Crackpot Theory about Rher and Alll-Mer [Termina Ending Spoilers]

What if Rher was the Sun God who's soul Alll-Mer absorbed in order to ascend? Stay with me on this one I think it may have some water. Everything we know about Ascension is as follows: 1. You need to absorb the soul of an Old God. That's it for the concrete knowledge. 2. You may also need to already be of divinity because the Girl was the daughter of Le'Garde and the New God Nilvan. We also know All-Mer was the son of a Mortal and some sort of Divinity. As far as I'm aware it's never specified who but I feel it's safe to assume the "False God" was a New God. From the one Ascension we've seen in the series it was the God of the Depths being absorbed by the Girl. When an Old God's soul is absorbed only some aspects of them are taken under the Ascended God. Depths additionally had dominion over Vermin and Insects. In Termina after Fear and Hunger ascended it now only has dominion over Insects as F&H has taken Vermin. All of this is to say- What if Rher wasn't just a Moon God Originally? We know that Rher is "Absent" whatever it means for a God to be absent yet still radiant. Looking at old depictions of Rher in books he looks a bit different to his modern day appearance.

To point out the obvious, The moon is now full. Could this change in appearance be due to the original Soul being absorbed by Alll-Mer and a new* god being created from it? We don't see the new Depths in Termina so it's hard to say for sure. *New as in the sense that current Rher is a separate being from ancient Rher. F&H has a whole has a shit ton of influences from the real world. So I think it's fair to use real world symbolism when talking about it. Rher's original form could've been more of a Sun & Moon god. Linking the two together has been a common thing throughout all of human history. Plus that sort of Crescent Moon over Sun imagery is rather common. [Purely for Illustrative Purposes]

If you where to remove the sun flares from it then old Rher is spot on. I feel pretty confident in this theory however it has one pretty big flaw I feel the need to point out. Neither Rher, Alll-Mer or Sulfur's symbols look alike.

My shitty paint drawings cause finding good images of them is annoying me. Also- Sulfur is Alll-Mer's negative essence split off from himself during (maybe before) ascension. Which is why I mention it since it's only really present in one ending. Bonus I didn't feel fit elsewhere + not strong evidence.

In Battle Rher's appearance shifts again as he gains rings around himself. This evokes images of the Thrones which are a type of angel described in the bible. At their center is their true form surrounded by bright fire (Debatably the fire is around the rings themselves). You know what else is a ball of bright fire? The Sun. Yeah. Not- The greatest evidence. Still felt like I should mention it. So let's summarize. 1. Rher's appearance has changed since his Skin Bible was written. 2. Rher's old appearance looks like a crescent moon overlapping a sun. 3. We know vaguely that Alll-Mer absorbed the Sun God's soul in order to ascend. 4. Rher is current "Absent" but still powerful enough to cast spells and rituals in his name. I feel fairly confident in this theory. It's been scratching at the back of my brain for a few days so I just felt the need to say it. If you have any thoughts / evidence that could Prove/Disprove anything here lemme know.

July 4, 1985 - Loss

Max watched as Billy stood up, arms out and proceeded to protect Jane and the group from the mind flayer

Then one of the tendrils of the big monster went right thru Billy’s midsection.

She knew she was screaming bloody murder but she couldn't hear herself. All she heard was Billy apologizing and watching as no one came to be with him as he died, not even him

July 6, 1985: Betrayal

Max stood in between Neil and her mom as the preacher said his eulogy.

No one showed. Not her so-called friends, her so-called boyfriend, Hopper, or any of them, including him.

None of Billy's friends attended either.

The fact that if it wasn't for his sacrifice all those assholes might be dead made Max’s insides hurt.

Also, the fact that all the people who were “flayed” we're also alive and well somehow, alll except for her brother made her feel sick.

They had rough patches but they started to connect after everything at the cabin.

She cried. She cried for what could've been and she cried because she was alone.

As they lowered Billy's casket into the ground, Max wished she could go with him but she knew for a fact he wouldn't want that.

Two hours later

After returning home, Neil and her mom stoped in the living room and turned to her.

“We are having a baby,” her mom said as if they hadn't just attended a fucking funeral.

