yeah this has been said a bajillion times i knowwww but sparkpelt and needleclaw had so much potential as "legacy" themed characters

#like its appalling to me they didnt do shit with needleclaw when shes named after someone violet had such a complicated relationship with #AND she shouldve inherited the sisters' powers and all #plus her mother's trauma from the kin could have affected her growing up since she was a mom so young... #honestly in my au. i dont really know where root and needle will come from slkdfjlsdfjs #bc skyclan doesnt come over and i dont want violet to get pregnant so young #shes off with zelda as a kittypet trying to rehabilitate the kin and other victims of the clans so shes not even over there anymore #she doesnt have time for kids of her own. and tree is also gone bc i hate him lol #ig if i put twig in windclan they can be kids she adopted? #but idk. they could go to shadowclan somewhere. but that would be covered with shadowsight #maybeeee riverclan? bc mistystar sides with the imposter so we'd see them in isolation #again tho. idk.

something something Onestar believing all his problems in WindClan and his insecurity in being WindClan’s true leader come from a cat outside the Clans (Smoke/Darktail, Sol in the tunnels, etc) and not his own actions and behaviour leading him to finally reject Firestar’s friendship and ThunderClan’s help... something something fearing his friendship Firestar would be the final straw and lead to his downfall.

Ok at this point I’m just throwing out ideas

Ok so for AVOS: onestar at some point, appoints crowfeather his deputy. Onestar dies before avos, crow becomes leader.

breezepelt is angry at this. Not only is crow the leader, he was chosen bc of his part in the journey and the idea he would be not as eager to fight the other clans. Crow isn’t…really like that, but it was clearly an attempt from onestar to save his rep and be the guy tallstsr wanted as leader

so, taught by the dark forest, including mudclaw, he stages a coup. This time, it works. Crow runs off to thunder with some cats who support him

i don’t have that much after that, but the protag could be a med cat in wind. They don’t like fighting, and choose to become one

he also drives out shadow, and shadow finds the skyclan that is trying to find the clans

Hmm... one of my goals is to keep things similar, but this is very helpful. Idea piles are excellent because there's a lot to pick out of them.

Givens

It WOULD be stronger if the majority of the plot took place in WindClan and Breezepelt could have the villain arc they set up in OotS... But I'm trying to limit massive changes as much as possible, So I will work with the following base major events as guidelines;

Onestar drowns Darktail And in general, Onestar's actions are what allow the Kin to overtake ShadowClan. I do think that this conflict is the strongest part of AVoS so I want to preserve it.

Harestar happens No getting around it; he plays a pretty significant role in TBC and I do think he's a good character. I can shuffle events around but he still becomes deputy in late OotS/early AVoS

The Kin rises in ShadowClan And I want to preserve as much of the ShadowClan drama as possible. The big crop of disillusioned young people, Rowanstar being perceived as weak, Sleekwhisker, so on.

So as you can see, I'm generally trying to keep the same bones while shuffling around the POV. But that said... I've got two big takeaways from the idea pile.

Breezepelt Resentment vs Harespring

I'm willing to undo large swaths of Crowfeather's Trial, which tried to give Breezepelt a redemption in hindsight, because Breezepelt's redemption is happening in AVoS now. Playing on the idea of Breeze growing resentful of leadership in WindClan is delicious.

So what I'm thinking is; Harespring is now Crowfeather's apprentice, and possibly Tornear's son (possibly adopted after he was orphaned by Mudclaw's death). One of the first litters born at the lake. He's closer to Crowfeather than Breezepelt ever was, and that alone infuriates him.

Then, after the battle with the Dark Forest, Ashfoot is injured. She's VERY old, and if she does recover, she won't be able to continue her warrior duties anymore. Onestar casually mentions that he has forgiven Dark Forest trainees so they would be eligible, and it's ON for Breezepelt

This is his chance to get leadership. This is how he can do everything he ever wanted, and he plays GOOD boy. Exactly like Hawkfrost and Mudclaw taught him. Heck, wouldn't it be fun for Breeze to be competing with Crowfeather for the deputy position, as Ashfoot slowly dies begging for them to reconcile?

