Not me realizing that in 2027 kids watching Buffy is going to be like me watching The Addams Family, I Dream of Jeannie, and Bewitched when I was growing up.

Sometimes I find myself pining for the days of forums and LiveJournal only because it's so hard to find communities these days. So many people have moved into private Discords that when a new hyperfixation hits, finding my people requires a Victorian era style expedition with tents, attendants, and backpacks full of equipment in the hopes I can locate the lost tribe of Vulcan/Romulan fuckers.

Hey guys! I know it's been a while, and although both Alex and I have no plans to continue this page at the moment, we wanted to give you an update.
Ultimately: We are both still alive and just fine.
However, I do have a favor to ask you guys, if anyone can! I know some of you are super excited for the new HBO HP series, some unsure, and some don't want it at all. I am excited, possibly too excited. I want to know how I can get involved with the show, and am wondering if anyone who still pays attention to this blog knows a guy. I even already wrote a pilot episode because I'm just crazy like that.
It never hurts to ask, right?

it's always so scary when you dump your heart and soul into a chapter and think "hehehehe my audience is going to think I'm so clever and they'll love this!" and you genuinely had a great time writing it so you finally put the chapter out into the world and it's like *refresh* *refresh* *refresh* (repeat x3 days) and that inbox number for comments just stays 0.

That newest episode of The Last of Us was something else. I was wondering how they were going to expand out the events into a season without putting mindless crap filler in it. But if that's the quality of the extended material going in. I am fucking extremely happy.
Update: Ok fuck, I wrote that first part before the Wedding day. I am in fucking tears. Christ... That hurt so much to watch.

the premise of "avatar day" is very similar to this one ds9 episode where jadzia dax agrees to fulfill a klingon blood oath sworn by a past host and now i'm kinda wondering how aang would handle it if being accountable for his past lives' actions was like That. like obviously he is fully capable of saying No to murdering as part of his avatar duties no matter how much his past lives agree to it but the blood oath was about helping to avenge a personal loss, it wasn't about the state of the world or whatever. and even though kor let jadzia out of the blood oath (since technically she wasn't the one to make it) she agreed to do it, which to me feels similar to aang choosing to stand trial for kyoshi's crimes. like aang & co could've just skipped town like "well it was a past life so you're not accountable" but aang felt compelled to take responsibility for his past life's actions the same way jadzia did.
of course, there's a big difference in that jadzia has the memories of her past life and remembers the loss her past host swore to avenge. a similar situation would not feel as personal to aang bc he wouldn't remember it. but aang does feel this sense of responsibility to his past lives, feels a lot of guilt for his 100 year coma and all the things he didn't do. there's definitely a possibility that he'd come on the journey because he made a promise, and i think he might try to respect another culture's beliefs about murder even they are not his own.
ultimately, though, i think it might end the same way:
She hesitates, and meanwhile Kang stabs his knife into the Albino's back.
On the surface, he thanks Dax for the act of friendship in "letting" him have the death blow, but the knowing eyes between long friends hints at the deeper reality: that Kang has saved Jadzia from being forced to make the decision to kill the Albino.

the character of radar o’reilly is sooooo funny to me. he is an 18 year old believably played by a balding 30 year old. he is accidentally one of the best portrayals of a trans man i've ever seen in a tv show. he is canonically psychic. don’t worry about it.

Actually so fucked up that the x files continues to be one of the few shows ive watched where the relationship between the male and female protagonists feel real to me. Like they arent just love interests from the get go. The romantic subtext isnt as important as their platonic relationship most of the time. Mulder is protective of scully because shes his friend. He checks in on her but it never feels like shes being belittled. She feels comfortable speaking her opinion without fearing that mulder will be condescending to her. Idk it just makes me feel safe to watch as a female viewer, knowing there is this respect between the main characters. That these characters actually care about each other. Very refreshing for a 30 year old tv show
