🎶 Do you listen to music while you write? (Bonus, if so what genre?)
Sometimes! I find that listening to music, especially if I’m familiar with the song and it’s lyrics, it’ll effect my writing heavily and take it to places I had not previously planned. So sometimes when I want that, I’ll listen to it. Occasionally I’ll have lyric-less music playing, but not often.
From there, genre depends on the mood of the writing piece. Because I do a lot of whump, it’s often angsty stuff. Usually emo or rock, mostly from the 2000s and early 2010s.

"Alright my dear, it's time for bed", Caretaker smiled as they approached the couch where Whumpee was laying.
"But, um", Whumpee looked down at the book they were reading. They made a puzzled face at Caretaker.
"What do you want to say Whumpee? Go ahead", Caretaker encouraged. They were happy to see Whumpee communicate more often now.
"My book, I'm almost done", Whumpee held it up, "can I.... um may I?", asking for things was still a struggle for Whumpee though. It was a new concept for someone to actually care about what Whumpee wanted.
"Do you want a couple extra minutes to finish the book Whumpee?", Caretaker eyed the book curiously, "it does look like you have a few more pages."
"Ye-yes please", Whumpee relaxed. Fully thankful Caretaker had figured it out.
"Okay", Caretaker nodded, "thankyou for asking. I'll go get your bed turned down."
Whumpee made a frightened face, "please no. I'll finish reading tomorrow if you want me to. Please don't do that to my b..... wait, I'm sorry. I have no right asking that much.. please forgive", Whumpee struggled to catch their breath.
Caretaker knelt in front of Whumpee, "Shh, Whumpee what's going on?", they rubbed Whumpee's arm gently, "you can finish your book, I don't mind."
"Y-you said you'd tear down my bed, I was scared that you were mad at me. Then I realized I have no right to even have a bed. Please forgive It."
"Whumpee you misheard me. I'm going to turn down your bed", Caretaker watched Whumpee's face turn to a confused expression.
"Turning down a bed is the opposite of making a bed. You pull back the sheets, fluff up the pillows. Get any stuffies you might want. You get the bed cozy and ready for sleeping", Caretaker smiled, "you absolutely have a right to a bed. Where else would you sleep? The ceiling?"
"Master says a slave's place is on the floor, but they don't need sleep. It was lucky to be allowed to rest it's eyes", Whumpee looked down, "you're not going to tear down the bed?"
"No Whumpee", Caretaker extended their hand, "here, let me show you how to turn down a bed. You can read the rest of your book in the comfort of your bed."
Whumpee nodded as they took Caretaker's hand and followed them to the room.
Caretaker taught them the step by steps.
"Okay climb in, let's see if it is cozy", Caretaker lifted up the last sheet so Whumpee could crawl in.
Caretaker tucked them in and then pulled out a stuffed toy, "can't forget this."
Whumpee excitedly grabbed the stuffie and cuddled it close, "thankyou."
"You are very welcome", Caretaker stood and adjusted the light, "I'll come back and check on you in a few minutes, go ahead and finish the book. Maybe we can go to the library for another one if you'd like."
"Ok", Whumpee smiled, "thankyou so much Caretaker."
"You're welcome dear", Caretaker went to the door and grinned back at Whumpee.
Caretaker finished a few chores before checking on Whumpee again.
Whumpee was still sitting up, but was drooped over to the side.
Caretaker grinned as they slide the book from Whumpee's hands and set it aside. Careful to not lose their place.
They helped Whumpee lay down. Whispering reassuring words so not to startle them too much.
Whumpee squinted their eyes open for a second before nodding off again.
Caretaker continued to whisper while they pulled up the blanket and tucked in Whumpee's stuffed toy.
They turned off the light, then went to turn on Whumpee's nightlight.
Caretaker took in Whumpee's peaceful moans for a few minutes before pulling the door closed halfway.
