Why I think April and Leo shouldn't become an actual couple in MM
WARNING! Spoilers for Mutant Mayhem
(also btw wanted to make it clear I'm not like dissing on people that ship it and stuff, I'm just saying how I personally want to see their dynamic and relationship play out)
I wanted to discuss Leo's crush on April in the movie. With the rise (haha funny) of the follow-up show (and sequel) for Mutant Mayhem I've heard a few people talk about Leo and April potentially getting together.
Welcome to my TedTalk on why they shouldn't, but PLEASE let Leo have a normal teenage crush for the love of god-
I've really liked how they've shown their dynamic so far, and I'm so glad that Leo hasn't gotten all... 2012 Donnie-like. We're all traumatized after 2012 Apriltello, and I think we can all agree we do not need a repeat of that disaster.
What I really want to see is Leo being a kid with a crush, he's gonna be head over heels, irrational, etc. He doesn't know how to act, for christ's sake he crushed on the first human girl he ever saw! He's not exactly mature, it's his first crush. It's such a good chance for character development! He's a teenager, he has hormones.
April doesn't currently (from what we've seen) and shouldn't have to like him. I think it would be a sweet moment to show Leo that he can't make someone like him, and really nice message for younger viewers. It could be 2012 Apriltello done right! I also don't want to see April feeling "bad" for not liking him back or something, or if they do end up doing have it be made clear that she doesn't have to. In the movie, Leo makes his crush pretty obvious and April doesn't "seem" to notice really. You could also explore this as a way of her trying to not hurt his feelings, even though she only sees him as a friend.
The whole situation would be a good message for young kids, and a more relatable situation for teens. I know MM is really trying to show more "realistic" teenagers, I think this would be a great step! (not then teenagers can't get into relationships, but most people's first crush/relationship is at least a little rocky)
Leo is a kid, have some funny and cute episodes where he learns to get over his crush. Maybe have him realize he doesn't have to have a romantic relationship with April to enjoy her company? I honestly find that idea really sweet as we don't really see this type of thing done well a lot.
Of course, they could just end up having them get together in the end, yada, yada, yada... But personally I would love to see more nuance in their relationship
Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.
Oh yeah this isn't proof read either oops

I love when writers add flavour to their x reader stories by giving the reader different dynamics so much because it not only allows for us readers to explore different types of stories and facets of our personalities but also opens up for all different types of pairings;
The kind and soft hearted reader who is always open minded to the one character that needs that balance and compassion
The gruff and emotionally closed off reader who deserves to be comforted and feel safe instead of feeling constantly (emotionally or physically) on the defense
The elegant and poised reader who gets a character that compliments their grace and allows them to slip from their persona when needed while still not mocking or admonishing their poise
The nerdy and knowledgeable reader with a dumb character that still loves hearing them rant about their interests despite not understanding a thing because they deserve to be listened to
I also love me some dumpster-fire-wet-cat-found-in-the-back-of-an-alleyway reader and I think it's hilarious every time
What reader dynamics do you enjoy and which types of stories/pairings do you like to see them with? (Basically ship dynamics but specifically what fanfic you'd read about them)
And what type of reader have you not yet written (or read if that fits) for (for a certain character or in general) that you'd like to try?
Me, personally, I would love to see Mihawk with an absolute we-found-it-eating-our-garbage-and-we-think-it-has-rabies-but-fuck-it-its-our-mascot-now reader
Mihawk: I have high standards
Reader, offhandedly as they walk by: This morning I fought a rat for half a bagel... I lost. That was a new low.
Mihawk, internally: fuck, they're meeting all my standards!
Or with a himbo, honestly. I love me some himbo reader (I love thembo&bimbo but my preference is specifically for himbo, which transcends gender btw, all heart and muscle and no brain)
There really aren't many that I don't enjoy writing/reading. But in particular I'm really big on oposites-atract situations.
Like:
Zoro with a silly bubbly reader that makes him lighten up a little
Sanji with a romantically oblivious reader that his flirting just doesn't work on
Shanks with serious reader that struggles to keep the dumb himbo in line but still thinks he's just adorable
Buggy's overdramatic ass with an aloof reader that knows how to calm him down
Crocodile is an exception here because I wanna pair him with character/reader that's just as cunning and manipulative as he is and watch the whole thing catch fire, I'm thinking about it way too much and I'm bound to start writing him and Wren before long
And definitely Mihawk, as composed and high-maintenance as he is, with the human equivalent of an opossum. Just an absolute dumpster-fire of a reader. Acting all annoyed about it but secretly finding it endearing and feeling compelled to take care of them. Honestly the exact dynamic I'm aiming for with him and Karimi in Hearing Problems, with her total disregard for self-preservation.
I've never written a himbo reader since I primarily write female readers, but they're among my favorite breed of character in general. Janx and Lyon provide my himbo fix. Just writing dumb little drabbles of their interactions for my own entertainment.
"Maaaan." Janx spun the globe sitting on top of the desk in the captain's cabin. "I hate it when ovens explode."
"Again?" Lyon's brow furrowed as he looked up at his first mate, turning his own attention from a map also sitting on the desk. "Is that why you look like you've been on fire recently?"
"More or less, yes," he said, shrugging slightly as he continued his examination of the globe.
"And you caused it, I'm assuming?" He shrugged slightly again. "Wren's going to murder you in your sleep one of these days." He was met with yet another noncomittal shrug. Lyon shook his head and looked back down at the map. He frowned at it for a few moments before picking it up, crumbling it into a ball, and tossing it over his shoulder in annoyance, grumbling under his breath about coordinates before turning his attention back to his first mate. "You're paying for the new one out of your cut this time."
"But I spent everything in Jaya. We were out of whiskey, we needed more, so I took the liberty of purchasing it myself."
"The fact that you're the reason we were out notwithstanding—"
"And what are we supposed to do until I get the money?" Janx went on lamenting, ignoring the accusation. "Not eat? I can't not eat. The oven is in flames right now because I was being forced to not eat."
"But I feel like I need to be thinking straight," said Lyon, still blinking in a confused manner.
Janx opened the door and looked over. "Then you're too sober for your own damned good."
The crew didn't return until later that evening, and when they did, they found Janx collapsed in the middle of the deck, covered in raw egg, pieces of eggshell, feathers, and ink. He smelled of something like dirty mop water and looked as though he had been utterly defeated. A few stopped to snigger at him, but most just walked past and ignored him. Lyon stopped by him upon finding him and looked down at him, giving a snort of laughter.
"Learned your lesson, I take it?"
Janx managed to sit up and nodded. "I had to chase her all over the ship for five hours straight," he said weakly. "I'm so tired I could sleep for weeks. I've learned that the next time you tell me I'm babysitting your hellspawn, I should probably just jump ship and let the ocean take me."