The pain continued though.

“We are turning the spare room into a nursery” her mom went on.

Max couldn't take another word. “Spare room, spare room. That's Billy's fucking room. He's only been in the ground for a couple of hours and you act like he didn't fucking exist. I'm out of here” Max said, grabbing her skateboard and slamming the door behind her headed out to where she didn't know but she couldn't stay there.

That night

Max snuck into her bedroom and as quietly as possible snuck into Billy's room and collected whatever she thought was valuable to him, including the necklace he always wore.

Grabbing his blanket Max went back to her room, curled up in the blanket, and cried until she fell asleep.

July 8, 1985: boiling point

Max was out on one of her excursions. She couldn't stand being at home and she still wasn't talking to her friends.

As she passed the park she saw him and he wasn't alone. He was sitting on a blanket with Eddie Munson.

His hand was on top of his and they were leaning against one another.

And then it happened.

They kissed and all the restraint Max had just vanished.

Something dark was unleashed and she wasn't going to stop it.

“So this is what you've been up to Steve the bullshitter Harrington.

So were you sitting here kissing this long-haired jackass while Billy was being buried?

I mean you said all those sweet words to my brother about loving him no matter what and then you don't even show up for his joke of a funeral put on by my shit face mom and abusive Neil.

But the one thing you wouldn't do is be public. You wouldn't kiss him. You wouldn't hold his hand but you would put him down, insult him and never protect him.

The cabin was Billy’s biggest regret. You of all people should know where that anger came from.

If it wasn't for him you wouldn't be here to kiss this thing's ugly face”

Max said tears streaming down her face. Before Steve could say a word she dashed off leaving and neither Steve nor Eddie could do anything.

July 10, 1985: Broken

Max hadn't been home for two days. She had hidden out in the little alcove she and Billy found the first couple days they lived there.

She was living on the bottle of water and snacks she had two days ago in her bag.

She never wanted to see Harrington or the others again.

Curling up into fetal position Max hummed a song Billy used to sing to her back I'm California and fell asleep.

A few hours later: Healing

Max opened her eyes and felt the warm bed underneath her and sat up startled.

The first thing she saw was Harrington sitting in a chair next to her bed.

He looked asleep and Max started to get up to leave when he said softly

“I won't stop you but I would like ten minutes of your time”.

Max stopped and sat cross-legged on the bed.

“Alright, you deserve some answers.

First, you're right I wasn't there for Billy when he needed me. I knew of the abuse he was suffering and didn't say or do anything.

Second Billy didn't want us to be public due to his fear of Neil finding out.

Third, I should've been at the funeral. I was just hurting way too bad to go.

And the big one, Eddie. That just happened. He was a good listener and we gravitated toward each other.

Max, I loved your brother so much and even if I move forward with Eddie he will always own my heart.

I would love to be your guardian if that's ok with you so you don't feel alone and lost in that house” Steve said, not making any moves.

Silence hung in the air.

“How did you know where to find me?” Max asked, feeling her shell crumbling.

“I don't know. I heard singing. It sounded like Billy so I followed and there you were” Steve said.

And that was that.

She gripped onto Steve and held on tightly. All the anger and hatred sliding away. The pain of losing Billy was still there but the rest dissipated.

One year later: Rebuilding

Steve kept his word and became Max’s legal guardian.

Max reconnected with her friends who were glad to have her back.

She was also Eddie and Steve's biggest cheerleader. Eddie and his uncle had moved in and it felt like a family.

They visited Billy's grave once a week to add flowers and just to keep him up to date.

Max would always mourn what she and Billy could've had but she will always be grateful for the time they did have.

She was also grateful for her new family as well.

Yep! It all could've been avoided! There's a reason a mainstay criticism of many Jex scenes is how contrived they come off as (or actually are).

i've looked into it and it seems like the smoothest way to run a loser's tournament is to have 16 competitors (half of the original 32) this means that i'll have 3 polls each where only the 4 highest voted entries get in, plus the 4 that are otherwise the most voted on top of that. so some of our fallen might remain dead for good 😭 we still love and respect them here forever tho

➳ Katsuki has searched for his favourite black tank top EVERYWHERE.

