"Art, fundamentally is a calling to a higher state of existence a reminder that our senses can transcend lust, it serves to console us whenever we find ourselves in spiritual deserts, it takes us by the hand and shows us the outskirts of our consciousness where our need for the beautiful is free of the carnal, it proves that the human psyche is not just capable of sowing atrocities but to also weave beauty out of tragedy."

There is no way to know what will happen in the future. On the other hand, the majority of policies are purposeful attempts to forecast the future, as well as to change and mold it in a way that was intended. In this chapter, we will discuss the concepts behind three essential components that are required to get ready for an unknowable future. To begin, it explains what factors contribute to the unpredictability of the future. Contrary to popular belief, the unpredictability of the future is not caused by the passage of time itself, but rather by the dynamics that have the potential to take place during that period of time. Because of this, it makes a significant difference whether a system is complex or complicated; complex systems are significantly more fluid and unpredictable, whereas complicated systems are significantly more stable and predictable. Second, there are a variety of methods that can be used to "study" the dynamics. Foresight and forecasting are two distinct ways of looking into the future, and each has their own set of advantages and disadvantages. Third, there are a variety of organizational strategies that can be utilized in order to get ready for an uncertain future. Robustness, resilience, and adaptability are three possible principles that can be utilized when organizing and getting ready for uncertainty. Scholars and policymakers should systematically take into account these three essential steps in order to prepare for an uncertain future or to study the uncertain future. These steps are as follows: how is the future unknown, how do we study the future, and what concept of anticipation do we apply here?