Hello to a bunch of my new followers! My name is Trinity and I'd like to run through some of what my blog supports, my opinions, and other stuff. Feel free to message me anytime or you can lurk like the little goblins you are >:)
I reblog a lot of art, comics, and memes. I like to interpret canon by analysing specific choices on a timeline based on the end outcome. Basically that means I believe a character is canonically horrible, nice, cute, a killer, a saviour, etc. all simutaneously. If you have a take, I probably have evidence to support it even if I don't like it LMAO
My favourite character is Connor because he (apart from Hank) is the only character with strong internal conflict (and I go feral over characters with internal conflict). I enjoy Rose and Adam's interpersonal conflicts with each other, I love Hank and Connor's interpersonal conflict (probably for the same reasons as everyone else: it's funny af), and I found the relationship development between North and Markus rushed and disappointing.
I don't really hardcore romantic-ship anything, but I enjoy a bit of simarkus, and mainly reed900. Reed900 is so, so horrible that it makes me laugh. Make android-racist kiss the upgraded version of the android he hates most. A well-deserved punishment lmaooooo 💀 Also I love the fanon dynamics it's too good.
I like to ship Hank and Connor as father and son because that's such a vibe to me!!! Most of the time, hankcon makes me uncomfortable because of this, but I'm vibing and it's okay if you like to interpret their relationship the romantic way. (Multiple timeline brain, after all^.) I keep the hankcon hashtag hidden but sometimes I sneak a peak hoping it's a funny comic alskdhskjdhd I used to get jumpscared by hankcon because I interpret them as father and son, but nowadays I look at it and go "ah yes, not My timeline" and travel back through the wormhole whence I came 🥴 I can still appreciate some of the art tho!! Btw I'm chill if you tag my some of my stuff as hankcon I don't care 💅
I like to see the RKs as brothers in one universe, but I don't mind the RK ships in another universe. These ships are like a true neutral for me, but the brothers is preferred :) I think I just like family dynamics lmao
I dislike the main fanon interpretations of Sixty, but I do love the memes of him being a dumbass. I like memes of any character being a dumbass. It makes my dumb ass feel less of a dumb. Also it's funny
I REALLY love meta and analysis. I soak that up like a sponge. I love when people throw essays at me or a ramble comes across my feed. I love it so much. Analyse the symbolism!!! Do it do it!!! I will lick the screen like an RK800 I don't care I am Normal about proper good analysis.
I don't really read much fic and if I say I'm going to read something, give me about 1 business month. (I'm not exaggerating I'm so sorry.) I'm more of a content creator than consumer, so I spend my free time making stuff and then I consume when my brain needs to chill out or the guilt gets too strong.
You can find all the stuff I create on my pinned content master post. <3
Once again, feel free to message me or throw me posts but if there is one thing that tops it all: If you find any content of Connor suffering, I require it to live. That's my oxygen. If Connor is reduced to nothing but his entrails on a table and a CPU propped up on a stand, I will be so happy LOL sorry Connor. Get shot homie
Bonus: The PM700 is cool as hell and I have a blondman crush on the WR600 who gave Kara directions to Zlatko's 💀👌
Bonus bonus: Mega crush on Connor too!!! Also I love Zlatko's monsters ok I'll shut up now

