Miles Morales and 'What's Up Danger'
I've been listening to a lot of the itsv soundtrack, and I've noticed a few things with Miles and the song "What's Up Danger."
So here is an analysis of how I think the lyrics are used to help represent his journey as spiderman and significant moments in his life.
I'm only doing verse 1 right now but I will do the rest dw :]
Verse 1 [memorable only]:
Two thousand on thermometers
Two thousand surroundin' us
(These lyrics, to me, represent the fight between Miles and how the whole Spider-Society is after him)
Travel two thousand kilometres to hang out with us
(This, I think, I talking about how Gwen visited Miles OR how they could have visited him but didn't)
Ayy, didn't know they doubted us
Makes it that more marvelous
(Represents either how Miles managed to outsmart the entire Spider-Society and prove their doubt in his abilities wrong or how he took control of his powers to help everyone get home in istv.)
Ayy, don't be a stranger
("Don't be a stranger" is a phrase sometimes used when leaving someone, and I think this represents when they left at the end of the movie but mist of them DID become people he didn't know anymore cause they (most of them) lied)
'Cause I like high chances that I might lose (lose)
(Again, representing the fight with the Spider-Society)
I like tall buildings so I can leap off of 'em
(I think this represents the moment when Miles finally took that leap of faith and jumped)

Inktober days 13 and 14! Rushed these a bit since I was running a bit behind, but I don't mind the chance to scribble out Miles' leap of faith, and for 14 I felt today's eclipse would be a nice touch.

SPOILERS for Rise of the TMNT The Movie but Quill can’t help it, ya’ll need to go watch Rise (the series and/or the movie) because I need someone to yell with about how freakin’ good this thing is!!! The animation and characterization of this series is flipping EPIC and this AMV edit is a PHENOMENAL display of that while also being a MASTERPIECE ON ITS OWN.
(plz message me/comment about your fave parts of the series/movie if you’ve seen this, Quill must have company to rant about their latest hyperfixation with thanks)

People I refuse to take seriously: anyone who thinks this scene would’ve worked better with orchestral music instead of “What’s Up Danger”

Several years later and "What's Up Danger" from the Into the Spiderverse soundtrack still makes me feel powerful when I'm listening to it.
