrance to the apt building 😭 whole time I'm late for DnD which started at 7 #i was drove her back and got on the call at like 7:38 or smth-- played DnD on my PHONE in my CAR in a GARAGE that smelled like PISS #because her parents were also there at the studio apartment she was moving to 😭 then the next day we went to get groceries at GreatWall #bought train tickets coolcool first time swiping in? ERROR. try again. then it works on the other gate but I swiped twice??? how can I #swip a second time before the gate closes 😭 god HOW #BUT WAIT when we went to target the day before I couldnt leave the garage because I came in through the delivery gate and couldnt get out #the exit because I didnt have a TICKET.... so I had to call assistance and they buzzed me out after paying the full price 😭-- back to GW #GW is CLOSED? under renovation which we didn't realize until we walked the block twice 😭 no worries off to HMart #HMart is open! Godbless. We get 4 full bags of groceries that fit in dear's totebags and lug them back to the train and to the apartment-- #girl... the HEAVIEST bags you've seen including rice 😭 I'm carrying 3 bags like a refugee through these streets including like a 10-15 min #walk from the train to the apartment- after missing the apartment entrance AGAIN and walking an extra block 😭 but its okay we get back and #take a break for a bit before going back out for lunch-- Udon was great! found a REAL target and then visited the Boston Public Library gr8 #We head back and take a break for a bit- Wifi is now on!! also win. Then we head out for dinner and I need to get my car jumped because ha #while I was playing DnD in the car with the AC in (but the engine off because I was in an underground garage) I used up my battery LMAO BUT #We called for assistance and got it jumped thank you random attendant time to head out but OOPS I LOST MY TICKET LMAO OK #have to ask for help again and oh no its the same attendant I'm so sorry I'll pay full price 😭 oh its extra because I stayed overnight? #no prob boss just let me pay oh god stop explaining it to me just let me pay and be on my WAY... the price? $109 LMAOOOOO #BUT we head to dinner and happy days! theres a parking lot nearby with the gate up! Could I risk parking there for free? I did. And we had #great Thai food :) The waitress even asked if we wanted more water- yes please! julie's water gets refilled and then waitress leaves HUHHH #no water for me then LMAO AND? WE FIND TWO HAIRS IN OUR FOOD??? No worries king 😭 the one entree is free thank you #God willing my car is still in the lot (not towed!) and the gate is still up so we drive back to the apartment and park- get it- in the #same lot as before 😇 I CANNOT PARK ANYWHERE ELSE!!! THIS IS THE GARAGE NEXT TO THE APARTMENT AND BOSTON PARKING SUUUUCKS #we get back to the lobby and oh? is that a coffee machine? lemme check it out.... OH? Hot chocolate? I deserve a hot chocolate lemme get 1 #HAHAHAHAHHAA JUST KIDDING! THERE ARE NO CUPS. BITCH. TEAM PHOENIX GETS OFFICIAL ENGLISH TRANSLATION STARTING IN NOVEMBER 2023

On April 26, 2023, Canadian-based art studio and publisher Udon Entertainment announced that the Team Phoenix manga will receive an official English translation.

Volumes 1 through 3 are confirmed for a North American release, with Volume 1 releasing in November 2023, Volume 2 releasing in January 2024, and Volume 3 releasing in March 2024.

As stated in Udon Entertainment’s press release:

Osamu Tezuka's greatest characters unite! Today UDON Entertainment is proud to announce that they have entered into a partnership with Tezuka Productions and Akita Shoten to publish the English Edition of Team Phoenix, the hit manga series! Created by Kenny Ruiz and based on the characters of Osamu Tezuka, this galaxy-spanning epic sees a heroic team-up to save all mankind!

Familiar characters like Black Jack, Astro Boy, and and Princess Knight get very unique twists in this original manga project which sees manga creator Kenny Ruiz working in Japan with his team to create an original Tezuka-inspired story, with the full support of Tezuka Productions! Fans of manga, comics, bande dessinée, and just plain great stories are all sure to love this shonen action extravaganza!

"Being part of Team Phoenix is one of the biggest honors and responsibilities of my life," said series creator Kenny Ruiz on the news of UDON's English-language edition. "The characters created by the greatest of all masters, Osamu Tezuka, have their own story that we all love, but now they're in a different reality, in conflict or united, and finding out what has happened to them will be an amazing journey! Team Phoenix Volume 1 will release in November 2023 as a 200 page black and white manga for U.S.$13.99. Further volumes will be released every two months, and volumes 1-3 are now available for pre-order at select retailers, and more pre-order opportunities will be available in the coming months.