how do you feel about purely platonic or character study fics? i feel like theres a great lack of it in the madcom space lol. theres like only one or two authors i know of that dont focus on romance or nsfw (not saying that any of those things are bad btw)
I actually really enjoy platonic dynamics and try to incorporate them even in romance-centric fics. something I've noticed in a lot of fandoms actually is that they either ship everyone with everyone or they have the main couple and they're just. indifferent to everyone else around them
like with the current fic, it's definitely a 2bmos fic but I do wanna expand on the friendship between Deimos and Sanford because there's just so much you can do there when you remove the romantic aspect of sanmos, same for Hank and Doc
I throw the term character study around a lot but really just about everything I've written is a character study of some sort. there are characters and they are in situations and I am studying them throughout the whole story. that said, fics that are JUST platonic character studies are my kryptonite, like of everything I've written I think I enjoyed doing Preposterous the most because platonic 2bmos is such a fun dynamic to work with
I am ranting
anyway caveat to all that is that sometimes you have to write what you wanna see because no one else is gonna get your vision until you show it to them. I see people frequently complaining about one thing or another not getting enough attention in xyz fandom and I'm like. what are you doing about it? because I wanted more 2bmos content and guess what I did about it? I started writing it in hopes that a) I will get lots of nice comments because I'm an attention whore above all else and b) that people will read it and go "oh hey I never thought of that, now I wanna write 2bmos too." fiction is a pyramid scheme in that regard
if you wanna get into writing the stuff that you wanna read and don't know where to start, there's tons of free resources and hundreds of authors including myself that are thrilled to talk about the process and give tips
this answer is unnecessarily long so I'm gonna stop myself here but tldr your brain is so huge and right anon I am biting you /pos

I feel so conflicted because I have a pair of aroallo characters (that I've talked about before in another anonymous ask) whose relationship (that they will never label romantic, they'll only refer to each other as their best friend and it's more of a QPR), resembles a romantic relationship in many ways, especially with them being physically attracted to each other as well.
They never crushed on each other, they just grew into this mature companioate love and partnership-like relationship over the years, they intuitively GET each other (especially when they have to deal with arophobia from others), and their bond is so strong it'll overcome death (it's a fantasy story about reincarnation lol). In the beginning I felt excited about deliberately pushing it a little and using romantic tropes (and subverting the ridiculous ones) and incorporating scenes that question and deconstruct amatonormativity and the social construct we've created that is the friendship-romance binary. I thought surely it'll get people to think about this stuff more. But having read a lot of comments on webcomic platforms, and some aroace asks about shipping, I've started to feel more and more anxious that the allos will just not get it, especially the shippers, call it queerbaiting and ask why I don't just make their relationship "official" already, and the aroaces will feel like I'm erasing them or misrepresenting them after all.
(I ship these characters btw. But when I ship characters I don't feel the need to call their relationship anything, I just enjoy watching or fantasising about their dynamic and their bond growing.)
Maybe it's connected to my own allo(ish)arospec experience and how I feel like I'm too aro for the allos and too allo for the aros and aroaces and there's no room for unlabeled, undefined, ambiguous relationships that you can't quite place in this amatonormative society.

questions 4, 5, 8, and 12 please. if you don't mind!
Thank you for asking there! Although as my most active and favorite fandom is "Cursed Princess Club" - forgive me to limiting on that webtoon fandom only there!!! IDM btw ^^
Tumblr media
4) I do like slash pairings but just for funnies, although I prefer heterosexual pairings but I do love canon homo ones like Jamie/Leopold and Jolie/Nell.. but if not canon - as in the feelings not mutual, I didn't ship it. So most (non canonical) homosexual pairings in the CPC imho not make sense to me. Especially in order to do so - bashing characters, usually male characters one in order to make wlw agenda happen. Or the opposite, blb that actually just bromance at best becomes romantic without resolving the actual problem of the mentioned character in the story [I feel it's lazy writing for: X might gets redemption if he gets what he wants which is by somehow together with Z who also a male - simply for spits]. No hate for LGBTQ+ community as a whole, but I am big fan of canon compliant so any pairing like that [I feel I didn't need to list it, as it's obvious the examples from just the taggings] I likely won't read it or if I do stumble means I will never re read. I feel we could simply, respect each other? I feel we could make great fanfics without bashings. My cup of tea is loving canon pairings (or the ones that might have mutual feelings) which I see very often heterosexual ones, so I won't reading fanfics about pairings that not make sense to me - most of them it's pure fanon territory like "what-if" character A never likes B as well hating initial characterization of B, suddenly character C comes in to 'doing anything to lets A better' - even if that's mean bashing character B as harsh as possible
5) CPC still not ending so as highly canon compliant person, I didn't know whose pairing that will be "platonic" at the end or is possible they'll be romantic that maybe not right now but in the future they're dating/gets together more/marry etc. I feel there's "ship" but more like dynamic of the whole group of Background Princesses (Abbi, Renée, Bernadette, Sally, Deaneira, Jolie, Thermidora, Nell) - as they are very in click working together as making "CPC monster"... Which I feel we will meet them again soon as certain event leads to - CPC HQ
8) My non native English struggle first to understand the question then I guess... A local webtoon which the niche as webtoon will be always minimal compared to animanga, as well as it's local in my language's country to make it rarely known internationally (although translation exists for it)
12) Become so obsessed to being so active as daily doing editing for fandom wiki as well as running up before series ended, I used to be obsessed with my no. 8 series while reaching the top of achievement thus declared as admin... Now I do the very same for "Cursed Princess Club"
I am indeed doing absolute payless and likely thankless jobs - just for other people of fandom 'helped' some way with wiki
P.S. as conclusion: if you are enjoying CPC, I really hope to at least take part in venturing the CPC fandom wikia...
Literally built by shattered mind, stress, tears and sweats

