Zelda chose a shield rather than a heart or a gem. I was still too young to read or understand why, but her decision moved me more than words ever could

What do you do to stave off the repetitive bore of work?
"life advice ?" — entry 4
thinking about it, in all honesty, i'm too busy thinking about other things to actually bother with counting the minutes.
whenever i get home from school, maybe around 4pm-ish ? i then take the bus over to work. i missed being able to make my daily commute by foot.
but enough of that, while i'm stocking up supplies or ringing up people by the cashier or trying to direct someone to some niche isle, i'm always caught up in something else. moreso of a recent phenomenon, but even when i was younger, all i wanted to do was just draw.
i was always a good kid back in school i swear ! actually, when i was young, people didn't mind me doodling. only whenever i got up into high school it was just looked down upon. something something immature but i don't think it's that !
oh wait what were we talking about again?
okay. to be honest, i just distract myself mostly. kinda like, i'm there but not really i suppose. music helps whenever you're making, i dunno, eleven dollars an hour stocking up dry cat food for a part-time living ?

baby crestie bin is complete 🥺
it is roughly the same size as a ten gallon, which is what the baby is kept in now. It is slightly wider and taller, but not as long as a ten gallon. Paper towel is being used as substrate while the gecko is new to me to monitor health and eating. furnished with Thordak's hand me downs which I gave a good scrub to. Decorating this small of a space is... hard I wont lie. I wanted to include a humid hide, a feeding platform, and a bunch of vines while still having some open space for them to practice jumping and build up strength that way. I plan to add some pieces of bamboo yet to climb, but I'll likely hold off on that until after they have arrived. Long term I want to add more enrichment but I kind of want to keep it simple for now so I can keep a good eye on them- while still giving them numerous hiding spaces to feel secure.
Feel free to give advice btw- this is my first time caring for a baby gecko, although I have cared for an adult crested and leopard for several years now :)

With the importance of Cap Up Chocolate Chocolate Bar the District of Columbia just passed Initiative 81 for Magic Mushrooms to be Legal. Which makes entheogenic plants like psilocybin (magic mushrooms) and ayahuasca the lowest priority for law enforcement. What to know before you get gifted Psilocybin Chocolate Bars is delicious. And perfect for many occasions while traveling to Washington DC. Whether planning a museum tour with a friend, checking out the D.C. monuments, hosting a brunch party. Every single time there is a catastrophic flood (so, every six weeks or so) the news will post pictures of people out in their kayaks or canoes pretending its Venice without any commentary and it makes me completely insane. This is dangerous and people die doing it.
Do not go into the floodwater unless the risk of staying where you are is somehow greater than the risk of going in the floodwater. Do not get in the floodwater except as a last resort.
The water itself is bad news (raw sewage, fire ants, industrial runoff) but the danger here is in the movement of the water: water flowing down a street has currents. Sometimes you can see them and sometimes you can't. 12 inches of water can move a car. What do you think a few feet will do to you in your dinky little sit-on-top if you get tired? Who is coming to rescue you if the water starts taking you somewhere you don't want to be?
Visibility in floodwater is shit. You cannot see obstacles (submerged cars, mailboxes, trashcans, etc). Trees and fences will become strainers (imagine pouring pasta into a colander. Now imagine you are the pasta and the force of constantly moving water is holding you in place). If you come out of your vessel you could potentially encounter open manholes or storm drains that suck people in (a lot of water draining through them creates powerful suction!!). People walking in floodwaters regularly step off a curb and are suddenly immersed in moving water well over their head.
Somehow, despite all this, these people NEVER have LIFEJACKETS on!! You own a boat but not a lifejacket?? Not that a lifejacket would make this a good idea, but if you are forced to abandon your home/car/whatever and get in the water a lifejacket might very well SAVE YOUR LIFE.
Look at a picture of professional swiftwater rescuers operating in a flood situation. They have on lifejackets, drysuits, helmets, boots, and a shit ton of gear. You are in a two-piece bathing suit and a shitty walmart paddleboard. DON'T BE STUPID. IT'S NOT WORTH IT.
sorry for the all caps lecture but one drowning is too many.

Wally loves physical contact, I’d like to think it’s one of his love languages alongside quality time and words of affirmation, but mainly he adores hand holding; Sure it felt like holding a styrofoam packing peanut made of felt but it’s reassuring and grounding for the both of you.
Bonus points: he fiddles with your fingers when hes in need of something to fidget.
Wally hates, hates, hates crowded areas.
This is based on what clown said about Wally going to Walmart and immediately wanting to leave.
(This maybe a bit projecting on my half) He gets overwhelmed easily despite how self assured he is. That’s just his mask and he truly hates being overwhelmed whilst in a crowded room.
Let’s say for example he goes to see a theatre but sees how loud and crowded the room is with families, and suddenly Wally doesn’t seem all that up to watching the pantomime anymore and would rather watch a prerecorded one at home where it’s less chaotic.
It’s too much for Wally. It drains him and leaves him wanting compensation cuddles or to be left on his own if he’s not feeling up to being touched after that.
(I work in catering for a local theatre and let me tell ya…when shows are on…it’s honestly too much. Too crowded, too loud for me and all I want to do is go home. Thankfully it’s few and far between cuz when they’re on, i’ve already done my shift.)
Painting, drawing, sketching is Wally’s therapeutic outlet. Something he does not only as a favoured pastime but more so as an healthy method to expressing his inner most feelings because after all, art is about expressing your innermost thoughts. So being the main star brought about a ton of weight for Wally to uphold an image of perfection; which is only made worse the longer he’s forced to act in opposite of what he’s actually like.
There’s a reason why his well known place beneath a tree and -probably- away from the rest of bubbly town of welcome.
Likes to frame any and all art done by you on the walls of his home, even if it’s shit, it’s already up on the wall because Wally loves your artistic approach to things…especially that weird lump that’s supposed to be a dog…you’ve made an attempt and that’s all Wally gives a shit about. (This goes out to my fellow people who aren’t as artistically gifted.)
Wally is your personal hype puppet. He’s so encouraging in whatever you do but please maybe don’t attempt in climbing up house and using him as a jumping off point and into the pool below…please do anything except that. He’s willing to indulge you in apple picking, water balloon fights -as long as his pompadour is covered by a shower cap or something- but not to the extent where you could injure yourself.
Wally probably doesn’t understand what injuries are but let me live and say that even if you do injure yourself, he’s got the cutest array of bandages, plasters and the like as he stands before you like;
Wally: do you want the hello kitty plaster or the moshi monsters ones? 🤨🧐
You: hello kitty plz 🥺🤕
