Another indication that Putin is trying to bring back the Soviet Union in all but name. A statue (actually a bust) of totalitarian despot Joseph Stalin was dedicated this week in Volgograd.
While exact numbers are difficult to come by, Stalin was certainly in the same ballpark as Hitler in terms of mass murder and genocide.
Stalin was responsible for the 1932-1933 genocide in Ukraine known as the Holodomor. A brand new statue of Stalin, 215 miles/364 km due east of Ukraine, is a public demonstration of the state of Russia’s moral depravity.
