EMMY GRIEF!!!!!!!!!!

this one I really, really do want to complete - but I mostly have some fragments and a great idea: This take place after The Vault, and while Emmanellain and Meryta is broken up, they still find some comfort in each other. It's sad. It has so many Fortemps headcanons.

the starter, because I love it very much:

“I hated him for the longest time, you know?” Meryta almost leaves right there, Emmanellain sitting in his divan, hands in his hair. She came to him for – comfort perhaps, or commiseration. She didn’t come for whatever this is, but she’s not sure she can bear the haunted look in Alpinaud’s eyes either, nor the grief of Edmund. “That’s what Mother taught me,” Emmanellain continues, “but my brother is – was – very hard to hate.”

and a bit later

“Tomorrow I’ll be off, I’m going to kill them all. Thordan, the Heaven’s Ward.” It burns in her. She wants to tear them all apart. No matter the cost. Emmanellain looks forlorn, then his mouth sets. “I should go with you. I should avenge my brother,” his voice almost breaks. “Please don’t go, Emmanellain. It’s not – not everyone has to fight. Not everyone should have to fight.” “He trained me, you know? Said I’d learn to fight eventually. I was never as good as him. I can never be as good as him. Perhaps if – I can’t be him, I can’t. Oh Meryta, girl, he was always so nice, and now! “ She put a finger on his lips. “My Father…” “Your father doesn’t have to decide what you do. He shouldn’t.” she brushes his hair back from his face. “I’ll avenge your brother, I promise. I want you to stay safe.” She doesn’t know what else to do, so she leans in and kisses him. She’s desperate, hungry and ungentle. It’s not fair to Emmanellain, she knows this, she will not, she cannot come back to him, but she needs this now and so does he.

I really love these bits, but unfortunately there's not a lot more. I have thoughts though!

​Thanks for the reply! Yes, I think it's pretty interesting too. :) It's a long theory-meta about Aerea Targaryen and Balerion's unfortunate adventure in Valyria as hinted to in F&B, and what I think the burning "worms with faces" and "snakes with hands" that infested her are. (spoilers: magically mutated descendants of post-Doom Valyrians and dragons, there's more details than that, but that's basically the thing.) It relates to my blood of the dragon theory, goes into the example of the horrific Valyrian colony of Gogossos, and deals with some speculation about future events where I think Dany and her united khalasar of khalasars will travel the demon roads back to the Free Cities and pass the last remaining Valyrian city, Mantarys, said to be inhabited by monsters. (I have some mental images of a sort of Mad Max thing happening there, don't know if it actually will happen but it would be awesome.)

I keep meaning to write up and post the whole thing properly, and only get a few sentences out before getting distracted. But I will get it done eventually!

So Yassen has Alex captive in a cabin somewhere really snowy (Russia? Norway? who knows) and took away Alex's shoes so he can't run. But then Alex isn't going to let that stop him, except his escape attempt does not go as planned...

The plastic bags, the ones he had taped around his socks to make them waterproof, had ripped and torn, and snow had started to get in the wool of the socks. A quick check revealed that his other foot was in the same condition. Alex stared down the path, torn with indecision. He'd already come so far, but what were the odds that he would find somewhere to shelter and warm his feet before they got frozen? He remembered Ian's lessons on surviving in extreme cold: wet clothes could be a death sentence. Maybe he could push through, accept the fact that he would get frostbite in his feet as long as he got to destination, but Alex didn't even know where he was going. It was foolishness to continue. Which left going back, to the cabin and to Yassen. Alex glanced back the way he'd come. His tracks were still there, clear in the moonlight shining through the trees. Would Yassen be awake by the time Alex returned? Would he know Alex had slipped out? The odds were not in his favour, but as cold seeped into his toes, Alex decided he'd rather face Yassen's punishment than dying of exposure when his feet gave out underneath him. At least Yassen had seemed to want him alive. With a dread settling cold in his stomach, and his feet slowly turning numb, Alex started retracing his steps.

I'm curious about Five Weekly Rentals from the wip tag!

Cool! This is the first Stranger Things fic I started to write prior to Vol. 2 dropping.

Years ago when I worked at a video rental place, we got five free titles each week so we would be able to talk with the customers about potential movies they might like. So the idea is that Robin and Steve initially pick out movies for movie nights with the Party (and Joyce, and Hopper). A later chapter has Robin, Steve, and Eddie watching movies together. Then eventually there's a chapter where it's just Eddie and Steve. Watching A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 (notoriously gay horror of the '80s) and talking about sexy shit.

AU Five Fun Facts game: Time travel AU

ONE: It takes them crossing paths four times for Alex to notice that Henry keeps popping up in all the timelines he visits. (Henry, perhaps unsurprisingly, notices Alex straight away.)