I got to the point of liking your posts before reading them, because I know I will love them lol.
I wanna say I'm really excited for the list of bonus dwm stories you planned, especially the ones involving the hellfire guys because I'm loving their dynamic. (You have a Scottie fan here lol)
The preview of Out of the loop is amazing, I really like the way you portrait Gareth and his "hatred" towards the reader lol... "At first, she appears as this beautiful, enchanting woman, but underneath that guise, she’s a wretched old witch who thrives on torment" this made me laugh a lot, yes she might be an evil witch but a beautiful and enchanting one 🌝 Is there a small chance they will become friends? Or at least get along
I'm looking forward the next chapter of paper men too, since I'm extremely curious to see Henry's pov. Even though Vic is my favorite guy, I find Henry, and also Patrick, extremely interesting characters, one is extremely wounded and channels his pain in anger the other has a completely different view of the world in comparison to others and you describe it beautifully. I recently started reading the It book, thanks to your fic.
Have a nice week🌺
Yes! Don't me wrong, I absolutely love writing romantic stories about Eddie and the reader, but I have so much fun writing funny little fics with the rest of Hellfire.
And if you like Scottie (I do, too btw) you're really gonna enjoy one of the later fics I have planned. Obviously, he's going to be in most of the pre-DWM fics and a few of the post-DWM ones (once he gets out of prison, that is), but there is one in particular that I'm really excited about. Scottie, because he's approaching the end of his senior year, doesn't want to graduate without having gone on at least one date, so he asks the reader out on a date. It's really cute. Scottie is in top form. And they end up spending quite a bit of time talking about Eddie, so... I'm really looking forward to that one. 😊
And regarding Gareth, honestly I doubt he'll ever become friends with the reader. I do think that, eventually, he'll realize that she makes Eddie very happy and he'll soften up to her a little, but that's about it. Gareth holds a grudge like no other, and he just finds her personality very grating. That's never gonna change.
Lastly, I'm excited about returning to Paper Men, too! These last chapters are gonna be really strong, and then the next part is going to be a wild rollercoaster. I hope you enjoy the book. It's one of my favorites. I love the movies, but the book is so much better, especially when it comes to portraying the Bowers Gang.

Hey, first of all, I hope you're safe and well 💙💛 I've recently had the pleasure of reading two of your works: "What he grows to be" and "Those gentle slopes that leads to hell" (btw, how beautifully poetic is this title?), and I'm so happy I have found you on tumblr! Let me tell you that you're one of the most elegant and intellectually stimulating writers on ao3. While reading your fics I couldn't help but think of one of my favourite TV series, Versailles. Since you're clearly interested in complicate, ambiguous, obsessive relationships and manipulation leading to catastrophic consequences, I think you'd absolutely love Louis&Philippe dynamic on the show. Not necessarily romantically - I don't know what your thoughts are on incest - but I think their dynamic pretty much cheeks all the boxes for you. I hope you won't take this message as spam, mine is only a suggestion to give the series a try because I genuinely think you could enjoy it. I look forward to the next TGSTLTH installment.
Hello! Thank you so much for your amazing words and wishes. I'm so happy you enjoyed these stories, they are projects of passion, so it's great to see that my readers like them))
And thank you for recommendation! I've never seen or heard about Versailles before, but I looked into it just now and I like how it sounds, so I'm placing it on my to-watch list. I'm always collecting recs for obsessive relationships - I have several in my inbox, both old and new ones, and I'm slowly making my way through them.
My only red limits in fiction, particularly between the main characters, are sexual torture and gang rape. I'm open to all other dynamics as long as they are presented in an interesting way!

I totally agree with your take on jjk female characters!! They are not as "groundbreaking" as the fandom says, and Shoko is arguably the most important character, the declining rate of sorcerers would up to the sky if not for her lol her perspective would be interesting
What would be your take on Chainsaw man female characters? csm arcs have more female villains than most shounens— I don't even recall an intregal female villain on JJK but I don't see much analysis on csm female characters on online, it would be great to read a take on them other than bark bark woof
i do have criticisms of csm but i genuinely like the manga bc of how fujimoto embraces the weirdness of the manga he aptly named 'chainsaw man' LOL it's actually something new and refreshing and doesn't only challenge the boundaries of typical shonen conventions but completely rewrites them. it's wild!
also i need to reread chainsawman btw
i think makima’s a good villain, but i don’t think it really makes sense to think of her as a female villain more than just a villain (she’s not even human in the first place) fujimoto has said in an interview that he likes women who can bully him and i’m pretty sure that’s the only reason he made makima a woman in the first place LMAO. that being said ppl have analyzed the gender dynamics taking place between makima and denji and makima grooming denji which i’ve also talked about (basically it deserves more nuance than just calling makima a groomer which she technically is but also makima like....isn’t even human in the first place and also isn’t interested in denji sexually. sex is just a means to end bc it’s what denji wanted) i did enjoy makima as a villain but i definitely wouldn’t consider her female representation (she is a girlboss though)
as for power i adore her and her relationship with denji and aki and you can tell fujimoto actually put care into her character. i thought she was a really interesting and refreshing character and i ended up caring up about her much more than i thought i would. i think what i really enjoyed was the little to no emphasis on romantic love although there was definitely love between the three. nothing forced or overtly sexual (in my opinion).
i don’t remember much about quanxi other than she’s hot i’d love to join her harem and i think it fucks that she’s canonically one of the if not the strongest characters in csm.
obviously i’d like the female characters to get more development, but I understand the need to focus on the main trio (esp since the manga’s only at part 1??? which i had no idea about LOL) the reason csm works is bc there is a focus on the main trio unlike jjk which has a much larger cast and a constantly switching focus. see i can forgive csm because denji, power, and aki are the main characters, but jjk having female characters in place as mains and still not utilizing them is something i can’t forgive!

