2013/1/16 Interview with Kaoru by Tatsuro (MUCC) on Tokyo FM (JACK IN THE RADIO)

Highlights

T: The coupling track (of Rinkaku) is so heavy! Its been 15 years since you first recorded Kiri to Mayu, right?

K: Yeh, I cant believe I've been in this band so long.

T: That was just around the time MUCC started. Its awsome when I think about it.

K: It was one of the first songs we wrote after we formed. We rented this kind of container in a warehouse, you know the type usually packed onto ships? And we all logded in there together for a week, and wrote some original songs of our own.

T: So at the very start you only had a handful of songs as Dir en grey? Where did Kiri to Mayu fall in the order of songs? What was the very first song you wrote?

K: The first ones were Aoi Tsuki, and Karma. And then Kiri to Mayu came a few songs later.

T: Do you play it live?

K: ...No

T: Hahaha

K: When we decided to re-do it, I listened to it for the first time in ages, and listening to the end was actually embarrassing.

T: What, because of the arrangement or something?

K: Because of everything!

T: So, the other song on the release is the Remix version of Rinkaku. This remix is by Yamaoka Akira, who created the soundtrack for the horror game Silent Hill. Why did you ask him to do it?

K: Well, we've known him for a while, and when we started thinking about including a remix, we wanted to find someone to do it who you wouldn't normally associate with this type of thing. So we thought of him, and when we asked him, he agreed.

T: Where did you meet him?

K: Well, like connections through work, he came to our lives and stuff.

T: Do you guys play video games?

K: Yeah, well...not much recently, but yeah.

T: What kind of games do you like?

K: RPGs I guess.

T: Like Dragon Quest?

K: Yeah.

T: Dir en grey plays Dragon Quest! Haha. Do you decide on the main character's name at the start?

K: Yeah, Kaoru.

T: Haha, you call it Kaoru?? Dir en grey uses Kaoru to destoy the Demon King in Dragon Quest?! How cute is that??

T: So later we will take some photos using Dir en grey's new single Rinkaku as inspiration. The theme will be 'Contoured Poses'. Ahh, this is tough. Should I do something? hahaha. Check out our mobile site if you wanna see.

T: Hahaha

K: Like, shiny lips, I like that.

K: Yeah.

NIGHT HEAD 2041 TV Anime Gets Stage Play in Japan in July

NIGHT HEAD 2014, a 2021 TV anime based on the 1992 TV drama about a pair of psychically-gifted brothers fleeing persecution in a dystopic near-future world, is being adapted into a stage play that will run in Tokyo in July of 2022. The main staff for NIGHT HEAD 2041-THE STAGE has been revealed, including:

#CORPSE PARTY SEIKO ALIVE SERIES#

She is found later in Chapter 5 with her tongue cut off and her name tag reveals that she did it to herself after being Driven to Suicide. Even though her appearance is an automatic Wrong End, she is first introduced as a girl clearly traumatized by Kizami and fearing for her life. Tohko Kirisaki, the girl Satoshi runs into in Chapter 4 if he fails to save Naomi.After Kibiki is killed by Naho, his last action is the pet Naho's head and apologize for what he had caused to her by leaving her alone. Kibiki's last moment before his death in the manga.The characters' voice acting make the scenes even more powerful, like Naomi's reaction to Seiko's death, Yoshiki's scream if Ayumi dies in a wrong ending and pretty much any time a character weeps. The same also holds true for the Tear-Jerker moments.

The Nightmare Fuel page for this series mentions the voice acting adds to the scary factor.Then she starts crying after finally getting a kiss from Naomi about how she's not ready to and doesn't want to die. It looks like Seiko is ready to die with no regrets if she gets her last request. Seiko has a last request from Naomi, a kiss. The secret scene in Chapter 4 where Naomi can say goodbye to Seiko in a dream.Seiko pulling Naomi out of darkening from beyond the grave, while mostly a moment of heartwarming, is still one of, if not the moment that'll bring on the tears, since the player learns this while Naomi and Satoshi are discussing the fact that not only will they never see Seiko again, nobody else in the entire world remembers that she even existed since she died in Heavenly Host.It's hard enough to imagine being a child going through that, but imagine what it was like for her mother, who didn't know that a little argument with her daughter would be the last time she spoke to her. This led to her being horrifically murdered. She ended up telling all of this to her teacher, Yoshikazu Yanagihori, who ended up kidnapping her on Sachiko's orders. She had a fight with her mother one morning and didn't want to go home after school. Yuki Kanno (one of the murdered children) is a not a happy figure.This turns into Heroic Sacrifice as he gives Naomi his paper doll scrap - one that's rendered meaningless when Ayumi kills her for it. One Wrong End sees Satoshi crossing the Despair Event Horizon after discovering Yuka's body.And it is pure heartbreak seeing Yui reminisce about happier days, cry out for her mother and father, and finally lament how cold and alone she feels as her life finally fades. We get to see the results of that sacrifice in the extra ending.When Ayumi is pulled up, she demands that they hurry and run, and tells them to live. She manages to hold on to the ledge (despite her terrible injuries!) with Ayumi clinging to her legs. Yui's Heroic Sacrifice in the Good Ending.She dies in her big brother's arms as Yoshiki and Ayumi curse their inability to do anything. She confesses her love to Satoshi and begs him to tell her he loves her, even if it's a lie. Yuka's Heroic Sacrifice in one of the Extra Ends.It's only when Ayumi and Yoshiki present Yoshikazu's doll under Naho Saenoki's suggestion that they go berserk and kill poor Mayu. But even then, they only put her to sleep and levitate her in the air to keep her out of reach, without actually harming her. The children seem to be quite fond of her for it, and don't even hurt her until Ayumi and Yoshiki show up and try to get her to leave. This leads to her decision to stay in the infirmary and chat with them. The reason she's killed that way is because, unlike most of the other people trapped in Heavenly Host, the mutilated appearance of the ghost children didn't scare her, but made her feel sorry for them instead. Mayu's gruesome death, especially when you take the circumstances behind it into account.Three words, repeated over and over again: " No hard feelings".Seeing Naomi try in vain to save her best friend is heart wrenching. You Have Been Warned.Considering it's a game about murder, it's little wonder that Corpse Party has some moments that just make you cry.
