Airships & Arcana: A Dieselpunk Campaign for the World's Greatest Roleplaying Game
SYSTEM: Homebrew DnD 5e PLATFORM: Discord DATE/TIMES: Play by Post PARTY SIZE: 4 or 5 players would be ideal
In the grim past of the 20th century, there is only war.
Two decades ago, the Empire of Germania won the Weltkrieg, the Great War, since then revolutions and social upheaval have rocked the world as we knew it; advanced technology such as airships and gigantic mecha and ancient powers of magic rediscovered have changed the face of life and war forever. Now, we stand at the precipice, anticipating what will set off the next Weltkrieg and drag the world into war once more…
Weird War
By homebrewing DnD 5e and combining it with the lore featured in the Kaiserreich universe (though altered a bit) along with other dieselpunk shenanigans, I hope to have an explosive sandbox to play in. This will be an extremely player driven game with the GM mostly just reacting to the players' actions and using the grander world to highlight the personal stories of the PC's. I'd rate it as a PG-13 to R, it's a war story.
If you're interested, please DM with the following information
Name: (First or just nickname is fine)
Pronouns:
Age: (I'm an adult that just wants to game with other adults, sorry)
Experience with DnD/TTRPG's:
Favorite Class or Subclass:
Favorite piece of Diselpunk / alt-history media:
Favorite color:

"The God-Kings' Tomb"
This was a fun one. I saw the call for submissions around six weeks before the story's deadline. I'd never written sword & planet before and hadn't read any since I tried to read through Edgar Rice Burrough's John Carter of Mars series. But, I thought- why not?
So, yes, it is tied into the same universe as the story from the other anthology (Hell Hath No Fury: New Pulp Heroines), although it takes place roughly eight years later and in a very different place- Tadankor, also known as Planet X. This time, featuring Dr. Ben Cairns, an SOE/OSS advisor on the occult during world war 2, who finds herself transported to an entirely new planet and interpreted as being the one prophecied to resurrect the God-Kings and save the dying civilization around the gas giant.
So the story took me about a month to write- from brainstorming to drafting to editing to submitting. That makes it the first story I wrote and then submitted rather than writing a proposal first and writing the story after. That was an excellent feeling, and I appreciated the homage to the original pulp writers. And it's quite a hefty anthology, with a lot of excellent stories and writers, each with a very unique twist and perspective on the genre.