I’m late as FUCK but I also took a look through your dgs liveblog tag and WHOOH. Congrats on finishing such a life altering game 🥺
What did you think of the game? Any favorite characters? Any ships? And I also happen to talk wayyy too much about this game so if you ever need to yell or scream incoherently my dms are always open! I WILL yell back
Also I am legally obligated to ask what you think of susato. Thank you, and have a nice day/night :)
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! Hope you enjoyed <3 YEAH IT SURE IS LIFE ALTERING OUOUUGGHHH
I'm tentative about talking one on one with people before i really know them just because I am a very awkward and socially anxious person and tend to warm up to people easier in group settings-- however!! i'd love to chat with you! you seem cool i'm just a lil guy who needs to be approached slowly like one would approach a wild cat therefore if you ever wanna chat at me through asks and stuff i love talking to people that way so i'm always down to hear your thoughts or if you ever wanna ask me more stuff <3
WHICH. THANK YOU FOR ASKING ME QUESTIONS BTW. I LOVE QUESTIONS. I LOVE ANSWERING THINGS AND GIVING LONG RAMBLING ANSWERS. IM GONNA GIVE YOU LONG RAMBLING ANSWERS NOW
1] What did you think of the game? I LOVE IT IT'S ONE OF MY TOP TOP FAVOURITE GAMES OF ALL TIME???? IT'S. IT'S. Okay what you need to know about me is 1) I LOVE extremely linear plot-heavy games. I have somehow never played a visual novel before ace attorney despite the type of game I would most enjoy being the ones you're basically just reading instead of playing. 2) I have been super interested in murder mysteries ever since I was very young but NEVER found anything that I felt I could get into before finding ace attorney. mainline AA already filled so many niches there but DGS just completes something in my soul. that's my house. that's my home. i live there. I love it SO much it's so perfect it's everything I've ever wanted in a game, being able to put things together and figure things out as I was playing was SOOOO fun and it was SOOOO . just. GOOD. HJOUOUOUUOGGHH.
2] Any favourite characters? IS IT . CAN I SAY ALL OF THEM??? HFJDKFKD. I have several friends who are still playing DGS and every time they get to literally any character I'm like "that's my blorbo ":3" every time. to all of them. I love all of them they're all my beloved family you couldn't possibly make me choose. Anyway it's Kazuma my favourite is kazuma. JKFDHDFKJKGJFE. Like yes I love all of them completely equally and this is the complete and utter truth however I have been so emotionally attached to Kazuma since several months before I ever even touched the game. I have openly cried on the couch in the dead of night over Kazuma several times. Before I touched the game. I'm dead serious. He means a lot to me <3 However everyone else is an honorable mention and by everyone else i DO mean everyone else. EVERYONE in the main cast + my obscure side character blorbos (haori and inspector hosonaga i love you)
3] Any ships? eehh?? Kind of? I don't really do shipping in the way that fandom does? Usually I'm not as invested in ships much because I care way more about the platonic relationships. so there's a lot of ships that i just kind of shrug and go "yeah, sure! i'll take that as headcanon" and accept it without being invested, and otherwise most other ships i'm just neutral on. when I AM invested in romantic pairs i still am like. completely chill with them not being romantic it's more of just an investment in that pair and their dynamic lol
THAT BEING SAID. Asoryuu. Susahao. Ginasusa. Uhhhh. whatever the ship name for holmes & yuujin is. Those are the ones you'll see me reblogging. I'm either very invested in them or at least have them as my headcanon depending on which it is but! those are them <3 susato polyamory real. everything else is generally just a "eh not for me" or "yea sure why not"
4] Thoughts on Susato My thoughts are uuummm she's me! HSDJKHF. I'm usually pretty quiet about kin stuff on tumblr but. [gestures to my tag masterlist with one of them labelled "kin tag" pretty openly] not necessarily hiding it either lol lol. Hi! She's me <3 I'm her <3 i am incapable of pretending to be a normal average person about dgs. those little guys in there are my family. I mean this so genuinely
That fact that I'm kin with her aside though I think she's a really good character I'm just like. kinnie lens makes character analysis interesting lol. To an outsider's perspective though I suppose she'd technically be my favourite character? I'm gonna write a whole ass fic going over the entirety of the events of the game from susato's point of view just to put all my thoughts somewhere so. FKJDFDLK if that gives you any idea of how frequently i am thinking about her.
Come talk to me about her introductory line in 1-1 that is just "in my darkest hour, with nowhere left to go, she appeared like a bolt of lightning." i'm SUPER fucking normal about it i'll wax poetic about it for hours. honestly i'll wax poetic about ANYTHING re: susato for HOURS because listen. listen. i have the insider knowledge. i have so many thoughts all the time i'm bark bark bark

