A bright yellow, bright against the green of the grass. An awfully familiar shade, it brought you much comfort. You couldn’t quite fathom why, oddly enough.

Musing silently, your gaze wanders. Glancing to your side, to the man lounging peacefully on a checkered mat. Jade Leech, your beloved.

He lay on the mat, arms tucked behind his head. Half-lidded eyes gazing up at the sky, calmly watching the clouds pass by. It’s odd to see him so still. You’ve grown too used to watching Jade bustle around, handling a contract, or proposing a new business venture. Even when you two were together, his hands were constantly moving.

Rubbing comforting circles into the back of your palm, gentle fleeting kisses pressed into your cheeks, to sly hugs, his arms wrapping around your waist.

It’s been awhile since you’ve seen him completely relaxed. Lips slipping upwards, you gave him a little smile.

Nature really had that effect on people, didn’t it? Surrounded by the miracles of life, you can’t help but be lulled into a state of relaxation.

Tilting your head a little, you met his eyes. Mismatched pupils of sepia brown and a startling yellow. The yellow petals in your hand quavered.

A rustle of cloth, before a weight presses into your shoulder. Cold nips at your skin, a earring brushed against the base of your neck. Stifling a laugh, you tilt your head to the side. Leaning on that dear, beloved mop of hair.

Jade sighs in relief, a breathy little thing. Snaking his arm around your waist, he gives you an affectionate little squeeze. A light airy chuckle, before he prods the chain in your hands, running his finger down the entire length.

“What’s that, love?”

Fastening the ends together, you present the loop to him. A sheepish smile, raising the circle in your palms. A wonderful braid, flowers woven into each other, each bud poking out meekly. Almost shyly, as their petals fluttered in the breeze.

Gingerly, you pluck at the edges of your little circle, gesturing for Jade to lower his head. He follows, the ghost of a smirk playing on his lips.

Placing the chain on his head, you tap both of his shoulders in turn. A playful imitation of knighting a fine sire. Although your touch lingered a little longer then what was really required.

Bopping him on the nose, you beam at Jade once more.

“All hail, Sir Jade of the House of Leech.”

A chuckle escapes his mouth, as he leans in closer. Arms wrapping around your waist, tugging you closer. He held you in the sun, until your rapid heartbeat and his calm heartbeat melting into one. Beating in time, a lovely little melody of devotion and passion.

Of unbridled love.

Jade’s lips brush against your ear, lips grazing your earlobe ever so slightly. A warm, soft sensation that sent shivered down your spine. A sigh tickled your ears, sending pearls of laughter out of your lips.