➳ He could've sworn he put it in his closet, and knowing his nature, he doesn't like to put his things all over the place so it's very unlikely that he misplaced it. 

➳ Guess he has to wear a plain t-shirt for today.

➳ As much as he doesn't want to do it, he has no choice but to ask you for help to search for the piece of clothing.

➳ But when he entered your room without knocking, he wasn't expecting to see you standing in front of your full-length mirror while flexing your arms IN his black tank top. 

➳ The tank top was a bit loose on you, considering the fact you don't have muscles as big as Katsuki so some parts of your underwear are a bit exposed.

➳ When you finally stopped posing in front of your mirror and turned to the door, you almost shrieked and your face flushed in embarrassment. 

➳ Katsuki caught you doing some embarrassing poses in front of the mirror, IN his tank top that you stole secretly from him. 

➳ "Wait- Katsu--it's not- I--," you tried hard to explain but your words vocabulary all disappeared from your brain as soon as you saw him stomping his way towards you.

➳ All of a sudden, he takes off his shirt, showing off his big muscles. You immediately shrieked at the sudden sight and the blush on your face darkened. 

➳ Then, he suddenly slipped his shirt over your head, catching you off guard with the sudden action.

➳ You look at him in confusion. Why did he suddenly make you wear his shirt?

➳ "Cover up, dumbass!"

➳ He then turns away from you to hide his deep reddening face.

➳ He won't admit it, but you look so cute in his tank top, although you were a bit exposed. Thank goodness his rationality acted fast and put you in his t-shirt or else he might've *cough*wolfedyoudown*cough* right there and then.

↬ Shinsou Hitoshi

➳ Hitoshi was helping you clean up your room after a stray cat he had brought in caused a mess in there. (You both don't mind since the cat is cute though.)

➳ While he was tidying up your closet, he found something at the very back of the closet. 

➳ He secretly took it to inspect the thing closer under the light and golly gosh, was he surprised to see what it was.

➳ He decided to pretend to not see anything so that he doesn't appear suspicious. 

➳ That night, you reached your hand to the back of your closet and took out that "something" you've secretly taken from Hitoshi yesterday. 

➳ Before you got the chance to slip into it, a sudden loud cough made your heart stop beating for a moment and you whipped your head only to see Hitoshi arching his eyebrows at you.

➳ "Well, well, what do we have here? A kitten caught red handed stealing huh?" He said as he stares at the shirt you're holding. His shirt to be precise.

➳ You give him a forced smile before slipping into the stolen shirt anyways and sticking your tongue out at him. 

➳ "Well in my defense, I like this shirt too so I stole it from you. Plus I like the smell. It's just like you."

➳ "You could've asked."

➳ "There's no fun in that."

➳ In the end, the both of you ended up cuddling together with you wearing his shirt. He'd totally ask you to wear some of his other clothes next time to take pictures of you in them.

↬ Kirishima Eijirou

➳ Eijirou noticed you constantly hiding something whenever you're about to leave his room after hanging out there.

➳ He tried to look at what you were hiding but you always managed to successfully hide it from him. 

➳ Until one fateful day, you entered his room while unknowingly exposing your own secret.

➳ "Ei, I'm tired, let's cuddle…."

➳ Eijirou blinked his eyes at you in surprise. He didn't know whether it was intentional or not, but you were wearing his orange hoodie that obviously was stolen, right when you're facing him. 

➳ "Y/N, that hoodie..."

➳ He awkwardly pointed at the hoodie you were wearing and when you looked down, sure enough, you were wearing something that was supposed to be a secret from him since you stole it without permission. 

➳ You let out a nervous laugh. Guess you were too tired to be secretive that day.

➳ "Sorry, I stole it from you. I just really liked your clothes since it smells like you. Are you mad?"

➳ "Not at all! If anything, you look cute in them. If you want to wear it, just tell me and I'll lend it to you next time. You don't need to steal them." 

➳ He then gestured his hand for you to come closer and the both of you ended up cuddling together.

➳ It was very comfy plus the scent of Eijirou just doubled since you're wearing his hoodie.