Hey Tawus :) I hope you're doing okay and staying safe <3 I have a couple of questions for you, if you don't mind
What are your thoughts on unsealed Gojo? A lot of people have pointed out that he is dressed exactly like Toji and even has the same dead look in his eyes in that one panel but nobody seems to think too much of it. Do you think it has any significance?
Do you ship anyone from JJK? Or not necessarily ship in a romantic way, just really like the dynamic between two characters?
Would you write fics about other JJK characters Toji? Maybe when season 2 drops?
Would you consider making a short post here on Tumblr about your Gojo headcanons? You know, just listing them with bullet points, collecting them in one place. I really like your interpretation of Gojo's character and it genuinely feels like you have him & his quirks figured out. (Tbh if you said you knew this man personally, I would fully believe you lol) So yeah, I think many of us would enjoy reading your headcanons
Hello my dear! Thank you for sending this, it’s been ages since you did 😔 I’m going through some shit these days hence the delay (and hence also no new written content from me for about 2 months now, yikes). But asks like these are a good pick-me-up, so thank you again 🥰
⚠️ JJK manga spoilers below the cut ⚠️
1. Tbh I’ve been annoyed by Gojo’s apparent “Tojification”. It seemed to me like Gege picked the easiest outfit to draw and went with it. Since the beginning I’ve viewed Toji as one of the underdog characters of JJK which are used more like props for the plot, rather than given sufficient spotlight and respect. Not to mention, those who read the manga will know how things ended with Toji, so excuse me if I feel extra protective of him. Which is why Gojo’s Tojification – especially when he still has a huge and serious reckoning to do with Megumi in regards to what he did to his father, deserved or undeserved – has been irking me. The tiny panel in ch 224 where annoyed Toji goes “What a copycat” indicates that Gege is doing this stuff intentionally, but I still don’t think it’s anything more than a gag. If it is, I’m curious to see what it is.
2. Now that you mentioned it, I actually don’t have any ships in JJK wow! But what Yuuji and Megumi have is special. Reminds me a bit of Luffy and Zoro: that same absolute unspoken trust and having each other’s back at all times. Plus, Zoro also has a harder, inaccessible personality, whereas Luffy is goofy and optimistic – for sure reminds of the two JJK boys.
3. Omg you a Toji fan too, HELL YEAH! I have 2 Toji fic ideas: one is a one-shot, another is a longfic. I really want to see Toji animated first, as you suggested, since I want to capture his mannerisms, his voice, his cadence, his emotions, everything about him as perfectly as possible! I can’t wait to see him on-screen 🤩
Other characters I’m captivated by are Yuuta (tho not a huge fan of his cursed technique being Copy...), Sukuna and Kashimo (oh btw, I'm 99.9% sure Kashimo is inspired by OPM's Garou...).
4. This is a super anticlimactic answer but could you please narrow it down for me, i.e. you would like Gojo headcanons regarding what sphere? I only ask because I work well with specification, if I know which direction I’m going I’ll produce my best work. And also thank you very much!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Insanely happy to hear my rendition of Gojo sounds right to you! No higher praise for fanfiction 😘

I am not sure if this a good fit for the non-shipping meme, but Ace Attorney? I saw you like those games and I love them too! :)
Hey, thanks for the ask! I had to give this one some thought since I haven't been in an Ace Attorney 'mood' for quite some time - so my apologies if I forget an obvious relationship that I should have added. (Btw, I enjoyed reading your Ice Age one!)
Non-shipping Ask Meme: Ace Attorney
M/F BroTP:
This one came to me pretty quickly - Phoenix/Maya. I know some people see them as a romantic pairing, but for me it's just such a strong brother/sister thing. I have a huge weakness for male/female friendships like this. I also like Phoenix/Mia, Trucy/Apollo, Apollo/Athena, Apollo/Vera, and - if we're going with non-canon stuff, I really like the sibling relationship I've created between my OC, Denise Swallow, and her canon brother, Doug (the victim in the first case of Trials and Tribulations).
F/F BroTP:
Nothing immediately jumps out at me - there's Franziska/Adrian, who I ship as a romantic pairing, but I'd prefer they be friends than have no relationship whatsoever - but I guess Lana/Mia, Trucy/Athena, Trucy/Jinxie, Trucy/Vera, Athena/Junie, Junie/Robin, Lana/Ema, Mia/Maya/Pearl are cute. (Some of those could be romantic as well, others couldn't due to the characters being related). I'm not sure how Maya and Trucy interact (if at all) given that I haven't looked into the later games much, but I think they could have a cute big sister/little sister or even aunt/niece-type relationship.
M/M BroTP:
Probably Clay/Apollo and Kazuma/Ryunosuke, though I can also see them both as ships. I also like Marshall brothers stuff thanks to my friend @jake-marshall.
crack BroTP:
Idk if this is 'a BroTP' exactly, but @jake-marshall wrote a story a few years back about Franziska and Larry interacting, which was just as chaotic as you'd imagine, but really cute and funny at the same time.
I also remember reading a one-shot with, of all people, Ini Miney and Richard Wellington forming a bit of a buddy relationship after they both got out of jail, and it was oddly endearing. But again, idk if it qualifies as a 'BroTP' because it's not something I think about much.
Dynamic I didn't expect to like:
I can't really think of anything?
Dynamic I didn't like:
Hmm ... I kind of find Pearl Fey annoying with her insistent shipping of Phoenix and Maya, but she's just a little kid with a very romanticized idea of love, so I can't be too hard on her.
I also feel like there could be more affection shown between Phoenix and Apollo, in terms of them being a "family" of sorts beyond just boss and employee, but again, I don't really know if their dynamic develops at all in the later games.
Thank you for the ask!~

