in celebration of zhoumi’s starry night being released,

buckle in kids, here’s the crash course to super junior M (cue airhorns)

SJM (M standing for Mandarin) was formed in 2008, and was SM’s first group to directly target the Chinese(-speaking) market. Similar to the way other Korean artists had made debuts in Japan and released Japanese content, SM wanted to do the same but in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and other Chinese-speaking markets. (yum capitalism)

If Super Junior’s original rotating/graduation concept was the predecessor to NCT, Super Junior M was the precursor to SM’s younger Chinese-facing groups, EXO-M and WayV. The key difference I’d point out is that SJM is perhaps the most intentionally multilingual in terms of their track releases; they always record a Korean version of their mini album title track, and Perfection also had a Japanese version. Meanwhile, EXO-M was separate from EXO-K at the beginning because they had two distinct groups of 6 promoting the same song in two different languages, while WayV only (so far) releases in Mandarin (barring the English version of Love Talk).

The original lineup consisted of Hangeng, Zhoumi, Siwon, Donghae, Ryeowook, Kyuhyun, and Henry. After Hangeng left SJ/SM, they added in Eunhyuk and Sungmin to round the group out to 8 members.

There was a ton of controversy surrounding the addition of Zhoumi and Henry, because they were not part of the original 12-13 members (RIP kyuhyun for not being part of Twins/Knockout LMAO) that made up Super Junior. K-ELFs were worried that adding new members would take the spotlight away from current members and hurt the group as a whole. This “conflict” was handled very poorly, which lead to SM drawing a line between Super Junior and Super Junior M membership. Zhoumi and Henry were officially confirmed to be SJM-only members, and would never promote with SJ proper.

Video/track list for the uninitiated, and for those looking for a trip down memory lane (I’ve mostly picked live performances bc the MVs and lyric vids are fairly easy to find) below the cut!

SJM’s discography mostly falls into two easily distinguishable buckets: the SJ funky sound (think Sorry Sorry, Bonamana, Mr. Simple, Sexy Free & Single), and (Chinese) ballads.

I was also noticing while compiling their signature songs that SJM’s lyric content is generally heavily centered around love and relationships

(this is also the song Donghae was singing during that one clip where suju pretends to forget how super clap goes)

If you watch the MV, you get SNSD’s Jessica making a cameo appearance in the house party scenes.

I really have to thank Perfection for giving us the longest all-English rap in Super Junior history...even if the SM English is quite c r i n g e (it didn’t hit me till recently that Suju’s love for singing “boom” and “clap” started with Perfection)

I specifically picked this performance because it’s the only one where they switched it up and sung the Korean verses with the Chinese chorus (VALID! because honestly...if you look up any of the Korean versions of their songs...they are very obviously subpar because the flow of the phonemes is clunky)

Swing

The general gist of the lyrics is a “cheer up, you can power through” message that’s fairly similar to Mr. Simple

The latest hit from SJM, all the way back from 2014, because SJM literally has not had a comeback since before Label SJ was an entity.

Even though it’s not my favorite track, Swing is important bc it was the first comeback they had a slew of Korean promos for (music shows, radio slots, variety show appearances), and they also placed first in China’s first ever music show broadcast.

Blue Tomorrow

SJM also released a decent number of very on-brand love ballads. Blue Tomorrow is that lovely bittersweet breakup ballad you didn’t know you needed.

An A+ sappy ballad, 10/10 would listen to again (i’ve run out of video embeds so i’ll leave it to you to find)

Ahh welcome to the Kyu cult stans club! he’s adorable I love him so much

anyway! since I covered the basics in my last post, I’ll be jumping straight into the members I didn’t discuss last time.

Past Members:

Kibum (Kim Kibum)

he doesn’t even look like the same person i’m-

Kibum was a part of the original SuJu lineup in 2005 as a vocalist. In 2006 he began acting, and slowly began focusing on his solo career more and more. He was completely absent from “Sorry, Sorry” promotions and “Bonamana” as well. He left SM and SuJu officially in 2015. He’s in Attack of the Pin Up Boys (a movie starring all 12 of the original SuJu members) as the narrator. He’s a good actor and he’s been in a movie and a drama with my wife Go Ara, so you know he’s got some talent. I personally don’t keep up with him much, so there’s not much I can offer on terms of his personality.

Hangeng/Hankyung (Han Geng)

He was the original leader of Super Junior-M until his departure in 2009. He left after filing a lawsuit claiming SM’s 13 year exclusive contracts were unfair, and also revealed that SM had refused to give him a day off in over two years, resulting in health issues. Hangeng won, but SM filed a appeal and later Hangeng and SM reached ‘mutual agreement’. He was also Heechul’s best friend and he’s a huge sweetheart, please listen to his solo stuff! He hasn’t put out music in three years now, but he has such a nice, calming voice

Super Junior-M Members:

Zhoumi (Zhou Mi)

This precious baby, my SON, is Zhoumi. I know I said before I wouldn’t talk about main or lead positions, but Zhoumi is the main vocalist of Super Junior-M and his voice is so goooooooood. He just dropped a new MV and honestly I love him so much, his solo stuff is amazing, I want to squish him He’s so close with his members and it honestly fuels me in life. He’s also the only fully Chinese member in Super Junior-M.

Henry (Henry Lau)

I honestly debated putting him here or in past members, since Henry left SM in April of 2018 and effectively left Super Junior-M. The maknae of Super Junior-M, Henry is also a undercover comedian in his own right. He’s got so many funny moment compilations I don’t know where to begin. He’s also close friends with Mark Lee from NCT. Henry is honestly one of the funniest idols I’ve ever witnessed, and his solo music is full of bops. He’s also an amazing violinist and is even the “mysterious violinist” in SuJu’s “Don’t Don” MV! Stan talent, stan Henry Lau

Members on Hiatus:

Kangin (Kim Youngwoon)

The “dad” of SuJu, he’s been on hiatus since 2016, when he committed his second DUI (the first being in 2009). He’s also had the police called on him and some say he assaulted his girlfriend, but the official report says the woman did not press charges and it was simply an argument.

He loves his members, and he’s truly a great singer (pls give him more lines when he comes back). He’s amazing and I hope he learns his lesson and is able to return to the group soon.