Caretaker sat for a few minutes documenting the rest of the day before they to got ready for bed.
"Sweet dreams Whumpee", they made one final peak into the bedroom before heading to their room.

The box
A continuation of my A Weak Mind piece :))) Which can be found here: Part 1
I definitely am not as big a fan as I am of the first one but I like the idea I went for!
Tagging @villainsandheroes since you requested in the previous part to be tagged if a part two were ever made :D
cw: dehumanization, brainwashing
———————————————————————
The sight made Hero’s insides churn.
It was just an abnormally large box. Wooden and smooth, a shining, vibrant blue bow carefully placed on top. Several round, thumb sized holes littered the surface.
But the box was familiar. That was the most unsettling part.
Hero was well aware of what it contained.
A heavy boot took a hesitant step toward the box. They didn’t feel like his shoes, like his legs. It could have almost been as if he was viewing someone else's body, someone else’s fate. His scarred hands caressed the polished box, and swiftly ripped it from it’s secured spot, despite the nails.
Even if he was well aware of what he would find, he couldn’t help but be unprepared to be faced with it. Hero hoped, hoped desperately that he was wrong. He prayed to anyone that would listen, that his prediction would be false.
It was not.
Curled and twisted inside the box lay Villain, his limbs contorted by the box unfit for a grown man. As expected, his eyes were droopy, glassy, and unfocused. He barely registered the man standing over him, the man he had last fought viciously against only several weak prior.
The man in the box looked like Villain, yet also not. He had Villain’s face, his eyes, his nose, but such a distant expression was one that Villain had never worn. Contrary to how Hero had always seen him, Villain’s hair usually kept carefully pristine and styled, it was now shaggy and greasy. Villain now also wore a pair of loose shorts and tank top, contrasting his usual tight fitting, glamorous suit.
He looked just like the rest of them.
“Hey bud.” Hearing the sound of his own sugar coated, condescending voice made Hero sick.
His voice though, it caused something to awaken inside of Villain. His gaze shifted to meet with Hero, the lids of his eyes opening from their prior droopy state. Hero crouched down slightly, leaning his hands on his knees.
“It’s me, buddy, Hero.” Villain sluggishly unfurled himself from the heap on the floor of the container, adjusting to an eager sitting position. His slender hands were placed together on the surface of the box, his legs bent apart. He lazily rested his chin on the crate.
Begrudgingly, Hero set a gentle hand to Villain’s head, scratching tenderly through Villain’s stringy locks.
Hero was petting him. Even worse, it was obvious that Villain liked it. His dull eyed smile was a telltale sign.
Just as it was for the rest.
“Good boy.” Hero wanted to vomit. He could feel the heat rising in his throat, and him forcing his body to shove it back down. Contrary to Hero, Villain beamed at the praise. He nuzzled his cheek to Hero’s hand, yearning for the soft touch.
As Villain cuddled his head to Hero’s rough hand, Hero noticed an noise. The crinkling of paper did not come as a surprise, the slightly crumpled letter attached to Villain’s collar swinging with the movement of his head. Hero reached for the letter, carelessly ripping it from the fabric on Villain’s neck.
Hero’s name was written in a delicate, familiar handwriting on the front. The writing on the back came with no surprise as well.
From,
Superhero
Hero aggressively crumpled the paper, shoving it into his back pocket. He was already well aware of what it said, having read the same words over and over again.
He turned his attention back to Villain. He was the focus, the one in need, not Hero. It was Hero’s fault that Villain had even been roped into the mess in the first place.
“Hey, buddy, do you wanna come inside? Get out of this uncomfy box?” As hard as it was, Hero strained a comforting smile for the man nuzzled into his fingers. Villain made no attempt at recognizing the words.
Just like the others.
Hero groaned, pushing himself back to his normal height. He turned his body, motioning toward the front door. “Buddy, come on inside.”
Villain instantly crawled out from the box, positioning himself on all fours. Hero’s eyes trailed after the man crawling into his home.
