Jon Favreau saying Din Djarin was never meant to be Star Wars Aragorn is dumb on many levels, but primarily because no one saw him as Aragorn!
Aragorn was born to be a king and knew this his entire life. He struggled with it, rebelled against it, and then finally realized it was his destiny. No one in Star Wars is an Aragorn.
Din Djarin was never born to be a king, and he never considered that he would be one. If Din is anyone, he is King Arthur, a person who performed an extraordinary task to win a powerful sword.
The idea that the story was not setting Din up to be a leader is ridiculous, though, because in all three seasons and The Book of Boba Fett, we see Din as an effective leader. In several episodes and across the story arc, Din brings people together to fight and win unlikely battles. He manages to diplomatically get different groups to work together. He comes up with the plans that will take advantage of everyone's best skills. He puts himself in positions of extreme vulnerability because he knows it's what they need to win. He also manages to pull off some incredible moves of his own that just make everyone go. "Wow! That dude is awesome!" Din does all this while still being respectful and kind to the point where at the end of the battle, the people in the group are willing to follow him anywhere if he asks.
Then you have the audacity to sit there and tell me you didn't create a king.

"I dont really like Beel that much, his only character trait is that he likes food and after awhile, the food shtick gets boring."
No?? That's not true at all!! Out of all of his brothers, he's one of the sweetest towards MC. He's always genuine, and he's soft. He's so incredibly soft (The way he treats Belphie and MC makes me want to rip my heart out, its so cute i cant handle it). He talks to a sickly flower so that it gets well, he's nice to all his brothers and overall, aside from his horrendous appetite and eating habits, no one really has any quams about his personality. He loves his family so much, he's willing to do anything for them, he wants to protect them because he still feels guilty about being unable to save Lilith, (WHICH WAS NEVER HIS FAULT, I JUST WANT TO HUG HIM). He also loves other stuff too!! He's obviously into fitness but that's completely overshadowed by his obvious love for food. There's just something so endearing about him being an absolute giant of a demon and then you find out he just this absolute darling and you just want to hold him tight. Idk about you but if you don't like this man (demon), I don't trust you one bit, I'm sorry.
A rant but idc I love him so much

Would.
Hi Scarlet Hollow nation, I’m being completely normal about Dr. Joan Kelly I promise (I’m lying)
I want to make it clear that I don’t condone her actions. She is a horrible woman who caused irreversible trauma to her son and she should be held accountable for it. People do insane things when they are scared and I think that’s especially true for her. I know a lot of people are like “If Reese was my son I would figure out coping methods to prevent him from becoming a monster.” And sure! Maybe you would! But logically, I think watching your virgin birth child’s bones crack and reform would psychologically fuck you up. ESPECIALLY when it mainly happens when he’s mad. Like!! Imagine telling your son no to staying up late and he morphs into a creature that can easily overpower you and kill you because he’s unreasonably pissed. We don’t know what Reese was like in those three other instances. While he’s generally just kinda depressed now, we’ve seen first hand how his emotions take over when he’s angry.
And don’t come at me. I know that Reese becoming a monster is a metaphor for neurodivergence and mental illness! I also love his character and could write a novel on him because I think he’s great! However, within the physical world of Scarlet Hollow, he literally transforms into like an 8 foot tall monster who can unhinge his jaw and murder people. While from our perspective, it may be something to examine and find the symbolism in, from the Scarlet Hollow perspective he is akin to a massive predator with magical powers.
I just think it’s important to recognize that Joan is also a victim of the horrible town of Scarlet Hollow. The methods which she uses to survive are NOT ok. Again, i want to make it clear that I DONT condone her poisoning her son. Still, I can see why she felt the need to do what she did. She is a complicated character, as are all of the Scarlet Hollow NPCs.
Back to being silly now! I also like her because she’s hot and I would let her commit acts of medical malpractice on me <3

