My coworker is kind of an asshole.
Day 18 of worker straight through with no break makes Gleafer a tetchy girl.

I think recently I've been avoiding slowing down — maybe hiding from my feelings a little, from having to sit with my thoughts — but the last few days everything has been so overwhelming and upsetting that I just wanted to be at home. And it's been a welcome moment of peace: the hum of the radio, rain smattering the windows outside, the record player crackling on a loop after the album ends. J bakes biscuits, makes coffee, dances around the kitchen doing silly voices and making me laugh. Still very teary and fragile but trying to take that and make it into something good

In May last year, my husband painted the library while I was in Italy. It was such a joy to return to a finished office after my travels. My dad had spackled the library two years prior, and all the sheetrock patches remained visible. It looks beautiful now. We kept the same color as we loved what the previous owners did with it. It's like an old-fashioned Victorian red with hints of rose and gray. The white areas got a facelift with a more cheerful, warm white. I meant to upload these pics last year, which totally skipped my mind. Like Cicero once said, "If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need."

I work my main job, which is outside of the house. Then I do gig jobs from home before work. After, if I'm not entirely dead from my job haha 🙃.
When I work from home, my orange kitty 😺 is always right next to me. She's the best helper.
She often tries to lay on my laptop 😅. She'll rub her face on the edge of my screen. Which was fine on my old laptop. Now I have a touchscreen. Which has been an issue when she decides to touch everything 😄.
I love being an alternative, part time work from home, senior cat 🐈 mom.

1.04.2023 — First chapter and vocabulary quiz due on Monday, so I’ll be cooped up in my room, watching lectures, reading, and studying, this entire weekend. I have to record an introduction video tomorrow for a discussion, so that’ll be… fun. During winter break, I bought a big ring light tripod thing, so maybe I’ll get fancy with it. We’ll see.

any advice on how to not rot in the bed all day? 🥲 I have a remote job and don't even bother dressing up anymore. I want to get out of this rut but never seem to know how to do that... :(
hi! i think the best way would be to start small! you can try and separate work and home at home itself, like if you can keep a separate workspace and stick to that, or strictly maintain work hours.
you could also take your work outside — work from a cafe, a library if possible, or a coworking space, or a park. maybe if any of your friends work remotely or have a hybrid workspace, you could work together for the day.
also, since your work largely means you're at home, find time in the day to step out. take a walk, go for a run, or just go sit somewhere, but try and get fresh air and light everyday. it really does help. you could also get a hobby that needs you to be outside, like you could play something or swim or cycle, or if that's an option, go hiking.
check the notes too, for any ideas. i hope this helps!
