Looked up for tokito's videos, and somehow, I feel like he can actually complete his calendar slam this year, including a gold medal at the paralympics. He started the year well, and his form was great as well. Can't wait to see him achieve more and more great things this year.
They put on some wheelchair tennis between the doubles and singles final in Montpellier and this player looked absolutely badass.
(According to the names on the screen I photographed it must be "C. Miranda" I think but I don't know anything else about them and an internet search didn't turn up anything either.)
Guy went on continuing his dominance from the first set into the second set. Thanks to the combination of his anticipation and aggressive play, he came up with a timely lob from the middle of the court to break 1-0 before he consolidated the lead to 2-0. A game later, Guy took advantage of an erroneous service game with a forehand return ace to create his break point before doubling the break again (3-0), which was continued by a service game hold to 4-0.
Two consecutive games later, including Ali's hold of serve (while surviving a deuce at one point of that game), Guy's anticipative returns start to pay off: he started the game with a forehand winner, which pressed Ali's service game enough to finally serve the second set breadstick (6-1) due to a double fault, securing his path in the quarterfinals.
I have said it many times before and i will say it again here: the greatest athletes are wheelchair athletes. Pictured here: the semifinal of the first ever junior doubles tournament in the wheelchair division of the US Open.
Looking forward to seeing Jade Moreira Lanai and Maylee Phelps in the finals tomorrow!

-Stay-at-home-wheelchair-Dad Jake Sully babysits literally all children. His own, whatever fosters Norm has at the time, Tonowari’s, and Tsu’sey and Sylwanin’s. He is the babysitting and parenting God.
-When they’re really rowdy he puts them all on leashes and has them pull him around the street yelling “MUSH, MUSH!”
-Eytukan is retired, so he helps Mo’at run her free clinic. Jake spends like all his free time there, “helping out” with his hoard of children. It’s really just a nice open area for the kids to play in, big fields and equipment in clear view while Jake helps with physical therapy.
-The clinic is where he and Neytiri met, he didn’t have the money for treatment on vet benefits after he was paralyzed in the marines so he ended up at the free clinic. Neytiri volunteers for her mother on the weekends, and she bullied him into enjoying life again.
-Sylwanin and Jake are pretend frenemies, she pretends to hate him because he stole her little sister AND managed to get married and have kids before her and Tsu’tey who have been dating for like, their entire lives. Jake says it’s because they have yet to be blown up, and he can help her with that.
-Every time Jake wheels his way in with all the kids Sylwanin goes “Oh, it’s you,” and Jake says “Yeah yeah, just your brother in law, not like I should get any respect around here,” and then he hands her her exact Starbucks order and offers to have Lo’ak throw up on her most hated patient.
-(when he was little Lo’ak could throw up on command)
-Sylwanin loves all her nieces and nephews equally but she especially enjoys Spider, because before he was adopted he was in the clinic fairly often for suspicious injuries. She hasn’t shaken the urge to watch him like a hawk yet.
-Eytukan and Jake are Boys in a way that disgusts all the women in their family. They go golfing together, and Eytukan accuses Jake of cheating via proximity to the ground.
-Lo’ak was DETERMINED to golf with them for years and when they actually let him come he cried he got so bored.
-Neteyam would never admit this under pain of death, but he enjoys golfing.
-Spider, Neteyam, Ao’nung, and Lo’ak are all deeply obsessed with American Ninja Warrior, so Tonowari, Jake, and Tsu’tey built a course for them. They then started to get a little into it and it got serious. To this day out of everyone they know Jake is the only one to have completed the salmon ladder, and then he hauled himself off the mat and back into his chair and Tonowari and Tsu’tey had to reconsider their sexualities.
-When Kiri, Lo’ak, Neteyam, Spider, and Ao’nung were all babies Jake went to the store with them all strapped to him or in a basket on his wheelchair and someone called the cops cause they thought he stole all those varying ethnicity babies.
-Jake calls it The Great Baby Heist of 2077 and Tsu’tey always responds to this story by asking what idiot would want that many babies?
-Sometimes Sylwanin gets too friendly with Jake and quickly pretends to get mad at him.
