Ukesoppsummering uke 4:

Tiden går så fort! Føles ut som at uken begynte i går og sluttet i dag, selv om jeg samtidig vet at det ikke er mulig. Tross alt, har det skjedd veldig mye denne uken som ikke kan presses inn på to dager. Skoleuken har heldigvs vært kort, siden vi fikk fri på fredag fordi det foregår opptaksprøve for dem som har lyst til å komme inn på "Kiyose High School" (Skolen min), til neste år. Altså det vil si VG1. For å komme inn på Videregående skole i Japan, så må én enten ha anbefaling fra den tidligere skolen, eller bestå opptaksprøven som foregår på hver enkelt skole. Såklart prøver alle å komme seg inn på de beste skolene, i hvertfall dem som har lyst til å få seg en god jobb når de blir stor. Skolen min, Kiyose High School sin opptaksprøve skal sies å være veldig vanskelig, for skolen er for dem som er litt over gjennomsnittet smarte. For å si det enkelt, det er en av de bedre skolene her i Tokyo.

På tirsdag hadde vi teklubb, men for å være helt ærlig så er det ikke noe gøy lenger. Det var gøy første dagen, men etter det så har det egentlig vært helt Meh. De snakker så vidt til meg, og føler at jeg ikke hører til der. Så fremover kommer jeg til å ta en pause fra teklubben har jeg bestemt. Det er trist med tanke på hvor mye teutstyr jeg fikk av bestemoren i Gunma, men jeg vil ikke bruke den lille tiden jeg har igjen på noe som bare gjør meg lei meg hver gang, da drar jeg faktisk heller hjem og snakker med vertsfamilein enn å kaste bort tiden på det der.

Samme tirsdagen var det Japank-klassene som jeg deltar på om kvelden, fra 19:00-20:30. Jeg kommer alltid litt for sent på grunn av at vi ikke spiser middag før sånn 18:40, tidligst. Denne uken var det en annerledes lærer igjen, en voksen mann denne gangen. For å si det sånn var jeg litt nærvøs siden det ikke var ei dame, men fant fort ut at det ikke hadde noe betydning. Vi endte opp med å ha den gøyale samtalen, at det ble mer som å sitte på en kafè å snakke med kompisen sin enn å være i et klasserom. Trengte virkelig det den dagen.

Søndag 28. Januar: Fisking med Hotaru! (Bilder på hele innlegget)

Tenkte at jeg hadde lyst til å ta med Hotaru på noe som faktisk ligner litt på normal fisking, så fant denne plassen som var litt svær på google maps. Vi kjøpte oss inn på 3 timers pass, og først fisket vi bare med en slik vanlig trå på pinnesak. Da klarte Hotaru å fange omtrent 15 stykker tenker jeg, som var helt supert siden det var bare én som bet på meg. Han som jobbet der syns at vi fisket for mye, så han spurte om vi kunne bytte til vanlig fiskestang (som er vanskeligere å få napp på). Det var første gang Hotaru prøvde en ekte fiskestang, som var litt uvant for han. De to neste timene som gikk fikk vi hver 2 fisker på fiskestangen før tiden rant fra oss, og det var da trøbbelet begynte.

Verken jeg eller Hotaru visste hvordan én sløyer og gjør ren en fisk, i tillegg så hadde vi ikke tatt med oss hansker eller pose til å ha fiskene våre i. Heldigvis så var det en hyggelig kar som viste oss, og lærte oss hvordan én gjør ren en fisk. Uten tvil var det veldig ekkelt å dra ut innvollene og kutte opp fisken, men det måtte bare gjøres. Hadde blitt enda tungere enn det var å dra med oss all fisken hjem om vi ikke hadde sløyet den. Dessuten så tror jeg at det er en fin erfaring å ha med seg videre.

Rett atmed fiskeplassen var det en bitteliten fornøyelsespark som vi stakk innom før vi dro hjem. *Fisken låste vi inn i et skap* Ikke én eneste berg-og-dalbane var det der, og det mest skumle var nok vikingskipet. Allikevel så var Hotaru storfornøyd med bare det, så da er jeg også det.

