Over the last few months, Salman Khan kept himself busy reading scripts from directors across the country. While Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and Tiger 3 were commitments made much before the pandemic, there have been speculations and discussions about what is next for Salman after the third film from the Tiger franchise, which releases this Diwali. Pinkvilla was among the first to inform that Salman has locked director Vishnuvardhan’s next action-packed thriller with Karan Johar as producer. And now, we bring to you an exclusive report on the shooting schedule of Salman Khan.

According to sources close to the development, Salman has already started prep work for Vishnuvardhan’s next, and aims to take the film on floors by mid-November. “Salman plays a paramilitary officer in Vishnuvardhan’s next film and has already gotten into the prep mode for the film. He will be sporting a certain look in the film, which also requires him to lose some weight, and its all work in progress at the moment,” revealed a source close to the development. The yet-untitled Vishnuvardhan film will be shot in multiple schedules and is expected to release on Christmas 2024 weekend.

“The first schedule will be around a month-long from mid-November to mid-December, following which Salman would take his year-end break. He returns to the sets by January 10 for another 30 to 45-day schedule before calling it a break on the film,” the source added. From March/April 2024, Salman will commence working on India’s biggest action film, Tiger vs Pathaan, a proper two-hero film that pairs him with Shah Rukh Khan. “The filming for Tiger vs Pathaan begins in Summer with combination dates of both SRK and Salman,” the source informed, quick to add that the duo will be shooting till the end of May on this epic action thriller.

According to the source, Salman is expected to resume work on the final schedule of Vishnuvardhan’s next in June and wrap up the film by July end. “This is the tentative schedule that has been chalked out for Salman. If there is a delay in the shoot of Tiger vs Pathaan from the already planned date, SK will complete Karan’s film by Summer and only then dive into Tiger vs Pathaan. At the moment, YRF is looking to kick off Tiger vs Pathaan from the end of March/early April and the shoot for Vishnuvardhan’s film has been planned keeping all aspects in mind,” the source insisted.

Salman Khan and Sooraj Barjatya's reunion to happen by 2024 end

On wrapping up the Dharma Film, Salman will resume Tiger vs Pathaan for his solo sequences and wrap it up by the end of 2024. “On wrapping up the two heavy-on action films, Salman will get into exploring his softer side with Sooraj Barjatya. The film is locked and will go on floors by the end of 2024/early 2025. It’s tentatively titled Prem Ki Shaadi and will be a family drama in the zone of the classics that SK and Sooraj Barjatya have made over the years. Sooraj will get into the casting of the film by end of this year,” the source shared, quick to add that Salman will be shooting for over 125 days for all the 3 films respectively.

He has been offered several other films, by filmmakers from Hindi as also Tamil and Telugu industries, but Salman is taking his time in locking the line-up. Vardhan Puri, Amrish Puri's grandson, reunites with Cherag Ruparel, the director of his debut film Yeh Saali Aashiqui.

Vardhan Puri discussed his upcoming project with Ruparel, which is believed to be a human drama. Vardhan Puri made his debut in 2019 with Yeh Saali Aashiqui, which earned him a Filmfare nomination for Best Debutante (Male). Since then, his admirers have been hoping for a reunion between the actor and the director of Yeh Saali Aashiqui, Cherag Ruparel. And now, according to sources, it is finally happening.

Vardhan and Cherag will be working on yet another intriguing story. While the plot of the film has not been revealed, the actor has confirmed the reunion and stated his delight for it. "I've been looking for subjects with Cherag for a long time, so that we could find something substantial and exciting to dig our teeth into and create together," he explained. We've discovered a really significant story to convey and are now finalizing the script. When everything is in place, we will make a formal statement to the entire team." The film is a human drama that depicts the narrative of a group of interesting people. Vardhan followed his debut with the horror romance Aseq, which was produced by Jio Studios and directed by Sarim Momin. Jio Cinemas released the film in June of this year.

Following that, the actor has a film with Vivek Agnihotri starring Anupam Kher and the late Satish Kaushik, a film with Endemol directed by Sanjoy Nag, and a film with Jio Studios directed by Kunal Kohli that was shot in London. In addition, he is collaborating with Vikram Bhatt and Mahesh Bhatt on a film opposite Avika Gor. Vardhan has several other exciting initiatives in the works, which will be unveiled soon.

What is lung cancer? Lung cancer is when cells of lungs mutate (change abnormally) and begin growing out of control. These cells grow in an unregulated manner.

They are divided into benign (noncancerous), meaning they do not grow into surrounding areas or spread in the body an malignant (cancerous) tumours grow into nearby tissues or spread to other parts of the body (metastasize).

How does lung cancer develop? This is a matter of debate but in general, cancer develops after the genetic material in cells changes abnormally and there is unregulated growth of these cells. When there are enough of these abnormal cells, they can form a tumour.

