While they're handcuffed, they go to bed together. Light trying to sleep and L trying to continue his work. This arrangement is unideal for both, but together they manage. They get used to it. Then the cuffs come off.

Light followed the routine they had built and got into bed around 11PM, trying to sleep. Like a few days back when the cuffs were still there. But now he can't fall asleep. His bed feels too large because of Ls missing presence next to him. The lack of warmth he radiated.

Even though L is more productive when sitting at his desk, he keeps getting into the bed they shared, trying to continue work from there. Like a few days back when the cuffs were still there but the lack of hearing of Light's even breathing next to him makes him feel uneasy

Both think back to when they were cuffed to each other with a smile. Both thinking about a way to be with the other again, but it shouldn't be too obvious... 'How would he react, if I just...?'

Ahhh it's done! I finally finished recording @lawlietscaramels's amazing Death Note Musical song, "What Is My Worth?" I'm SO hyped that I get to share this with y'all, so I hope you enjoy! (And please please follow Lei while you're at it, this wouldn't have been possible without their lyrics!)

What is My Worth? ╾ Matsuda

sooo I wrote a death note musical song for Matsuda :> I used (mostly) the same rhyme scheme as Where is the Justice.

[L and other members of the Task Force are discussing something as Matsuda enters, hurrying from stage left with what appears to be a folder under his arm.]

[Matsuda]

Ryuzaki, I have news

News...

[A pause, then as L continues to ignore Matsuda, he snaps out a spoken sentence]

I have very important news!

[L, spoken]

I doubt anything you have to say is important, Matsuda.

[Instrumental music rises and lights dim, a spotlight on Matsuda and other patches of light dotting the stage as the other characters exit]

[Matsuda]

What is my worth

If nobody's there to judge it?

What is my purpose

If all my findings turn out unfit?

[He places the file on a table, turning to face the multitude of screens lining the Task Force's walls.]

How can I see my own worth

If I make no effort to make it mine?

Maybe, maybe I will prove my worth...

[He begins to move around the stage.]

Show me what's on this graph

Show me the patterns on the screen

I may not be a master detective

[Matsuda leaves for the Yotsuba building. In this last line he approaches the meeting room and begins to listen in through the door. Snatches of what the men inside are saying come through.]