fair warning I'm on my soapbox today so this is going to be a kinda rant-y analysis, but here are my SG-1 age headcanons because I do not accept their canon ages. this will be their age in season 1 for continuity's sake, if you want to know their hc ages in a later season... do the math yourself idk
Daniel Jackson
there is no way Daniel is 38. in the movie (I will be including the movie for both Daniel and Jack) Daniel is in a lecture hall and looks very young, maybe this is among his first lectures. in the episode where he meets up with his university friends, they say that he dropped off the radar at that lecture (which makes sense because that's when he joins the stargate programme), and before then he had worked with them and their professor. now this is where I take my conformation that he is very young, because this seems like a post-grad internship very very soon after his uni courses. which means that, including the year he was in abydos, he can't be more than mid 20s. 28 at the oldest in the first episode - that's ten whole years younger than canon.
Jack O'Neill
the show seems to try and make us think that Charlie died many many years ago, but he died within MONTHS of the first abydos mission. he was only like 10, so if Jack had his kid around mid 20s, he should only be mid 30s in the first episode. again, ten years younger than canon. they really seem to forget that Daniel was only in abydos for a single year, don't they? now, RDA did (gracefully, he looks amazing) age like 10 years in half a season, going from completely brunet (male spelling) to salt and pepper hair and gaining a few dignified wrinkles, so I can see how people can think he's older than he is.
Sam Carter
now here, apparently her canon age is YOUNGER than I think it is. I don't think she's 27. there's no way she's younger than Daniel. she's a captain, and an aunt. I think early 30s. she's still younger than Jack, but not 17 years younger.

Whoops it happened again.
Okay so... apparently someone got falsely accused of grooming for.. a ship they don't like. What the hell, guys? What the actual fuck? Seriously? Literally, just block and move on. How difficult is it for you to not harass someone over a ship?
Like- you'd think that's common knowledge, right? Then why not do exactly that? Sure. I, personally, don't really like the Sam x Uzi ship, but do I pull stuff like this? No. No, I don't. Don't like a ship that someone else likes? Just block and move on. Seriously.
Edit: More stuff I wanted to add.
Noticed a misunderstanding. But yeah. Wanted to add some stuff to clarify. I'm sure everyone knows about people being harassed over liking ships. I don't exactly know if it happening as often as much, but still. Not. Cool. Again. Blocking and moving on takes far less effort.

I have an idea.
An LMK Season 5 Theory:
The underworld has many reasons to hate Wukong, and Macaque and possibly even some other members of the group. Wukong has virtually eliminated the possibility of death, Macaque has died but managed to return to life, and Wukong's old traveling buddies, Pigsy, Tang and Sandy should technically all be dead but are either suffering from amnesia, reborn(which shouldn't be the case for Tang because his rebirth cycle was supposed to have ended), or simply have outrun death somehow + the amnesia or memory erasure. But most of these people are out of the Underworld kings reach, all under "protection" by the Celestial realm. Wukong, Pigsy, Tang and Sandy all TECHICHALLY immortal warriors of the celestial realm, while Macaque was raised from the dead by somebody with underworld powers, LBD, possibly with some authority there that they don't want to disrespect even after her death.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
With all of this taken into consideration, the theory that one of these guys will be dragged back into the underworld is hard to believe, even with the Celestial Realm in shambles and LBD dead. So I have another possibility.
What if, due to the way he was born, Mk isn't in the "book of death" at all? And due to this, and the fact that nobody of celestial realm status(like if they attacked him the celestial realm would defend him) is protecting him, they may be curious about what he is. Possibly even hoping he could be their weapon. Or possibly just wanting him to not be able to escape death. Although I doubt that, at least one of the Kings of the Underworld seemed to have some sort of plan. A plan that involves Mk. I mean, did anybody else see the weird connection that Mk seemed to have to the fabric of reality? Immediately when the Universe was almost ripped apart, he lost his connection to his monkey form. Why? What could they be planning to do? Maybe they do want him as a weapon, or at least one of them does so that he can reshape reality in their image.