Lung cancer often is a result of chronic exposure to tobacco smoke, either from smoking or from being around second-hand smoke. It also is linked to exposure to certain substances like radon gas or asbestos, or from prior radiation treatment to or over the lungs. These days a very prominent cause of lung cancer specially in India which is rising at a rapid rate is air pollution and there are many studies correlating lung cancer to air pollution.

What are the types of Lung Cancer? There are two main types

Non-small cell lung cancer

Squamouscell carcinoma

Adenocarcinoma

Bronchoalveolarcarcinoma

Large-cell undifferentiated carcinoma

Smallcell lung cancer

What are the Stages of Lung Cancer?

Staging is important to plan treatment and is based:

Size

Location

Metastasis

The stages of lung cancer are: Stage 1: Confined to lung, not spread to the lymph nodes or distant organs. Surgery is the best modality at this stage.

Stage 2: Cancer has spread from to nearby lymph nodes. Surgery followed by adjuvant therapy is best treatment.

Stage 3: Cancer is in the lung and has spread to mediastinal lymph nodes. Chemotherapy may be recommended before and after surgery with adjuvant radiotherapy. Targeted therapies may be used after surgery.

Stage 4 (Metastatic): Cancer has progressed beyond the lung to distant organs. This advanced stage of cancer is commonly managed by non surgical methods like palliative chemoradiation and targeted therapies.

How is lung cancer diagnosed? Diagnostic phase is tailor basedaccording to each individual patient. Tests may include:

Blood Tests (Blood Draws) Several blood tests are required to help establish the diagnosis and plan the further course of treatment.

Imaging (Radiology) To obtain the most precise understanding of your cancer, your doctor may schedule you for different types of imaging that diagnose cancer. This may include Contrast Enhanced Computed Tomography (CECT) or Positron Emission Tomography(PET) or Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI).

Lung Biopsy (Pathology) If imaging or other screening tests show that there is atumour, a biopsy will be needed. This test takes a tiny sample of cells from abnormal areas of tissue. This of an image guidence depending on the location of the tumour.

Ultrasound guided Biopsy

CT (Computed Tomography) Guided biopsy

Endo Bronchial UltraSound Biopsy for Lymph Nodes or Centrally located tumours

What are the tests done to stage lung cancer? The clinical staging is important to treat and to prognosticate. This will require

Whole Body PET/CT Scan Positron emission tomography (PET) Scan is a special imaging modality wherein a small amounts of radioactive materials called radiotracers or radiopharmaceuticals are injected in to the veins. These radiotracers accumulate in areas where there may be tumour cells and will be detected using a special camera and a computer. By identifying changes at the cellular level, PET scan may detect the early onset of disease before other imaging tests can and also help in identifying whether the disease is limited to lungs or has spread beyond it.

MRI Brain Certain patients will require MRI of the brain to rule out spread to brain which sometimes is not picked up by PET scan.

Endo-Bronchial Ultrasound Guided staging of Mediastinal Lymph nodes This test is used to check for spread of the cancer to regional or Mediastinal Nodes. It involves the use of a special bronchoscope which has an ultrasound probe at its tip. This is used to visualise the lymph nodes from which needle biopsy is taken and which is then subjected to evaluation by Pathologists for presence of cancer cells

Mediastinoscopy This is a surgical procedure that is advised in patients with Lung Cancer to conclusively rule out the involvement of Mediastinal Nodes in the central part of the chest, which is the space between the heart, lungs, windpipe, and esophagus.

Earlier in April, before the release of the Salman Khan starrer Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, Bollywood Hungama was the first to report that Salman was in talks with filmmaker Karan Johar for an exciting venture that would hit screens in 2024 on Eid. Informing us about the development a well-placed industry source had said that Salman was looking at scripts but had shown keen interest in one from Dharma Productions. While, at that time details were being kept tightly under wraps, it was learnt that the film in question would be a big-budget entertainer that would do justice to Salman Khan and his Eid release special. Well, now we hear that Salman and Karan have made some headway on the project. A source informed Bollywood Hungama, 

“Talks between the two have been going on for a while; in fact, the latest update is that Shershaah director Vishnu Vardhan has apparently been finalized to direct the venture. Though the proverbial dotted line is yet to be signed between all concerned parties, progress has been steady.” Ask for details on the film and the source continues, “The film will see Salman Khan and Karan Johar coming together after a gap of 25 years, though there were reports that the actor had signed on for Shuddhi, the venture never really panned out. Given this fact, and of course the fact that the venture would release on Eid, the makers are sure to pull out all stops to ensure its grandeur.

”Further talking about the venture and its eventual release the source continues, “Eid has now become synonymous with the release of a Salman Khan film. It has become a ritual of sorts. This film is being planned for release on Eid 2024. And to ensure its massy appeal and entertainment value who better than Vishnu Vardhan, who has not only directed Shershaah but has in the past given us some rather entertaining films in the south industry.

”While currently Salman Khan is enjoying the success of his recent release Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, the forthcoming venture with Karan is said to still be in the nascent stages of development. Interestingly, besides this venture Salman will also be seen later this year in the YRF spy universe film Tiger 3, that is directed by Maneesh Sharma.
