Finally doing part 2 of this post, continuing with posting about the bonus pages from volume 2

The first bonus comic starts out with an exclamation of "There's a bomb in the cake box!" as the box is thrown away. "What are you doing?!"

A man shouts "I can bake as many cakes as I want. Every day. At YOUR shop! I've always loved you, ever since we were young!"

"I went out with Hibiki to watch a high octane action flick, but to think there's a scene with the childhood best friend confessing with an explosion in the background. How is Hibiki's reaction...?"

So she glances over and--

"She's CRYING?!"

"Could it be she relates to it somehow?! Is she moved by it...no, despair?! So a childhood friend suddenly confessing isn't good?! Huh? Huh?! What exactly is she feeling? What sort of tears are those?!"

(After the movie)

Hibiki: "So when the cake that he worked so hard on blew up, it felt like such a waste and I just burst into tears!"

Miku: "That's right...that's the kind of girl Hibiki is and I also love that about her!"

The second one starts out with Vanessa narrating about how her and the others were reborn from the light that burst forth from Yggdrasil, probably on a whim of Shem-Ha's. But as monsters who've committed so much evil, she can't possibly live in the light of the sun...

So she says she'll be one of those "high income members of the service industry that rule the city's night life" and provide for her family

She ends up using the gadgets in her body for various things like opening wine or lighting cigars and freaks everyone out, making her feel more and more like a monster who can't live among humans

A customer gets too touchy-feely and...

She ends up getting everyone caught in the explosion and gets fired

But she comes home to Elsa and Millaarc who have made sukiyaki for her

Millaarc says her manager increased her quota again, but at least gave her a raise, so she bought some meat

The last page is a bit of art showing Vanessa working as a high speed labeling machine for a side job

i really didn't expect vanessa diodati of all characters to become one of my favorite symphogear characters to write about but once i started imagining things i could do with her relationship to the illuminati pre-AXZ it just fucking unlocked something in me i guess. and now she's fake gay married to bernadetta von fireemblem and lives next door to hibiki's mom

but i mean like how could she not become my favorite character, she's literally what if you took frankenstein's monster except the monster is also the doctor and also inspector gadget and also the fembots from austin powers. she's a depressed and disgraced former scientist whose entire life revolved around a secret society she was born into until she was critically injured in a science experiment and turned into a cyborg to save her life, after which she was stripped of her rank by her own parents and subsequently used as a test platform for further research by her former peers. her only friends are a werewolf and a vampire and she can shoot her boobs like missiles. and yet she is also one of the most underbaked and underdeveloped parts of symphogear xv

she has a giant corkscrew, nail file, and bottle opener hidden in her arm lmao

Since I’ve been talking about Symphogear characters’ outfits, I have to talk about Vanessa’s pants.

She is almost never wearing any for all of XV, and we didn’t really talk about that. She isn’t wearing pants.

First off, Shirabe Meshi will be taking a break next month for preparations of volume 4's release and will be back on January 12.

Okay so chapter 27, second half

Vanessa ended up knocking the booth onto both herself and Elsa

So that end of the plan was a failure. Meanwhile, Millaarc also gets caught by Maria and Chris

"I haven't done anything yet!"

But no worries, they just end up helping them get the transfusion they needed. Elfnein informs them over a video call that what they thought was impurities in the panacea causing them to need more blood was actually...malnutrition/a vitamin B1 deficiency

Basically since they had been low on money, they had been eating almost nothing but carbohydrates (rice served with no sides, cup noodles, etc) the whole time. Kirika immediately comments that it reminds her of when they were terrorists

Shirabe's class had been running a booth selling fried pork (which is why Kirika was going around in a pig costume, to advertise) and since pork is a source of B1, they take them there and prepare some for them

The poor members of Noble Red eat it like it's the best thing they've ever had in their entire lives

They get another call from Maria's group informing them that they found an illegal gambling ring (where a certain someone had lost big) and since the organized crime group behind it were also dealing in Alca-Noise, they were able to step in and bust them.

So basically Millaarc is off the hook when it comes to paying them back

And with all that out of the way, the girls take Noble Red to enjoy the rest of the festival with them