Sungmin (Lee Sungmin)

The cutest not-makne around! Sungmin has been on hiatus since 2015, when he got married. When SuJu announced their plans to return, ELFs protested again his presence in the group and he issued an apology and said he wouldn’t be joining SuJu when PLAY came out. if y’all pull the same shit again i will hunt you down and throw hands. He’s honestly just so cute, this gif is ruining me as we speak

Kyuhyun (Cho Kyuhyun)

oh boy. oh no. you guys opened the floodgates. a whole can of loving kyuhyun is ready to be served. i spent forever even just looking for a gif for this

Kyuhyun, the forever maknae of SuJu. I’m pretty sure he has the voice of a Greek god, and you can quote me on that. He’s incredibly dorky and sweet and just??? His smile owns my entire heart. He is the softest man alive and his hair is so fluffy! I love it!!! He’s so cute! and evil His hiatus is set to end May 24th, 2019, when he returns from military service. He’s also earned himself the title of “ballad king”. He’s called “vicious tongue”, but he loves his members and hopefully his return from the military will convince SM to bring OT11 back together again.

So this is a variety show that someone thought was a good idea to make, and the result is a funny show with a bunch of crackheads dorks running it. They have different groups on as guests. The lovely person who runs the tumblr @supertvsubs has the episodes subbed and available for download

SJ Returns:

A reality TV show that showcased SuJu and aired in 2017. I can’t find a reliable source that has all the episodes, but I’m sure you can find them around on YouTube with a little searching.

no other suffered the same as the best sj song, choreo concept it's you, that no ther was in the shadow of bonamana and it's you in the biggest shadow of sorry sorry. i feel like it's you is no one fav but every one fave at the same time... and btw i really like sapphire blue, because is cute and all 13 sang it and in the concert zhoumi and henry have performed it too so my ot15 heart dreams of it (on the other hand i've never liked acha never heard it full)

yeah unfortunately repackages most of the time end up in the shadow of the main song (with lo siento being an exception because it was the first latin-kpop song) and “it’s you is no one fav but every one fave at the same time” you’re absolutely right omg

putting aside how it’s you is a great song on its own, the choreography is really something else (i could watch the dancer version forever) and the outfits wERE EVERYTHING (especially sungmin and kyuhyun’s 👏🏽👌🏽) but at least suju still perform it at their concerts (even though most of the time with a different choreo) but no other hasn’t been performed since ss3 D:

another repackage that isn’t as appreciated is this is love, even though its part of the tracklist of the main album mamacita, it’s a wonderful song good enough to be the title song of the repackage album (and the mv is one of my fav suju music videos thank you shindong you’re amazing ❤️)

meanwhile acha, spy and magic are the deliberately forgotten repackages by suju but spy has escaped that since elf have been demanding spy to be performed since suju showed how much they hate it 😂

My niece renames Kpop groups

**With my notes, because sometimes they’re needed to make sense of what’s going through her mind. She definitely repeats things, so there are a few people with the same name (but that already happens in Kpop, so it fits) or part of the same name, even within the same group. Twice has two members named Pool in my niece’s version. She also asked several times afterward if the name she said was Korean lol. She switches between saying random sounds and objects after I asked her to do shorter names so I could write them down and to say actual names, so she started naming objects. Super Junior Reaction when you are 10 years younger then them and receive criticism / hate

Leeteuk

So since Leeteuk is the eldest and is used to having a lot of criticism and hate fall on his shoulders as the leader, he would understand your feelings. He would know what it would feel like to be judged for something you just couldn’t help. Yeah you were ten years younger then him, but both of you were adults. He would continually tell you to just ignore them and concentrate on your relationship with him because that was more important then a bunch of people’s horrible comments.

‘Just look at me, not the damn comments. I love you Y/N and that isn’t going to change over a few opinions.’

‘I don’t want this to affect your career though, Teuk.’

‘You are worth more then my career, my love, and I will fight for us.’

Heechul

Okay so we know that Heechul is somewhat in the news like every three months due to his sexuality, so he would know how to help you deal with this. The sassy member would of course try and fight back verbally and tell you that just because you are young, it doesn’t mean that you mean any less to him. He would hold you in his arms when he found you crying in the bedroom and calm you down with his sweet words and kisses on your head.

‘So what if you are young? I don’t look my age either so people have not right to judge!’

‘That’s not the point, Chul…they hate me with you.’

‘And my point is that I don’t give a shit about their thoughts because you are all I think about anyway.’

Yesung

Yesung would be upset that you were upset. He would not like the way the negative comments would be affecting you. You were beautiful and flawless to him, but seeing your frowning face was nothing like your bubbly self. He would try and comfort you with some silly turtle comedy or make one of his many derp faces (just him imitating Siwon, really). You appreciated his efforts and couldn’t help but smile when he was just looking plain ass silly now.

‘You look like a fool, Yesung.’

‘But it made you smile, didn’t it?! Jagi forget about the stupid comments and just focus on my face!’

‘That handsome amazing face of yours…thank you.’

Kangin

With the current situation of Kangin, he knew what it felt to be judged for every little thing now. He would notice how you were less happy, always wanting to stay inside and not go out over the weekend let alone go out for dinner with him. He would tell you to stop reading the bad comments but would still find you attached to your phone once again and torturing yourself over some peoples stupid criticism.

‘I’m going to take that phone away if you don’t stop hurting yourself.’

‘I can’t help is, Kangin…they hate me.’

‘But I love you so forget them!’

Shindong

Shindong knew the moment that he made his relationship public with you, that you would get some backlash. But he never imagined it would get to this extent. Even though he said you shouldn’t worry about it, he was worried for you more. Worried about you receiving all this criticism and hate because of something as simple as your age. He would come home and find you sitting by the window with your phone lighting up with a new comment every second. He would switch it off and pull you into his arms.

‘It’s okay, I am here…let it all out baby.’

‘I can’t do this anymore, Dong…’

‘I know but can you try a little harder just for me…just for us?’

Sungmin

The soft soul that is Sungmin, he would be very hurt about all the hatred that was coming your way. He would also check your SNS to see the comments and would cringe when he read all the harsh words. People judging you and saying you were only with him for money and fame, and once you got it, you would just dump him. That comment stung the most to you and made you honestly just want to end it with Sungmin. You loved him enough to know that this was not healthy for either of you.

