I finally got around to reading What If? Magik.

This is my favourite Illyana book. It's the best one. The art, the writing. The vibe. Strange as a teacher and father figure is so amazing for Yana. The incredible deep-dive into Yana's psyche, both as it applies to the specific universe it's located in and the greater Marvel canon.

It's brilliant. I love it.

I recently played the “Midnight Suns” video game, and, in my opinion, Illyana (voiced by Laura Bailey) is far and away the best part of the game. I loved her powerset, her outfits, and her dialogue...

this was just a lore idea that came to me when i was roaming pinterest and saw too good of an opportunity for a powerful and sexy fic👀 not me streaming summer in g minor cuz it's got the same vibes that this ritual gives me🤧

"Evangeline?" Ada's gasped as the head of deep, fiery red hair before him dragged him deeper into the trees, curls bouncing perfectly with each jogging step. Eva looked back at him, grin wide across her face and she held his hand in her own, her other holding her marvellously jewelled dress as she ran. 

They come behind one larger tree before Evangeline turns around to a halt causing Ada to stagger, his chest bumping into her as he caught himself on her shoulders. Before he could question his ladyship, her hands slipped up and around his neck, pulling him down with haste as she sealed her lips to his fervently.

"I need to tell you about the ritual." She panted between kisses as their hands grasped at one another with a yearning alacrity. Ada moans into her mouth in response, knowing she'll have to pull away yet not wanting to let her.

With a few more sucking kisses Evangeline regrettably pulls away, fingers carding up the back of Ada's hair while his pearly lashes flutter open ever so languidly. He takes a moment to remember her words. "A ritual?"

"Yes," Evangeline simply stated, placing another gentle kiss to her lovers plush lips, agape as he watched her in awe, “the ritual I must perform tonight.” She took a few steps back before she began to pace, Ada leant against the tree as he awaited her words.

“I’m sorry I didn’t have the time to tell you before, and trust me I had planned to tell you much more in advance however things got a bit caught up last minute.” She looked at him sheepishly as she began mindlessly fidgeting with the loose curls of her hair. “It’s an annual ritual I have to do. To replenish my court’s earth with magik to keep it thriving, like how you see it every day. It’s quite the spectacle really, large bonfire at the hight of five men. All the while the women of the court dance around it chanting their hymns to the gods while I walk into the pyre and have my true fire fae-self revealed, which is rather the unflattering might I add.” She paused to see if her lover was keeping up.

Ada gaped at her. Though slow to process, he does grasp the concept. He’s heard of seasonal rituals before though there's all sorts and never had he thought any of them were real. He always suspected the stories to be fantasy. He definitely never thought he’d ever see one himself. Evangeline continues, “Once I step out of the fire is the only time men are allowed at the ceremony, when they line themselves up before me and hold their offerings. Then I’d pick one and, well, seal the ritual with him…” Evangeline’s cheeks glow a light shade of pink as she mumbled the last bit.

Ada’s brow cocks, “Seal the ritual?” He couldn’t help the smirk that pulled at the corner of his lips.
