#its crazy how people will assume she is all the tropes she subverts and then ignore her #also how sympathy for circle mages’ indoctrination only lasts until they get old i guess and then fuck them #because its not as if they were ever a terrified child who’d never had anything better than a single templar’s mildest kindness and any kind #of home even if it was the tower #so an orphan kid who had no memory of anything but scurrying between farmsteads and hiding in barns #didnt want to leave. what a shock. you guys dont get the place comfort has in keeping circle mages complicit #so it’s violent and terrible and you never have privacy and your children get murdered and you’re always watched and hated #its also a warm bed and community and a chance to succeed #do you honestly think every kid from fucking THEDAS knows theres anything better out there #that doesnt make the circle good. it makes it horrific that they prey on vulnerable kids to teach them the world hates them #and only the circle is ‘safe’#i just think there should be some sympathy for those kids and what they grow up into #its easy for the player to walk in and say their character would hate the circle and never have listened to the templars #its easy for say an amell or even a surana with a family back home to not fear what they left behind #wynne genuinely thinks without the circle mages would all be murdered and she’ll fight and die protecting her fellow mages #from the right of annulment #yes its a flaw that she goes on to teach others the circle must be tolerated and that is precisely how the circle is perpetuated ove #over generations #but its amazing to me to just act like its her fault #well. this is more tags than i expected it to be

now that its cold again and i am, once again, too cheap to turn on the heat in my apartment, i am back in my allen era...

"but why won't you turn on the heat?" he asks, confusion laced into his question. it's not out of place, his inability to understand your logic.

mostly because you don't want to tell him your plan.

hanging out at allen's small apartment is always cold and you always sneak in a way to have his arms wrapped around you. but lately, ever since his stove stopped working and the landlord's taking his sweet time to fix it, you've been spending time at your place.

allen's not good at initiating cuddle times - it's awkward and straining for him to ask for the affection you'll freely give and you can be stunted too, in making the moves that are sometimes needed to push you both.

so, after lavi's suggestion, you decided to let the heaters stay turned off, because this will make sure that you're cuddled up for warmth shortly after dinner. it's a secure deal.

except, allen won't stop asking questions.

he does it out of worry. are you short on money? did the heater break and you dont know how to fix it? are you suddenly self-conscious about his choice of letting it stay off for as long as possible? should he take an extra shift at work to help you replace it?

you try to shrug off his question again, wiping down the countertop after dinner and deflecting, "should we continue 90 days fiance tonight?"

(allen's official stance will always be that reality tv like that is staged and shallow - but that won't stop him from being dramatically invested in the bad choices of these people desperate for love.)

he huffs out a breath and lets his shoulders sag. then, he shakes his head and reaches out for your hands.

with both of his. a recent development you've been more than thrilled about - yet you're too afraid it will make him uncomfortable to mention it.

you squeeze his and muster up the most nonchalant expression you can before you lean in close and talk before he can ask another question, "we can bring the duvet and bedcover into the livingroom with us."

if you think it's rude that he rolls his eyes at you, you don't say it out loud. instead, you inhale sharply before you kiss him. he grunts unexpectedly - he loves kissing you, feeling the shape and warmth of your lips, but he's not used to it yet.

he sighs and locks eyes with you, "you promise everything's okay?"

you laugh and swat his shoulder, "yes."

he eyes you for a moment like he sometimes eyes kanda when his definitely-not-friend-but-also-close-friend says something suspiciously kind to him.

you kiss him again, "it's embarassing to say out loud but i promise that my intentions are good and that there literally isn't any issues. can you please be a good boyfriend and come cuddle with me now?"

he thinks it's underhanded, how you use the term boyfriend, fully aware of how flustered it makes him. you smile victoriously before you grab onto his left hand and drags him into the living room, caressing his scarred skin with your thumb all the way. you can't wait to be covered in blankets, duvets and the scent of him for the rest of the evening, listening to him revert to his rude speech pattern as the people on screen makes the worst choices or says the worst things publicly. it's still early, but you think you love him.

I need a completely rewritten teen wolf series with Derek Hale as the main character. I think it would heal me.

#we follow Derek from New York. Laura left for beacon hills. it’s been six years since he was back but he hasn’t heard from her #and hes going stir crazy waiting. he packs up and travels back. it’s almost too much immediately. he still can’t get a hold of Laura #he can’t resist going home. it’s like a natural pull that guides him back. all at once he’s 16 again. staring at the wreckage of his life #deputy stilinski is sherrif now. it’s reassuring in the slightest that the police force seems to have moved on from how corrupt it was #he catches her scent and it’s putrid. bile catches in his throat. he seeks it out. still in denial to what he knows it means.#when he finds Laura it’s like the world ends all over again. he can’t stand to see her like this. he gives her a proper burial.#the best he can do at least #he visits Peter. he’s not the man Derek remembers- so full of fire and cunning. their relationship may have been strained at times.#often Derek felt more like Eve being swayed by the snake than a normal friendship #but this isn’t the sharp tongued uncle who guided him. this is a broken shell. all that remained of his family. he was so lost.#22 but he barely knew how to function without his family- his pack paving the way #Laura handled everything. she got the apartment. she made sure they had food. Kate. why would she go through the trouble six years later. why wait so long.#Derek couldn’t stomach the thought of facing her. he focused on the woods. the scents were all over the place.#clearly multiple people had been through here recently. two scents were much stronger. Derek follows them #but when he hears the crunch of leaves he realizes why the scents are so strong. they’re still here #he ducks behind some trees. listening in on their conversation. but an echo of their scent catches his attention #he spots an inhaler on the ground. he puts two and two together and swipes it from the leaves.#he comes out once they’re closer. tossing over the inhaler- he figures they’ll leave. dumb kids messing around in the woods #he reminds them this is private property. though that may not be true anymore. he recognizes the scent of a new beta. interesting.