Hyuk would be furious with this hatred. He would go straight to SM and demand that those who are harassing you should be dealt with legally. You would hear about this and go and confront him. You were sad and angry about what everyone was saying toward you but you didn’t like it that Eunhyuk was putting his head on the line for you. Hyuk would not care what you thought because your safety was all he wanted to have.

‘Stop trying to stop me!’

‘You are going overboard! They hate me, don’t make them start hating you to, Hyuk.’

Zhoumi

Gentleman Zhoumi would not like the words being sprawled on both yours and his SNS. He wouldn’t be as vocal and straight forward as Eunhyuk, but he would like for it to be handled. He knew what it felt like to be criticised due to being Chinese but age was really going overboard for him. He didn’t understand why people just couldn’t stay out of your business. He knew this was affecting you because you didn’t come over as often nor did you want to attend events with him that was something social.

‘Please just come out, the awards will be fun Y/N’

Donghae

Donghae would be like Sungmin, he would be offended as well by all the hate you were receiving. The dancer was always known to be soft hearted so it wouldn’t be a surprise when he got really upset over the harsh letters that the fans were getting delivered to you. You would be sitting at home and reading yet another note, tears streaming down your face as the person pointed out all of your flaws and reasons why you shouldn’t be with Donghae.

‘Stop reading them.’

‘I can’t help it, they just coming on a daily basis.’

‘Then how about I send you flowers instead. They more beautiful and suit you more then these harsh words that speak no truth!’

Siwon

Siwonnie would be like Eunhyuk, he would want legal action taken right away! If the company wasn’t going to allow it then he would do it personally. He was getting tired of receiving late night calls, letters and shoutings from outside his apartment. He just couldn’t understand why people were so obsessed with your age. He knew that you were still very young but he still loved you regardless. Sitting in the lounge, you just sat in darkness before Siwon arrived home.

‘Stop thinking about it.’

‘It’s hard when we get evening serenades every night, Siwon!’

‘Well then how about we go and have a relaxing bath, help get your mind of it?’

Ryeowook

Wook would be devastated to hear that you were receiving so much hate. But what he would be most sad about was that you kept this away from him. Even though Ryeowook didn’t use social networking that often, he was still pretty clued up. When he came across multiple articles about the issue, he now knew why he would find you crying some late evenings. When he asked you why, you would lie to him and he would of course fall for them but not tonight.

‘Why are you hiding this from me? So what if you are younger then me, I don’t care!’

‘I know you don’t but they do and it is my stupid issue.’

‘And you are important to me, so thus this is my issue as well jagi…I hate seeing you suffer.’

Kyuhyun

Kyuhyun would walk straight into the house, see you sitting at the dining room table with your head in your hands. He would walk pass you to the wine cellar, grab the best bottle he had and along with some glasses before coming to sit by you. He knew you had been having a hard time for the past few months, and he knew that wine fixed everything (well according to him), regardless of the circumstance. He would pour the wine, make you look at him so he could wipe your tears and place a kiss on your forehead.

‘Forget them.’

‘I try but they just keep coming back, Kyu.’

‘Well forget about them now and just focus on me. Focus on the love and attention I am giving you because that is more important then some peoples irrelevant opinion.’

Henry

Just like Zhoumi, Henry would be similar due to being Canadian and Chinese at the same time. He would be practicing his violin on his day off at home, hearing the door slam he knew that it was another crappy day. He would find you in the bedroom, plastered across the bed and just dead quiet. He knew that the hatred was starting to become more hostile as the days went by. You had wanted to go back to your home country on numerous occasions, thinking they would then just forget about you but Henry said he would never allow you to be so far away. So distant from him.

‘I’m really considering moving back, Henry.’

‘And break my heart? If that is the way you wish to go, then I will leave with you. I can’t stand not being with you, Y/N. You are my world and will do everything in my power to make sure that you remain in it.’

Hangeng

Okay so I believe Hangeng would be a mixture of Siwon and Sungmin because the Chinaman has a very strong and intimidating demure, but also a soft and sensitive side. Your constant tears would eventually be his down fall. Every drop shed, he would die a little inside to a point when he was walking in the streets with you and someone shouted a very cruel and harsh comment. Within seconds he snapped and told the person off before walking off with you.

‘Next time I will do worse then just verbally lash out!’

‘Calm down, they are gone.’

‘I’m sorry you had to see that side of me…it just makes me so angry when you are treated horribly for nothing!’

Kibum

So Kimmy Kibum would not like your sad atmosphere. His smile would always brighten up your mood, but today it had failed because everyone else had finally succeeded in crushing your spirits. Everyday you would try and keep your head held high but today you had reached your limit. You were done! Charging home, you went straight to the bedroom to pack your bag. You needed to get out of here and just live on a deserted island or something. Just a place away from all this negative energy.

‘I hope you packing for a romantic weekend away.’

‘More like a permanent vact….wait what?’

Leeteuk:

- The Best Class’s President of the year - aaaand nobody listen to him - loves to have a chat with the teachers, an attention-seeker - When the teacher is absent, he’s the one who would know it first, and ask for replacement task so everyone knows he’s in charge. - he sits on first row, beside Kibum and in front of Heechul - LT: “Guys, Kim Seongsaenim can’t teach us today, I think he’s fall from the cliff or something, but I asked for assignment, YEAH!!” The others: “...” HC: “Let’s kill him.” - He has this one nerdy girl who always been crushing on him. He knows that but pretends to be clueless so he doesn’t have to break her heart. - Is on Charity club and Student Communication Center Club. - Wears white everyday. One time he wears all white from top to toe, and the school janitor thought he’s spirit of clean-ness - always bring wet tissue/? and handkerchief in his bag just to wipes something dirty (OCD alert)

Heechul:

- The Narcissistic Flower-Boy but has a LOT of fans - Supposed to be second-in-command but he can’t even lead himself - Trust me his personality it’s getting better every year, now people can look at him in the eye - rumored to be gay because... - The Exchange Student form China who happens to be stuck with other 14 idiots. - Lives in Students Dormitory with Zhoumi and Henry - is on Martial Arts club and Korean Language Club - Sits on Second row beside Heechul and Henry, Behind Kibum and In front of Zhoumi (Ha... good luck for imagining that...) - Teacher: *explains something* HG: “Henry, can you explain that again to me?” HR: “Idk hyung, I’m not Korean” HG: “Zhoumi, Can you..” ZM: “I’m not Korean either hyung...” HG: “Kibum, do you understand--” HC: “FOR GOD SAKE HANGENG YOU HAVE ME!” - the victim of language and culture barrier. One time Kangin was asked him what he has for a pet, instead of answered, “dog” he said, “crab” - still bring chinese lunch although it’s his third year on Korea - has the most blank faces in every classes. - his parents are rich because they are one of successor from China, but he prefer to be quiet about it than taking a risk to be robbed by his shameless friends (as in 13 of them, except Siwon)

Yesung:

- The weird guy who makes you question things - his fashion style kinda emo but rebel/? - sits on fourth row, beside Shindong and behind Eunhyuk, all he do is sleep in class - is joining the school band as vocalist. Guess what their genre is... yup, EMO. - when he’s bored he goes to people on the second row to touch their philtrum. But he ends up getting slapped by Heechul. - Cass: *in chaos* YS: *humming in song* “Is there anything I could help?” KB: “Yes hyung, we need you to shut up!” - bad at math but good at art - is on School band and Musical-Drama club - has crush on his keyboardist but it goes away when he knows she doesn’t like turtles - client of detention because sleeping in classes - annoyed by Eunhyuk all the time because there is this ‘rivalry’ thing between dance club and musical club, but when it comes to class he just annoyed because Eunhyuk like to tease him about his voice - the others make him promise to not wondering around when there is school trip, because if we lose him, the world is the one in danger, not him

Kangin:

- The one of those Unpopular High-School Jock - always wear his baseball uniform although there were no training that day - sat on the fourth row, beside Shindong and behind Sungmin - best-friends with Leeteuk since he has to persuade him to not tell teacher if he did something wrong - was a school bullyer since he has big figure, but rn he’s just lazy - mistaking Heechul as a girl ONCE, and he regret having a crush on him in the past - KI: “Hey Wookie, Can I copy your homework?” RW: “I don’t think all the answers of my homework are correct” KI: “Well, Is that what I’m asking for?” - client of detention because sleeping in classes.2 - is on Basketball Team and Video Games Club - He was bullying Sungmin in their first grade but now they end up in same class make him more sorry towards him - Don’t worry, Sungmin forgive him although he still can’t be 3 meters around Kangin, face to face. - He always treat the guys especially eunhae since both of them look pitiful

- The Class’s snack storage and Division of Documentation - He prefer to sat in last row, in between Kangin and Yesung, also behind Zhoumi - He’s a Mama boy, so if you wonder where all the foods he has came from, yep it’s his mother - this guy hates pizza and noodles and it makes all the guys love him even more - SD: *leaves the class with full box of pizza* HC: “Yah yah yah, fatso! Where are you going?” SD: “uh.. throwing these? wae hyung? wanna some? I don’t eat pizza” HC: “huh, I guess world is indeed fair” - he doesn’t like to take photograph, so he’s the one who works behind camera instead - is on Screen-writing Club and Food Club - people always treat him like a kid, HE IS KIYOWO THO - This boy doesn’t care basically love ‘jaeyuk’ more than girls - if the class is more crowded than the usually, there must be a ‘wrestling competition’ between him and Kangin - He has been the winner of that competition for 5 consecutive weeks

- The All-Time High School Sweethearts - He always be that guy who stare at the window in classes, with earphone on both ears and calm looks on his face - speaking of window, he sit on third row beside the window, behind Heechul and in front of Kangin, Zhoumi in his other side. - Sorry girls, he has girlfriend on math class - He used to be nerdy with those big specs but puberty hit him hard - He became popular since his girlfriend is Vice-President of student organization - Heechul always think that he’s the true gay in class, but when he knows Sungmin got a girlfriend, damn tears. - is a genius on learning new language. - The Gamer with Mouth full-of Sarcasm - that one guy who never pay attention on class but always get the 2nd rank - Leeteuk would always be the one who snatch his phone or game out of his hand so he would interact with others - he sits in first row between Kibum and Ryeowook, also in front of Henry - there is one time when Kyuhyun made Donghae cry because he said Donghae is useless - HG: “I can’t believe you said that, I’m mad at you!” KH: “Hi Mad At You, I’m Kyuhyun! Nice to meet you” - is on Algebra club and starcraft club - the boys never let him goes into argument with Heechul, there would be no end - but sometimes Heechul is his companion on playing starcraft and mock the others in sarcasm - everyone call him “Evil Junior” - He almost killed Yesung’s turtle by giving it a camphor - Siwon’s second target of purifying soul

Henry:

- The one little bastard - he came from Canada but his soul is Germany - likes to hide porn inside Eunhyuk’s table, so he’s the one who get blamed - sits in seond row, between Hangeng and Siwon, Behind Kyuhyun and In front of Eunhyuk. - since his cheeks are chubby, the hyungs often pinch it so it gets red - SD: “I get nervous when you get silent in the corner of the room” HR: “Waeyo hyung?” SD: “Molla...” *look at Henry’s magazine* - is on Violin Club and DJ Club - his parents is Korean, but they lived in Canada for 7 years and now forget how to talk in hangul/? - his favorite hyung is Heechul since he’s always on his side whenever porn is involved - HC: “HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT MY BABY WATCH PORN, HE’S INNOCENCE!” LT: “HE FREAKKING NAMED THE FILE “TISSUE NEEDED”, HOW COME I’M NOT SUSPICIOUS!” - he sleeps on the same bed as Hangeng because he’s skinnier than Zhoumi

Leeteuk- Leeteuk was on his phone sitting outside by a window turning around he saw you doing some beautiful graceful dancing, in awe he forgot he was on the phone and stared, “oh sorry I was watching my girlfriend do some amazing pirouettes”

Heechul-

Was leaning back on the practice room floor watching you come up with a dance watching how long and elegant you looked dancing he smiled he watched you do a fouette across the room doing your end pose you looked towards him and he lost the smile trying not show you his interest

Yesung- Yesung always has been the supportive boyfriend and when you and Ten have a dance together and you had to practice your part, doing your ending pose you did a grand adage his face was in shocked but watching you in your pose you stumbled as you stood back on your two legs he started chuckling finding you super cute, he knows you will be the best out there.

