it’s not one i see super often and it’s not really a scenario so much as it is a setting but one of the hottest concepts ever to me is like a hedonism/weight gain propaganda state or like some other environment designed to be coercive in that way. sci-fi cyberpunk city with massive holo-billboards that exclusively advertise buy one get 5 deals on extra greasy future fast food and AR technology that gives you HUD elements permanently in your vision that encourage you to exceed your caloric intake from yesterday. exclusive all-expenses paid sweepstakes trip to an extravagant tropical resort; an all you can eat buffet that serves chicken legs the size of your head, room service taken to the extreme, elevators and moving walkways everywhere and if you’re going far (though not off the resort of course) cushy rides in suspiciously wide limos with free snacks, beach access with ice cream stands every 20 feet, and of course a complementary on-site tailor, you know just in case you constantly need to refit your swimsuit for whatever reason. you haven’t seen a single occupant less than half as wide as they are tall and everyone asked says they’ve been there at least a year. i want every place on earth to be fatfur hotel california except nobody bothers to get out the steely knives and try to kill the beast, because it's just too pleasant to stuff yourself all day, and also they don't make knives here because basically everyone is swallowing things whole or extremely proficient at ripping things apart with their teeth.

Once again, the United States has been left alone in its efforts to stifle Cuba. The General Assembly of the United Nations once again pronounced itself overwhelmingly against the economic blockade that Washington insists on maintaining against the island.

The UN member countries voted this Thursday on the Cuban resolution “Necessity of putting an end to the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against Cuba”. On this occasion, the document had 185 votes in favor, two against (the United States and its unconditional ally Israel), and two abstentions (Jair Bolsonaro’s Brazil and Ukraine).

Today, the world is with Cuba, and it is no surprise. That US policy it’s an outdated and ineffective measure that hasn’t achieved and will not achieve its objective and has ended up discrediting and isolating the United States itself.

UN agency: immediate ceasefire in Gaza is “a matter of life and death”

Gaza’s Ministry of Health reported that more than 8,300 people were killed with tens of thousands being wounded.

The head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, Philippe Lazzarini, told an emergency UN meeting that “an immediate humanitarian ceasefire has become a matter of life and death for millions”. He also accused Israel of “collective punishment” of the Palestinians.

Lazzarini warned that the largest UN agency in the Gaza Strip could shut down if the disruption of civil order and the looting of the agency’s warehouses by Palestinians in search of food and other aid continued.

UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell stated that the death toll included more than 3,400 children killed and more than 6,300 injured.
