Yiayia used to tell me the story of how when her mother lost her sight, she was the one that went back home and took care of her for her remaining days. Don’t hold a grudge. If somebody wrongs you, ασ’το πίσω σου, let it go. Show them they can’t hurt you. Speaking of tough Eastern European farm grannys, I really wish I could share the memes me and my cousins make of our yiayia on here. I don't wanna post her face, and maybe they won't be as funny to you guys anyway, but it's literally just chuck norris meme text on top of her bc we have a running joke that she's invincible (she is)

I am now fully convinced that no one in the group can cook with the skill required to feed the whole tadpole gang regularly. And the first few nights at camp were literal torture for Gale because everyone is doing a little Girl Dinner about it. He's going through a whole Dickensian character arc in those nights where he's being haunted by the ghosts of Dekarios Yiayias past who are saying things like "Lae'zel is too skinny! You should cook your Auntie Diana's lamb for her; the one braised in the tomato and cinnamon sauce, not Cousin Nic's with the mint sauce (it's too dry and tough)".

The other day when gay marriage was legalized my mom called me on a video call cause she was at my grandparents house and they wanted to see me

And my mom was sitting across the room and while I was talking with my pappou (I don't remember about what) she mentioned that gay marriage had been legalized (maybe she was bored and wanted to get a reaction out of the γεροντάκια)

I think someone said something like "Why do they want to get married" (i don't remember if it was my pappous or yiayia)

But pappous said that "God made them that way" and yiayia was like "why are they choosing to be gay?!" "they DONT. GOD. God made them. They born that way"

And I think it's kinda funny that they may be a lil homophobic BUT pappous knows it's not a choice

gale is increasingly kind. he’s a thoughtful person, albeit he can come off more than a little arrogant on some subjects.

gale’s attitude toward other sorcerers or wizards isn’t intentionally obtuse or uppity, but he’s been a literal savant since he was a child. magic is his special interest BIG TIME. if left to his devices he will talk about it for hours. he’s well-trained, well-studied, and well-learned. he’s too incredulously aware of his talent with magic and magical aptitude, and it gives him a tremendous blind spot when it comes to those less trained in the art of magic than he. 

on an overall, however, gale is willing always to lend a helping hand to those who need it. he’ll make extra for dinner if they’ve guests at camp, he’ll knit socks for the other companions, he’ll happily consult on any magical matter and solve it if it’s within his power. he’s a great listener and he pays attention so actively in a conversation it’s startling how much information he takes in and remembers. your birthday, your favorite color, why you don’t like lemon, why you prefer garlic, gale can tell you this about any of the other companions. he’s an exceptionally social introvert and he relishes deeply in positive interaction. when he wants to be left alone, he must be left alone, but there’s no shortage of unrestricted joy in his eyes when someone he cares for so much as waves at him.

gale lacks an understanding for volume control. he tends to be louder than he realizes, and enunciates and emphasizes his words like a dialogic performance. his speech is sprinkled with adverbs and verbose adjectives. he has a tendency to shout when he’s frustrated or upset and isn’t necessarily aware of his rising tone. it’s both a neurodivergent trait and a trait he developed being raised in an enormous, loud, very greek family, and though he is quieter around his relatives when away from them he’s the spitting image.

the wizard of waterdeep is trusting, gentle, amiable with even strangers. he has a tendency to be easy to talk to, just make sure you have at least an hour before you have anything to do. the only muscle on gale that’s particularly developed is his tremendous heart.