Kangin- Kangin was listening to music and going for a run when he was “passing by” your house when he saw you in your living room wearing your point shoes you brought your leg up to a above your head stretching. He was in such amazement he forgot he was breathless from the run but more breathless from how beautiful you look in your own element. Slowly standing up he felt enchanted by you.

Shindong- Shindong and you were in the lunch room when he noticed you weren’t eating but stabbing your food with the chopsticks, "are you okay Jagi?” You told him about your ballet audition and he laughed, “you are a ballet dancer? I bet you can’t bring your leg all the way up,” chucking to himself he looked up and saw how you did it flawlessly he was so taken back he stopped laughing and started praising.

Sungmin- Sungmin was looking for you all over the company and he finally found one place he thought NCT 127 was in because of the up-tempo music he was hearing, opening the door quietly hoping not to bother NCT if it was them he was so dumbfounded when he saw you do a beautiful grande jete he has ever seen, only dancers in pictures could do that and here his talented girlfriend was leaping in the air right in front of him.

Eunhyuk- You were showing him your audition for SM because he didn’t believe you got in without singing, because he heard your voice before. Asking you to show him you still having the song on your phone doing everything that you remember, finishing with such a beautiful ending towards the floor you stood up and looked at him breathless. With his professional face on he said, “well being a dancer myself I know if I did that I would of probably of pulled something” he said then laughed to hugged you.

Siwon- Siwon was watching you dance to a soft emotional ballad finding you the most attractive woman ever he wanted to capture the moment but not to scare you by filming you, so he did the one thing he can bringing his hands up into a square he framed only you and programed this image of an angel into his mind, wishing he could move so effortlessly like you.

Zhoumi- Zhoumi was sitting with you eating ramyun, he was watching you scroll threw your phone and you passed a video that had you in it, seeing it he grabbed your phone and opened the video. Watching you doing your ballet audition he was amazed at how talented you are, embarrassed you took your phone back and turned it off hiding your face. Stuffing his mouth with ramyun he looked at you and smiled, “your cute when you turn red” he tapped your nose.

Donghae-

Donghae walked in on you doing your ballet practice watching you in your zone he was smitten by you, you did one spin and dropped to the floor, he did a small jump but then chuckled as you lay there breathless and got up, looking at you he asked cutely, “are you okay?” smiling he helped you up and hugged you giving you a milk drink.

Ryeowook-

Ryeowook was walking down towards the building entrance when he saw from the window you were with dancing effortlessly with Winwin of NCT 127, Kai of EXO and Victoria of F(x) the dance was intense and perfect he slowed down his walk almost stopping in his tracks, he knew there were others in the room but his eyes was glued to you and how you were comfortable with SM other great artist.

Kyuhyun-

Kyuhyun was coming over to take you out for lunch as he walked up towards your door and was stop dead to see you getting caught up in your music in your headphones freestyling your lyrical dance while you waited for him what you didn’t noticed was he was standing there watching you being your cute and precious self. Stopping you saw him asking him how long he was standing there he looked around confused and pointed at himself “oh no I just got here, ready?” he said smiling those cute mankae smile. Looking at him knowing he was lying you know you couldn’t be mad.

Henry-

Henry was on the hunt for Amber and was looking all over the building for her, hearing music coming from a room he thought maybe she was in there, opening the door quick to find her but instead he found his girlfriend doing a ballet piece to his music, he awe and honoured he looked around as you spun your way to one corner to the next, he smiled and shut the door fast but quietly. His heart fluttered as he thought to himself that he must of fell more in love with you and couldn’t be any happier, he felt his cheeks turn red from joy. But first he must find Amber and he set off again.

세븐틴 (Seventeen)