A Look Into My New Guilty Pleasure: Poldark (2015 Series)
My biggest weakness is period dramas — especially period dramas with a talented cast, sweeping romance, terrific scenes (preferably set in some kind of country/provincial side), and lots and lots and lots of just sitting around and talking.
That's probably why Poldark has captured my heart. As a big fan of Outlander, it's no surprise that I fell in love with this show. Outlander and Poldark have so many similarities that I may make a lengthy post about it, but for today, let me just rant about my new guilty pleasure. I'm so obsessed with this show that I actually finished watching the entire five seasons in one week!
Tumblr media
Poldark is based on Winston Graham's novels and adapted by Debbie Horsfield. I was so excited to start this show, with a male protagonist originally written by a man, created and written for a series by a woman. I haven't read Graham's novels (I'm going to one of these days, I swear!), so I'm not sure how well Debbie's adaption worked. I've read many Reddit threads, though, and some fans of the novel are not that impressed with how she omitted and added details to the show (will get back to this once I've read the books or at least the seven ones that were used in the show). The show has also been adapted in the 70s, so this was not the first time Graham's novels were seen onscreen!
Despite not having read the books, I fell in love with the story, the characters, and the cast! The show follows Ross Poldark returning to Cornwall after fighting in the American War in the 1780s. He looks forward to marrying his childhood sweetheart Elizabeth but, believing him to be dead, is now engaged to his cousin Francis. He then tries to resurrect his family's mining business and hires a young girl Demelza to be his kitchen maid (whom he eventually marries) while also crossing paths with the villain George Warleggan, a corrupted banker who stops at nothing to ruin Ross's prospects and personal life. As the show progresses, we also meet other characters, including Prudie and Jud, Ross's servants, Verity, Ross's cousin and Francis's sister; Ross's friend Dr. Dwight Enys and his love interest Caroline Penvenen; Sam and Drake Carne, Demelza's brothers, and Morwenna Chynoweth, Drake's love interest.
Yes, this show has a large ensemble cast, and trust me, there always comes a point when you hate or love them. Especially our protagonist Ross Poldark. Ross... is an interesting character. He's terribly, terribly flawed and many times times, I'm so infuriated with him to the point that I want him to suffer. I swear, you cannot go through this series without screaming at Ross. (When that moment came up in Season 2, I swear I had my middle finger ready every time Ross showed up on my screen from then on.)
But my favorite character in the show is Demelza, Ross's wife who started as his kitchen maid. She's the heart of the show, the voice of reason, and even though she makes questionable decisions along the way, you can't help but get on her side no matter what. She's the perfect fiery yet gentle match to Ross's stubbornness. He treats her like shit many times in this show, which makes me angry to no end, but they eventually grow to be understanding, loving partners.
And it also helps that Aidan Turner and Eleanor Tomlinson have one of the best romantic chemistries I've ever seen. They're terrific actors as well and they bring the characters to life so effortlessly. They just seem like they have the best time shooting this show. I kind of want to rewatch Loving Vincent now just because they're in that movie, even just in supporting roles.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Poldark is a roller coaster, with so many ups and downs (mostly downs, to be honest, please give Demelza a break!) My favorite season has got to be Season 1. Season 1 had the best Ross and I loved the early stages of his relationship with Demelza. It also has my favorite episode: Season 1, Episode 8. That episode broke me so much, thanks to Aidan and Eleanor's perfect performances. It's the only time I ever cried watching this show. I usually cry in period dramas (I've cried countless times in Outlander and Downton Abbey), but for some reason, I only cried once in Poldark. Most of the time, I'm annoyed and infuriated (hahaha but I still love it!)
The romance in Poldark is also quite unique, something I haven't seen before. Ross and Demelza emotionally hurt each other many times in this show, and they don't have the best communication. It's not an ideal marriage, but that's what makes it so raw and real. It hurts when Ross sleeps with his first love Elizabeth or when Demelza falls for the much-sensitive Hugh Armitage, but these are challenges people face all the time, and it's interesting to view it in characters and circumstances through 18th-century lenses. Plus, it can be very tiring to see perfect couples onscreen all the time. So watching Ross and Demelza's relationship thrive, suffer, and reconcile is very refreshing to me.
Nevertheless, Ross and Demelza are still able to work together. Seasons 2 and 3 showcase the worst moments of their marriage, from infidelities to insecurity, but the love between them still perseveres and they learn to forgive. In the end, they realize that they belong together.
And despite the unconventional marriage, Poldark is not a stranger to grand romantic gestures. Two of my favorite Ross and Demelza moments occur in Season 2:
A real funny, old-married-couple type of bicker in The Beach Scene:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And of course, showing all intimacy in The Stocking Scene:
Tumblr media
(Let's just not talk about what happened 2 episodes after this!)
The romance in Poldark not only ends with Ross and Demelza. We also got two really good couples in the series: Dwight and Caroline and Drake and Morwenna.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And these love stories don't just happen! They're fleshed-out characters with proper backgrounds and their own problems, especially Drake and Morwenna's relationship. Morwenna is one of my favorite characters, and she doesn't deserve all the shit thrown at her. The last season of Poldark is not the best (bordering on bad, actually, especially the last two episodes), but watching Drake and Morwenna get their happy ending is worth it.
Finishing all five seasons is bittersweet. I enjoyed most of the story and fell in love with different characters. I kind of regret watching everything in one week haha. But what can I say? As soon as I finish each episode, I'm so tempted to start another episode. I think the last time I stayed up until 5 AM the next morning to watch TV shows was Yellowjackets. Poldark's just too good to binge! It's one of my favorite TV shows now. Maybe I'll watch Sanditon next...
I want to write more about Poldark soon, maybe a comparison with Outlander or maybe just a post about each character. I realized I hadn't talked much about Elizabeth, Francis, and George in this post; I was too preoccupied with the love story aspects and Ross and Demelza. We'll see!

