Summary: Qiu Shiyu is a pragmatic young woman, she knows that the marriage her father wants to arrange will be more for his benefit than hers. But even so, she cannot help hoping that her prospective husband to be just might be someone who can match her romantic side too. Kay's comments: I have to admit that it's difficult to get me invested into original characters, but I really enjoyed this story and was immediately intriqued when I saw the summary, just because I adore Ouyang Zichen and feel like he deserves more love! This story features a sweet little perspective of a merchant's daughter on the cultivation world and the woes of being married off despite being a romantic at heart, but luckily for her, she's arranged to marry Ouyang Zichen, who's just as much of a romantic! Just a lovely little story of a first meeting. Excerpt: When she touches the silk to pull it away, it slides free of its own accord, slipping into her fingers like spring rain, revealing the picture before she’d had a moment to even take a breath. Immediately she knows it was a mistake to look. Her heart sighs hopefully as painted eyes smile up at her from the painting, warmed even further by the sentimental smile he bears on his face. If the artist has chosen to enhance his features, it was silly of them; he is lovely as he is. They have drawn him as she might see him if she went to seek him out in their future home, standing in the garden with a book in his hands, face open to interruption. He dresses simply, even for an arrangement picture, it isn’t what she would have expected of a cultivator, but somehow it suits him to be dressed and displayed so. He holds the book with care in his hands, rolling it back gently so the pages will lie straight when he sets it aside. But it is his eyes that she is drawn to again; dark and open like a doorway into pleasant dreams. She doesn’t need to look at the way he smiles or how he holds a book or where he stands to imagine looking into those dark eyes for the rest of her life. Somehow the artist has captured the gaze of a young man who would look at the woman he loves with adoration for the rest of his life, who would see her as a rival to the Four Great Beauties no matter how time or illness might ravage her face, and it is all her romantic heart has ever wanted.

I ask those around me if they have ever watched the movie “What Dreams May Come” and so far everyone says they haven’t. I feel it’s such an underrated movie it’s an amazing film. I rarely if ever watch the same movie twice but this movie I can watch it 100 times and it feels like the first time.

ok Idk why I just had this specific revelation only now randomly when I had already made the previous connection when I watched but I didn't connect it well... but I think the tiger-like plushie in stranger things associated with El, Sarah and Will is about the grief of losing a child/lost children and they took it from this movie (What Dreams May Come) because it has the same meaning there!