Hello, my lovely readers! Welcome back to Kpop Trash. For this post, like I stated in the previous post, I will be talking about Seventeen members. I had said that because there were so many of them, it would have been too much information for the previous blog post. Let's begin. Recall that there are 13 members of Seventeen: S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino. I'm going to throw out some fun facts about them. First up and the oldest is, S.Coups. He trained in Pledis for 6 years. He was supposed to be a part of NU’EST. He was preparing to be in a 5-member group called Tempest before the group was disbanded to merge into what is now Seventeen. He hates lemons. He has been practicing Taekwondo for 7 years. He is a black belt. He is considered the dad of the group because he’s the oldest and because he has the most experience. When he plays video games, he can be very aggressive. He was the one who came up with his stage name. The S stands for “Seventeen” and “Seungcheol”, and the Coups stands for “big success”. His real name means “Winning (Seung) Fairly (Cheol)”. He puts on a strong front because he hates showing off his weak side. Truthfully, he is very fragile inside. His nickname “Beagle King” comes from him being stronger than his friends and his hyungs. He is very strict with his other members. He says he tries to be a role model for all of the other trainees. He originally was planning to become a vocalist, but he fell in love with rap and hip-hop. He lets fans that are older than him call him “Oppa”. He loves the rooftop of his company’s building. He says he can ease his heart there. His other members voted him to be the manliest out of all of them. He dreams of becoming an actor. Next is Jeonghan. He likes Korean food, especially stews and chicken. He says Joshua was the first member to approach him when he first became a trainee. He says he’s closest to Joshua among all the Seventeen members. He doesn’t really like candies. He was voted by the other members as the member with the best personality. He’s envious of Seungkwan’s vocal skills. He calls himself ‘Angel’ because his birthday is on October 4th (1004 in Korean is “Cheonsa” which means “Angel”). Between 20 and Adore U, he prefers 20. His ideal type girl is someone who loves them and buys their albums. The meaning behind his real name is that Jeong means clean and Han means Country. It has the meaning that he will be like a clean milky way. He ranks himself third best visuals in the group. He says he’s the weakest member in the group. He gets tired easily and sleeps whenever and wherever he can. When he feels sleepy at the broadcasting stations, he would tell everyone he needs to use the washroom but he’s secretly sleeping there for 5 minutes. He looks up to SHINee’s Taemin because he has shown a lot of growth from his debut album until now, so he hopes he can be like that and be helpful to the vocal team. He says he seems quiet but he’s actually not like that.Between dating someone older or younger, he prefers someone older because he needs someone to take care of him. These facts are funny right? I'm dying at some and all the information is according to pledis17.com. Next is Joshua. He likes reading, sleeping, eating, playing the guitar and singing. His favorite colors are Blue, Black, Brown & Pink. His favorite sport is Football. He loves anime. His favorites are One Piece, Naruto & Bleach. He’s a christian. He’s envious of Jihoon’s dancing & singing skills. He plays the guitar really well. His parents are his role models. His favorite korean artist is 2BiC. He would choose music over food. He loves the show Adventure Time. He doesn’t like the color green. He likes the korean drama Rooftop Prince. He likes horror movies. He likes Chris Brown, Usher, Eminem & Tupac. His favorite youtube artists are Gabe Bondoc, AJ Rafael & Jeff Bernat. He can cook. He loves chicken. He finds British accents hot. His favorite animals are rabbits. His favorite korean actor is Jang Donggun. He loves fairy tales. He said music is his life. He’s a fan of EXO. He is on Team Jacob in the Twilight series. He prefers books over movies. He joined Pledis Entertainment and began his training in 2013. He finds it difficult to ask people for favors. His ideal type girl is someone who is kind. Between 20 and Adore U, he prefers 20. The meaning behind his name Joshua is that it’s a name from the bible. He views himself as a calm person. He attended church often when he lived in America. He was apart of the praise team and played the guitar. He is named Seventeen’s gentleman because he doesn’t get angry easily and talks softly. He wants to be like Shinhwa and be a team for a long time with a good relationship with the members. He wants to be a dutiful son to his parents and work hard and make them proud. When he lived in America, he would speak Korean at home and English at school so he is good at speaking it but not good at writing it. Between soccer or basketball, he prefers soccer. His favorite flavor of ice-cream is kiwi. I'm mostly doing a blog post so you guys can see which Seventeen members you are closest with so you can form a bong and get more into kpop. There is also Jun. He knows Wushu. He plays the piano. He is an actor in China. According to Seungkwan, Junhui is known as the mother of the group. He likes spicy foods. He adapts easily to new places. He likes to read books. He admires NU'EST’s Ren. His ideal type girl is someone who is pure and clean looking. He also likes sexy girls. He said the most memorable judge on Seventeen Project was Lucky J’s Jessi. He said because of her, he cut his hair for their debut. The meaning behind his real name is that Moon means 'good at studying’, Jun means ‘handsome’ and Hui means ‘i can do better’. His stage name Jun came from his real name Junhui. He says many Chinese students love kpop and that’s how he became curious about it and moved to Korea. He says he’s in charge of quiet handsome boy. He ranks himself third most handsome in the group. He likes to hide a lot of Chinese and Korean snacks in his bag. He doesn’t eat them all at once, but eats them many times but the members eat all his snacks sometimes. Jelly snacks are his favorite. He likes 2+1. He likes to sing Chinese songs but he feels a little shy singing them in front of the members. His role models are Zhoumi and Henry because he wants to receive a lot of love from China and Korea like them. He wants to be an all-round entertainer and show the nice images of Seventeen to Chinese people. He said it was good to learn Korean but the pronunciation was very hard for him. Between dressing up or dressing down, he prefers dressing up. He is envious of coups confidence on stage and body. And then there's Hoshi. He had braces before, but had them removed. He speaks Japanese very well. He speaks basic Chinese. His favourite colours are black & white. He likes Beyonce & Omarion. He was voted by the other members as the member with the most aegyo. He was voted by the other members as the most hard working member, along with Jihoon. He’s envious of Seungcheol’s muscles. He would like to meet Chris Brown, Usher, Beyonce & SHINee. He has no experience in dating. His mother told him to study first and date girls later in college. He said it was difficult to wake up for school but he’s happy now that he has graduated. He wants a girlfriend where he could give her chocolates and in return, receive a big kiss and a hug. His stage name “Hoshi” means ‘Star’ in Japanese. The name was given to him because of how charismatic he is on stage. He likes Japanese food. He choreographs most of Seventeen’s routines. He said the hardest time in his life was when his friends and family would ask him when he would debut but he couldn’t tell them since he didn’t know himself. His ideal type girl is someone who is fragrant and likes him. The meaning behind his real name is that Kwon means ‘power’, Soon means ‘innocent and Young means ‘glorious’. It means be powerful by being innocent and glorious. He thinks he’s a powerful team leader for the Performance team. He is a black belt in Taekwondo and was a Taekwondo champion when he was young. He says Taekwon poses are similar to dance moves and that’s how he became interested in dancing. When he was in middle school, he created his own dance club and participated in competitions and won first in city competition. He got casted by participating in the district competition. He likes to collect bizarre photos of the members. He deleted most of them in case he loses his phone. He says he has the most bizarre photos of DK. His role model is choreographer Keone Madrid. He says his dances are original and attracts people with the beats. He wants to be a person who is original and stylish when it comes to dance and improves himself by performing. S.Coups chose Hoshi as the member who could be the leader, he says he has a lot of charisma. Next is Wonwoo. He has a little brother named Jeon Bohyuk. He says his parents are his idols. He appreciates how hard they’ve worked throughout their lives. He’s scared of dogs. His ideal type girl is someone who suits him well. His favourite color is blue. His favourite subject is music. He’s envious of Jihoon’s piano skills. He likes pomegranate. He comes off cold due to his sharp eyes but in reality, he’s a nice guy. Between spicy rice cakes and ramen, he prefers ramen. He does not believe in love at first sight. He believes it’s rare to fall in love that quickly. He likes listening to sad music before he sleeps. He loves watching movies. He says he cries every time while watching the korean movie “Miracle in Cell No.7" He said if he could create a new unit, he’d want to be in it with Seungkwan, Mingyu, Hoshi, DK