#a country of two

the fact that dentists and doctors are kept in separate fields of study is super concerning because doctors being kept entirely in the dark about an entire area of the human body is costing people their lives. my dentist was able to tell me my jaw was shattered on one side. my doctors, some of which are top of their field specialists in pain disorders, all said they did not deal with teeth area issues and glossed over it as if having 5.5 teeth held up via calcium deposit and bone shrapnel isn't unhealthy. one of them is literally an ear nose and throat specialist. come on
edit: i'm not american this is not about america i am in canada and our system is different

I think it’s very weird that when one country is criticized y’all tend to be like “oh well my country we would never —” uhh YES in your country too, that’s how states work? Y’all talking about people living in China or the US not knowing their history because the bad parts aren’t taught well in school: sure!!! But I know many people from Belgium who know next-to-nothing about the genocide in the Congo, from the Netherlands who say all their colonies were only trading posts, from Thailand who say that the indigenous people in their country have been and are treated fine only they don’t make an effort to be Thai, from Portugal who will tell you about what an amazingly positive force they were in their... territories, from Czechia who will tell you their country holds no responsibility for treatment of the Roma—but also it was and is justified; all were taught these things in school.
My point isn’t “other countries do this too so it doesn’t matter!!” No! My point is that every single state commits and covers up atrocities in some way. There is no ethical state.
American liberals especially seem to have a tendancy to think that there is a Good and Perfect state and we must only find it and imitate it and then our problems will be fixed. But trust me: it doesn’t exist, (and it’s certainly not in Europe??). We must create our own systems, and have the courage to change those, too, when we see their flaws.

*jolts awake at 4am* Venti’s flying castle AU
Instagram | Twitter | Prints
#genshin impact#genshin fanart#venti#xiao#xiaoven#been having fun thinking more abt the setting of the AU it’s still vague but here’s what I’ve got#so like mondstadt and liyue have been all but overtaken by the fatui whose regime is getting more and more oppressive#Strict rules and regulations? Yes. Conscripting people to their forces? Absolutey.#Great mistrust directed at any mages who aren’t directly affiliated with them? You got it.#There’s growing unrest among ppl but aside from some small resistance groups chances of a bigger revolution happening seem slim#especially in the absence of clear leadership/cooperation between the two countries#anyway xiao is working in an inn on the border between liyue and mondstadt/also definitely fighting fatui enforcers as a masked vigilante#(sorry to steal diluc’s thunder. he can be doing that in mondstadt)#a fight goes bad after a run in with the fatui and xiao gets almost killed and cursed by la signora “to become the demon he pretends to be”#something like that anyway his mask merges with him and there’s definitely some dark karma stuff going on it’s all very bad#well guess whose castle he finds while fleeing wounded from the battle#y’all know this part#don't think xiao would offer to do any cleaning tho more like venti talks him into being his bodyguard#there’s also a whole Situation going on with venti and a young bard who was trying to start a revolution before he died#and the Fatui/ la signora specifically#definitely no fun Calcifer analogue hanging out in the castle sorry#which I haven’t thought all the way through yet but it’s tense and sad trust me#more like the echo of a sad song carried by the night winds outside the castle#venti has a heart the problem is he doesn't think he deserves it#anyway zhongli is turniphead#he’s a liyuen general long thought dead/assassinated by the fatui but he’s actually been turned into a living dragon statue whoops

It seems like I’m gonna have to attract y’all’s attention again to the fact that we learned via Guillermo Rojas (Dean’s Spanish dubbed) that the spanish dub has been approved by WB studio, that they did NOT asked for the scene to be re-dubbed, which therefore confirms that this wasn’t a translator or a director going rogue, but a storyline being wilingly silenced.
If I see one more “haha the rogue translator made Destiel go canon again” I’m going to light myself on fire.

azerbaijan entered armenia's actual territory and currently has 300 soldiers in a country it won a war against less than 6 months ago. and you know what's the worst part?? they know they can get away with anything. they had turkey completely and obviously support them, they used chemical weapons on people and forests, they recently murdered 20+ prisoners of war, they already turned gravestones into road cement and now they are entering armenia's territory without fearing anything bc who will stop them? absolutely no one. especially not the morally broken 2 million armenians who lost 6000 people to the war and 15000 to disabilty bc of the war

It is time for me to weigh in on a very pressing matter of “Devil Went Down To Georgia” discourse, i.e., why Johnny wins.
It’s very simple:
a) the Devil summons up a band of demons, some of whom are equipped with electric guitars, which is clearly a breach of contract; and
b) Johnny actually plays 3 separate classic bluegrass tunes: “Fire on the Mountain”, “House of the Rising Sun”, and “Granny Will Your Dog Bite” plus an unnamed square dance tune (”chicken in the bread pan” is a common bit of square dance patter). In doing so, Johnny proves that he’s a better fiddler---not only are those tunes are technically difficult, but they demonstrate that Johnny is a musician in touch with his roots. The Devil plays a slick rock violin solo, but Johnny’s the one who knows what bluegrass is.

Daniel today at the event for Sparco, near Turin, Italy
Here’s a translation of what they’re saying! Mara: “They gave you a super lightweight suit here in Sparco, that you’ll be using starting from Monza. My question is: will you be able to eat more pizza, since your race suit weights less? Because I know that your goal for this weekend is to eat as much pizza as possible!” Daniel: “Yes. It si very important. When you eat so much in Monza, my Sunday goes very good!” Mara: “Yeah, I know! Especially pizza!” Daniel: “Simple maths! So, yeah, I arrived today and I’m gonna start tonight. With two. Eating two pizzas tonight!”
I really love when he speaks in Italian, even if it’s not perfect! I really appreciate all the effort he puts in remembering a language he probably uses only very rarely 🥺🧡💙