Hero shut the door behind the two as they slowly made their way inside the home. It was not large, but definitely bigger than one would imagine a man living alone would own. Except, as most people were unaware, Hero definitely did not live alone, hence the reason he had been forced to move from his prior apartment several years past.
As Hero turned to show Villain to the rest of the home, his eyes caught their new visitor.
Supervillain peered at Hero, making a slow crawl toward Villain.
As much as he didn’t want to believe it, Supervillain’s fate had been his fault. The rest of the lives that were ruined definitely were.
Supervillain was his arch nemesis, years and years piled upon the two’s fierce battles. Superhero was far less fit for field work, pushing Hero into that role soon after her step from the spotlight.
Even if their fights constantly ended in a tiresome tie, Hero may have enjoyed it. The bickering, the adrenaline, Supervillain’s charm was shamefully endearing as well. For years they feuded, fought meaningless fights, the Civilians constantly on the edge of their seats to see one man finally walk out victorious.
Even if it had appeared to many that the champion reigned Hero, in the end, it was neither.
At first it was days. Days turned to weeks, weeks to months, currently years. Supervillain had disappeared. The Civilians had soon given up their fear of Supervillain’s return, worshiping Hero as their long due savior.
The Hero agency had announced Supervillain dead, so why wouldn’t they consider him the winner?
Even if his body was still technically breathing, Supervillain was long dead.
Superhero had made sure of it. And she made plenty sure to bring more Villains down along with him.
After being gifted Supervillain, Hero was in shambles. He had found whatever Superhero had done to the man was perfectly legal. Hero, keeping a brainwashed man as a pet, was perfectly fine by the law. As much as Hero hated the entire situation, he could not give Supervillain back to his captor.
And after the years, Hero got used to it. He eventually got familiar with the rest of the “gifts” as well.
Supervillain’s fall had reluctantly opened the spot for Hero’s newest foe. As of now, there had been four to rise to the top since then.
Despite Hero’s pleads, his begs, for whatever Villain he had fought at the time to escape while they had the chance, it was evident that none had listened. It seemed now that the simple act of speaking to Hero could land you in Supervillain’s position. Villain had only been fighting Hero for three months!
All four of them, which included Hero’s newest companion, had all met the same solemn fate as Supervillain. Spending the rest of their days in mindless bliss, residing with their past enemy.
And if Hero so much as thought about escaping Superhero’s clutches, she could use her ridiculous power to pluck the former Villain’s from his care.
And only God knows what would happen to them then.
The unopened letter called for Hero’s attention. “Hey there, Supervillain. Meet your new roommate.” He watched as the two crept toward one another, staring blank eyed and baren.
It finally dawned upon Hero that he had led another troubled, innocent person into Superhero’s clutches. He really was going to be sick. His stomach flipped, sending him over the edge.
Hero turned to the living room, swiftly surveying the pile of sleeping bodies on the floor. The group huddled together as usual, wrapped in a mountain of fuzzy blankets and pillows. “There's, um, there's the rest of them. Make yourself at home, please. I’ll, um, I’ll be right back.” As the two figures on the floor crawled to the rest in a heap, Hero strode to his own room.
As soon as he was out of sight, the letter tore from his pocket. He furiously ripped the crinkled letter from its envelope, causing rips and tears to litter the paper. He furiously studied it, anger bubbling in his throat.
Dear my beloved Hero,
I’ve noticed you made a new friend recently! He really reminded me of Supervillain, I bet you noticed it too. So eager to appeal to you, so eager to get close to the savior of the people. I just couldn’t resist making another gift! He’s a great one, as I expected. And trust me, he loves you. You can tell me at work how much you love the present.
Sincerely,
Superhero

:) Thank you I was just feeling bored lol.
1. Are you named after anyone?
No, none of me or my siblings are named after anyone, my mom just found names she liked and that she thought sounded good with our last name. And then my dad picked from those options I think lol.