A more or less inclusive list of my tpn (mostly RayEmma) AUs because I felt like sharing!!
Hadestown Emma → Orpheus Ray → Eurydice Isabella → Hades Leslie → Persephone Norman → Ermes GP children → factory workers Mathilda, Jessica, Scarlet → the Fates

Kill la Kill Ray (genderbend) → Ryūko Matoi Norman (genderbend) → Satsuki Kiryūin Emma → Mako Mankanshoku Vincent, Barbara, Cislo, Zazie → Four Devas Yuugo → Aikurō Mikisugi (really like the similarities between the Ray / Yuugo → Ryuko / Mikisugi relationships, as in "supposedly mentor who's very bad at mentoring" and "increasingly annoyed student") Lucas → Tsumugu Kinagase Isabella → Ragyō Kiryūin
BNA: Brand New Animal Emma → Michiru Kagemori Ray → Shirou Ogami Norman → Nazuna Hiwatashi
Promare Emma → Galo Thymos Ray → Lio Fotia Isabella → Kray Foresight (I like how both were parental figures for Emma / Galo) Norman → Aina Ardebit Gilda → Heris Ardebit (except she's related to Emma maybe?) GP resistance → Burning Rescue Lambda Group → Mad Burnish

ivy here, re: your tags on that date gifset! in that 40 minutes long actors on actors penn and chace conversation (which i watched when i was supposed to be in online class because, well, duh) there's a bit where they talk about how much fun the scenes in which it was just nate & dan were? badgley says something about how crawford got to exercise his ability to be quietly and understatedly funny (i don't remember the exact words but that is the sentiment) and like. yeah. (1/2)
most of natie's storylines were like. absolute nonsense unfortunately, so him just having a friend he could chill out and vibe with was such a Big thing, re: what we saw of him on the show. there's times when he's hanging out with serena, and also with vanessa in the early seasons, where we sort of see him just being joyful &i think the thing with dan is a lot like that, but also not a lot like that? his relationship with dan is so very casual and not serious/formal, there's an ease there. (2/2)
oh I love that! yeah. that set got me thinking too about a couple things.
first acting wise, this reminds me of an analysis from one of my other fandoms. so the Star Wars prequels are notorious for being disliked (i am actually pretty fond of them but that's neither here nor there) and one of the leads, Hayden Christensen gets bad shrift, but when you watch his performance, you can tell that he's actually a very good actor dealing with some very very bad material. and idk if it's a direct comparison, but the Dan & Nate scenes in GG are written to be like, palate cleansers from the ever-heightening drama - so they aren't as stilted or preoccupied with upping the stakes, they just function as comedic relief. "just guys being dudes" so there's less pressure in performing them, or at least that's how it reads.
and from a character perspective...Nate grows up in the world of UES artifice, where he's never really given space to be himself or figure out what he wants. Like, his journey from the very beginning of the pilot is this internal conflict where he feels like he's living a lie, but he still doesn't really know who he is, so how can he correct that lie? (which is why he values honesty SO much as the show unfolds). But with Dan, and these scenes with Dan, there aren't any expectations really of who he's supposed to be (bc re: 1x03, Dan kinda hates him for a minute, there's no where to go but up), so Nate can just. Exist. and enjoy that existence.
and I think that's a symbiotic part of their relationship. You've said before (on multiple occasions) that Nate brings out the himbo in Dan (a turn of phrase which I LOVE, btw) - and he really does! With Nate, Dan gives himself permission to take himself less seriously, and he needs that! so their comedic-leaning scenes together, even during the tumult of the derenate love triangle, kind of exist in their own space. which is why I love their dynamic so, be it platonic or romantic!
quietly and understatedly funny !!! that's SO true

