Request: Could I request one about getting back together with Elizabeth after the two of you had broken up? It could be a long time between the breakup and getting back together (like college or so) or a short time.

A/n: Reader is the same age as Lizzie as they dated when they were 18.

It had been a rather quiet day at the coffee shop you own. It was just you and your employee Katie today, helping the occasional customer. You decided to use this quiet time to clean, of course you did some cleaning daily, but today was a good time to do the extra cleaning you usually don’t get to. Katie offered to clean out the storage room in the back while you cleaned behind the counter, all the cabinets were first on your list. When you finished those you moved on to the counter space where all the machines were located. Moving each machine out of the way, you cleaned the counter space that usually wasn’t reachable.

After moving the second machine you hear the little ding of the bell signaling a customer just walked into the shop. You turn around while starting your sentence, “Hi, welcome to Oaks Coffee! How may I..” You stop your sentence once you see who’s standing in front of you. “Liz?” She smiles, “Hi y/n.”

Wow it had been a long time since you’ve last seen Lizzie, you did the math quickly in your head and concluded that it had been almost ten years. You had met Lizzie when you were just seventeen, you both attended Campbell Hall School in California. You had liked her right away and she immediately liked you as well. Which led to you going on a couple dates and dating for about two months before you broke up. Lizzie was going to New York University Tisch School of the Arts to pursue her dreams on the other side of the country, while you stayed in California. Since you had only been dating shortly the most logical thing was to break up.

You never got the chance to tell her you loved her, but to be honest you had never stopped loving her. When you first saw her portray Wanda Maximoff in the end-credits of the movie Captain America: The Winter Soldier all the feelings you though you had gotten over reappeared. You were happy for her, she achieved her dream of becoming an actress. She was part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, one of the biggest movie franchises in the world. She was famous. And now she was standing here in your coffee shop, looking as beautiful as ever.

Elizabeth decided to continue the conversation when you seemed to be at a loss for words. “I was doing an interview here in LA and on my drive over to the location I came across this building and knew I had to check it out on my way back. I remembered that when we used to talk about our dreams you dreamt of opening your own coffee shop and when I asked what you’d call it, you told me Oaks Coffee. You made it! And it has an amazing vibe, it looks incredible y/n.”

She remembered. She remembered the days you would talk about your hopes and dreams in live, even down to the specifics of what you’d name the coffee shop of your dreams. “I’m not the only one that made it.” You say with a genuine smile. “You’ve got to add lots of amazing movies and shows to your filmography. I mean you’re a part of the MCU, that’s amazing. But your performance as Leigh Shaw in Sorry for Your Loss has to be my favorite!” A slight blush forms on Lizzie’s cheeks, you’ve been keeping up with her work as an actress.

“Can I get you anything Liz? On the house of course.” She looks at your menu and smile when her eyes fall on a specific drink, the drink that she ordered for you many times all those years ago. “I’ll have two number sixes please, if you have time to catch up?” Was it a coincidence or did she remember your favorite drink?

You get the coffee’s ready and join Lizzie at the table. You fall into conversation easily, catching up on lost time and reminiscing the moments you shared together in your youth. When the bell at the door dings again you look up to see one of your regulars. “Margret, hi! How are you today?” You ask after getting up and excusing yourself for a moment.

The old lady happily greats you, “Oh, I’m doing just fine, sweetheart. How’s business today?” You tell her it has been slow, but you’ve got plenty of cleaning to be done. “And what about the pretty woman you were sitting with?” You look over to Elizabeth who was watching the exchange between you and your regular with a big smile, she always loved how kind you were to others. “She is…an old friend.” You settle on, not wanting to explain your past with Lizzie too much. “Hm just an old friend, huh.” Margret teases you when she sees you cheeks redden while you think of the woman. “Whatever your relation to her is, I think you should definitely ask her out. You’re both looking at each other with too much love in your eyes to just stay friends.”

How did she just look right through you? Wait did she say both, was Lizzie looking at you with love in her eyes? The thoughts keep running through your mind as you make Margret her regular order of a number two with a blueberry muffin. After you bring Margret her coffee and muffin you walk back over to Lizzie. “That was Margret, she was my very first customer when I opened the store and has come to get a coffee here every single week since.” You say. “She seems very sweet.”

You continue your conversation where you left off. After a while Lizzie’s alarm on her phone goes off. She stops it and starts getting her things together. “I have a meeting on the other side of town in a bit. So, I have to go, sadly.” After she gets up she asks, “Can I see you again? Maybe dinner tonight?”

Your heart starts beating faster, “Yes, I’d love that.” You exchange numbers and Elizabeth is on her way. As soon as she leaves the door, Margret cheers. “You’ve got a date with the pretty woman.” You laugh at her, she was the best regular to ever have. Katie heard the cheering and joined back in the front of the store to tease you about your date. Maybe it wasn’t even a date, but that didn’t matter. At least Lizzie was back in your life. Your phone dings, it’s a message from Lizzie.