2. When was the last time you cried?
God... yesterday? I don’t think i’ve cried yet today 😂 I cry incredibly easily over fiction, or even just imaginary scenarios I have come up with occasionally lmao. Even when Im not that invested in the story I will cry. It’s a problem.
3. Do you have any kids?
hahaha no, I am steadily single, plan to stay that way, and don’t want kids of my own.
4. Do you use sarcasm?
mmm I’m gonna say sometimes? but not as often as I did when I was younger I feel 🤔 not sure why though.
5. What's the first thing you notice about someone?
anything that particularly stands out about them I suppose. I don’t think I have a pattern for each person.
6. What's your eye color?
blue
7. Scary movies or happy endings?
how about scary movie with a happy ending?? I can enjoy both but a depressing ending will tend to make me not really like something. Or at least not ever want to rewatch it lol.
8. Any special talents?
I am a pretty good singer I think, and I am a decent artist when I occasionally draw. Drawing/art was my first love long before writing and then when I was a teenager I sort of made the transition into writing more than art. But I still love it.
9. Where were you born?
Washington state
10. What are your hobbies?
I just love stories, and creativity, so reading, writing, watching movies, music, drawing. I play the piano and sing on occasion. I also journal sometimes.
11. Do you have any pets?
yes! two kitties I love to death.
12. What sports do you play/have you played?
None! lol Assuming this means like, organized sports, I never participated in any, otherwise... still not really any besides maybe a volleyball game every summer.... or bowling lol. Despite being decently athletic as a kid, I hate exercise and am pretty well out of shape at this point lol. I’ve been doing yoga recently to try to work on my flexibility.
13. How tall are you?
5′4″
14. Favorite school subject?
It’s been so long lol, probably English, or art. Mostly depended on the teacher.
15. Dream job?
definitely author... I have no real hopes of being published any day soon or ever really lol, but if it did somehow happen, and I made enough to support myself on... yes dream job for sure.

Were you formally diagnosed with ADHD? Was it as a child, teen, or adult? Did you realize it yourself or was it picked up on by someone else? Through what you've previously shared I learned I hadn't understood what ADHD was AT ALL and that the media portrayal of the hyperactivity/short attention span was not really what it was about so thank you!
@the-villainsandheroes asked: I'm assuming based on the 'ask about adhd', that you have adhd, and you stated that your pronouns are 'she/her', so I was wondering, how does your adhd present? I've just read that it presents differently in women, but I haven't actually known anyone who has been diagnosed with adhd to talk with them about it.
I was formally diagnosed with ADHD a year and a half ago, but I’ve been seeing an ADHD specific therapist for two years now.
It was weird, because my best friend from high school actually suspected she herself had ADHD and sought out a therapist. At the time I was suffering from crippling depression, anxiety, and self-harm issues, and it hadn’t worked out with the last two therapists I’d seen, so my friend convinced me to see the therapist she was seeing, who specialized in ADHD, but also had experience in helping people with all sorts of issues.
Honestly, I was terrified, but my therapist said she knew within two sessions that I had ADHD, which confused me, because I don’t present the stereotypical symptoms. She sent me to a psychiatrist, and since the depression and anxiety were the most pressing issues, my psychiatrist wanted to try treating them first. I spent six months cycling through different anti-depressants that didn’t work before a close friend and my therapist got my dad involved, and my psychiatrist finally tested me for ADHD and I was diagnosed.
As of right now, I am on a combination of two different meds, one for anxiety and one for ADHD, and they honestly work wonders. Of course, they’re not a cure, but I like to think I have made significant progress in the past two years with the combo of meds and therapy!
As for how my ADHD presents, yeah, it’s not in hyperactivity. It mainly presents as inattentiveness, which in turn, fuels my anxiety disorder.