And when she passes away, it's GOTTA be one of them. They come to the announcement glaring at each other, standing proudly... and Onestar picks Harespring. Because while they were falling over themselves, showing their blind ambition, Harespring has just been plodding along. Reliable, uncontroversial, displaying good judgement since disavowing the Dark Forest as a huge mistake.

I'll even swap it so his apprentice was Boulderpaw who he NEVER involved in his Dark Forest sessions. Breezepelt's apprentice can be Furzepaw instead.

ShadowClan finds SkyClan

Hmm... Yes, I like this. I think I would like to greatly reduce Alderpaw's role to keep Bonefall AVoS focused on ShadowClan and WindClan. I think I'll still have him go on the journey with her, but instead of it mostly being a ThunderClan-centric patrol, it's largely a ShadowClan-centric one.

(which means I get to pick out some ShadowClan warriors to go! YEEHAW for building up some more side characters!)

Perhaps I'll swap Violetkit and Twigkit's discovery to be much earlier; BEFORE the failed mission. I've been meaning to make sure Brokenstar can be transferred to the lake somehow; I'm thinking that Pebbleshine fled SkyClan with a necklace of two acorns, and his spirit kept her safe the whole time, guiding her to safety. When she gave birth, she gave them her charms... not knowing it would mean Brokenstar couldn't save her from that car.

So Alderpaw and Needlepaw both end up with visions to go find and save SkyClan, which is what leads them to the Gorge, and to the Kin.

woo! finally another request cat after so long! it's Whistlepaw! i purposely left out the name on her design since w my luck, her full name will be revealed in the next book. i'll add her name when she gets her full one, or i suppose if she dies young hjkjhjkj

anyway, i like Whistlepaw! she's cute! and i'm a big fan of her family lol. shout out to her n her siblings for such pretty prefixes honestly.

i wanted her to look fairly windclan, but a little bit stockier and fluffier. i think i nailed it p well. i'm also a purple eyed Whistlepaw truther. i love unnatural cat eye colors <3. i was gonna give her a little ponytail, but i ended up w a pixie cut type thing. i think it suits her.

i haven't been able to read shadow yet, but i hope this gal gets to be more plot relevant in asc. she's p neat. and i of course gotta appreciate her as one of my mutual's blorbo's <33

(Cloud!Three Ask) Heyyyy so when Skyclan returns to the lake, what are initial reactions on the other clans seeing Thunderclan's old medicine cat and a former Windclan warrior returning, along with their children?

Plus, does Starclan throw a hissy fit when Leafpool returns?

Well, this is post great battle. The Clans are... Rattled.

Squirrelstar is just... So happy to see her sister again, their connection never truly faded, but she worried about her constantly.

Harestar is flabbergasted but has more pressing matters at hand (like rebuilding Windclan, who are now even more upset) (they take Shadowclan's place in the whole "You can't sit with us" thing with Skyclan)

The Three are happy to meet the LeafCrow litter, and become friends with them, especially Snow and Jay, bonding over their experiences (Jay getting to be a hunter and Snow now adjusting to his new deafness)

Thunderclan as a whole is ROCKED. They aren't exactly happy with this. Leafpool left and Cinderpelt still died that day. They're thankful for Molewish, but he had to work so hard to become a medicine cat, and they struggled after that badger attack. (Mothwing and Littlecloud were kind enough to lend supplies and help, Barkface was too busy tending to his own injured cats)

Starclan threw the biggest hissy fit known to cat. Moon Flight in particular was furious that her rule had been broken and Leafpool dared defy 'fate'. Echosong and Frecklewish were more than happy to help with the kits and were happy to treat them alongside when Leafpool couldn't handle it. Moon Flight drives Leafpool dangerously close to the Dark Forest border, threatening to keep her there forever, when a few cats who have been keeping to themselves for a while speak up...