and Dino and he would name it ‘Comics’. The meaning behind his real name is that Won means ‘round’ and Woo means ‘help’. It means to live by helping out with a rounded heart. He says he looks cold but he’s a warm person. He took guitar classes after he moved to Seoul in his third year of middle school. He participated in Pledis auditions just for experience but passed the audition luckily. He started off as a singer but people told him he had a good voice for rapping. Since then, he looked into the Hip Hop scene and got noticed as a rapper and became apart of the Hip Hop team. He says people tell him he looks sexy when he’s tired. When he’s tired, he stares blankly and people tell him he looks really handsome. He ranks himself 3rd or 4th most handsome in the group. He says S.Coups is the most handsome to him because he’s very manly and has good leaderships. He looks up to him because of that. His role models are Lupe Fiasco and Tablo. He enjoys writing lyrics so he gets ideas from them. Between scary or comedy movies, he prefers scary movies. He doesn’t like aeygo. Seventeen voted Wonwoo as the cleanest member. He says he can’t do aeygo but can speak in a aegyo voice (cheeseburger aeygo). Then after Wonwoo, it's Woozi. He was a former member of ‘Tempest’ before Seventeen was created. He’s a big fan of Brian Puspos. He wants to meet Justin Bieber. He’s never had a girlfriend. He doesn’t even have friends that are girls. He plays the guitar & piano. His favorite dessert is Jjajangmyun (Black Bean Noodles) & Spicy Ramyun Noodles mix together. He’s a fan of the X-Men series. He likes watching films with Hugh Jackman in them. He likes sports. He was voted by the other members as the most hard working member, along with Soonyoung. He’s envious of Jisoo’s english. He likes dogs. He composes and makes the lyrics for most of Seventeen’s songs. He says he feels burdened being Seventeen’s composer because he’s afraid if they fail, it would be his fault. He views himself as being very calm, serious and careful. Because he’s a little too serious sometimes, he has the nickname ‘documentary’. The meaning behind his real name is that Ji means ‘know’, Hoon means ‘service’. It means to know my service. When he was younger, he did classic music for a long time. He played the clarinet and band instruments. He always enjoyed singing and people told him he had a good voice but he was doubtful. He participated in the Pledis auditions and passed. Since then, his knowledge on music has widened and it becomes more exciting to him each time. His role models are Chris Brown and Park Jin Young. Between winter or summer, he prefers winter. Between long hair or short hair, he prefers long hair. DK has chosen him as the member he was awkward with before, so Woozi started calling him Dokyeom-shi (formal). He can’t eat spicy food. After Woozi, it's DK. He was previously a student at YP Music Academy. He said when he first joined Pledis, he felt scared and lonely but he’s the member that got along with everyone the fastest. Hansol, Seungkwan & Jisoo think he’s the funniest member. He was voted by the other members as the member that likes to joke the most. He’s envious of Jihoon’s fair skin and sexy figure (body figure). His favorite food is Wenchang Chicken. He shares the same birthday as Vernon. He’s a very lively but sensitive person. He wants to be someone who can help others and give them hope. His ideal type girl is a girl with long dark hair, has aegyo and has long slender legs. His favorite number is 17. His favorite color is Black. The meaning behind his real name is that Seok means ‘big’ and Min means ‘precious gem stone’. It means to be a big existence like a precious gem stone. He says he has a great passion for the things he likes so sometimes he can get greedy when he sings. He says he likes to spend his time cheerfully so he likes to make others feel energetic but sometimes it can get out of control so he needs to have more self control. He dreamed of becoming a singer when he saw Yoon Dohyun’s performances in middle school. The amount of energy he had on stage and the way he interacted with the fans and shared their energy was very cool to him. His nickname is internal voice. The members call him that because he’s noisy when he’s practicing his singing and it sounds like a speaker. He sang karaoke a lot when he was in middle school and his friends told him his singing is good. Since then, he enjoys singing when his friends are playing a guitar. Now he always listens to songs whenever he’s resting and he continues to practice and improve his vocals. He loves rock bands. He was a part of a rock band when he was in middle school. His role model is Yoon Dohyun and Moon Myungjin. Between dating someone younger or older, he prefers someone older because he needs someone to take care of him. Next is Mingyu. He enjoys and wants to try acting someday. One of his favorite foods is meat. His favorite animals are dogs. He has a pet dog too. His favorite number is 17. If he had the opportunity, he would like to date someone older than him. He is left-handed. His favourite color is red. He was voted by the other members as the most handsome member. He was voted by the other members as the member whose looks and personality don’t match. He’s the shikshin of the group (member who eats the most). He’s envious of Junhui’s Wushu skills. He was voted by the other members as the member who’s most different from their first impressions of him. The members thought Mingyu was older than them when they first met him but after getting to know him, they feel like he’s a younger brother to them now. He is the tallest member in the group. He is closest to Wonwoo. His ideal type girl is a girl who is tall, kind-hearted & easy-going. Then The 8. He was the last member to join the group. His hobbies are singing, dancing, shopping and watching movies. His favorite season is Summer. His favorite number is 7. He has been practicing chinese wushu since he was 5 years old. His role models are his parents. He is a Christian and Buddhist. His ideal type girl is someone who is cute and kind. He participated and won first prize at the National Children’s martial arts competition. The meaning behind his stage name is that the number 8 is a number well liked by many people in China and when the 8 is laid down, the infinite sign appears. He wanted to be a superstar since he was young. He got into an audition at school when he was in China. He did b-boying in China for 6 years. He always makes sure to eat his meals without skipping any. Even if he has to wake up at 3AM, he would wake up 1 hour before and eat. His role model is Henry. He is Chinese and really works hard and efficient. He wants to be like him. After him is Seung Kwan. He was offered to join JYP but he rejected the offer. He joined Pledis Entertainment in June 2012. He shares rooms with Hansol the most. His favorite Seasons are Summer and Fall. He loves when it rains a lot too. His favorite food is hamburgers. His biggest fear is getting no attention at all. His favorite sport is basketball. He likes goguma pizza. He’s the member with the most nicknames. He’s envious of Soonyoung’s charisma. He’s one of the members with the worst sleeping habits. If he could have a super power, he would choose Teleportation. He is allergic to tomatoes. He has the most nicknames in the group. He envies Jihoon’s singing and dancing and Soonyoung’s charisma on stage. He auditioned with Kim Bum Soo’s Last Love. He says the song describes him too. His ideal type is an easy going girl with big eyes and is like a friend to him. He says he remembers all the members birthdays. Between salty and sweet, he prefers salty. The meaning behind his real name is that Boo means ‘adult’, Seung means ‘success and ‘Kwan’ means generous. He wants to be a generous successor. He tries hard to be generous and loves giving energy to other people. Then is the second youngest, Vernon. He’s from New York but moved to Korea when he was 5 years old. He likes to play the guitar and he learned it from his father. He has a little sister named Sofia. He’s extremely ticklish. His favorite rappers are Drake, T.I, J.Cole and Kendrick Lamar. He loves Nicki Minaj as well as the other members too. He shares rooms with Seung Gwan the most. His favorite music genres are Rap, R&B and Hip Hop. He also likes Jazz too. His favorite Seasons are Summer and Fall. He likes cats & has his own pet cat. His cats name is ‘Dodam’. The name of the cat was picked by his cousin. He wishes he could have good speaking skills like Seung Gwan does. His favorite food is chocolate. He likes chocolate cakes & cheese cakes & loves cheeseburgers. He likes plums. He loves to watch movies. His role models are his parents and his teachers. He was voted by the other members as the shyest member. And lastly the maknae, Dino. His role model is Michael Jackson. He listens to “Beat It” a lot and says “Billie Jean” is a song that describes him and gives him a lot of energy. He’s the one who talked at the end of Seventeen TV Ver. 3 Teaser. His favorite holiday is Sunday. He has never been to a foreign country before. He wants to live in Korea forever. He likes fried squid with spicy sauce. He’s a heavy sleeper. He likes to hug things when he sleeps. He wishes he was taller. His favorite fruits are apple and grape. He has a younger brother. He’s envious of Mingyu’s height. He’s one of the members with the worst sleeping habits. His ideal type is a pretty girl who does aegyo. He is a fan of EXO. His stage name is an abbreviation of the word Dinosaur. (but seriously thank you for entertaining my desire to literally never shut up about the group of talented idiots that have been part of my life for 12? years)