Guys, it doesn't matter if you hc Lloyd as a young kid, a teen, an adult, or a full elder. It doesn't matter. The media has that base plot. We are meant to expand on it.
It doesn't matter if you take his time at Darkley's and run with it. It doesn't matter if you stopped s6 and ran with it. It doesn't matter if you watched DR and ran with it. It doesn't matter if you extended the plot and made him 500 years old. It doesn't matter if you haven't watched it at all and just like his concept.
You know the character? Then do whatever you want with it. His age literally doesn't matter. He has been, is, and will be those ages. Do whatever you want.

People will say they want new teammates for their driver only to list the most hilarious options.
Lewis and Estie should be partnered”
Yes, let’s replace George (who is currently getting spammed with death threats for not laying down for Lewis) with Estie (who spent all of last year getting spammed with death threat from not laying down for Fernando and Checo before).
“Put Alex in the Ferrari.”
Not if you’re only doing that to have him act as second to Charles. Alex and Charles are friends yes, that doesn’t mean Alex isn’t going to fight him on track, and it defiantly doesn’t mean he’s gonna automatically accept strategy choices that are obviously gonna disadvantage him. It might not be to the level of Carlos now, but it also definitely won’t be the clear Charles #1 that you want.
Hell, there are still people saying Merc shouldn’t have dropped Valtteri despite him struggle and pretty obvious drop in performance in 2020 and especially 2021, and despite the fact that being number 2 wasn’t exactly great for him mentally (not like it is for anyone)

HIHI a rant about Gus from the owl house and mainly how the fans treat him,,,,,,,, :3
I really dislike how a lot of toh fandom acts as if Gus didn't have any characters arcs or anything to his character.
Yes Gus wasn't given as much attention as the main characters or the main characters family/love interest, but he still had his own lessons he learnt about trusting people and getting taken advantage of and getting bullied.
Where the crew forgot his character was the season finale but thats because they had already fit in 6 character arcs, an entire season or twos worth of world building and also time pressure from Disney. It was clearly set up for him to have an arc but we didn't get it because of time. I say this because of how much was set up by the writers.
Every time that he was vulnerable or scared or even talking about how much he changed as a person, everyone overlooked it for more popular characters in the scene
Which its fine to have fan favourites but to then make criticism of "there wasn't enough character focus" on a character you are ignoring is so annoying to see.
The neglectful part of his character was probably the designs in season 3, but thats because the crew had to make new designs for literally everyone on the show, made multiple designs for hunter being possessed then after he was possessed, made more character designs for the entire hexsquad (INCLUDING gus) and he just hadn't really had a hairstyle change.
I think shows need criticism. Its important for fully formed opinions on anything really but criticism only makes shows better in the future. But uts not criticism if its just a mistake you as the audience have made

