Starting at the bottom

With a mother f**ing cat unicorn pencil case

Like most teenagers, when I was in high school, I was obsessed with what people thought of me.

I couldn't draw, so I didn't. When I did draw, it was a messy style, and that was all I did, even though I wanted to do something different. Though I dressed colourfully, my belongings were neutral; it was important to not be perceived as a child.

Thank fuck I grew out of that.

Though I've aged, I had danced in excitement when I was gifted a super cool UNICORN CAT pencil box to help me organize my 'supplies'. (I say supplies, but it's really just five pencils and an eraser). Yesterday, I opened up an old empty sketch book that had been long forgotten and looked up the basic steps to start at the very bottom.

I have a long way to go, but I'm proud to start.

I'm really excited that I can start translating my love of anime into a different form. So excited that I felt the need to share it with everyone (lol).

Whatever hobby you have on the backburner. The doubts that plague your mind that you "might not be good enough" all starts with the first step.

This was a quote I used to consider a lot. It reminded me how futile our lives are. But, for many reasons, it's simply wrong.