Begynte dagen med å tryne på sykkelen foran inngangen til skolen( både sykkel og person er uskadet). Vi måtte gjennom 4 prøver på skolen i dag, men jeg klarte bare engelsken såklart. Forsto med en gang da jeg så matteprøven at dette er umulig, så skal kanskje få annet opplegg i mattetimene enn de andre. Syntes T-matte på VG1 var vanskelig, men ikke i nærheten av dette…

Det som reddet dagen var at jeg fikk noen flere venner fra klasse 2-5. Min klasse er 2-1, som sies å være klassen med de smarte, mer seriøse elevene. Jeg vet ikke om jeg liker det, fordi da føler jeg meg bare enda dummere.😅

Burde heller dratt i klassen for de dumme.

as much as i hated it at the time (it took way too long for me to understand shadow realm implosions) i really do like e10s and i kinda miss it. vg2 was an an interesting challenge and a satisfying mechanic to master, the reason pf hated it was that it required you to move and use your brain and pf hates that (see also: relativity). personally i would have put it closer to vg1 just to make it less skipable but this is why i’m not a game designer

the worst thing about e10, on reflection, was the orbs, just because they were so fucking janky. mechanics where you can do everything right and still lose fail because of janky snapshots are the Worst.

"Oh but Scov hes dead Lazarus shot him-" Um hes an ai and also hes alive in inscryption so shhhhhhhh. Idk how long inscryption takes place after the hex and for all i know, Irving checked up on Inscryption's development before getting shot, but like. Anyways so obv Irving would have a lot to redeem himself for (Crippling Reggie, traumatizing Chandrelle and Lazarus, and at after playing thru the game 3 times im convinced he purposely made Bryce punch him during the training scene and intended to do the same in Cooking Granny but shh. And also im like 99% sure when he wanted to throw Chandrelle overboard he was fully intending to murder her ass) but thats like. The entire reason he SHOULD get redeemed??? And i dont mean smth cheap and insincere like with Shadow Weaver in spop, I mean a legit redemption. Bc hoooo boy does he need to start learning how to apologize, goddamn. I feel like forcing him to spend time around the group would make him realize how badly he fucked up, and I feel like he'd use the excuse "Well I'm just following orders" even tho he: - Told Lionel he would put Reggie in a different game - He admitted that making Vallamir possess Chandrelle was his own idea - It's implied he erased the VG1 files so he could punish Lazarus - Probably was not fuckin told to go try and fight Chandrelle to the death

Anyways so yeah, only one he fully followed orders on was Bryce, which idk if it's just me interpreting Bryce differently or if I'm right here, but I feel like Bryce is the type of guy who, if he saw Irving actively trying to make up for it, he like. He'd try and be some sort of support system??? Like "No Irving, you can't say sorry and then blame them. Apologizing means you're taking the blame." Bc for Bryce, he's like. The only one who can't fully get pissy with Irving??? Like Lionel's the one who bought Bryce, not Irving, so yknow. But yeah I think the big thing with Irving is that to him, these are just game characters. He's not a game character (in the dmg universe, anyways), hes an AI. So there's definitely bound to be a disconnect there, like "Your purpose is to fit a narrative and be a pawn. My purpose is to keep you all in line and make sure development goes smoothly." So like some sort of superiority complex and a lack of understanding.

But yeah, in a post-canon setting, I do think he should get a redemption arc. Not to mention that, if the game were to be from his or Lionel's perspective, he wouldn't be a villain, bc then the narrative would be "These game characters are running around and destroying perfectly good games, so they need to be stopped", he's a villain in the hex purely bc like. Most of the people there fuckin hate him. I mean, hell, in the game that narrates Lionel's life (Walk), Irving seems like a genuinely good guy/AI, up until Rootbeer Tender, which is implied to be put into Walk by Jeremiah I think (or im assuming wrong idk, there was a radio and ik radios are commonly associated with Jeremiah, even if I still gotta get into the basement vending machine). Like, he provided Lionel everything he needed to make a game when he was 12, gave him some good tips, and Lionel even fuckin says that Irving tried to warn him that his life was in danger. Like, up until RBT, if you had only played Walk, you'd think Irving was a helpful AI too. Kinda strayted from my og point but anyways yeah, from his own perspective for the entire game, Irving sees himself as being the good guy, so seeing as how to p much everyone fucking else hes a bad guy here, I think a redemption arc is entirely possible.

And also I mentioned Bryce bc you got it babey I love me some good enemies to lo- /hj And also I like the trope of the local asshole one day looking at The Nice One (tm) and just realizing "Ah fuck I've caught feelings" and then just adamently fucking denying it. Half of the reason I talked abt the redemption arc tbh was just bc this last bit would sound absolutely insane (/neg) without it.
