Accepting the Present + Difficult Times

Having a stylized version of how the human experience should be can negatively affect how you live your life.

It completely gets rid of the fact that we go through difficult emotions and that we work hard for the experiences we want. They aren’t served to us on a platter. Life is what you make it, I guess..

But everything is so carefully curated on the media that you just want to daydream yourself away, believing that you’ll get there without the work.

And even if we’re already putting in the work, ads tend to make us feel like we’re not doing enough! People really go to school to manipulate the masses, LOL.

All we can do is surrender to the fact that this is all we can do and allow ourselves to slow down when we're low battery. This is the moment we're living in, and now we have to play an active role in deciding what we do next.

Hi all! Another month, another collab :) As usual, this month's collab isn't a "half set here & the other half there" type collab. SimspirationBuilds, Hel Studio and I worked together towards creating content that can all be seamlessly working in one build, made by SimspirationBuilds. Both parts of the collab are full sets in themselves but will go very nicely together. ♥ You can find @simspirationbuilds & Hel Studio's part of the collab on her patreon. I just enjoyed sharing ideas and creating this bedroom so much! Working with these 2 amazing humans is always such a pleasure!

Now, regarding my set :) Gaios is a beautiful wabi-sabi inspired bedroom, with a modern touch. It includes 18 new meshes; a functional bed & beddings, some rustic open doors, a vanity desk & pouf, lighting (in 3 heights) & some clutter as well. I also took the liberty to add matching limewashed floor & walls for a more minimal and seamless look!

We’d like to thank @ibasho___gallery and @sieboldhuis for thinking on us to be part of the Wabi-Sabi exhibition @sieboldhuis starting on 23 September. Japanese definitions of beauty have been developed over many generations. Japan has focused on the natural world adopting a sensitivity to and appreciation for nature. The Japanese have developed a distinct sense of aesthetics to depict different kinds of beauty, and among them we find the concepts wabi and sabi. After the Heian period, during the Medieval Times and inspired by Buddhism a new set of aesthetic values are developed centered in “the lack/absence of apparent external beauty”, discovering “another new beauty”, more elevated and sober based on simplicity, nature, impermanence, poverty, imperfection, coldness. Wabi means “poverty.” To be poor, that is, not dependent on things worldly and yet to feel inwardly the presence of something of the highest value. Wabi is to be satisfied with a little hut, like the log cabin of Thoreau, to stay content with the contemplation of Nature. Sabi literally means “loneliness.” Sabi consists in rustic imperfection. In poetry Sabi stands for “austere and solitary beauty.” Sabi suggests the passing of time and the patina this passing produces in the worldly things destined to vanish. Wabi sabi represents rustic and desolate beauty that correlates with a dark, bleak beauty that can be easily overlooked; but that it can be found everywhere: such as a small worn-down hut hidden in the forest, the shy first green sprouts fighting their way out in the snow in a high-mountain village. Wabi sabi is linked with a discreet beauty in the colourless, the old, and the fragile. In short, the beauty of a cold, bleak, solitary, wintry landscape that is used as a symbol representing and suggesting the impermanence of men. We could say that new aesthetics places us on the way to an imperfect beauty that leads us directly to the infinite beauty.

I built this for a single rich male celebrity and really wanted to create a clean, moody and modern home. I was really inspired by the “wabi sabi” aesthetic. I built this a few months ago so I definitely would change somethings because I have more cc that would fit this aesthetic but I still love this build and wanted to show it ☺️.

This month I had a pleasure of working together with my dear @sundays-sims and Hel Studio to bring you this unique collection of furniture and deco items inspired by the imperfect and raw aesthetics of wabi sabi style and inviting warmth of Mediterranean interiors! 

As always, this project isn't a "half set here & half set there"-type collaboration. We've worked together towards creating full sets in themselves that interact and can seamlessly work together in one build at the same time (as shown in previews)! ♡

Me and Hel together have created 35+ new items for you to enjoy (see the last two photos that showcase all items you will get from us), while Sundays have worked on a stunning bedroom set which includes 18 new pieces - all available for Early Access on her patreon page!