Lizzie: I never specified, but I would like tonight to be a date. You: It’s a date :)

why are people genuinely so flabbergasted when I tell them dinosaurs never went extinct ☹️☹️

Like what do you mean you didn’t know that dinosaurs as we know them (non avian dinosaurs) never fully went extinct? I mean obviously the bigger animals of the late Cretaceous went extinct after the KT mass extinction event, for example the T.rex, the Triceratops, all of the sauropods, ect. But where do you think the birds came from? They very clearly evolved from smaller non avian dinosaurs more closely related (both taxonomically and by appearance) to birds like I mean if you just look at some birds of prey it’s super obvious

(above is a real image of a bearded vulture, or a Gypaetus barbatus, I unfortunately cannot find who took this picture)

(And above are 2 depictions of a velociraptor, neither source listed the artists that made this drawing/3d model)

it’s very clear the similarity between the 2, but appearance doesn’t prove anything, really we should look at the differences in the wings. A maniraptorian hand shows 3 fingers that later fused to be more like 2 fingers when seeing something like a chicken or dove wing

Ive loved dinosaurs since I was 4 and only recently starting researching/studying them (2 years) any dinosaur nerd could explain this better than me but I can keep trying as I do want people to know this.

I’m gonna try describing how non avian dinosaurs evolved to be avian, to the furthest of my knowledge at least.

the KT extinction happens, obviously sending a ~7 mile asteroid towards the earth, and the earth goes into an apocalypse type climate, having the surface of the earth be scorching and almost instantly killing almost all plant life. About only seeds, grain, small insects, and the very few remaining dinosaurs were left from this.(wow this sounds a whole lot like most avian diets today huh?)

because the plants died out, ~ all of the herbivores died, because all the herbivores died, all the big carnivores died, because all the big carnivores died, literally everything else is thriving. (not exactly thriving, but surviving ig) while eating seeds and small insects to stay alive, the small carnivores and the birds that have already evolved by that point became even more bird like by evolving more developed beaks to replace teeth, loosing their hand claws as they had no use for them anymore, and losing their bony tails. Therefore evolving into birds that today still have the same diet

What��s one thing you noticed/realized about this episode that you hadn’t before?

At first I wondered why no one pointed out Arisa having been to the restaurant before based on this picture we see on the wall, but I realized later that since Marcello's mom is in the picture, it's quite possible this was taken during a trip to Italy and that this isn't the same restaurant in the picture.

Just a translation note, I wonder why the Crunchyroll translator went with calling the dish "squid fritters" instead of "fried calamari"? I can't say I've ever heard this dish called "squid fritters". I know Ran uses the term "fritter", but I thought Crunchyroll tended to do more localization style translations. Maybe not?

On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate this episode?

For the fact it actually made me cry which is an emotion I don't usually have watching Conan I'll give it a 7.

I wanted to say that your fics are really cute and well-written! Could you do one where Kate is new at the compound and kinda have a hard time adjusting even if everyone is kind to her. Basically she talks to everyone but is kinda intimidated by Wanda because of her powers but at the same time she really wants to get to know her because they haven't really discussed before and also because Kate was a fan of Wanda when she was younger? With fluff tickles ?

Although Kate was new to the compound, she was able to make new friends and become more comfortable with the other Avengers. At first, she mostly stayed near Clint and Natasha, while tagging along next to Yelena every so often. What she didn’t expect was for her to become friends with a witch with insane powers.

Kate had been a little scared of Wanda at first. Partly due to the fact that she was new, but also because Wanda was so powerful. However, Kate admired the witch ever since she was young, wanting to be as skilled and powerful as she was.

While Kate and Wanda were already past the stage of becoming friends, Kate still wanted to learn so much from the witch. Specifically, she wanted to experience what it was like to fly, but was too shy and scared to ask the witch.

Meanwhile, Wanda was relaxing on the couch in the living room, watching TV. Kate nervously walked over, taking a seat next to the witch.

“Oh hey Kate! Nice to see you!” Wanda said cheerfully.

“Hey Wanda, it’s nice to see you too!” Kate replied, as her mind was still racing to find a way to bring up the topic of flying.

Wanda was currently watching a show where tourists went around trying different foods. They were now flying in a helicopter to a secluded island to try a secret restaurant that not many people knew about.

“Wow, that view looks amazing,” Kate said in awe.

“Tell me about it. The views from up where I’m flying are incredible!” Wanda exclaimed, as she caught the sparkle that lit up Kate’s eyes.

Kate looked around sheepishly, knowing that this was the perfect time to ask the witch to teach her how to fly. Or at least experience what it’s like.

Wanda ended up reading her mind anyway, a fond smile growing on her face.

