I was listening to the song "Bring Me to Life" by Evanescence & the song's lyrics just clicked in my head. I went to read what the song is written about & it's about a cry for help. Amy Lee wrote most the album Fallen about her experience in a domestic violent relationship. I listened to the song a few more times & it just clicked even more. When I left my abuser; the first thing I did was reach out to my childhood best friend, who I hadn't spoken to in 10 years. I knew that was the only way I was going to finally leave. His support is what woke me up. It's what kept me from going back. The lyrics in this song about being "numb", or "without a soul" is what being in a domestic violent relationship feels like. You're left feeling disorientated until you just feel "dead". I lost everything about myself during that time. It was my best friend who helped me find myself again & he opened my eyes. I'm not even sure if he realizes what he really did for me. It was because of him & our other friend that brought me "back to life". I needed that at that point in time. I am forever grateful for him & his support. I used Sora & Kairi as characters in the video because our relationship has always been very similar to theirs. This also goes along with my Hikari University series. This is a recreation of the music video by Evanescence.