Something that annoys me in regard to discussions about Monkie Kid is how those familiar with JTTW can't separate the book from the show. You'd think it'd be easy considering that the show and the book are wildly different, but no. That difference flies right over their heads.
For example, if I wanted to have a discussion about Wukong and Macaque's relationship, and I asked why Wukong would kill Macaque, someone will say, "because Macaque killed and tortured the monkeys of FFM, and tried to kill Tripitaka, and impersonated as Wukong, etc."
Or if I wanted to talk about how Azure Lion and his sworn brothers are portrayed as morally grey, and how interesting it is that their motivations are pretty noble, someone would say, “the Lion Camel Ridge group are evil. They ate a whole bunch of people and tried to eat Tripitaka, etc.”
I can’t believe this has to be stated, but the JTTW characters and the LMK characters are different characters. Just because JTTW Macaque did those things in the book, it doesn’t automatically mean LMK Macaque did those same things in the show. Just because JTTW Lion Camel Ridge gang were a bunch of carnivorous evil monsters doesn’t mean the LMK Lion Camel Ridge gang are the same way.
I don’t see what’s so difficult to understand. Monkie Kid isn’t even your typical “popular book gets adapted into a movie or tv show” situation. LEGO Monkie Kid is a show inspired by JTTW. It’s not a one-to-one adaptation or sequel. It’s basically an AU where they will change whatever they want to suit the story they want to tell. There have been so many changes already that you would think people would see the show as its own entity by now. Yet we keep running into this problem. Half of the characters people love so much wouldn’t even be alive if the show was following the book religiously.
Keep in mind that what I’m talking about is different than not liking a certain change from the book. You’re free to prefer one version of the characters over another. I’m familiar with JTTW too. It’s an interesting story, and I understand how it was able to stand the test of time and influence many other stories. But when I’m discussing LEGO Monkie Kid, I’m talking about LEGO Monkie Kid. Not JTTW. When I’m talking about a character’s actions, I’m talking about them within the context of the show. Not what a completely different character with the same name did in the book.
Monkie Kid isn’t even the first JTTW show that’s been made. There are other shows and movies inspired by the book that told stories wildly different from the source material. If we can’t even agree on the fact that just because something happened in the book, doesn’t mean it also happened in the show, how can we have a discussion on anything?

The funny thing about them hating Jackie is that now I love her more than ever. I'm drawing her happy again, I'm drawing her more, I have time to myself again, I can talk to people, I can just...be.
It's funny, usually people say harsh breakups ruin them, and for a very short time I was sad. But with what they did to me, how they made me feel, I'm glad I left. I don't care if they see this, I've already blocked 3 accounts, at this point they should get the hint, but...
I've drawn her happy. I finally feel happy again.

I should write migraines, like I get them
Like, I see people writing about migraines, but then it's often just headaches, with maybe some light sensitivity. Often it's a one-off thing, not mentioned again or easily brushed off and handled with painkillers. Like it's not the chronical problem that it is. Like it doesn't knock me out for half a day when I take my meds on time and longer than that if I don't. Like I don't know people who get knocked out by migraines for one or even two days flat even when taking pain killers.
And I think a lot of people don't really understand what migraines are. They just see them as bad headaches, or maybe regular headaches. When it's actually my brain being unable to deal with stress correctly and throwing it in my face.
So yeah, I should write migraines like I get them.

Okay, this is a problem I have been seeing a lot within the LU fanbase and just quickly wanted to address this cause it genuinely upsets me to see this happen.
Please do not tag things as Linked Universe if the original post isn't Linked Universe related.
This has been something I have been seeing a lot of, where work that isn't related to LU, such as perhaps someone's own original AU, fanart of a game or anything else inbetween starts getting tagged and rebloged as LU even though it's not related to it at all. Just because someone, for example, did art of a Link from a certain game in their own way doesn't mean it's LU.
I am saying this cause a very talented artist on here is possibly leaving Tumblr because of people for one tagging their art as LU but also cause of some uncommon tagging. They do beautiful Hyryle Warrior's art I won't go to much into it, but an example they pulled up was someone reblog with a tag that was along the line of "wish this was their design instead of the whøŕe". Pretty disgusting. Does this mean it was a LU tag? No, this could have been a off-hand comment since HW Link is considered really pretty, but I have seen people rarely use that sort of language when addressing Warriors.
Even on other people's original AU's, I have seen people tag them as LU when they want to be their own thing.
I apologize for my ramblings, I am not good at formatting worded posts all too much and find it different to word what I am trying to say.
Just, don't tag things as LU when it's not. It's easy as going to the original poster and seeing their tags.
