My Seven Friends redesigns c:

This is how they look in my AU/headcanons

Their clothes are inspired by what culture I think they're from based on their names.

Gabo - Spaniard (since Rosa is set somewhere in Spain, I gave him a nicer Spanish tunic. He works in the Castle Kitchens so he shouldn't be able to afford it, but Bazeema made it for him for his birthday)

Hal - North African (gave her a dress because I don't like the trend where the darkest skinned girl is the most masculine)

Safi - Arabian (I didn't really change his clothes to match his culture. He just wears the coziest clothes he can find as long as they don't trigger his allergies. Bazeema is his sister in my hc, and she made his clothes for him to help with his easily irritable skin)

Dahlia - Taiwanese (I didn't change her clothes much, I liked her design. I gave her a bandanna because she placed her hands on top of her head while thinking and doesn't want to get flour in her hair)

Bazeema - Arabian (Bazeema and Safi are siblings, and Bazeema likes to reflect her culture more in her clothing than Safi does. She's a seamstress and works at her mother's shop, and made Safi's clothes for him to help with his allergies and irritable skin)

Simon O'Donohue - Irish (Simon is a Hebrew name, but O'Donohue is derived from an Irish name, and because that's his last name I'm going with that one. Because this is his Knight outfit, its just the one from the movie without any Irish influences)

Dario - German (Dario is an Italian name, but his mother named him that after already arriving at Rosas and seeing others with the name, liking it)

Wish: the power of the Stars - Part 1 - The backstory

(Or otherwise known as some ideas in chronological order that I thought of for a Wish rewrite. I don't intend to write it, I'll just play it and give crumbs of inspiration to anyone who wants to eat it).

This post will be I doubt it in two parts: the first for the backstory and the second for what would be the main story of the film, this way it is shorter and easier to explain.

However, I'm still writing the second part, so things I said here about the characters will remain unanswered as they will be in part two. This first part was just to give context.

Note: there are still errors and nonsense. I explained what I could explain, but it's an unfinished idea, it's all messed up, but I think it deserves to come into the world. Feel free to try to explain the holes in this story, in fact, I invite you to do so!! Have fun!

✨| In this version, the Village of Rosas would be destroyed for some reason. I imagine Mag studying about wish magic, trying to use his own wish to do so, but then failing miserably which would cause the explosion that would destroy a large part of Rosas. Amaya would be helping him with his potions and that's why she would also be to blame for the explosion, I even think she wanted the experiment to be done with her wish, but her beloved husband didn't let her.

✨| They would have children, who unfortunately would die in the explosion, as did Asha's family and Earendel's father.

(who is Earendel??? Starboy, but we'll talk about that in a moment)

✨| Earendel's father was an astrologer who, because he was very close to the stars, managed to communicate with one of them that day and The star told him that he needed to stop Mag. That's what he was going to try to do and that's why he distracted Mag and he failed the spell, causing the explosion.

✨| Magnus and Amaya ended up finding Asha and she was adopted by them. She had just lost her parents. They just lost their children. Makes sense right? They had an instant pain connection! As for Earendel and her mother, they were forced to flee. Mag and Amaya took charge of rebuilding the small village and, to escape blame, they placed all responsibility for the accident on the Astrologer's family, taking advantage of the fact that no one knew they performed magic, but everyone knew that the "Astrologer was a madman who talked to the sky".

✨| Under the command of Amaya and Mag, the village was rebuilt, becoming a city and later a Prosperous Kingdom, with Mag and Amaya being crowned. They were so loved by the people that they received nicknames from "King Magnifico and Queen Adorable" .

✨| Asha, being their daughter, became a princess, but has not yet received an affectionate name for reasons of formality. Some just called her "The Little Princess"

✨| Magnifico I was afraid that another accident might happen, so he banned magic and looked for ways to remove people's deepest desires and hide them forever. In this search, he found his staff — the staff capable of doing just what he wanted, understanding the powers of the people within.

(I forgot to mention that he already had the spellbook. That's his magic study artifact.)

✨| And so the spell ritual was born: When each citizen of Rosas turned 18 (the age at which their inner desires were supposedly already mature within their soul) they must deliver them Wish for the king who would "realize" them.

✨| The truth is that the King never granted a wish out of fear. He would take a look at the person's wish as soon as he collected it and attached it to the staff. Just. So, he told Amaya what people wanted and she used to do spells with potions to hypnotize people and make them feel like their wish had been granted and feel good about it. Obviously she used this hypnosis to give people "talents" , assigning each person who gained this talent a role that was interesting and useful to the king and queen, not because it was what people really wanted. The potion flew to its recipient at night in a bubble and burst in the person's face while they were sleeping. That's why everyone thought wishes were balls.