The original lineup consisted of Hangeng, Zhoumi, Siwon, Donghae, Ryeowook, Kyuhyun, and Henry. After Hangeng left SJ/SM, they added in Eunhyuk and Sungmin to round the group out to 8 members.

There was a ton of controversy surrounding the addition of Zhoumi and Henry, because they were not part of the original 12-13 members (RIP kyuhyun for not being part of Twins/Knockout LMAO) that made up Super Junior. K-ELFs/OT13s were worried that adding new members would take the spotlight away from current members and hurt the group as a whole. This “conflict” was handled very poorly, which lead to SM drawing a line between Super Junior and Super Junior M membership. Zhoumi and Henry were officially confirmed to be SJM-only members, and would never promote with SJ proper.

I’ve always been OT15 - just because members came later doesn’t mean that the team doesn’t love them any less.

They’re all adults and capable of making lineup decisions themselves, so I honestly don’t know why “fans” get so worked up about individual members and whether they should or shouldn’t be in the group and etc. The ELF fandom can honestly be a shit show in that respect. Cue substitute-leader!Eunhyuk angrily scolding ELFs (and urging present supportive ELFs to record this ment and share online) during SS6 for their disrespectful behavior towards Henry and Zhoumi during their solo stages.

THE LAST UNICORN (PART 3)

Yixing walked around San Francisco’s Chinatown district dazed and confused. Everything was strange and yet also familiar. He had gotten better at hiding his magic. Its was like teaching someone to count and control their breathing. It was doable if slightly uncomfortable. After all, magic has been part of who he is since he was born. Everything is usually fine unless he is startled out of his wits or he perceives a sudden imminent danger. The two times it happened, Yixing was glad Zhoumi was there to help him cover up the incidents.

He heard girlish giggling behind him which made him pause. He looked behind and saw two cute school girls looking at him and blushing. He inclined his head at the two politely and smiled at them. His dimples flashed briefly giving his face a boyish charm. The girls erupted in girlish squeals and giggles.

He got on the bus at the corner and sat down. More than an hour later, he had transferred to another bus and taken the BART train to his current destination. He was going to walk the rest of the way. It was a walking trail along Bayshore Hwy. Here is where he found himself walking most of the time. It would probably be easier if he just used the walking trails in Golden Gate Park, but strangely he found himself drawn to this one. There wasn’t much to see. Just some birds foraging when it is low tide, other people walking, some lonely fishermen with their bait and hook. For him, coming here means he can gaze to his heart’s content at all the flights coming and going from San Francisco Airport.

His heart told him to wait. To anticipate. For who or what, he doesn’t know.

“Hello! I’m back!” Mina sing-songed as she exited the gates at SFO’s arrival area.

“Papsi!!! Momsie!!! I missed you! Mwah! Mwah” she squealed as she ran to hug her mother and father.

The elderly couple were smiling as the shook their heads at the exuberant greeting their daughter gave them. It was no secret in the family that she was a foundling left at the doorstep of the family home back in the Philippines. Initially they were going to give her to the proper authorities so that her parents could be located or she could be put back for adoption.

Her cries were too distressed when her adoptive mother was giving her to the social worker in charge of her case. Before they knew it, Mina became their foster child and eventually their adopted daughter.

She was a beacon of light for the couple who already had sons to raise. She brought joy and happiness where ever she goes. When she is sad, it seems the whole world agrees and rain will pour down from the heavens.

“Mina, let us go. Traffic will be horrible. Let’s save the reunion for later.” A tall handsome man picked up her discarded luggage and started herding everybody to a nearby car.

“Kuya! You came to pick me up too?!” Mina smiled as she hugged the man.

“Of course! I don’t trust anybody else to take care of my baby sister.” The man hugged her back briefly before pushing her and the older couple again towards the car.

“Kuya, I’m hungry! Can we eat first? It is lunch time right? Benihana? Please, please, please pretty please!! Huh?” She was begging her brother cutely.

“Did you have to pick an expensive restaurant?” He mock complained as he started driving. Luckily the Japanese restaurant is actually nearby.

“I wuv u!!” She joked as she threw flying kisses at her brother. They pulled in at the restaurant’s parking lot and luckily were seated right away since the restaurant just barely opened for the day. Diners were still not that many at this hour. Mina chose a seat that give her a good view of the water and the airport.

(Dug-dug) Her heartbeat felt so loud even in her ears.

“Yixing” she breathed softly, her eyes never leaving the handsome stranger.

Outside Yixing stopped in his tracks when his eyes met with the pretty young girl inside the restaurant.

“Mina” he whispered quietly.