-Tonowari and Tsu’tey became friends by both being confused as hell by their friend Jake. When they met him he was all depressed and rotting away alone in the free clinic. Now he’s so high energy he raced Lo’ak once and threw himself out of his chair to get extra momentum to beat Lo’ak over the arbitrary finish line. He had a pool installed for Kiri to just float in and stare at the sky. He bakes cookies with Tsireya balanced on his chair between his legs so he can help her crack the eggs. He beat Tsu’tey in a wrestling match in the gym the other day. His enthusiasm for life scares them, they spend a lot of time side eyeing each other behind him.
-Sylwanin (secretly) likes Jake because he’s a good father and husband to her kids, and he’s funny and a good person, but she likes him even more for the energy he brings out in her husband. Tsu’tey is NOT GOOD at making friends, he’s awkward and he’s a weirdo. But now he plays tennis twice a week with Jake, Norm, and Tonowari and spends like every evening she has to work at the Sully house for dinner.
Batfam members by which obscure Olympic Sport(s) they would be (its a stunt for charity or something):
Bruce: His inquisitive nature leads him to ask: Is there a limit on how many Sports You're Allowed to Compete In? Not for him. He wins gold in Golf, Diving, Badminton, Greco-Roman Wrestling, Ice Dancing with Cass (she's not going to prom of course, so this is his best chance at a father-daughter dance) BMX Racing, Men's Skeet (he has nothing against sport shooting! Honest!), Dressage, and Weightlifting (wait? 860 KILOS??), and Beach Volleyball (Dick is his partner). In fact, he already did sports with Dick and Cass! Why not all his kids! Badminton with Bette (she's basically his niece, come on now), Tennis with Jason, Luge with Tim (Tim literally falls asleep on top of him), and 3x3 Basketball with Damian and Duke.
Kate: Kate runs a poll on twitter asking for the "Straightest sport possible" and that's how she ends up doing a fucking 50 kilometer race walk. Why the fuck is walking an Olympic Sport?? I don't know Kathy, its for charity, just do it please. So for one day, Kate turns into Karen, and speed walks 3. Fucking. Hours. Kate is tempted to melt her Bronze of course its fucking bronze medal down into parts for nose piercings out of malic
Luke: Obvs wants to go into a combat sport. Which is why Dick purposefully tells he he wouldn't be able to do anything else, and dares him to try Artistic Gymnastics. He gets Gold in Rings and Silver in Pommel Horse and Vault
Dick: Dick wants to challenge himself by doing the other Gymnastics he's never done. So he signs up for Rhythmic Gymnastics! But...it's a women-only sport. Which is why Dick comes out as genderfluid and is a woman specifically for the games (cue Tim being fucking furious at Dick about enforcing negative stereotypes). And naturally, Dick wins. But also....you know...he kind of really feels...empowered with she/her pronouns. Like....it feels right. And thus, it took winning an Olympic Sport for Dick to realize he was bigender all along.
Bette: She's like actually a Tennis player, so that. Also, she idolizes Dick and wants to impress him with her super good Gymnastics skills. After winning the gold she bites it in tradition, and it actually bends. She actually ended up with a fucking poorly made tin medal fuck this is so embarrassing noone look at me
Babs: Curling, another weird fucking sport. It's basically like shuffleboard on ice. And honestly, like, its not an athletic sport. Honestly, you probably could do it in a wheelchair. And a huge part of it is technique and intellect. It was MADE for Oracle. After she wins Tesla reachers out for a sponsorship deal to make a robotic wheelchair, and Babs makes a working spaceship just to fucking spite Elon. She also hacks X and removes all the X branding, literally turning it back into Twitter.
Jason: I kid you not, in 2024 they will add competitive breakdancing To the Summer games. Jason is on the first U.S. team. It...you know there were worse ways to make money on the streets than street performing...and you know...it was fun too...I made like $74 one day outside an iHop. No shit fuck Babs don't look for it please don't fuck no please
Tim: Skateboarding has also been recently added to the Olympics. Tim isn't allowed to put his Superboy stickers on it because Young Justice happen to be involved in several international incidents.
Steph: Everyone remembers Steph lived in Africa, but no one even bothered to ask her about it, much less ask which country. Ethiopia, thank you for asking. Curious how they offered her citizenship right after she announced her Olympic plans. Steph wins gold in Speed Skating, giving the continent of Africa its first ever medal in the Winter Games. (She mentions this every single time possible)
Dami: Modern Pentathlon is by far the weirdest fucking sport in existence, but Dami loves it. He gets to swordfight, shoot things, and most importantly. meet a horse.