yessss!!! since my move is fast approaching, i've been yearning deeply for the giant trees and fresh air and fog and moss and ocean of the pnw. i really want to make some pieces of my WIP dragon character soaring through the pines or searching for mushrooms in the undergrowth as soon as i'm done with it. ...honestly, i'd LOVE to do a paint over with some cool PNW photography in particular. here's one i've wishfully made my phone wallpaper, via j-k-i-n-g

The way me and my sister have completely opposed taste for almost everything: she's buying forniture for her home and she wants my help, but she want her house to be industrial and modern and it's so cold for me I can't🙃

#strawbebies??#halo my love are you okay??#everyone clap i spent the last 4 hours totally offline 👍 <- was playing sims #(game is going well in case you're wondering)#(yes i am still building jorgen and mona's house. it took me a while to get everything exactly right)#(we are decorating now FINALLY)#it's been 4 days yes i know. listen. i take this seriously #no they are not my active family. they are simply my Sims's besties #yes im aware i will spend very little time inside their house. so what. i want my friends to have pretty and luxurious homes #the helvigs are living GOOD. got them a little inside pool and all #because why not #it pains me to make it all celebrity white minimalism but i gotta stay true to them.#the Scandinavian architecture does make it a lot better. nice warm wood accents and floors to make it less sterile #still. i gave them the most obnoxious wood centre table for the main living room and put exactly one (1) single flower there #i don't mind minimalism but this is too much uhg. i hate how vogue catalog this is turning out #ngl i am very seriously considering getting a minor only degree in interior design. like. I'm halfway there already #ANYWAYS. how is everyone? all we are alive still? facing the horrors? being brave?

the thing about the translation state trio that drives me absolutely screaming-crying-biting-something crazy is that none of them are used to having friends???? like enae mentions some friendship candidates in the past that hir grandmaman did not approve of, but sie is so excited and nervous about caphing's pointless messages and the prospect of a potential friend?? that's not how someone used to stable friendships reacts to the tiniest bit of positive social interaction!! and then qven had people(?) e interacted with but none e ever felt safe around??? that honestly makes me want to punch something!!! and reed... well reed feels like he doesn't fit in with anyone anywhere and seems convinced that he is rather unpleasant to be around, so that speaks for itself i think (and I have THOUGHTS and FEELINGS about this) >:(

but then they all go through their own journeys and they meet and become friends with each other and with other people (spheeeene and caphing for instance and reet's parents (well they pretty much become qven's parents too, regardless of the whole matching situation, but i like to think that they have enae over for coffee regularly or maybe enae invites them to the peony room?))

the amount of surprised pika “wait people actually shave their arms?” comments on posts about body hair are so funny like I unironically am so happy for you that you weren’t laughed at by a classmate for having hairy arms “like a man” in like 4th grade this is why I wish body hair conversations would stop centering around armpit hair

#okay that’s the tldr but the way I actually remember it is that the classmate (a boy) pointed out my arm hair and ask why so hairy #and I genuinely was so confused I was just like idk??? and then later at home that day I asked my mom about it and she was like #It’s bc your dads side of the family is hairy so then I later talked to that guy again like ‘I take after my dad’ or whatever #And /then/ is when he laughed and was like ‘but you’re a girl’ about it #Granted I’m non-binary but like I didn’t know that in elementary #Plus I didn’t stop shaving until around mid 2010s and was still self conscious about it for years #Like I remember feeling embarrassed during college (2018ish) if I had to use the rest room and someone else was in there when I would roll #My sleeves up to wash my hands #Anyways I eventually stopped caring about it sometime within the last year or 2 but see how long that took? It really shouldnt #Like some of us just genetically have more darker thicker visible body hair than others and we shouldn’t be shamed for it #One thing at a time though because even I’m still working through leg hair shame #I don’t shave them anymore but I also haven’t worn shorts outside of my bedroom in years #I’ll literally switch into shorts if it’s too hot right before bed and switch back into pants before stepping out of my room in the morning #I’ve been feeling cute the past few days and it’s starting to warm up again plus also had a convo w mom recently so #I might change that soon but only within the house still bc baby steps <3 #Anyways I’m just rambling now so I should stop. Good night !!
