Is it ok to ask where things between you and Eight started to, uh, go south? I know you've gotta leave soon, but..
- Koshek
Their eyes light up at Koshek's name, and they shift to lean forward a bit, resting their head in their hands.
Willow, smiling: Well, hello there, darling. Things between Green and myself, you ask.. there was no defining moment there, I believe. The tension was always there, in one way or another.

For the questions, you talked about circular narrative / dead from the start characters before I think – is that related to the muses?
OOC answer:
It is, yes! I love the 'doomed/dead from the beginning' trope just as much as the 'growing into love' trope, which sure says a lot! /lh
The theme mainly presents within three characters from 565; James Peterson, Eight, and Willow.
James is pretty obvious on this, considering he is long dead already; Eight mentioned it when describing his death some time ago, but James was doomed the moment his anomaly started to manifest. He never had a chance to make it from that point on, not with his mother working for the Foundation, who obviously became increasingly curious about him over time. He was set to die before he was even born, in a way - Agnes joining the Foundation, becoming an Administrator and her subsequent use of 006 would lead to James's eventual anomaly, recruitment, and death. (Funfact: this 'event' is also why Overseers are strictly forbidden from having biological children nowadays)
Eight is my favorite of the muses filling this trope, for there simply is no good end to his story in this setting. The night he ran away from home as a teen was when his death certificate was filed, so to say. Even without the Foundation, he would have joined the war effort and, subsequently, died in WWI. And with the Foundation? The way they took him in, saved him, set the base for his unquestioned loyalty to them, which will be his downfall in the end. He is a tool to the Foundation, someone who was raised to put the greater good, the mission, above anything else. His views on this will ironically eventually end up clashing with those of the other Overseers, who see his loyalty as fanaticism, leading to his termination step by step. (Can't say much more on this due to spoilers ajsnsms)
Willow is a much more personal case of the trope, meanwhile. Their personality and perviously mentioned idealism didn't mash well with the old Foundation and still butt heads with the modern one at times; them somewhat growing up within the anomalous world doesn't help this mindset either. Their ideals would work better with the Serpent's Hand - and that realization, made by the Council in approximately sixteen years, is Willow's downfall. They can't risk having a potential traitor in their middle, after all, even if Willow is nothing more than a dreamer. So, by one wrong move, by being recruited by the wrong organization, Willow, too, has been slowly dying for decades now.

been thinking about that historical-political-whateverthefuckitis chulwoo AU
like it’s cool Jinwoo literally bantered for his head and highkey kidnapped a political prisoner into his palace and also gave him a title and odd jobs (definitely not suited for his official work title) plus Jinchul now has too much free time on his hands and he simply doesn’t know what to do with it. He can’t sit idle for too long and he’s dreaded by this feeling of uselessness and passing time so he just tries to walk around palace and find what to do. Until he ends up in inner garden just sitting on stone bench and admiring the view and peace and quiet and it just makes it all worse, he’s not a man of riches and fancy, he’s a man of work and dedication.
And that’s how Jinwoo find him, lost in thoughts all alone, sitting under shadow of willow tree and completely not noticing Jinwoo approaching him. Turns out Jinchul wandered into Jinwoo’s private garden. Jinwoo actually laughed so hard it started to hurt because garden is in fact hidden and can’t be found unless you know correct path in maze that is palace itself and he laughed even harder when Jinchul told him he wandered here by pure accident because he was lost in thoughts too much.

under-the-willows, under an oak tree :3.
I was at the park and felt resplendent in the midday sum. It is blessing to feel the dance of the sun's warmth on my skin, though I wish it could be a pretty ladies hand.

Me? Falling in love with the Corinthian you created in your Dream series?..... more likely than you think AND I CANT STOP THINKING ABOUT THAT NIGHTMARE CARVING WOOD🥰🥰🥰😭😭😭💘💘💘
I seemingly have a strange penchant for making villainous/unlikable characters more likeable. First Santino and coa, now Corinthian and tibyim.
Corinthian is still Corinthian though. I never set out to make him better or improve him in any way (I like him awful : ) ) I simply thought it might be fun to give him a version of events that justify him going rogue. It’s only one take of many. It honestly wasn’t until the very end of season 1 that his character really hit for me. It all started with Jed and ended with “so I can taste what it’s like to be human” the rest was just writer brain itch. But I’m really glad you like my take on him 💕

Uh. I hope this message reaches the right person but this is for Nine. Willow specifically. I just wanted to reach out and say that while I appreciate your vote in the meeting back there, what the fuck was that?

Hello to you as well, dear, and you're welcome! Though, what was what, exactly? xoxo

Tell us more about the nines? Are they really as assholeish as they are portrait as so far?
OOC answer:
The Nines are a pretty complicated bunch, with both the Council and the lower ranking staff having very strongly split opinions on them.
To keep things simple, though? They're by far not as bad as they seem. Their priorities lie very differently from Eight's (saving as many lives as possible) and Seven's (improve the world for the people that live in it) in that they tend to be more caring towards the actual anomalies the Foundation deals with while somewhat disregarding the humans involved in it all; this was very vaguely hinted at before when 565's Shy Guy and its termination were mentioned in the past.
Willow especially is an idealist, who is convinced that, with the right methods, most (if not all) anomalies can eventually be conditioned into being helpful and even 'good', in the broadest sense of the word. They despise the harsher methods some of their colleagues prefer, including multiple of the Council's previous decisions to terminate certain anomalies for one reason or another. They butt heads with people just as much as Eight does through this, which is also why they used to be somewhat close before their wildly different standpoints became glaringly obviously with Valentine's promotion.
Valentine is generally a more neutral person who prefers to stand back and be left alone with their numbers; they share Willow's viewpoint on how anomalies and humans not only should, but need to adapt to function together in the future, but they are less vocal and more rational about it. They know something like this will take forever and that there will be setbacks before they can even just come close to this goal (something Willow tends to get frustrated with), but they decidedly stand behind their partner no matter what.
In the end, they are working towards the greater goal (peace between the anomalous and non anomalous world) just the same as the other Overseers are - their methods on how to achieve it have simply lead to different priorities, though, making them appear somewhat asshole-ish to most of the other members of their Command.