✨| The desire was trapped in the staff. It was a ceremonial staff. Mag was afraid of desires and their power. He couldn't lose anyone else, so he just performed the ceremony and kept it safe until the next ceremony.

✨| At that time, Earendel and his mother were hiding in the forest, protected by the stars that guided them to safe places where they could build a house, grow food and live. That house becomes the first from a village of "marginals" (people who hired the king and queen and were persecuted for that). In this village there is the wishing tree, as in the original concepts, just saying your wish out loud can attract Mag and Amaya.

(The explosion happened when Asha and Earendel were 4 years old. 14 years have passed and now we move on to the main story)

Reasons I think Magnífico would be thrilled of having a child

I'll try to make this less of a ramble and more organised this time around. So I'll go by stages.

Before the arrival of the child

Pregnancy; if his significant other and himself can have a child this way:

Even if at first he can be joyful of the idea or having an heir if their partner also wants that too, it would probably be such a far away concept, but the moment he sees the bump he'll be amazed.

I can imagine him being with his partner like: wow, you're actually creating something magic can't ever compete with: a life. That's amazing, and your body does it by itself!

And the first time he gets to talk to the bump and the baby responds with movement, Magnífico would be absolutely ecstatic. He wouldn't cease to talk or sing to his partner's belly just to feel or see movement, much to his partner's amusement or tiredness. But he can't help but get a heavy sense of pride in watching their baby react to his voice more than to anyone else's.

He would spend days and nights coming to his partner with suggestions for names until they settle in one they like. I'm thinking he wouldn't want to call a son "Magnífico II" cuz he likes being special, and would want his son to be special too, haha.

If his partner and himself decide to adopt a child:

Magnífico would probably just do it if he feels like it's right. Maybe he gets to know a child that has lost its parents and can't help himself but empathize with them, so he would want to help them to have a better life and decide to take them under his wing and guidance. Depending on their age, the bond would develop either slowly or quickly.

Now, when a baby arrives:

The first time he holds the baby into his arms, he will probably cry. He'll be amazed at how tiny a baby is, and would swear to protect them at all costs 🩵.

He will always be proud of having a baby. Like: this is my child, and everyone must adore him as much as I do, but no one will ever love him as much as I and my partner do. I can picture him holding the baby to introduce them to his kingdom like Rafiki held Simba in the Lion King, LOL.

Magnífico may feel like this is his second chance at having a family like the one he lost, and even if it's not the same, he'd still cherish the opportunity of having a new family.

As much as he and his partner might be stressed about constant crying and both terrified of hurting their baby, they would like whenever the baby cuddles with them, or when the baby gives soft cooes of happiness. Those memories Magnífico will forever cherish.

He would probably try to make a baby mobile for their crib by himself. Not with his bare hands, but with the aid of magic. He'll do something like a modern mobile, but in those years? Absolute magic: maybe a stars and roses themed, or a planet and stars themed, with music and faint lights.

Having a toddler:

Magnífico will absolutely adore seeing a big eyed toddler looking up at him like he's the center of the world. His ego and love will grow so big it might hurt, but he adores talking to an attentive toddler that babbles back in interest of what he's rambling about.

He would feel so good of hearing laughter from his child, so he would be willing to amuse them with magic tricks, feeling prideful like a peacock whenever the child claps at anything they find amusing

Even if he's occupied being king of Rosas, whenever he has time, he'll like to take his child with him and teach him how "important daddy is."

Magnífico would probably read a lot of books to the child. I consider Magnífico to be a bookworm himself, so he would like to teach his kid the same passion for knowledge. Probably would start with fairytales and things to explore and expand the baby's imagination, but then it won't be such a surprise to find him reading out loud books of alchemy, of basic magic or astrology.

Magnífico would find amusing whenever the child is trying to say a complicated word. Like, he knows and can see the baby is trying, but it's just a baby and finds it hilarious to try to replicate a long word only to come up with gibberish.

He would also find it amusing when the child learns to walk. Seeing such a little thing trying to follow his steps as he walks around in his studio will always make him chuckle.

Magnífico loves his child's laughter, and dreads their cries. Whenever he hears them cry, his heart breaks a little and comes in overprotective mode. He would have such a hard time accepting that he can't just protect his child from everything they find scary.

However, I don't think he's good at consolations/reassurance. He would rather distract the attention of the child than just hold them while they cry.

With a child:

Magnífico will like playing around. Like: magic tricks everywhere, playing hide and seek in the gardens. A lot of joyful shrieks and laughter might be heard as Magnífico decides to "terrorise" his child with a wild chase around the castle.

Magnífico will be THRILLED when his child asks him to teach them how to do magic. He wants to have the attention and as well teach his child how to wield magic.