One of the biggest things that still frustrates me to this day, is my inability to listen to people speak. A lot of the times, no matter how invested I am, I will miss part of the conversation, and I have to wrack my brain trying to backtrack to figure out what the heck they were talking about once I tune back in.
I don’t even notice I’m doing it. Just suddenly my brain will jump on a word they’ve said and off it goes! Sometimes I don’t even notice the speaker’s words have become background noise for several minutes, and a lot of people assume I just don’t care. Which isn’t true (most of the time). I don’t do it on purpose, and to cope with this, I used to mouth along with what people were saying to keep my brain focused on their words.
I have impulsivity problems, too. Especially with my skin. When my brain can’t keep me fully occupied, or I’m thinking really hard about something, my hands need something to occupy them or I will end up with small cuts all over my arms from my nails either scratching or picking at my skin.
My ADHD also affects how I write. It’s either the easiest or hardest task in the world, depending on a few different factors, and honestly this was a problem even before my meds. Sometimes the switch even happens while I’m writing.
I know that there are those posts about the relatability of staring at a blank word doc because nothing is coming to mind, but for me, I can literally stare at a blank document for an hour and have all the words up in my head, and I’ll still be unable to start writing because although I know where I want to go, I can’t stop myself from getting distracted from literally starting.
I hate the issues I have with writing, because I can go a few months without having an issue, and then one day I’m writing something like one sentence per twenty minutes because I’ve gotten lost in my own head.
Basically, it’s not that I have a short attention span, it’s just that I have a Focus Meter, and it can be overflowing (hyperfocusing) or it can be drained (inattentiveness), and honestly even with meds and therapy and coping strategies, it’s hard to predict which one it will be.
Time either exists completely, ticking slowly as it drives me mad, or it doesn’t exist at all. ADHD, for me, is fighting against one extreme or the other and learning to live without a middle ground.
So, yeah. Inattentiveness. I’m not an expert on ADHD, but from what I understand, the presentation of inattentiveness or a combination of both inattentiveness and hyperactivity is more common in women than just hyperactivity, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. I can’t say for sure, but this is what I’ve seen from the people in my life that live with ADHD.
I hope this made sense and I was able to shed a little more light on the struggles of ADHD. Thanks for the asks!
edit: for some reason I counted 2017 as 2016 and have corrected the amount of time sdfghjk I apologize

For Andi 13 and 26 and for Luna 33 and 50 >:))
Guess who found an ask from over a month ago that they started to write and then forgot about? It’s me :( I’m so bad about starting to write something and getting distracted and never finishing it. But anyway!! The show must go on!
13. Describe your character's typical wardrobe for the regular day.
Andi wears a lot of sweaters! They really like warmer, darker colors. Lots of deep reds and browns. They dress mostly masc, but the occasional nice evening dress never hurt anyone.
26. Are they an animal person? Do they have any pets?
Andi does like animals, but I wouldn’t consider them a fanatic. Being a hero requires a lot of time and sacrifice, so they don’t really have time for a pet! If they did have time, they’d like to have a big, playful dog like a golden retriever.
33. How do they act around people they don’t know? Are they shy around strangers or dismissive of them?
It depends on the circumstances. When she meets strangers on the job, she’s calm and professional. Meeting strangers as a civilian
50. How does your sleep at night? Are they a heavy or light sleeper? Do they dream or have nightmares? Do they find it easy to sleep or are they a night owl?
How does she sleep at night with everything she’s done?
Anyway! I imagine she sleeps fairly light. You have to be ready at a moments notice to get up and go when you’re a superhero. I don’t imagine she has too many nightmares, except for the occasional painful memory/flashback. She had… unfortunate things happen to her in the past. I also imagine she’s a bit of a night owl at heart, but she tries to maintain a strict sleep schedule that will best suit her in her line of work.

Whumpee kneeled off to the side of Whumper's feet, listening to their conversation on the phone. Whumper didn't seem to happy when they hung up.