“Why didn’t you just ask me if you wanted to experience what flying was like?” Wanda questioned, now sitting up to face the young girl.

“Oh, well, I wasn’t sure if we were on that level of friendship where I could ask that,” Kate replied.

“Kate, I know you had a hard time adjusting at first, but trust me, we are definitely friends,” Wanda reassured the archer.

“So, you want to know what it’s like to fly?” Wanda asked, while using her powers to lift the brunette into the air.

“Woah, this is so cool! I can’t believe you get to do this all the time!” Kate exclaimed, taking in her surroundings. Even though there wasn't much scenery since it was just the compound, it was interesting to see it from a different point of view.

“You’re not afraid of heights, are you?” Wanda questioned, while lifting the girl higher.

Kate didn’t respond, but just grinned like a little kid, fascinated by her experience of flying.

“Okay, I think that’s enough flying for now, but thank you for the experience!” Kate said happily. However, her grin slowly faded away, as a grin was now forming on Wanda’s face.

“You know Kate, I think there’s also another thing that you would like to experience as well,” Wanda commented with a smirk.

Before Kate could ask any questions, she felt herself still floating in the air, yet she couldn’t move her arms or legs.

Kate now looked down at the witch with a worried expression on her face.

“I don’t think you’ve ever experienced being tickled while flying,” Wanda commented, now flying up herself to meet the younger girl at eye-level.

“Wait what?” Kate cried, trying to free her arms and legs to no avail.

Wanda wiggled her fingers threateningly at the young girl, causing her to try and squirm, all while giggling in anticipation.

“No! Please don’t tickle me!” Kate cried, as panic built up inside of her.

“Oh but Kate, isn’t that what friends do to each other?” Wanda teased, as she began to wiggle her fingers into Kate’s armpits.

“NOHOHOHOHO STAHAHAHAP IHIHIT,” Kate laughed out, unable to lower her arms to protect herself.

“Awww, Kate you’re so ticklish! Why didn’t you tell me earlier?” Wanda questioned teasingly.

“BEHEHECAUSE YOHOHOHOU WOHOHOULD TIHIHCKLE MEHEHE,” Kate squealed out, as Wanda wiggled her nails against her ribs softly.

“Ah, I see I found another good spot,” Wanda commented, while adding some of her magic that caused a ticklish sensation on Kate’s stomach.

“AHAHAHAHAHA NOHOHOHO IHIHIH CAHAHAN’T STAHAHAHAND IHIHIHIT,” Kate screamed, as Wanda lowered herself to tickle Kate’s feet.

The brunette desperately tried to kick her legs, but all she felt was Wanda’s long nails raking over her sensitive soles.

“YOHOHOU AHAHAHRE SUHUHCH AHAHAHAH JEHEHEHERK,” Kate shouted, trying to sound threatening.

Wanda didn’t say anything in response. Instead, she just increased the ticklish sensation that was currently on Kate’s stomach, causing the young girl to lose her mind.

“NOHOHOHO OHOHOKAY IHIHIHM SOHOHORRY IHIHI DIHIHIDNT MEHEHEHEAN THAHAHAT,” Kate screamed out, desperate to escape.

“Oh Kate, you’re just too ticklish for your own good,” Wanda sighed, as she began to knead at her hips.

“PLEHEHEHASE STAHAHAHAP IHIHI’LL DOHOHOHO ANYTHIHIHING,” Kate pleaded.

“Anything?” Wanda questioned, still tickling the girl to pieces.

“YEHEHEHEHES PLEHEHEHASE STAHAHAP,” Kate screamed, as her cheeks were fully flushed red from all the tickling.

“Okay, I’ll stop tickling you if you promise to not be scared of asking me questions and if you fully accept that we’re friends,” Wanda said with a grin.

“FIHIHIHINE OHOHKAY STAHAHAHP,” Kate cried, as the torturous sensations finally stopped, and she was freed from Wanda’s powers.

“How was that flying experience?” Wanda asked teasingly, as the brunette was now on the couch, lying down and trying to catch her breath.

“It was good until you ruined it,” Kate said, while rolling her eyes.

“Oh really?” Wanda asked, reaching down to wiggle a single finger into Kate’s belly button.

“WAHAHAIT IHIHI TAHAHAKE IHIHIT BAHAHACK,” Kate immediately surrendered.

“Good. That’s what I thought,” Wanda said in response.

The witch came over towards Kate, this time not to tickle her, but to wrap her in a warm, friendly hug.

Kate leaned into her embrace, happy that she could say she was friends with a witch that she admired from a young age.

Wanda felt her heart swell with pride, as she was so proud of how far the young archer had come. Adjusting to a new group of people was never easy, but she was impressed by how Kate had handled all the pressure and new experiences.

The two of them both knew that this had brought them closer together, and that there were many more memories full of laughter to be made in the future.
