Here's a new fic! It's called What Comes After Stay? and this was an interesting one. I started writing it last night, just intending to do a few paragraphs and then make some notes but then I ended up writing the whole six thousand word thing in one roughly three and a half hour sprint. It's the first in a series called When the Music's Over. What can you expect? Angst. Well, here we go. I hope you enjoy it.

“Don’t you get it!? I love you! I always have! So please, just this once, stay!”
The words still echoed in Catra’s ears. So did the next.
“You love me?”
She knew when Adora spoke those words originally, they were spoken full of unrealized hope. Now, ten years down the line sitting in a little half-buried home in the Kingdom of Snows, Catra heard them in her head as if they were disbelieving. She heard them spoken as they were the last time Adora had said them to her, the time just two days before she left for good.

couldn't get it right
no path of redemption
not to reach the light
the house of detention
doors are locked up tight
soul gets half a mention
not the half that might
stave off the addiction
of the plot and plight
fades into a fiction
and then out of sight
when the poem's over
when the light goes out
will the pen find closure
will there still be doubt
will the days move slower
what is that about
when the poem's over
and the light goes out

wasn't meant to be
that path of redemption
wasn't meant for me
the house of detention
they have heard my plea
soul gets half a mention
not much more to see
stave off the addiction
set the poet free
fades into a fiction
work of fantasy
when the poem's over
when the light goes out
will the pen find closure
will there still be doubt
will the days move slower
what is that about
when the poem's over

When the music's over
When the music's over, yeah
When the music's over
Turn out the lights
Turn out the lights
Turn out the lights
Yeah
When the music's over
When the music's over
When the music's over
Turn out the lights
Turn out the lights
Turn out the lights
When the music is your special friend
Dance on fire as it intends
Music is your only friend !!!!
Until the end
Until the end

I got some friends inside
The face in the mirror won't stop
The girl in the window won't drop
A feast of friends, "Alive!" she cried
Waiting for me outside
Before I sink into the big sleep
I want to hear
I want to hear
The scream of the butterfly
Come back, baby
Back into my arm
We're gettin' tired of hangin' around
Waitin' around with our heads to the ground
I hear a very gentle sound
Very near yet, very far
Very soft, yeah, very clear
Come today, come today
What have they done to the earth, yeah?
What have they done to our fair sister?
Ravaged and plundered and ripped her and bit her
Stuck her with knives in the side of the dawn
And tied her with fences and dragged her down
I hear a very gentle sound
With your ear down to the ground
We want the world and we want it
We want the world and we want it
Now
Now?
Now !!!!

Persian night babe
See the light, babe
Save us
Jesus
Save us
So when the music's over
When the music's over, yeah
When the music's over
Turn out the lights
Turn out the lights
Turn out the lights
Well, the music is your special friend
Dance on fire as it intends
Music is your only friend
Until the end
Until the end
Until the end

Pac: I'm not going to say anything to you guys [Chat], I'm not going to say anything to you. I'm not saying absolutely anything, I'm not going to comment. Man, you broke me here, you broke me in 3 parts! I'm not going to- no no no no no, I won't fall for your game, I won't fall for your game.*
Pac's chat allows viewers to make music requests, which led to this very well-timed moment today where Careless Whisper started playing as soon as Pac met back up with Fit.

The last installment in When the Music's Over has been posted and is ready for reading!

“Hey, Adora.”
Two words. Two words and Adora felt a thrill run up her spine even while crushing anxiety was clutching at her chest. It’d been over a year since she’d seen Catra, over a year since they’d had a screaming fight that’d ended with Adora leaving their home, and over a year since Catra had up and disappeared, thinking Adora had left for good. Now, standing in her old room in Bright Moon, she was facing Catra again and she didn’t know what to say.
Catra was freaking out just as bad. Glimmer had found her in the Kingdom of Snows where she’d been drinking herself into oblivion and talked her into coming back to Bright Moon to try and provide closure to the relationship. She’d been put up in a room on the other side of the castle but she’d gone back to the old room she used to share with Adora and had wandered into the walk-in closet to see what was still there. She’d figured she’d get plenty of warning before Glimmer brought Adora back from Mystacor. She’d been wrong. She’d heard the door to the room open, had gone out to see who was there and there had been Adora.
Now the two stared at each other with unspoken words screaming between the two. Everything Adora ever wanted to say to Catra since she’d last seen her piled to the tip of her tongue and jumbled up, unable to get out. Catra felt like her mind was a perfect blank, words a foreign concept to her after speaking just a moment before. Again, it felt like an eternity before either spoke although it was less than a minute when Adora finally spoke up.