TWO: The first time they have a real conversation, Alex notes that he would have known Henry's a time traveller even without having seen him everywhere from 1872 to 2039, just because of the way he speaks. (When he finds out Henry was born in 1997, he chokes on his drink.)

THREE: Alex loves the adventure of it all. Henry is looking for an escape. Henry gives Alex a reason to slow down and appreciate the smaller things; Alex gives Henry something to run towards instead of away from.

FOUR: Henry kisses Alex for the first time in Stonewall, right before Stonewall, full of fury at the world and unable to tell the people around him what will come of that night.

FIVE: Long after they settle down in their own timeline, Alex never stops suggesting that they travel back to one or both of their younger selves and try to initiate a threesome.

this one is another old Solavellan one that I did write a bunch of, and planned and had a whole outline!

I can no longer remember how the idea appeared, but it did, and it was simply Thedas, but make it pirates? The base premise is that Solas gets captured by pirates, and somehow they think he's a good hostage (he's not tho) and they take him with them. There's an immediate attraction between him and the pirate captain.

Ofc; he's not the hapless naturalist civilian he pretends to be, but used to be part of the notorious Evanuris pirates -who betrayed/sold out a bunch of other pirates -with Solas failing to play both sides. He is trying to recover lost treasure, and when he gets captured by Trevelyan and her crew, he tries to modify his plan so they can help him. He didn't account for falling in love with her, of course.

I don't think I'll ever complete it, but I did have fun spinning it in my mind. I did initially try to make it work with Iwyn, but it just didn't suit her. She's far to diplomatic and patient for what I wanted, so Veronica Trevelyan was born for this. I don't think this one would work as an original, as the fun thing was putting all the DA stuff into an AU pirate mirror.

“How did you end up a pirate anyway, Captain Trevelyan?”

He’s bolder, or drunker, and he asks questions he shouldn’t. After everything, he’s surprised to find a whole pirate crew, and a fairly functioning one at that. There aren’t many elves, but maybe the whole thing was worth it, in the end.

“You know, a sad story.” She drinks and passes the bottle. “Fifth daughter of a governor, barely noticed. Ran after a man, he gave his heart to someone else, but he gave me a ship instead.”

“Sounds like it’s quite a story.”

She shrugs.

“It’s a good life. I have what I need, mostly.”

“Do you miss him. The man who spurned you.”

She laughs, high clear.

“It was a childish infatuation. It wouldn’t have ended well. I mean it did, I suppose, given that I’m here. Hawke’s a good man.”

“Captain Hawke is quite infamous, known to harbor dangerous fugitives. I doubt many would call him a good man.”

She snorts, and drinks, and leans against him.

“They know shit. Dangerous fugitives indeed, like runaway noble women.”

“Are you implying you’re not dangerous?”

She turns to him, and smirks. Her eyes are luminous, and her skin reflects the moonlight, the swell of her breasts indecently exposed by her blouse. He swallows.

“What do you think, Solas?”

Their lips meet, crash, inevitable. She grabs his shirt and pulls him closer, prying his mouth open with her quick nib of teeth and probing tongue. Not that he takes much convincing, answering readily in kind. She tastes of brandy and sea and sweetness.

“I think you’re very dangerous indeed, Captain Trevelyan,” he says, when they finally break apart.

“Call me Ron, Solas.”

Good turned evil prompt please 👀 (sounds like AR bingo?)

Yes, this was part of my bingo card until I realise it wasn't really working for me so I asked for a replacement. It's basically Yassen living in retirement only to find his house broken in by an older and harder Alex who wants him to kill someone for him...

The good/evil part of the prompt kind of made me struggle and idk if I'm happy with it but I did like this bit and the idea of Yassen, a thoroughly amoral man, being somewhat disquieted by the change in Alex:

"Hello Alex."

Yassen lowered his gun, flicking the safety back on.

Hard eyes watched him. They were still the same dark brown, still reminded him of Hunter, but Alex had never looked at him like this before. Not even on the roof top when he'd sworn to take his revenge for Ian Rider, or when Yassen found him holding a gun to his head months after that.

The last time he had seen those eyes they had been clouded with pain and exhaustion, Yassen's own vision hazy from the loss of blood. His skin had been warm beneath Yassen's touch, a reminder of the life that was slipping between Yassen's fingers.

Alex wore his hair shorter now. It made him look older, harder. It made him look more like his father. It didn't suit him. Yassen found himself missing the locks of unruly hair that had fallen over his forehead and he squashed the pang of loss at the memory.

"Lost Boys - college AU"? I love your college au so I'm also intrigued by the zsaszlebat WIP!

The title "Lost Boys" is... kind of misleading. It's part of the gotham college AU. The Zsaszlebat is a kinky one-shot of Zsasz and Bruce in the study room of the dorm. "Lost Boys" is a prequel from Fish's POV -- when she meets and adopts Oswald.
