Volkov and Anja were childhood lovers, known each other from a young age, though briefly they broke up when the couple were 18 after Volkov dissappeared from Russia.

(But that didn't mean he didn't stop loving Anja, he always did)

Of course there was specualtion that he had some involvement with prostitutes he'd never fully indulge with them, thst was more of his workers who did that. He still stayed loyal to Anja.

Volkov & Anja reunited in 1961, shortly after that they became a couple once more.

At first Volkov was hesitant for her to join his warehouse as a doctor, but he couldn't control her life. He allowed her to work there so they could be more closer together.

They made it work; Keeping their relationship a secret, even though everyone would find out in the end.

Even their marriage was a secretive one, a way so that Volkov's enemies wouldn't find out he has a wife.

In addition Volkov never wears his ring when he works, he always keeps it hidden under his shirt as a necklace.

The last thing he wanted to happen was his wife & children to get hurt.

Volkov is the apitome of an old fashioned lover; Raining? He'd put his jacket over Anja's head, opening doors for her, little presents he'd give her.

The bare minimum you'd expect from a man, he knows how to treat a lady right. It isn't rocket science.

Volkov is more of a giver in terms of gifting things, than physical affection.

He doesn't hate physical affection by all means, he loves sex, holding hands, cuddling.

Though he sees giving gifts as something more meaningful and an excuse to burn his money since he has so much of it.

So overall he's 50/50 on affection, depending if he's stressed from work, or any other reasons.

He'd only give affection to those close to him, his family & wife Anja.

He'd also likes how short Anja was compared to him, a big plus about their relationship was the height difference.

And the fact he could easily carry her bridal style, or over the shoulder fireman style.

Volkov isn't the tallest person, but tall enough to make any person feel small beneath him.

With the constant feud of him & Korik always tried to get his way with Anja, ocassionally he'd always felt self conscious about it.

As many times Anja did reassure him, sometimes at the back of his midnight he had his doubts about it.

Volkov is a jealous man without a doubt, he doesn't like any other man looking at Anja but him.

Sometimes he'd approach the men boldly or give them a kind of stare that would make any man back off.

Of course he'd like Anja have male friends, because he trusts her but if they get too close, or even the slightest affection of her.

Let's just say they don't see daylight again. Or cut it odd to collateral damage, or any kind of excuse Volkov had.
