Gabriel all but crash-landed in the Wagamese front yard. Tom and Roland, who were drawn out by the unusual noise, were shocked to find him at their door at that hour, and even more shocked at the awful news he brought. Without a moment's hesitation, the men of the Smithy mobilized and moved out to look for Annika.
Meanwhile, Marcus had flown over to the Gladwyns' to get Phillip. The red-haired boy was mortified when he heard what had happened, instantly jumping on Marcus' broom to join him in the search. Riding shotgun on the shaky ride had nearly cost him his head last time, but his fear of flying paled in comparison to the fear he felt for Annika's safety.
Soon, half of Wyvern's Bay was out on the streets, searching every corner of the city and surrounding area for the lost girl, calling out her name.
Hidden away in a cave deep in the wild woods, Annika couldn't hear them.

Makes me wonder if any of these devices are familiar to Percy.
Not because he found and walled them off, but because he was tortured in them as a scared teenage boy.
How much of those stains are of his blood?

you know while we're doing all this beautiful meta writing about perc'ahlia because of lovm s2 - and this is not intended to disparage them btw this makes me like them even more - i would just like to remind everyone that in addition to having some of the genuinely best and most romantic moments on this show, they're also the couple that pined for ages and only had the courage to say something to each other about it after one of them died, upon which they:
got together near immediately
broke up a few months later
got together again
had the equivalent of a vegas wedding literally because one of them dared the other and they both refused to back down
(taliesin and laura also didn't remember who made the dare and who said yes because they're both equally likely to do that)
didn't tell anyone they cared about that they got married bc it was too awkward to bring up so they just kept it a secret for months until a god made them say it
and then had a formal wedding a year later because what were they going to do, not throw a huge party and dress up fancy about it? come on.
they have the range, and also they're disasters i love them so fucking much

I do continue to be super salty and annoyed that one of the editors at the CritRole Fandom wiki continues to just... make kind of wild presumptions based on the source material and, at times, misrepresent what the source actually said.

I am nothing short of dumbfounded that the witches - both in and out of character - seemed sincerely surprised that Delilah’s Mme. Lalaurie playroom was HAUNTED AF.

They broke the world for each other.
This one was first published about a month ago on my Patreon. I tried to imagine what kind of portrait would Delilah and Sylas commission a painter to decorate Castle Whitestone have they defeated Vox Machina. I love how they weaponize their sexiness alongside their sheer lack of empathy for everyone but themselves and their evil god to obliterate their enemies. Relationship goals, really.
Sylas and Delilah Briarwood were created by Matthew Mercer and are property of Critical Role.
Available as a print on my InPrnt shop:

Winter's cold began to yield under the gentle touch of a burgeoning spring. The snow, once a pristine blanket of white, surrendered its grip to the inevitable dance of thaw.
The frost now melted away, flowers and greenery shyly emerged from the soil, their vivid colors a promise of new life.

Finished! Oh man, this took me... two months? Three? So long. But the idea wouldn’t let go, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
As I mentioned before I watched bits and pieces of the 1st campaign of Critical Role before going back to the beginning and watching/listening to seriously (I’m now starting episode 74!), but one thing that struck me was the character growth for all these characters?? So good. And these two... oh, these two. I started thinking I wanted them together any way, romantic or platonic (about... 6% of my ships are romantic?), but as time goes by I just love this ship, where it started and where it ends up in the epilogue. Plus... y’now, a couple of slightly bruised souls finding solace in each other 💜
I remember a fic that covers part of Scanlan’s year and a half away in which he gets... self-conscious? (understatement) about his death scars, if only because, well. They have to take up a lot of space on his body, considering what happens to him in “The Deceiver’s Stand”. (I have this headcanon that the scars from wounds that cause death don’t really fade like other scars do. So what these two have gone through left a hell of a mark. Physically, too. Pike knows a lot about scars, the forms they can take, and the weight they can have. And I wanted to explore her side of things from her own passing through death and resurrection.)
Another headcanon I have is that, once the dust has settled and they have to consider mundane things like immediate lodgings and stuff, Scanlan is the only one who doesn’t have anywhere to go back to: Vex and Percy have Whitestone, Keyleth has Zephrah, Pike and Grog have Wilhand’s house in Westruun... which has an attic that could double as a guest room with many a few repairs. It probably looks way too cosy and tidy for what I thought I’d do, but chalk it up to my inability to really clutter a room (unlike irl) 😅 The little frame behind Scanlan isn’t a random castle, by the way, it’s supposed to be Greyskull Keep. Wonder what happened to the place after the end...
Anyway. It’s 11:30PM and I should be in bed, so I’m posting this and hope you like!

Something I'm always fascinated by are the minor mundane things that exist in Exandria. Little objects and inventions here and there that don't play a major role in the stories but just kind of exist in the background.
Early machine guns: Yes, Percy's invention of guns was a major plot point in Campaign 1, but what I'm talking about is how they've changed since then. Percy's guns were flintlock, but by Campaign 3 the guns that Bells Hells encountered in Marquet are caplock, only 30 years later. And because of this, this has allowed for the invention of the Kshatriya Special, Exandria's equivalent of the Gatling Gun!
Phonographs: Called the Audiomatic by its inventor Hazel Copperpot, it uses wax cylinders to record and play back audio, such as her reading of Tary's books. Invented by 826 PD, conceivably these could exist in a more widespread fashion 10 years later by Campaign 2.
Electric lights: Another one of Percy's inventions. Using the acid pits that Ripley left beneath the castle as a battery, Percy was able to create a grid of electric street lamps to light up Whitestone.
Soda: This one's my personal favorite. There's mentions of root beer and sarsaparilla in Campaign 2 that could be chalked up as only jokes, but Explorer's Guide to Wildemount also lists a drink from the Menagerie Coast called Queen's Water as a "soft drink", which often refers to carbonated beverages. Finally, the Ruby of the Sea cocktail from Exquisite Exandria, a book that canonically exists in-universe, uses tonic water!
Theoretically, Percy could go to a cafe in Whitestone at night, order a sarsaparilla, and sit in the outside dining area lit by electric street lamps while the cafe plays a recording of "Jordan, Fetch my Whiskey" on their audiomatic.