If u don't mind me asking, i see that u used to ship borusara on ur blog when the boruto movie came out but then what happened? Nothing wrong if u don't btw. Just curious why u r against it now 🤔
I don’t remember ever actually shipping Boruto and Sarada, sorry. Perhaps I might support the idea of them back then or I was just simply ok with it. However, I’m sure I never claim anything about shipping them for real. Like actually being invested.
To be honest, it was actually the opposite. I wasn’t fond of the idea of them at the very beginning because I wasn’t fond of Boruto back then. Things changed though. I think there was a time when I came to open up to the possibility of the ship because how it was implied in the movie and there didn’t seem to be any competition for them back then. So, if that’s what the editorial was seemingly going with, then I would be ok with it. I would support it if it’s confirmed that they actually had mutual feelings within the story. I care a lot about Sarada after all. I love her and I want her to be happy. Probably up to this point anyone might confuse me as “shipping them” when I have not.
Furthermore, as I read the manga, I came to like Boruto’s teacher and student dynamic with Sasuke. I like how much Boruto admires Sasuke, to the point that he wants to walk the same path as him to become the kage from the shadows. Because of this, I really, really love the idea of Boruto being the future shadow kage to Sarada, the future Hokage. I love the idea of him being her most-trusted right hand man, protecting the village and the Hokage behind the shadows. This is the dynamic I really love about Boruto and Sarada. Not that of lovers, but of precious partners. I’d prefer much for this dynamic to be canon.
Also, I personally dislike people shipping them just for the mere reason of “imagine how op their child could be!!” like ugh really so it’s all about power in the end not the characters themselves? In fact I don’t prefer the Uchiha bloodline being mixed with big clans like Hyuuga/Uzumaki if possible, let them just be separated and keep the clans distinguishly diverse.
And for some reason, as I read them more in the manga, Boruto and Sarada kind of remind me a little bit of Naruto and Sakura. I think of the latter as both best friends and siblings, so I think being best friends is great for the former as well.
So, in conclusion, yes I don’t ship Boruto and Sarada together for those three reasons I mentioned above. As a matter of fact, I don’t ship anyone in the next gen.
Or at least, not really, yet.
(ok this could probably be the fourth reason.)
Because, you see, a certain someone has become my most fav character of the next gen. Right now, him and Sarada are the only next gen characters I love and deeply care about. Moreover, his panels with Sarada together have mostly been so intriguing, as if foreshadowing a significant dynamic between them in the future.
I am so intrigued by them right now to the point I may also support them as a ship. It’s because I’m kind of willingly opening up so much to the idea of both of them together (and I am fully aware the chance for that is most likely low)
Still, I’m not the type to be invested with a ship until at least one is confirmed to have a romantic feeling for the other. That’s just how I am. So, no, I don’t ship them for real (yet). For now, I just want them to be friends and enjoy the interactions they have had and will have.
And I do think they can be good friends and have a bond through their admiration for Naruto.

I hope I make sense with this answer.

A Court of Thorns and Roses Book Review
So this book is a retelling of the Beauty and the Beast story, which I didn't know going into it. I knew there would be an element of romance, but I didn't think it would be the driving force of the plot. I thought it would be more like a Holly Black novel about the Fae, with LOTS of courtly intrigue and drama and romantic subplots. So maybe my opinion of this book is more biased because it wasn't the story I hoped it would be.
That aside, if you haven't read the book I'm gonna summarise it somewhere.
So the first thing I really didn't care for was the relationship our heroine, Feyre has with her family. Feyre is the youngest and hunts as the main breadwinner for her family. Her father and her sisters don't do anything to earn money for the family and she resents them for this. I feel that this just doesn't make sense, if they are all in this terrible situation together, why don't they do their part to help the family? The helpless family member trope, where the hero's family is useless and has to be saved or whatever by the hero, is something that I haaaaaate. I hate reading stories where the protagonist is the only one trying to help. The relationship between Katniss and her mom in the Hunger Games is another example of this.
One positive thing I do have to say about this novel is that the author isn't as afraid of sex for the first book of her series as a lot of YA authors are. Sarah J Maas already has a successful book series out, so I assume she is less worried about being censored for that sort of thing.
The other thing I didn't like was the romantic options for our protagonist.
Tamlin pretty much kidnaps her and their relationship dynamic has the same problems as Disney's Beauty and the Beast. Except unlike Belle and the Beast, Feyre and Tamlin aren't as sweet a couple. Tamlin is relatively indifferent to Feyre and at the beginning of their time together, she plans to put a knife in his back. He seems to find this almost amusing. (Also there's this weird scene about this festival thing or something that just felt wrong).
That brings us to Rhysand, the other possible love interest. He isn't any better than Tamlin. He is manipulative and cruel at times, but he has some sympathetic aspects of his character. The reasoning that would justify him and Feyre being a healthy couple are just about as (il)logical as the reasons Reylo shippers use to justify Rey and Kylo-Ren being together (Ugh I hate even thinking about that ship).
I don't mind love triangles, but when the protagonist has to choose between 2 assholes, I just hate them. Like they have to pick the "lesser evil" to date lol. I could go on a whole 'nother rant about love triangles…
Anyway, there were a few issues with pacing, foreshadowing, and info-dumping that aren't great (and mostly are related to the antagonist, Amarantha). But those are things I can live with.
There is one character that I really enjoyed, though. Lucien, friend of Tamlin, was my favourite character. He had such a well thought (but still tragic) backstory that was revealed during the exposition of the book (not at the pre-climax info-dump like Tamlin or during the falling action like Rhysand). He also is snarky, but not in a way that it completely stole the scene. I just generally liked him and I hope he survives the sequels.
I have one more teeny-tiny nitpick-y thing that bothered me. (Btw, If you made it this far, congratulations) The map at the front of the book looks soooo much like the UK, but there is just a basic medieval feel to the non-fae parts of the setting, not anything specifically Welsh, English, Irish or Scottish about it. I wish the mapmaker had at least tried to create an original map. :( (but that is super irrelevant and really just a mild annoyance).
In conclusion, if love triangles, curses, and pseudo-medieval settings are your thing, you will like A Court of Thorns and Roses.
