Shinjiham is cute when it’s romantic but tbh I think i vastly prefer the idea of them being best friends instead. Like, neither of them really saw it coming and weren’t really looking to get another best friend (Shinji has Akihiko, Kotone has Junpei and Yukari respectively) but it happens anyway. Kotone takes a liking to Shinji much faster than she does anyone else and I’d say a big reason is just the fact that he’s so reserved that it allows Kotone to do most of the talking while he just listens and they love this arrangement cuz Kotone doesn’t get to talk about her own interests very much. Though I think some of her needs to talk to Shinji stems from this insecurity that he isn’t happy in the group and she has this people pleasing problem and wants everyone to be happy so she makes a much bigger effort to talk to Shinji. And it’s very unfortunate because Shinji intentionally acts cold and distant because he doesn’t want to form any attachments because he wants to die soon, but aaaaaaaagh dammit this girl just keeps talking to him and being sweet and encouraging him to engage in his interests and share them with the others and he just can’t seem to say no when she’s got those damn puppy eyes. And Kotone is just able to get him out of his shell by being persistent but not in an overwhelming way, she’s very cheerful and supportive of him. And Shinji is able to offer her support by encouraging her to talk about herself and by making sure she’s taking care of herself. They just click really well and make such a positive dent in each other’s lives and it’s all about basic acts of kindness going a long way you know?

I wish Damon Salvatore had remained the true and final villain ("Hello Brother" has a separate franchise fr) instead of giving him that redemption arc. Villain redemption arcs are my favorite but not this.. Maybe because it was not done right? In the beginning, his character was like a breath of fresh air, someone who does not regret his actions, and does as he likes without having much remorse about it. This is what vampires are! Monsters technically and his character depicted that so freaking well. But then they brought- him falling in love with Elena... From that point, his character dropped down for me. Not 'cause I don't like Elena, I love her (and am convinced she deserves better than both these brothers) but bcoz they started imposing his 'human side' 🤷‍♀️

Tbh it was still fine and sweet till season 4 but after that, their relationship felt so FORCEFUL and it went like she never was in a relationship with Stefan. Yes, I get how much his Ripper state has hurt her, that's why I'm saying their relationship arc had so many ups and downs, chemistry and all although they both spent half of their time crying.. anyway. This is why Elena ending up with Stefan made more sense because how can you after going through SO MUCH together, go back to being like teenagers or whatever you would call Elena and Damon had in just a few weeks :)

Hence show makers should have listened to Ian Somerhalder (the actor who played Damon Salvatore) and not gone with redemption BS, instead focusing on filling up some plot holes lmao.

Ps. I know earlier it was planned on having Elena end up with Stefan but Nina Dobrev left the franchise early on soooo there you have it! I wish they had also wrapped up the show within season 6 or something lol

You ever see some art and just know, like what you know is diffrent each time but you can just tell they used to be in a certian fandom, they like a certian ship, and it shows up in writing too, I thought that a line a writer used seemed like something you only see written for one charecter from another fandom and wouldn't you know it when I go look at their other fics that's exactly what I see, and it's so interesting because things we used to love shape us and how we interact with the world and this is just such a sweet way this shows up, like 'I loved this thing so much it's literally changed the way I create and share love for other things even years later' like, man

#i noticed this for the first time while reading a she-ra fic and they used a line a lot of bnha writers use for bakugo and i just knew #like you can just tell and its like a little puzzle figuring out what they used to like that your recognizing #cause sometimes its obvious and other times its something subtle #this happens in more general ways too #like youll be reading a plot diven story with no romance and still you can tell from the way they describe things they normally write ships #not in a 'cerulean orbs' way but idk what tipped me off to it but when i looked and read another one of the fics turned out i was right #also i was watching an animatic that wasbt romantic and was in fact pretty antagonistic #but from experience in the fandom i know damn well you dont draw him like that unless you ship them and what do you know #their other animatics were exactly the ship i was thinking of because basiclly no one else uses that fan made design other than the shippers