Whumpee silently groaned. Hoping and praying they could just disappear, or Whumper would forget about them until they cooled down.
"Don't move, stay quiet", they told themself, "don't be noticed."
"Pet", Whumper sighed.
"Shit!", Whumpee yelled inwardly.
"Pet come here", Whumper laid down on the couch and snapped their finger.
Whumpee crawled to Whumper's hand and waited for the next command.
Whumper patted Whumpee's head, which came as a surprise to Whumpee. They were completely ready to get slapped or something.
"Jump up here and lay on top of me", Whumper commanded, "I need some deep pressure, that conversation upset me."
Whumpee climbed on top of Whumper. This was a new command, and Whumpee was terrified, not knowing where this was going.
"Ok, go ahead and lay on top of me. Your head can go on my chest, yep just like that", Whumper patted their head again.
Whumpee could feel themselves shaking in fear. They were lying on top of Whumper, and their head was resting on their chest.
"No need to be nervous. You're not in trouble", Whumper sighed, "I need some deep pressure. My weighted blanket is not heavy enough for what I need, so you are going to help me with that. Am I clear?"
"Yes master", Whumpee whispered trying to calm the shaking.
Whumper started to run their fingers through Whumpee's hair, and scratch and massage their scalp and neck. They even went as far as to massage and scratch under the collar.
Whumpee didn't want to admit it, but they would stay there forever if Whumper would keep doing this.
Whumper started to rub Whumpee's ears. They laughed a little when Whumpee moaned during the ear massage.
"I guess I know how to get you to melt into my hands", Whumper glanced down as they rubbed Whumpee's ears, "are you enjoying yourself?"
"Y-yes master", Whumpee sighed, "thankyou for your kindness and mercy."
"I've been thinking about doing this for a while, sometimes that blanket isn't enough", Whumper looked down again, "this is actually helping."
Whumpee relaxed their body.
"Oh yes this is definitely helping", Whumper smiled, "I guess you have a new use pet, weighted blanket 2.0."
Whumper started to get heavy eyed, as did Whumpee. Whumper's hand stilled while scratching under Whumpee's collar, so their fingers held onto it. Whumpee rested their cheek against Whumpers chest, and dozed off.
Taglist. As always please let me know if you want to be added or taken off of the list. Note
The most Ravenclaw thing I ever did was procrastinate an 8 page research paper until the day it was due, then panic-write the whole thing in 7 hours. I turned it in without proof-reading 40 minutes before the link closed, and made the highest grade in the class.
yes yes yes been there done that this is a whole freaking mood

Film ask game: 4 & 5
4. A film you could watch on repeat for the rest of your life?
Ohh...there’s a couple, but right now I’m gonna go with Good Omens, even though it’s a series.
5. What’s the very first film you remember watching?
I’m honestly not sure; the earliest ones I can think of all kinda blend together and I have no clue which one was first.

🎪 Because what do you do on a Monday night when sleep is running away? • • You (meaning ME) read #Finale by @stephanie_garber 🎪 I have absolutely loved the world that she has created. I originally read #Caraval when it first released. And then immediately purchased #Legendary - but kept it on my shelf until THIS beauty came out. I wanted to enjoy all three back-to-back! • • I have loved every magical character, words, phrases and guilty plots that have been woven into this world! My 🎩 goes off to you @stephanie_garber for such a wonderful job! • • Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a 470 page book to read!! Oh, and I can’t forget my #beaubean by @bookbeau - it has been my best friend and constant companion since I purchased it. I actually had some words with my daughter over it because she seemed to like to cuddle with it. Of course, she is now the proud owner of a #flannelbeaubean and refuses to let it go!! • • #offigotocaraval #magicalworld #heroesandvillains #villainsandheroes #thefatesawait #booknerd #booklove #booklife https://www.instagram.com/p/BzH2nIJAuvx/?igshid=18ea8ntrii5nu