Cass: Karate kata. Cass in a combat sport would just be unfair, so she does the Kata, just showing off the execution and form. Ice Dancing with Bruce, as mentioned earlier. Her outfit is based on the Black Swan, of course. Frustratingly Bruce is much better at it than her, and she's unsure why. Until it dawns on her she's competing and he's having fun with his daughter. After she stops caring about scores, they two get the highest score in history.
Duke: Artistic Swimming. 2024 is the first year men will be allowed. "No Bruce, I'm isn't going to use my powers to see easily in the water, god." And showing off his abs to that pretty girl in his Women's Studies Elective is definitely not part of his choice of sport. Nope. (She's turned off by his puberty acne, and Duke cries in his room for 8 days straight)
Harper: No Bruce. No Steph. Fuck you Cass. No. No. No. Hey Harper, just wanna let you know, as part of the charity thing, we're doing a gala, and Bernard's busy. Do you think Cullen would like to go?...Fine Tim, I'll do it, for Cullen. Harper of course needs to do something to make an impact though. If she's gonna do this shit, she might as well have fun with it. Which is why she starts a one-woman crusade to add a new sport. It takes petitions, conferences, and a few million dollars in charitable donations to the IOC...but a new sport is added, and Harper Rowe because the Olympic's first ever gold medalist in Sumo Wrestling.

[ID: a sketch of a rat person seated in a red wheelchair. She is wearing a yellow ripped shirt under a light blue jean vest, along with blue jean pants. There is a picture of open scissors on her shirt. She has red tennis shoes. Her hair is yellow and styled to be a spiky mohawk. Her fur is cream colored and her tail, paws, and ears are pink.]
The wheelchair actions commenced today, one of which featured the first-round matches of the Quad Wheelchair Singles sector between fourth seed Guy Sasson and Ali Ataman. It turned out that there were two types of Quad Wheelchair matches that was also the case in this match, which was a regular competitive one and a demolition, depending on how one's return game went.
Just first point into the match, Guy came up with a forehand winner to set himself one point ahead while trying to press Ali from the baseline. However, Ali's +1 forehand error created the break point several points later before Guy's forehand return ace caused the early break to 1-0. Guy followed it up by swiftly consolidating to 2-0, but Ali's commencement of the subsequent service game with a double fault did not help: once again, Guy was caught ending that game with a break (3-0) thanks to another forehand return ace that created his break point at that game.
This was followed up by Guy's quick consolidation to 4-0 even if Ali equalized the point somewhere with a swift forehand return, but this turned out to be a potential demolition as he controlled the flow (including with an ace in one of his points in this game). Somehow, Ali had an initial game point created from his serve+1 foiled out of a similar error, but the said erratic service game did not help anything except for Guy to triple his break to 5-0, asserting his aggressive game even further. The fourth seed then earned his opportunity to serve for the bagel, and he successfully did (6-0) to close the first set.
i will say one visine bottle of clean urine please. i would watch the entertainment on interlace all night while drinking powdered milk with my Big Buddy. i'll have mario incandenza's favorite foods every day that's worth $71,200 in tuition. i would play eschaton every day. i am also more likely to meet people in wheelchairs, ortho stice, michael pemulis, and charles tavis.
I know I and many others talk often about the negative and hard sides of disability so here are some good things that I've experienced that may help some other people find things to enjoy that aren't just ~think positive~ ~do yoga~
First thing! Sports I absolutely love sports and one of the hardest things about my mobility decreasing as I grew up was that I lost the ability to do a lot of what I loved. Para sports are amazing and it is always good to be active and exercise as well as just lots of fun, they are also the main way that I connected with other fellow disabled people and found community. Lots of city's and towns have free programs where you can try out different para sports and those are great ways to figure out if you want to pursue one in specific. I personally play competitive para hockey as well as other wheelchair sports like wheelchair basketball and tennis.
Get into crafts that are practical for your every day life, decorate your mobility aid, sew adaptive clothing take a cooking course so you can better accommodate your own dietary needs, do art therapy, crochet or knit bags and organizers to hold your things!
I don’t normally post my non-fandom art on here but I’m hiding away from all other social media!
I wanted to start this at the beginning of pride month but pain has made it hard to draw. However, I caught up on the current drawings! I’m doing this in a random order so bare with me. That being said, feel free to send in requests of flags/disabilities you would like to see!