For my "Journey to Catch Sharks"-series I visited the infamous Osaka Kaiyukan!! It is already the second appearance of this aquarium in my magazine😍And in the Member Contribution Corner I am introducing all the recommended foods you sent me which are effective against summer fatigue 😋♡ You submitted a lot of pictures of different meals, everything looked delicious! By the way, the other day we made a quiet announcement on the FC site, we will introduce new special content for Botanical Land members!! Things that went through my head while watching this episode:

--For as many times as Tanjiro thought "this person," I was watching for him to verbalize it. I was almost starting to think Tamayo had read his mind for how long it took her to step in while Tanjiro got himself into a serious pickle, but it was really was almost the instant he verbalized "person" that she took action. It was as though she was waiting for it.

--Which is fair, seeing as for all she could tell he was just another Corp member trying to get a kill (understandable, but still).

--She had to have felt something stir in her gut when Tanjiro screamed bloody murder at Muzan, though. In this way, Tanjiro is slightly more of an equal to her than Yushiro, at least in terms of how their lives were so personally wrecked by that man. On my first watching I had found it overly convenient how quickly Tanjiro gained an ally in her, but knowing what I do now about her past, as well as her trust in Yoriichi, it makes total sense that she'd take a chance on Tanjiro--especially if she needs someone to go out and collect demon blood samples in the first place.

--Pretty Blood Technique is pretty.

--Muzan comes off as a one-note villainy villain, but you know what? That's a note he plays really loud. We already got the core of Muzan in that "you look sickly" reaction. That's really all there is to this man. BUT HE'S HAD OVER A THOUSAND YEARS TO GET REALLY, REALLY GOOD AT PLAYING THIS NOTE.

--And Muzan showing how his blatant disregard for others' lives in showier and showier ways? Forget dramatic plot device, that really is just Muzan's style to not give a fuck.

--Tanjiro having to make right by the udon vendor, because of course he does.

--Seeing as I usually reference the manga, I had totally forgotten how boyish Yushiro sounds. I think this is part of what gave me the initial impression that his feelings for Tamayo are just puppy love. Yushiro does have very serious depth to his feelings to be willing to carry out her will even if it means accepting her impending death, but unfortunately for him, I have never read Tamayo as having romantic feelings for him, or seeing him as anything more than a child. That's why I was pretty shook when I saw the inside cover of volume 21, in which the pose of photo studio like pose of changes to something more tender and intimate with Yushiro gently kissing her head. First, would Yushiro ever be so brazen!? If she were likely to accept it, he would, but he knows it'll never happen because she can't forget her former family life. And that's really sad and makes me hurt for Yushiro, this was doomed to be one-sided all along and I don't know how I feel about a romance between her future incarnation and his demon self. I hope he finds more to do to enjoy the life she granted him than just obsessing over her memory.

--Also, even though in my memory Yushiro feels more adult than Tanjiro, going back to this I see them both as immature children when they are put in a room together.

--Okay, the "I didn't hit him, Tamayo-sama. I threw him" line is funny and all, but it feels so, so, so much funnier to me in Japanese for how close the words for "hit" (naguru) and "throw" (nageru) sound to each other: "Nageta no desu, Tamayo-sama. Naguttemasen."

--This was the episode which floored me with Nezuko antics. How?? Can she dare??? Be this cute??????

--So Nezuko seems in her own world for most of this scene, right? Look at her face down in the corner after one of the times Yushiro beats up Tanjiro. SHE DID NOT LIKE THAT. ----I had to go back and watch this again. There's really no naturally way Nezuko would had been able to just notice and give that look based on how she was positioned in previous frames. She would have had to roll over and bend in tightly to give Yushiro that look from that angle. This wasn't in the manga, somebody at Ufotable had to have said, "hey, wouldn't it be funny if--" and then they had to find a way to squeeze it in.

--I initially thought I was going to sketch something dramatic like Yushiro protecting Tamayo at the end of the episode (and her accepting his protection for the close bond they do indeed share), but the emotional heart of this episode really is Tanjiro and Nezuko being invited these demons' home, and feeling completely at home there.

--That Tamayo smile got me blushing as mad as Tanjiro, she's so pretty. Please, let your voice wash over me, Sakamoto Maaya-sama.

--Aw, the Yahaba & Susamaru scene kind of left out that Yahaba is a neat freak... I do like the mild detail of how his eyeballs don't touch the ground, they do hover about it for the sake of plainly seeing. Also, his Blood Technique is among some of the most unique in this whole series. Even if there are other characters with tracking mechanisms in their attacks, Yahaba's really were multifaceted, like seeing arrows in footsteps. In some ways, his Blood Technique sort of steps outside the slow of time, showing both progressions which happened in the past and progressions which have not yet taken place.

--And then we've got their simple personalities, "let's be cruel, like the baddies we are, yyyyyyyyeah"

--I didn't draw it, but I love the composition in the final scene in how Tanjiro and Yushiro mirror each other by covering their respective most important lady (but let's be fair, Tanjiro, you need that coverage more than Nezuko does).

--TAISHO SECRET!! YUSHIRO'S DIARY!! Tanjiro is left with so many regrets. Here's a Taisho Secret for you!! The diary entry read was from my birthday!
