***VETCH IS ONE of my favourite non-native Wildflowers of the Toronto region!!! I love how it just gently creeps over things, and its flowers are a lovely deep purple hue!! The one I know is Cow Vetch!
Please no spoilers in the notes I’m only on chapter 4
My terrariums! The first one is a spice jar (cinnamon) with moss, lichen and a small plant. The second one is a old jar that had flour in it with henbit deadnettle, trefoil, vetch, moss and some lichen samples. The third is a terrarium I got for Christmas with some vetch and pink polka dot plants, this one is the first open one I’ve done
Ged also spoke low, to use his friend’s true name: “No matter, Estarriol. But this is myself, and I am glad to see you…”
[Estarriol] heard, perhaps, something more than simple gladness in his voice. He had not yet let go of Ged’s shoulder, and he said now, in the True Speech, “In trouble and from darkness you come, Ged, yet your coming is joy to me.”
I’m reading the Earthsea books for the first time… super recommend the first one to anyone in need of a heartfelt story of discovery and self acceptance… wow 😭

Graer was selected for an outing on the Middlesex Greenway today, and he found something that no other rootings or mushroom folk had before. Or perhaps they weren’t blooming until now. It was a whole large patch of vetch plants with numerous bluish-purple flowers. He thought they were amazingly beautiful, and spent quite a bit of time playing amongst the flowers and leaves. After showing the pictures I took of him with the vetches to his friends in the Roots and ‘Shrooms Gang, Mudpie joked that Graer had been “kvetching,” which means complaining in Yiddish. They all had a big laugh about it. XD