He'll bond a lot with his child by teaching them magic. However, he might be a little impatient if his child doesn't take it seriously. He needs them to understand that magic is both a blessing and a curse, not only to do fairy lights.

His patience might wear too thin in magic related things, but will always try to make amends if he ever crosses a line. Magnífico might not apologise per se cuz he's narcissistic and prideful, but would try to make things right.

He would probably grow fond of pillow fights and tea parties, even if with his partner he tries to act as he's just obliged to comply.

Magnífico doesn't like being questioned, however, understanding that a child doesn't know everything beforehand, he'll do his best to satiate curiosity without ever giving away too many details.

And I'm not going to put how it'll be with a teenager cuz in that stage his relationship with his child would probably become weary.

So that's it. I might come around with some other nonsense, but this is my hot take on Magnífico as a parent.

THE WISHES GIVEN TO KING MAGNIFICO ARE ALL GOOD-INTENTIONED

When reading comments and analysis about Wish, many people assume that some wishes are bad or ill-intentioned. For example someone would say “What if someone’s wish was to kill?”

No, the wishes aren’t like that. This isn’t a post in defense of Asha’s point (though you can easily do so with this), but rather just a clarification for what the wishes given to King Magnifico are. It’s proven in the movie, too.

To start, wishes aren’t just ideas. Killing is an idea. But is it a part of your heart? No. If you were blood-thirsty or something and really wanted to do that, then first- get some help. Second, this is a kids’ movie. Third, Rosas is meant to be a safe haven for those who want to live in such a place. People GO THERE to be safe. If King Magnifico saw that someone really was blood-thirsty, do you really think he’d let them stay there? No.💀 He wouldn’t even look at all the wishes with a loving expression if some of them were actually BAD.

Take the woman’s wish was to fly for example. Talking more about how wishes aren’t just ideas but a part of your heart, it looks like the woman wanted to fly with birds, or just fly in general. Is that really what she wanted from face value? No, I really don’t think so. The flying could be a metaphor for being free, to travel, to experience things… you can interpret it into almost anything! (That’s what Magnifico did which led him to not grant a lot of wishes, but I’ll get into the downside of their given wishes soon). That’s why the woman wasn’t disappointed by the idea of a flying machine. She didn’t want to simply just fly with the birds- she wanted to travel, or experience freedom in the air, or something just as wonderful like those things. I’ll add “Interpretations of Each Wish in Wish” post to my list of other posts I’ve said I’d possibly make.

Oh! And let’s bring up what *Magnifico* said what wishes are. He said that they’re not just ideas, but what else? A part of your heart, but what part?

“They are a part of your heart. The very best part.”

The wishes are all good-intentioned. They mean well and are from the purest, bestest part of a person’s heart. From their soul more to speak. This proves that they aren’t even common wishes either. Like money, for example, people live in Rosas which is a rent-free currency(?)-free kingdom. There is no need for money all that much, so what would be the point in wishing for more money? Go to timestamp 0:20 until 0:30 to prove that the given wishes aren’t just bland.

And some people might say “The movie only shows the good wishes to prove Asha’s point that the people of Rosas are good. There could be bad wishes floating around somewhere.” The people of Rosas aren’t good. No one is just ‘good’. What Asha may of been saying is that the people of Rosas are good-INTENTIONED. A little greedy and ignorant and entitled, admittedly, but they don’t mean any harm. But ‘good-intentioned‘ would just further prove my point that the wishes themselves are good-intentioned.

Besides, if King Magnifico says that the wishes are “everything” and that “they’re the best part of your heart” then we should take his word for it. He has the wishes and knows more about them, so why should we deny that?

Another thing I want to bring up is that just because the wishes are good-intentioned, it doesn’t mean that they can’t be dangerous. A wish could be good-intentioned, but vague- like Sabino’s. A good wish can have consequences almost like a bad wish. It’s more-so a *probability* that a good wish would end up with negative consequences, but a bad wish always ends up with negative consequences.

So my point is that the wishes are all good-intentioned, but some may just be too vague to be considered safe. The people of Rosas don’t seek to cause harm. But they sure are ignorant.

That’s one of the reasons why Magnifico doesn’t grant a lot of wishes. It’s not because some wishes are BAD, it is because some wishes are VAGUE or NOT WELL THOUGHT OUT. Whether or not another reason why he wouldn’t grant a lot of wishes was because he wanted undeniable control and power is up to interpretation. I don’t really care for that bit.

Finally- and this is just a nitpick about the movie- “What about the wish of someone wanting a nanny for their horribly behaved children? Is that really a best part of a person’s heart?”Yeah, that’s a dumb wish. It really downgrades the purpose of the wishes in this case, so I don’t know why Disney would’ve done that. For an easter egg, yeah, but they just underwhelmed their own movie even more with this detail.
